The gov never do something permanent. They order this, and order that, just like open or close the windows.

Well, we could never know what exactl was the exact reason for this decision, there are a lot of political decisions taking place in the background. It is very surprising to her tho with chinese having the top mines in the market. Also, there are a lot of scammy ICO;s out there and maybe they are trying to protect people from being scammed. We will see how this will impact the crypto market. BTW, you have enough coins to move out of China :D

you know better than me but what your government has said is pretty normal. they are just restricting the unregulated and full of scam ICO market that currently is pretty active. i don't really see anything wrong with that. in fact i would love to see others do the same as well.

Indeed, good to hear that he is aware whats happening. I think only ICO's are shutdown but not the other cryptos. Good for China if one day they come up rules how to regulates this, this can also protect the investors.

Actually I do believe in you, you guys have a different constitution there other country like in the Philippines, I do agree to you that governments in China only do thing temporarily, they will soon stop banning crypto and for that to happen some investors need to take some actions, there is too much business man in china that uses crypto so there is a high probability that crypto will be legal again in China.

The significant effect would  dependable on whether more governments will follow suit or just adopt a different strategy.

Is phrase 各类代币发行融资活动 related to ICO-tokens-issuing or it has a "more wide meaning", including, for example "issuing BTC via mining" ?

A word of advice: don't go boasting about how many coins you have - it just invites thieves to try to dox you in order to steal them.

Thats really big holding and I think you should not expose yourself anywhere like this, if your government will know about your holding they might start to ask you about sources of those cryptos.

Current step/fud from chinese government can't be anything other than another attempt from greedy chinese bankers to buy some cheap crypto.

That's good to hear Visionfar, you're giving some motivation to us here on the forum. But, I think that China is banning the ICO tokens well, it's because most of it is a SCAM coin  they need to regulate the income and outcome of cryptocurrency. China is just regulating cyrptocurrecy.

I will store my deferential coins in their client-wallets.
For BTCs I using bitcoin-qt,
For BCHs I let it be on the chain, I do nothing about her.
For ETHs I use eth-GUI-Win64 wallet,
For ZECs I use Zcash4win-GUI wallet,
For Moneros I use Monero-GUI-beta2,
For XRPs I use gate hub,
And keep them data backuped multi places.

I have no much more against gov for banning ICOs, because in China, this time ICO is too hot and hiding many fake subjects, off cause they must be stopped.
But I think the better way is gov maybe don't totally baned them. Because if you invest ICO, you must know what the risk is, the judgment must made by yourself not gov. Then every one will learn the risk.

If do things like gov had done, the good ICOs and the bad ICOs all baned,
for one hand, that's not fare for the good ICOs, and at the other hand, people's in China will not learn the risk. They only learned if gov say no, then ICO is risky, if gov say yes tomorrow, peoples of China Will surely in madness again. They lost the ability for judging risk by them self, but that is the most important ability.

And the gov are losing the game too, because his peoples are became foolish and foolish. And difficult to manager.

I see above some friends needs some explanation for the gov's letters, My only advise is:

Don't trust any things you see, just forgot it. because that is the fact what you see, and the world will change every day.
Just believe the truth what you learned, and keep the faith what in your heart.
Trust your heart, not your eyes.

Gov's letter is nothing, you can forgot it. I have take my life in 22 years in China's stock market, I see too many gov's actions, it's all not worthy to keep in mind.

I am waiting the BTC hash rate growning higher, because in the past months the BTC's price goes a bit faster than the difficulty. so if the price down, it's natural.

Yes I think as what I've read they are only shutting ICO's because there are plenty of scams that are coming out every time there are ICO that is on going and there is nothing wrong with that, they are just trying to protect their peoples investment. After this bad news I know everything will be back to normal again.

I agree with you on pretty much everything you said there. Crypto is still extreme young and is yet to face a lot of obstacles but in the end bitcoin and crypto in general will come out on top.

In my understanding chinas government banned ICO only and not cyrpto currency as ICO are expanding faster there are alot of scam ICO were investors are been fooled. Jack Ma one of a billionier and one of a prominent person in china have invest over 2 million dollars in ICO and buying coins. Because as i see he knows that crypto currency will be give more profit than investing in a bank. We can say that chinas decisions of banning ICO have a huge impact in the bitcoin and altcoin price but it doesnt mean that chinese people will stop investing and mining crypto. If top 20 altcoin will decrease around 25 to 30 % i will buy them...

