it must be OMG, the simple reason is the profits it make, otherwise, this project is really good, the company Omise is famous in Southeast, it may go to the ground easily

I bought and hold Ripple and Stellar,
because their prices have gone down considerably lately, and I think the price is already bottom.
their technology is also very good, and most importantly I see the performance of their team lately,
I think there will be a new breakthrough from Stellar, I see they are promoting their platform to ICO project

Ardor as they launch their mainnet late Q4 2017.

According to me best altcoin is Noblecoin... Fair, straightforward, stunning commercial center, more than 40 dealers, thousands given to philanthropy, dev composed moment great on condition of crypto Strong community group and for ONCE NO SCAM OR PUMP AND DUMP!

OAX, just got pumped due to Binance listing. The reality is its a great DEX project backed by one of Asia's largest BTC exchanges ANXPRO. This will one hit the roof once the exchange launches.

I don't really know what altcoins to hold for this year. Right now, I only have shadow on my wallet and I have no idea if I should hold or not. It's price is quite stable. Any suggestions what altcoins are good to hold. I'm planning to invest some of money, but I don't have any idea about it.

I'll go with the classics ones, Dogecoin and Litecoin. I think they still have their place to move money fast among exchanges without having an enormous fee. Plus there are some base markets in some exchanges that make them useful. You can always flip them for some not too risky profit.

Wow do you have an ICE token? What is iDice? When yesterday the price was soaring, but now iDice is down after I a few minutes ago saw it in the market-cap  :D

Mine are ARK for the DPOS passive returns and tech, IOTA for the zero transaction fees and tech and Monero for the privacy.

Never buy it, it's sort of like a scam casino token. I heard about it, and following iDice for 3 weeks, the devs don't response the questions of the investors. They're like lost or escaped.

Besides, ltc and etc are the bombd ready to explode which means you can get some for a possible pump will happen.

I don't have any altcoins now, since I'm just new here. But, I've been reading through this thread and ETH and Monero seemed to be having a good time for this year and a lot of people are saying good things about this coins. So, maybe if I've earned enough, I would try to invest and keep some altcoins on my wallet.

Altcoin that i hold for long time and i still keep adding is Waves. And this is what i hold in waveswallet. ETH also i hold, just for a shorter period. Because ETH in exchange has volatility make i can use to make a profits.

I can list 3 cryptocurrencies that i hold this year.

Waves - team quality and quantity of investors.
IOTA - project quality, a good alternative. a revolutionary new transactional settlement.
ETC - cheap and popular.

I think lisk might be a sleeping giant. I hope it comes up after the rebranding.

For it is monero. I have been very impressed with the dev team for their work. This altcoin offers true privacy and anonymity. I am also exciting for upcoming projects such as Kovri, the I2P routing software.

I agree with you about Waves, but ETC? that is crazy man, this coin does not exists.
Can you explain to us why do you recommend buying this coin? This is the result of the fork of Ethereum, its an useless coin, it has been freezed between $13,5 and $15 for three months, i dont see it popular since it does not even have more volume than monero.

ETC, ETH and XMR are always my favorite altcoins to trade and I simply trust those coins as these are the coins that will never disappoint me in long term but at a moment I am trading DGB and I have been making some good short term profits from since last 6 months and I am still looking forward to trade DGB in coming days too.

There's also Decent, which out of the current coins that I know off has what I think a promising future. But maybe that future is next year, so doesn't qualify for this year.

I advise you to follow Barry Silbert. He is trying hard for ETC project. And yes it is popular. So many investors follow ths coin. And going to be more expensive in the future.
Ethereum Classic beginning to release of new mantis client to make a difference from ethereum. If you check a bit you will understand that Ethereum Classic will no more be in the shadow of ethereum.

coins are my favorite for this year is PPT because of the rising price of very high and very beneficial to my income this year

I really love ripple this year, they show very good progress. And many people would love it too, I think in terms of ripple technology also includes one of the best and the price is not too volatile.

