I have 2000 $ and I invest in SC all my money. I buy SC in 240 sat. and a dont know what I must doing. Hold or sell? I would like to have at the end of the year, $10.000. Any suggestions?

I think everyone would like 5x returns annually.  I hope you're not coming into crypto thinking it's an easy way to get rich.  If it were that easy then everyone would do it.  Before you start doing tons of trades read the below link.  Also, my recommendation is to find a few durable coins like BTC and ETH and put your cash into that... at least until you have more skills.

Compared to other Altcoins, Siacoin has at least a technical concept and a working implementation of it. Unfortunately development appears to be quite slow and the software is currently not suitable for mainstream consumption. I still think it will recover due to the reasons I've mentioned. Once it has recovered remember this lesson and perhaps convert your portfolio to Bitcoin.

It is better to diversify your investment next time. However it is possible for SC to go back to 300 level.

If SC is falling against BTC, you can always trade your SC for BTC and then buy back same quantity of SC at a lower price, and have some free BTC as well. Only if you know what you're doing though - but this is a third option to keeping everything or selling everything.

When it is falling, then pick a coin that you have researched and that you think is undervalued... don't just pick something that is rising for no apparent reason, because these are likely to fall quickly.

Why did you place all your money in just one coin? It's not a wise move to put it all in one basket, do you have other coins that you are eyeing on though? It's going to be hard to reach that $10,000 when you only invested in just one coin.

Actually just sia can make your money $10.000 however even it has huge potential, you should also buy other coins you can make more money than $10.000

Siacoin has a lot of coins and a lot of capitalization now, I think there is little chance for a big pump in the near future, in addition, SC has a limited field of application

Like the other guy that commented on this thread wrote that it would take a while for the OP to make that $10,000 since people don’t really know when they will get that money out if something good happened with the project.
$10,000 might not seem like a bunch of money by then because you might make more money within the time-frame that you deposited the money into that coin you mentioned. It would require some person with a large amount of money to make that coin to get that investment to turn into $10,000 depending on how much he actually puts into it.

I think you took the wrong move. It's the best to choose waves. So if you have more money invest in waves. A good news will come in upcoming day. And hold your sc tightly you will get the proofit.

Siacoin is a good coin, a few weeks ago i was advicing some users to buy it, because it is a good coin and it has a good team that takes care of the project.
The only problem is that its price is frozen, and its dropping a lot.
It was about 800 sat a few months ago, now it is at 200/each
Surely it can go up, but it will take some time, but it has future and maybe that time will be in 2019 or a bit sooner.

I like this coin too, but it's wrong to invest all your money to one. Choose 3-5 coins at least.
For example, BELA haven't been pumped from April.

No sia is just a bad investment. You should sell this bag and look for interesting icos. There are many good projects while sia is just old and forgotten. Remember one thing, always invest in new things as they can make you a lot of money.

$2000 is a huge investment to put only on 1coin which is SC if you are after a 10000$ at the end of the year I dont think it would be possible with what you did. I suggest you sell your SC coins and go trade others at a regular basis doing the the buy low sell high. That would be more practical and more profitable if you know what and when to buy.

What a depressing read, in that link a user invested 2.4 millions dollars in BTC and then invested in altcoins in the high part of the bubble and now he only has 800k this show to us the problem of starting trading when you do not even know what you are doing, avoid trading if you are not going to put the effort in understanding how trading really works.

SC is a good investment sure, but it did just go through a cycle where it pumped x25 and now it's been bleeding to death. It will come back to life again one day and probably pump to a new all time high but if you get in now, be prepared to baghold a long time. Most people in crypto have no patience at all though.

It won't work. SC is not going to improve that much. The supply is gigantic and demand is low. They are not even unique or most user friendly. Check Storj for example, which has the same business model and a nicer user interface!

You better diversify and have 30% percentage of your money in high risk coins and 70% in more stable ones. If you want to take massive risk for massive return, then invest all your money in ICOs and new coins which are recently introduced and their price is not skyrocketed!! It's better to put your money in coins with lower number of coins in circulation.

I too think waves would have been (and still is) a more promising option. However, I would wait for the next pump before selling. These days a lot of alts are getting pumped again, and I'd would wait for SC to be higher than the price I've paid it before selling. And when it's higher, if you still want to ride SC then at least put a stop loss at a price when you are still positive.

