Drop price to what buyers want will at least reduce damage loss, and back to the game with a real and competitive product is the right way for Baikal ...

To pile on a little bit here is the arithmetic:

BM is selling a D3 for delivery in late Nov for $1450. (1450/15)*2 = $194  

$1000 is 5X this number.

An additional benefit for Baikal, is the opportunity not many companies get, of flushing the production line and inventory of an older model and moving on. Everyone queuing up to purchase a 2Gh/s model can do the numbers.

So there are several options:

1) You take the money for 200 units and just run.

2) The design solution for your 2 Gig miner is a higher cost one and you just can't go any cheaper.  

3) You don't have enough development money for a follow on product and are liquidating the business.


If you are long term thinkers, I would just be upfront. At this time though, your business model is OBE.

baikal's current business model works for seller's market, just like several months ago when dash and most alt coins were in low price and miners are used to 12 months+ ROI...
however, now it's buyer's market, because there are lots of competitions right now, and miners have way more options, so they can compare...which is important...
if baikal still think 12 months ROI is OK to sell, the picture will be ugly for them

Hi $3000 is too high, because after customs fee and Italian VAT (22%) it would be around $3700~3800 with ROI time of 130~140 days absolutely not cost-effective for me. I like Baikal miner but not with this ROI ratio, 75~90 days would be acceptable but 60~74 days are better.

Same boat here custom + VAT is 20% i dont gonna more them 1k per ASIC, i can push to 1k25 maximum ... Other way i never gonna buy this thing ...