BCC ,NEO Are the pennies of this year it really good

My favorite coins this year would be Waves, Adex, Pillar and Ethereum. Actually most of the altcoins came from ICO's. And I look at their whitepaper and roadmap to see if they have really great potential in the years to come.

My favorite coin for this year is adex he's keeping to rise ,to be honest I wasn't expect that will rise rapidly 

Monero XMR seems to be the one coin with most practical anon use case, and a time-tested blockchain that has been around since 2014.

For now I love Monaco coin, Waves, Ethereum because the three coins have a very high price. But do not forget the BCC because BCC is very feasible to hold.

ZCash - although the ongoing founder reward really puts me off buying it, as well as the fact that there are still a LOT of coins to be mined
Tezos - really interesting ideas and a strong team - will be interesting to see where this goes
PIVX - cool governance stuff inbuilt as well
IOTA - i don't understand DAG, but i'm getting more into it!

For me my most favorite altcoin to hold is waves atm. If we are talking about the whole year, I used to like to hold eth since it gave me massive profits this year and I bought in it's early stages. I hold it for just a month or two and I get profit but now I think it isnt profitable anymore. I also like to hold some ICO tokens that has just been launched this year like wetrust, encryptotel, and many more good coins that had it's ICO this year.

The favorite altcoins this year for me is the BTE, at the beginning of thsi year, the price is $20 and I bought some, as you all know ,the price is about &350 now, and I have made a lot of profit.

Is it pillar? I don't really remembered the name but my buddy have a lot of money because of that coins that campaign became successful and not just successful but a very high profit when they sell that. But I'm not in that campaign that time so I didn't have the opportunity to have that money too. So my favorite altcoin is the ethereum because they are the one who are leading among all those altcoins and they make my investment rise when they rise too because I have plenty of them.

I like STRAT. STRAT has a good technology background. Have a great DEV team, the community is very interested in STRAT. STRAT is completing Masternode. I think this year STRAT will fly very high.

Waves , i find its potential , and its killer-features are in developing, i believe it could take me a good profit.

I like to hold new coins from the ICO. It's quite risky but I'll take it.
I'm currently holdinh Adex, shadow and xcp. Just hold it for long-term or even mid term or when the price is good then I'll trade it.

I am still fond of ETH. I choose this because I think it is the most promising altcoin. Even ETH is lower than BTC, ETH is BTC's rival. ETH is a fast growing altcoin. You can earn it fast. If I want to become rich, I will use ETH and BTC for investing. As BTC's value is increasing, altcoin's value decreases but I will use altcoin, which is ETH, because it has lower price to invest yet it grows fast and you can earn a lot to trade or buy BTC.

I'm still holding my 1337 coin till 2018.. This coin has such a huge potential to power up. Dev is a hardworking one and still making a very nice updates of the coin. Halving in September and December is the last halving with 13.17% APR. :)

I hold some coins in my wallet, but still bitcoin is the coin's favorite coin which gives so much benefit,

At the moment I like most with Ripple coins, they are great for long-term investments and short-term investments, they are also developing the technology better these days.

I don't know why I like it just a reason that he increased its value with great speed and its still increasing.
I am thinking to buy some of Bitconnect coins but some of the guys here saying that it is a scam coin and its like ponzi scheme and I do not know why it is a scam site?

I do not understand why storing crypto currency only in altcoyins. For a long-term perspective, bitcoin is very suitable. Well, with altoquin you need to choose time-tested, such as ETH, Monero, Litecoin.

bitcoin cash is actually really promising one. If you have a bit fiat i am pretty sure it worth to invest.

For me still trust the old coin that has high value as favorite coin this year, Ethereum is an old coin that is progressing well and able to be in the crypto market to compete with some other big coin in cryptocurrency.
So far the population of Ethereum users continue to experience good improvement, this is certainly in line with the price that returned improved after few weeks yesterday drop drastically

my favorite alt still Decred (DCR), Monero (XMR), Ethereum Classic (ETC) because in my opinion this altcoins has a pretty good potential for the future

My favorite altcoin to hold right now is probably BAT and WiCoin/Unikoin Gold when they're released I think all three of these have a lot of potential in the future.

although i am a regular investor in altcoin and most of my profit comes from trading altcoin, and in currently condition i will chose Etherium for trading, in fact still etherium has a good potential to increase and hope that very soon you will see a remarkable change in the price of Etherium.

