Are you sure $1000 each? Yesterday I was in contact with them and they offered me $2600 each. Don't get it if the suddenly stomp down the price so much in one day.

We need to reach a number of 200 to get that price, payments will be direct to Baikal once we have the numbers ready. Shipment in few days after payment of group buy.

That sounds like a lot of headache, all 200 orders paid direct to Baikal from multiple sources/buyers. You know some will probably not pay/short on the transfer, or other unforeseen obstacles. The question is would they still honor that price for the ones that did pay.

While I don't think this is real, $1000 a unit IS more realistic, and if they get it out before Bitmain gets their D3 out, they could actually come out ahead.  Otherwise the D3 will destroy them.

Check out the Baikal website.  There is contact info there.  I've emailed him to confirm the legitimacy of this.  Their response:

"I can say I never offered this price to anyone."

I tried to tell him that the D3 absolutely destroys their pricing model, and they'd be wise to do something like this... but I think it fell on deaf ears.

Those who are serious please register their interest as of now we have not even reached 100 quantity, we need MoQ of 200 to get this price from Baikal. And when MoQ reached everyone will make payment directly to baikal to receive direct shipments.

The op has yet to provide any meaningful details indicating this is legit.  This has all the smells of a scam.

Yeap i agree that look like a scam and not a good one. Just a buy account post some group buy offer and vanish.

But for moment we only state about on many u would buy and maybe reach the 200 spots needed, we gonna see if he serious on offer at this point.

Is not so hard to find pretty fast a trusted escrow to do thing working up ;) so just focus for moment and people are u buying it ?

I am not sure about this, but i read that in past baikal already did some weird cost price.

Find the Baikal website.  It has contact info on it.  Reach out to the them.  They respond, quickly.  They will tell you if this is legit or not.

That pretty stupid from Baikal ... They are stuck with this ASIC, no one want to buy it anymore at this price.
Drop price to what buyers want will at least reduce damage loss, and back to the game with a real and competitive product is the right way for Baikal ...

To pile on a little bit here is the arithmetic:

BM is selling a D3 for delivery in late Nov for $1450. (1450/15)*2 = $194  

$1000 is 5X this number.

An additional benefit for Baikal, is the opportunity not many companies get, of flushing the production line and inventory of an older model and moving on. Everyone queuing up to purchase a 2Gh/s model can do the numbers.

So there are several options:

1) You take the money for 200 units and just run.

2) The design solution for your 2 Gig miner is a higher cost one and you just can't go any cheaper.  

3) You don't have enough development money for a follow on product and are liquidating the business.


If you are long term thinkers, I would just be upfront. At this time though, your business model is OBE.

LOL, what is the actual price that BAIKAL ask for their miner now?

baikal's current business model works for seller's market, just like several months ago when dash and most alt coins were in low price and miners are used to 12 months+ ROI...
however, now it's buyer's market, because there are lots of competitions right now, and miners have way more options, so they can compare...which is important...
if baikal still think 12 months ROI is OK to sell, the picture will be ugly for them

I am Interested to buy one or two, but I think it is too expensive...
ROI maybe after 4-6 Month, cant check every coin/algorithm.

Hi $3000 is too high, because after customs fee and Italian VAT (22%) it would be around $3700~3800 with ROI time of 130~140 days absolutely not cost-effective for me. I like Baikal miner but not with this ROI ratio, 75~90 days would be acceptable but 60~74 days are better.

I love how they are making fun of potential customers, very professional, lol  ;D ;D ;D

Same boat here custom + VAT is 20% i dont gonna more them 1k per ASIC, i can push to 1k25 maximum ... Other way i never gonna buy this thing ...

Well at this point in time it is not worth $1,000.00 imho....they have  a week to 10 days shipping...thus.....that would put us into September.....D3's ship 1st couple weeks

If after september 15th, they can offer some decent price. for example, $500 per miner, i would consider buying several...
still, this machine will not show any value on x11 mining, as the monster miners are coming, but for other algos, x13/14/15/Quark/Qubit...$500 is still a good deal...

the catch is ...with what they have invested in developing this machine ..they would be better off just mining it at this point asap....

the extra time now getting it to consumers makes no sense.....they are that far behind (imho)

100% scam, they won't sell for that price. We had a group buy going a few weeks ago for 100 units at 2500$. They might of reduced the price a bit but I dont think they would sell them for 1000$