Hope that something like this will happen because we don't really want to get into fear of loosing assets due one governments rules and regulations being applied to other countries as well. Who knows to just show the power of government another country might just stand against crypto world and let us down with our investment. But as everyone is saying china is not country of trust, they always have been unstable in the rules and laws etc. So I'm pretty sure people in there country will revolt against this cyber law.  :P

And the ETH ICO madness was entirely out-of-control and risking naive investors’ funds in a plethora of scams. It became a new Xerox copy ICO every day scam. The nations had no choice but to act. And surely the SEC and other nations will follow. I think Asia acted first because their governments are less democratic and more authoritarian, so they can act quicker. The democratic nations will follow because their regulators have the same responsibility to their citizens. The wheels just move slower in the democratic nations. Asia is finely oil machine that is more efficient than the West now.

Please stop spreading the incorrect information, implying that ICOs will come back or that pre-existing ICOs can still be traded. Most people do not want to go to jail or suffer fines. Even if they regulate ICOs, these will only be tradeable on registered exchanges and will not be spendable as cryptocurrencies (i.e. not allowed to be traded decentralized). Thus these new regulated ICOs will not be very useful. It will not be the same.

Many shady exchanges and their largest traders are likely to suffer fines and threats of criminal prosecutions. Today is only the beginning of a massive global crackdown. The gears may move somewhat slowly but over the coming year there will be massive changes to the crypto ecosystem. All the hard-headed will have their fingertips burned up to their armpits as necessary for authorities to stop the rapid proliferation of investment securities scams.


There will be no greater fools to sell the ICOs to, when they are not legal.

The ICO scam model depends on selling to newbies who come in and believe these 100s of Xerox copy ICOs each have a chance to become the next Bitcoin or Ethereum.

Nobody is going to speculate on illegal ICOs, because there will be no mass market for them, thus no way to hype them.

And it is not just USA and China that are banning ICOs. Same as was the case for FATCA (a USA only law), it became enforced in every country in the world, because the USA threatened to penalize every nation that did not comply.

yes. I think everything that the government of China is doing under the regulations that prohibit ICO activity is only temporary and I think it's only to control something that if not released the regulation will be a problem for the government.

I was waiting to hear an opinion on insider. And when I finelly got it I see that everything is going to be good with Chineese bitcoiners. All those negative news about ICOs made the price drop down, but by the dynamic of the price's changing I see that there are many people who are buying bitcoin on the current minimum, just like you do. I suppose China will concentrate on mining now and that is going to be good for them, no scamm.

This is always what thr chinese governmrnt is doing, they say somehting and do something else. I think this time, china is lookig at the prices of all cryptocurrencies after they banned them, it is true that the markrt fell down a bit, after theur announcement. No doubt, china can influence the market, but of only small percent, if the people from china still favors altcoins it means that they have access and the sites are not completely banned, i think this is a way, the chinese govrrnment is showing the world, if they ban cryptocurrency it will, so we need to listen to them, but it is not happening it only affected a small percentage. I think the saying still is true, what the chinese bans, you buy.

That's good to hear but doesn't the Chinese government heavily monitor what the Chinese people say online so you should be carefull while posting about this kind of stuff online.

Lols true, this can be the real scenario: The government creates fear among their people to let them drop their coins. So they can buy the coins at the cheap rate. Then they will remove the previous order so people can buy again.

Once the coins started to rise, the government will dump their coins to get profit. Then they will start to cast fear again to their people to let them drop again their coins.

Rinse and repeat: #PROFIT

It's awesome to hear this from a person living in the most controversal country in the cryptocurrency world. But i don't think that China banned the use of bitcoin, they just banned the ICO and i don't think you will be in trouble as a simple user anyway.

Well, you can still use the virtual private network (VPN) for you not to be traced by your government during bitcoin transaction especially if you are in China.
Then to receive your cash maybe you could use paypal and western union options using your friends abroad if you have names of them. I hope this is just a temporary ban by China and realize that bitcoins will help people to be lifted up from financial difficulties.

Just like he said their government rule sometimes change so he believed that it will not be a permanent decision. Maybe in a few months or years they will suddenly change their ruling against ICO and will just put a tighter regulation. If the Chinese governmente wanted all the exchanges would be closed in less than 24 hours and their owners arrested. They have the power if they want to.

Any rumors about Bitcoin being banned in China with no concrete action is just FUD and a good buy opportunity.