It's wrong to put all your money on just one coin, if that coin's price crashes, your investment is gone. Instead, spread your money into different, promising coins. Also, I don't think it's wise to invest in SC, Waves for example has a lot more potential, so does Ripple and quite a few less known coins.

Not so good idea. You've taken so much risk on that action. You shouldn't invest all if your many in just one option. You must have tangible option. Consider this, what if that coin falls ? You'll lose all of your money while if you split it up to several reliable cryptocurrency, you can have a wide range of option where you can invest most of that amount by using a good judgment. But if you beleive in SC that much, so be it. Who knows, that might be your lucky coin in the future. Just be patient.

In my opinion, this is a good price to buy SC but you will have to make long or medium term investments because SC will need time.

Wow, its nice to find someone like me on this world hahah, I have 0.10 worth of siacoins in my wallet, i really believe in their project, i like how they make it run, it looks like they really want to have success with their project.
But the price is gonna be quiet for some time, i think it will start growing again in a few months

Well, it depends on the meaning of $2000 in your life. If you can afford losing it all without influencing your daily life, I'd say go for it. Otherwise I discourage overinvestment on alt coins.

DGB has 8.75 billion coins in circulation and I think it will take a very very long time for the price to go up.

It is best to choose the wave or invest a little on it to avoid risk. You can invest in other currencies that you think have potential. Be careful before investing in something. I like ETH, CFI, ETC, ;D you can refer to the bitcointalk article to make a wise decision when investing.

I agree -- I feel like you probably wasted $2000. But at least you'll be able to get back most of that by dumping it when SC increases in value by a few sats -- just watch the markets on it and you'll be okay. I have been holding SC for a while now (nowhere near $2k worth) and I lose more and more faith in it each day.

In a way you are right, many projects only last a few years so it is a mistake to think you are going to hold an altcoin for a long time, it is better to think about altcoins as short term investments, one that you are willing to drop at any moment, since there are only a few altcoins worth holding for the long term and I do not think siacoin is one of those.

It's a good time to buy siacoin now. It's as close to it's bottom you will ever see I think. It is a main player in the storage game. But with $2000 you could have bought the mining box instead https://minebox.io/. Although you might not make much from that until the service catches on and is getting used a lot.

Do your investments in a controlled way, otherwise you will lose your money. I recommend investing in Zencash and Shift.

It is a good move mate, do it.. Siacoin has never been so cheap, it is at 200 satoshis each coin, you would easily double your money if siacoin recovers from that bearish trend.
But i think that some people in this thread is right, better if you put one thousand in a coin and the other thousand in siacoin, i think that is more fair, isn it? and if siacoin freezes (i hope no) you wont lose much time.

Yeah it's better to observe first the market capacity of the coin and in fact right now the altcoins speculations is not that profitable and you won't even determine what will be the outcome in the future. How sad if it freeze for a long time that would be such a big loss of time,  you will have to wait for longer time; merely cause you stress on your mind. You cannot depend on what's siao coin did before with the price, because it maybe the signs of the crash of the coin, so you better option for other coins which could possibly rise higher next month like pillar or encrypto tel.

Definitely not the best of the move as you maximise the risks.

A not bad investment. I also invested a little bit last week. Because the price is extremely cheap nowadays. And there is a good potential for the project i believe we will make good profit with in a few months  ;)

It looks like all alts are rebounding and the price of SC too has climbed quite a bit. I have some and I wouldn't sell them before they recover at least 75% of their peak price.

Some rules:

Never go all in.
Never chase a pump.
Never realize losses.

Siacoin is a solid project, you need to hold your bag until profitability.

Note that even though SC (Siacoin) has its BTC value down from 800 in the past months, its FIAT value is still the same.

The main reason it is down is because of the surge in BTC price.

Siacoin is a solid project (team, tech, product, etc) and is one of my top picks for long term holding.

That is a sensible choice but the issue is that many people get excited about the possibility of making a lot of money and then invest all their money in a single coin, they may get lucky once in a while but most of the time the market is brutal and punishes any mistake that you make, that is why before investing it is important to read about trading strategies, if you do then it is unlikely you are going to be trapped in this same scenario.

This is not a good trade to put all your egg in one basket. Infact there are dozen of amazing coins you can put some of investing too. I am not telling sc is good. But I tell you its too slow. Look it stuck in 160 sats.

But finally there are some coin can be determined as the best coin, and in this time seems to be a golden chance for a lot of people to get the more coin. The price of every coin looks very cheap right now. This good for all.