Im holding this year Ethereum, Waves, and Bsd. Actually there are many altcoins that has a potential but these was the altcoins my favorite so far. Well, Im aiming to earn more btc and looking for other altcoins to add in my portfolio.

This year I got quite a lot of favorite alt coins, my favorite of last years that still survive until now is Monero, and then I also like BTS it gives me a good profit and now , I am holding Neo and Iota, I think both of them is a good coin to used in trafing

i guess im gonna go with ethereum no one i guess will pass ethereum still for me it is the best altcoins in the market but obviously when we depend in the market value no one defeat the ethereum and i guess it has potential to become like bitcoin.

I have a lot of favorites this year because a lot of them made me big profits. I can start with Status token, they raised good amount in ICO and it pumped multiple times after ICO. I can also count Edgeless, they are still in early phase of their game but it would be huge. It made me a lot of profit too. I can also mention Coindash token, even though I didn't realize my earning yet I have full support of this coin.

My favorite are NEO, WAVES and ADEX coz i really made a big profit from them. Adex is one of the successful ICO and when it was released, i really made a great profit from it. Neo and Waves are both pumping now which is really good.

My favorite so far is ADX. Everyone was witness to how ADX grew from a few cents worth to more than a dollar in just more than a month. There are other coins that performed good as well. And there might be some more as we are still in August.

NEO, PAY, CVC, CAT, ZRX, DNT. I hold all of those and like them so far. Many of these coins will make people rich for sure

I think the best altcoin to minr is the waves coin because this altcoin for sure will increase in the future so if you mine this coin now you get a lot of waves because the price of this coin is very cheap and for sure in the next few years or months it will become hundreds dollars price . If you mine this hold it for few years to earn a lot of money. You can try this alsp ethereum classic, taas , qtum and komodo this 4 altcoin is cheap price less than 10 dollars price.

Neo and Waves? I agree with your opinion, these two altcoins are at the top and prices continue to rise in 2017, but is it possible the waves and neo will become popular in the future.

It is very difficult to answer this because there are many good coins but in our portfolio we have a few good ones like INSN, JNS, DENT, BQX, MCO, CENTRA, NEO, ETH, COSS, IFT,  ROCKET and few others but we are not like big whales. BCC now sounds staggering with a very fast rise, the risk of rising and falling prices in the market is the risk of people who have coins on the market, wait when prices in the market go up and that is your wealth.  :D

Eth becomes the most superior altcoin in terms transaction value and capitalization. holding eth is good option to invest, because it has potential to become even bigger. and Waves is the altcoin i hold with small portions, i see he has bright hope to make pretty profit.

Favourite altcoin will probably depend on what time of the year you invested I guess, If you invested very early in the year I suppose the best altcoin will have to be Stratis, from about  $0.06 to all time high of over $10 but still about $6 which is still 100x

I think it is relative to allcoin stuck someone buying or investing for which coins.

My altcoin favorite this year is because the ethereum has a very good potential for a decent future in long-term investing. will definitely be lucky because in the movement shows if an increasingly price shows ethereum up. This was probably going to happen so it will catch up to the bitcoin

To be honest, I'm not really into altcoins. Bitcoin is the only coin I trust, however, altcoin is a good investment and trading medium. So, i still have to choose some altcoin, and DENT is one of the altcoin i am most interested in.

Well, my choices of altcoins to hold this year are bitcoin cash, etherium, and monero. Because i can see just so much potentail when i look at all these alternative coins. And i personally think that they can really become very valuable coins in the future. I even consider holding them for about two years or more because i rust in them and i am confident that they will really give me a lot of profit in the years to come.

Etherum is a good coin for holding. Yes after 2 or 3 years it will give you good returns. But don't have trust on Bitcoin cash and Monero. BCH is good for day trading long term investment I think it will not worth. For me Waves is worth for long term investment I have few coins.