We can do OTC, government allow OTC trading, they want to ban bitcoin exchange, not bitcoin!

They are making the price go down so that they can buy more. Many are mining in China and if they will ban it then it would not be good for them because they are getting income from it. Many rich people are Chinese and they have done this game few years ago that's why price go down before and they will do it again and again because there are still so many newbies in the crypto world and just a rumor would make them panic sell and the whales are waiting to get in with low prices.

Their strategy is still effective and they may do it again because many still react in the rumors whether its true or false and since many people are in Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt thus panic selling and making the price drop drastically, the whales would use the strategy until such time when people open their eyes that its just manipulation. Cryptocurrency is unpredictable that's why I believe that the ones who should invest on it are the ones who have strong risk appetite.

I think you can have a cryptocurrency coin without having to be afraid of the government's ban rule. you can be free to buy and sell. because you are essentially individual and the government should not be able to ban individuals who will be in the world of cryptocurrency.

it really doesn't matter what the news is publically saying, in the end bitcoin will always be bitcoin. a decentralized cryptocurrency that nobody can control or change without the consensus. we saw this clearly in case of bitcoin cash, they failed to change bitcoin and ended up with an altcoin.

in any case all these dramas are just temporary, they are like hiccups which will go away as fast they come to us. we need to take advantage of them instead of brooding over the small dip of 10% or less! and in the long term you will always look back at these moments and laugh.

just like I am currently laughing at all the similar situations such as back in 2015 when price took a dive from the ATH of that year ($500) and went back to $300 range. that is so dumb to even think there were people arguing about whether or not to buy bitcoin at $300. we laugh at them now that we are above $4000

I think in a lot of areas the only issue people are facing in bitcoin is the government and the unacceptancy of the bitcoin by the government of the country. ICO got ban on China doesn't mean bitcoin is fully collapse instead bitcoin will find a better way to increase up more than the highest on this year

In this night , the OTC in China is down(bitkan). So there must be a lot of actions in the future.
I don't know what exactly it is. Maybe a kind of Chinese-gov-crypto-shitcoin will born.
So you should be very careful when you see the BTC price up or down later.

My personal opinion is in every time just track the BTC-mining-cost, if the price too low to takeaway all the minner's profit, then this is the right price to begin to have more. So don't focus on gov, focus on the market and the miner will be better.

You're right about the government though. They won't ban crypto in China and even if they tried it they'd sooner or later be pressured into unbanning it. There are wealthy investors who make money from trading crypto and would be willing to bribe anyone to get back in business. Also, there's nothing to gain from banning BTC.

Ban to bitcoin can’t stop using bitcoin, VPN can be easily installed and easy to use while there are many options to get cash in which paypal and western union are the popular one. Beside all this my curiosity of knowing about china plan is becoming higher.

Yes people will for sure use some other ways to connect to crypto world. Just like you I am also curious about the objectives of Chinese government behind this decision, as China had ban it once in the past as well.
The stance of Chinese government is that ICO's are frauds and are only mean to collect money from the people. I am not ready to accept it, it sounds a lam excuse to me. I hope we will come to know the reality of this drama soon in two to three months.

the market will always give us the chance but its depend with us, will we want to try and follow the market or not. but you have a good decision to continue to have the coins and you have your power to buy more and i am sure the other people which in the same country with you will do the same as they know the crypto currency giving the chance for them to make money.

Now, I have complete my 2017 BTC investment-plan.
When the BTC goes to $3000 in last month, I have catched some of them and plus into my holding-pocket. I failed to bought them at the bottom price. But so what?
It is $5000 now.

I think in next year, the BTC's bottom price will be at the $5000 when the time goes to Aug.2018

I know Some bad country wants to kill BTC completely.

But never mind, I think the BTC will grow better with the dark ages of the world.

A big storm is rising... I can hear the sound...
Soon or later, of the whole-world market, everthing are doomed.

So my advise is:
Keep some Crypto-currencys in your left hand. like BTCs,
And keep some other asserts in your right hand. like gold.
And just hold it. In my country, many people just like me, are starting to plan the same things.

The world will change deeply, and you will stand long.

For less scam projects, it is necessary to audit all ICO projects, so this market will be more reliable and transparent for all new investors and even just people who are interested in this.

You are absolutely right. Audit reporting will help all ICO projects prove that they are not scam ;)

I've heard of several such projects. For example, DARFChain. I heard that they conduct a qualitative audit of any ICO project.
