Title: [ANN]Metaverse Mining Info Post by: metaverse-project on September 04, 2017, 04:33:05 AM Metaverse is the first public Chinese blockchain project.
The Metaverse Token - Entropy The token used by Metaverse is called Entropy (ETP). A total of 100 million ETP will be issued through a combination of Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) and PoW mining; similar to Bitcoin, the smallest unit of Entropy is 1 x 10-8 ETP. ETP can be transferred and traded on Metaverse and will be an important factor deciding the miner of each block after MVS transitions to the PoS protocol. The security of ETP is guaranteed by the ECDSA (Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm). ETP is not a new form of digital currency – instead, it represents the equity of Metaverse. Therefore, the price of ETP will not be anchored on any legal currency or cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin, but will depend on the demand for ETP as well as the development of Metaverse’s ecosystem. ETP will be used to measure the value of smart properties in Metaverse or as collateral in financial transactions. Additionally, fees applied on Metaverse (to create new smart properties, register a new Avatar, designate yourself as an Oracle or invite trusted institutions to verify the assets and identities on Metaverse) must be paid in ETP. ETP Distribution Mechanism (1) ICO and community building In the blockchain field, ICOs are common and the default method of token distribution. In January 2014, Bitshares launched an ICO lasting 200 days. Ethereum launched an ICO which raised a staggering 25,000 Bitcoin in July 2014. DigixDAO and Lisk also launched their ICOs in 2016, as did the controversial TheDAO project. NEO also successfully raised 2,100 and 6,119 Bitcoins in October 2015 and September 2016 respectively. Metaverse Project (MVS) has distributed approximately 22.6 million ETP on its first Initial Coin Offering (ICO). Another 27.4 million ETP will be used to set up Metaverse to support blockchain ICO projects conducive to the Metaverse community, facilitate investment in activities that benefit Metaverse’s ecosystem, and reward major contributors to the community. (2) PoW and PoS mining Additionally, about 30 million ETP will be distributed as block rewards to those who help maintain Metaverse’s system through PoW mining, which is also called ETP mining. The block difficulty of Metaverse will adjust to match the network’s computing power. The targeted block generation time is 23 seconds and the reward for mining each block is 3 ETP. Block time and block reward are set as standard parameters; below is a graph of the amount of ETP that can be obtained through PoW mining against time in years. Thanks for pointing out the shortcoming of the title. For the Chinese regulation of ICO, allowing me to explain it a little bit. The regulation forbids those illegal ICO but not for those finished ICO. The specific instruct of finished ICO not come out yet. For Metaverse, it finished its ICO on September 2016 and it's not in the censorship list of 60 ICO entities which published by Chinese government. Metaverse team is positive for the regulation as certain regulation is good for blockchain industry. Wrong approach on the forum announcement. People are still is the midst of not understanding the China thing and that is throwing them off, plus the ICO terms are going to confuse them. Try waiting a week and rewriting the whole thing, that way they can see that China is fine and maybe they will be more perceptive.

I had copied and pasted the seed but had not saved at the point of the crash. Now the wallet won't connect. Tried deleting the 'mainnet' folder and restarting but to no avail. Any ideas anyone? Network hashrate is "estimated" there is not a physical way to know 100% correctly. The estimation depends on what the pool operator puts in the "estimated block time" This time was 14 seconds for ethereum (for which the open ethereum pool is designed for) and most pools keep this number. Metaverse has a 24 seconds theoretical block time (32 seconds real block time) I have decided to use 24 on dodopool, thinking this will give a better indication. This however may or may not be wrong. I am not sure. edit: on a manual calculation: dodopool has around 80-90GH/s and mines around 140-150 blocks consistently of the last 1000 blocks. If we assume 140 blocks and 80Gh 140 / 1000 = (dodo hashrate) / (network hashrate) 140 / 1000 = 80 / NH NH = 571.42Gh so 24 seconds gives a rather good estimation. The network hashrate on metaverse.farm is correct. I have verified this with the Metaverse core team and they confirmed my hashrate is the correct value. It is calculated on block difficulty and block time. In terms of you getting a low hashrate, can you tell me what you're mining with, where you are (country), and where you're seeing this low hashrate, is it on the website or your actual client? I store the reward as a raw value in MySQL which is also stored in redis, and then calculate it for the payouts. PHP also does the same which is the API you see. I missed out Floor() on my PHP calculations. This is done via cron job and then varnish serves the static content. "Technical words" - You're talking to someone who works as a TSE for a company which services large banks, Microsoft, Google... Your users seem to enjoy lack of innovation and high fees. Network hashrate is "estimated" there is not a physical way to know 100% correctly. The estimation depends on what the pool operator puts in the "estimated block time" This time was 14 seconds for ethereum (for which the open ethereum pool is designed for) and most pools keep this number. Metaverse has a 24 seconds theoretical block time (32 seconds real block time) I have decided to use 24 on dodopool, thinking this will give a better indication. This however may or may not be wrong. I am not sure. edit: on a manual calculation: dodopool has around 80-90GH/s and mines around 140-150 blocks consistently of the last 1000 blocks. If we assume 140 blocks and 80Gh 140 / 1000 = (dodo hashrate) / (network hashrate) 140 / 1000 = 80 / NH NH = 571.42Gh so 24 seconds gives a rather good estimation.