Waves is looking promising and it has an ability to give good profits in long term but still I believe that ETH is the best coin when it comes to an long term investment in altcoins as you cannot have same level of trust in other coins as most of them will disappear or will crash and won't be in position to recover back and even if ETH drops it can rise back in future.

Almost all coins this year are my favorite coin. Because all the coins invested compared to last year have made money for their investors and this seems to continue for a while.

Is bitcoin cash an altcoin? If yes then it is my favorite,  even though it is hated my other people because of becoming the brother of bitcoins, their price was good so i like them. But if not then I'll have to go on ethereum which is second of the most great prices in this altcoins. So i like them, I have a lots of them still pending ilon my wallet. I probably go to ethereum, it is my favorite. Everybody loves it because it is a good thing when it becomes to investment, I also saw a lot of potential in them like what everyone saw on them. I have a lot of eth still holding them in my wallet hoping to have a bigger profit. Eth is the only altcoins I'm holding till now. Because I know that they will grow like what happened to bitcoins. I would have to say IOTA and NEXUS, they both have a lot of potential , still in their infancy like most crypto's. great team. Good charts great vision. And great percentage gains so far.

for me altcoin I use often is ethereum and waves, long term and short term storage is very profitable for me, because between ethereum and waves both have good potential, let alone a bounty always use eth and waves to send their coin

On my favorite coin, i can list MGO, Waves, Ether. In this position, both of them are more potential and such kind of coins are very profitable for trading and holding. The coins of above list are used by many other ICO.

My favorite altcoin to hold for 2017 is bitcoin and ethereum. I choosing bitcoin cause in our country it has a high exchanging rates and transaction that can help me earn more profit. I also like ethereum cause it has also a high exchange rate and i think it has a chance to rise its value. But either way , i like them both.

I think as a newbie I want to hold Litecoin why? Because on my research, litecoin is a peer-to-peer Internet currency does not has enormous fee and can enables instant to anyone in the world. Litecoin in my opinion is decentralized payment network which is cannot be control or something like that cannot be prevented by the authorities. And also it has a faster transaction confirmation times which some base markets make them useful.

Another alt to look into and it is actually at a good price to guy into right now is Hshare, it trades on Binance but a very attractive coin. It has going to the 30's and 40's now taking a huge loss today at 9 ..10 dollars. Worth looking into.

Eth, Strat and Ltc are my flagship altcoin this year. Because it gives me a huge profit. Bitcoin that i hold untill today has grown more than x4 since january. They are good altcoins, that's what makes me dare to hold them.

I earn few altcoin in this year. Like riya, bqx, shadow token, zen, cdt, opt, proxy, ixt, xuc and couple of coins. I love to hold some coins. Like bqx, shadow, opt and ixt. Because my little experience those coin will bump hardly in future. Doesn't matter what altcoin it is if you hold for 1/2 years you can profit from it a lot (in my opinion). Happy treading...;)

I choose a good coin in fundamentally for a long-term hold. Altcoin from a solid team of founders and their project objectives has advantages than others coin that can solve problems in the fintech and starup industries so the demand for coin continues increase. Those coins are like: ETH, DASH, Monero, WAVES and OMG

ETH and LSK are probably the most sound choices.

That said, I'd personally prefer to hold two promising altcoins that are currently just ICOs. These are KiKKiK (https://www.reddit.com/r/ICOAnalysis/comments/72qpil/ico_daily_27_sep_kik_ico_raises_nearly_100_million/) , which hit $100 million in funding today, and Kudos (https://www.reddit.com/r/KudosProject/comments/6zv1nq/welcome_to_rkudosproject/), which aims for almost half of that. Both of their roadmaps look promising in the long-term, and I'll need to sit on both for 6-18 months for a worthwhile profit.

The name of the game and the runner up going under everyones radar is of course Diamond, DMD. Its as it portrays itself to be, its scarce (only 4.38M, only 2.5M in circulation), its been around for a long time=2013/2014= good token spread on the few coins that are available, making it secure and its getting increasingly valuable. Its brand, anyone would want to add DMD to their portfolio. Its a bank, shielding your assets when its stormy. Its soon going to be listed on more exchanges so thats good. Its POS so anyone can mint/stake it. You dont have to use heavy hardware stake, its thus enviromentally friendly. The design of the coins make the amount of DMD extremely scarce. 1million of the mined/minted 2.5M DMD are currently sitting in masternodes (you need 10000 to set up a masternode and will earn around 9dMD/day at todays rates) and will be sitting there for a forseeable time. The mentality of the people/community is to grab and hold. The devs have to encourage people to sell so that market has some liquidity. Go figure...

DMD is preparing for the next leg up so if youre interested, buy some still relatively cheaply on bittrex, some popcorn and watch it fly to 350k-400k satoshis from todays 280k (or 11 USD/coin) trading sideways. Decide if you want to hold and stake waiting for a higer price or sell. Staking is profitable on this coin while waiting. DMD will survive an ironbath if the price of BTC drops, it will stand tall as it has during past dips in BTC. DMD will shine if BTC goes up because of nice influx of fresh BTC into altcoins, some of it inevitably going towards DMD. DMD is a small little safe haven island. Have a good one.

OK Coin is good coin I earn well from them this make my investment almost triple so that is why I like okcash and so that is why this is my favorite coin.

I am very positive about Opus Tokens (OPT) because of the burning of the remaining tokens that are not sold during the ICOs. That is a very good point they have made and will for sure boost the trust and confidence of people on OPT. AVT is another, getting sold out in a few minutes is an indicator that there is a good and smooth flow of the project soon.

Bitcoin is my favorite CRYPTOCURRENCY, but I would like to make it clear, BITCOIN is not an altcoin. Answering your question, I'll say LITECOIN. Litecoin is the third best cryptocurrency and second best altcoin (next to ethereum), but I've chose litecoin over ethereum because of one thing that made it one of the top altcoins: FAST TRANSACTION SPEED. Litecoin has been very convenient, as per my experience, when it comes on the speed of my transactions with litecoin. Not only that, but it also offer low transaction fee that made me amazed by it. I have already tried sending litecoins from my one wallet with 0.001 LTC transaction fee, and it didn't took so long to arrive at my other wallet (about 3-5 minutes only, I think, before it arrive). That's way faster than bitcoin and ethereum.

I'd go with Monero any day of the week. It's completely community driven meaning that marketing is almost nonexistent, which means that virtually no hype has been generated over the past few months about it, even though it's one of the most realistic and usable altcoins out there.

Monero has been valued at around par with ETH, before ETH got pumped because it was able to facilitate ICOs.

I'd expect XMR to climb up to at least ETH's price level right now by the end of next year.

I have gotten into altcoin for 2 months so far and i have a fruitful experience. I always love to have dividend stocks in real life and so i did try out POS coins as i thought that would be a good source of passive income. However, what is troublesome is the truth about running the computer 24/7 in order to enjoy the POS which is not what i want. So when i get to know about neo, i realise it can be the idea choice for my passive income. You can just leave neo on your own wallets and weeks later you can claimed the free gas and sell them for fiats.

I don't know what coins to hold this year.  I want to hold waves and dash coins but I am not sure if they will continue to rise up in the future.  i am holding eth, mne, storj and onions at the moment.  I sometimes participate in trading.  I want to invest in another coin that can be of good growth for 2018 but I don't know what is it yet.

Ethereum is my favorite altcoin, i love this coin because their adaptation skill was very high. They can know how to handle the problem in any situation in crypto currency world. Therefore, developers of this coin was not stop developed the ethereum because they believe that in the future they can have a possibility to replace the position of bitcoin.

Unfortunately, not all coins respond to the bitcoin pump as some are just so dead, although very few. It is funny however how bitcoin usually have so much great effect on other altcoins. Now with the market shooting up proportionally to bitcoin pumping up, then my bitcoin is still the best. However, STRAT, NEO and some other few coins still do have great prospects and they are worth buying.

i really like DMD (Diamond). High staking reward compared to other altcoins. Low coincap compared to other altcoins. Did quite well in the last couple of months.
