What are your thoughts guys or is it worth to hold Btc for 5 years.

in my opinion bitcoin will continue to popular among the people and the price will continue to rise from time to time, especially for the next 5 years

I personally think a floor of $20,000 a bitcoin is a reasonable place for bitcoin to hit in the next 5 years and it's very doubtful it will go under that in th future. Of course if you listen to John McAfee he's saying $500,000 each by 2020 or he'll eat his own dick on live TV! personally I like his enthusiasm but I got the feeling he's going to be eating a bloody Hotdog/Vienna sausage on a plate.

if you hold strong bitcoin with 5 year time why not.
I want to do that. but it's hard for me, because the economic pressures that must be met every day.
so I just look for a day.
I believe the bitcoin in the future will be more valuable and fascinating.

I would guess anywhere from $10,000 to $20,000. You may not think this is a huge gain for the next 5 years but there will be down times most likely and the price won't always rise like it has this year. Even $10,000 would still be a good gain in 5 years. That would be about a 20% gain per year for 5 years which is very good for any investment.

Well if it survives these forks by the end of the year, then sure, go ahead. It is turbulent times now, a test for Bitcoin. Can it reach a consensus? Who knows...
If it can, sky is the limit.

I do not know. all possibilities can happen. even at the worst of things.
this is betting or getting rich.
but there is always a method of finding out or predicting for the future.
with the rapidly growing bitcoin to date. I'm sure for the next few years bitcoin will still be number one.

I did not look at the 5 year period, I looked at both blocking the bitcoin's development curve. Over a long period of time, Bitcoin has overcome many difficulties in the past, and this is the time when it grows the most.

Bitcoin has the brand to be a long-term coin, but 5 years is a lifetime in this space.

I think the only thing to prepare for is that it won't keep blindly going up, there'll be times that will test you. And new competitors with new tech may emerge.

Obviously it is. Otherwise why would you even bother getting involved ? Bitcoin is good in long and short term you can enjoy some good spending money after each price hike and you can then save the rest which would be your majority investment to grow larger on $$$ value and the you have enough to be financially free from worry. This is what most strive for and the true value of Bitcoin become apparent.

If you want to stay risk free and have invested earlier then holding your coins is your best bet. Or you can hold a percentage and use the rest to trade and make quick profits to invest more on bitcoin. I prefer the latter and that's what i am doing right now.  :)

It depends on if Bitcoin solves its scalability issue.  If it does, it will rally much higher.  If not, it can potentially be taken over by another coin.

For me bitcoin is really worth it to invest in the next fee years for sure the price will increase and the price range 10k dollars upto 15k dollars for me. But its depends on the demand on the market what is price of bitcoin. And bitcoin become more popular and many people also will invest to bitcoin so the price will increase. You can hold your bitcoin for longterm and you will earn profit after 5 years.

We all know that Bitcoin is so strong right now despite that scaling issues that cost bigger transactions fees, Bitcoin already reaches the $5,000 price and when this continue there is no doubt that the price of Bitcoin after 5 years will become $10,000 or higher maybe times 10, no can really tell.

I see bitcoin five years from now that many bitcoin user can be rich if their income going to save it. In the past five year i think bitcoin become popular and their will be so many bitcoin user use because here in bitcoin are easily to earned unlike to the other job. Many people become interested in bitcoin. if their are many bitcoin user i think it can affect the income and profit for selling coins in the market.

I see two scenarios, it can be worthless or worth a lot of money.

The problem in my opinion with bitcoin is that the technology stays behind of other ALT-coins. I see Ether, Iota or some other ALT-coin be more useful in real life in the future. If bitcoin isn't the number 1 crypto anymore it will fall back in price.

But no one knows ofcourse. We will see in the future, I think its a good gamble. :)

5 years for bitcoin is very long period and it's even hard to predict what will happen after 1 year. I hope that it will continue to rise and will reach at least $20 000. Another unrealistic dream - $50 000, but I think that's too optimistic to become true.
And I also believe that in next years bubble of ETH tokens ICO's will explode and and bitcoin will get stronger positions against ethereum.

Hmm no ine can predict the real price of bitcoin or what will be happen on that year since our chances is getting higher that we think bitcoin can really be more expensive this coming yearsif you had a lot of patience then you can test it all by your self better to trade it to not get bored when you're just waiting you will think about withdrawing it earn from trading while saviing.

To transfer money to a friend, my bank takes a cut for providing services. To purchase a house, I pay significant fees for registration and stamp duty charges to register my ownership in multiple books and records. Through digital labeling, the indelible record of a bitcoin transaction has the potential to eliminate such third parties (and their costs). 5 years from now i see bitcoin as a easy payment way.

i gues it would be nearly 15k to 25k  in the next 5 years because as you can see the value of bitcoin since it was born has greatly increase day by day and today its value are still increasing with small incremenets  so i gues bitcoin will soon sky rocket and touch the moon or maybe pass the moon and land on pluto?  

Remembering the recent fork that made Bitcoin's market value and demand skyrocket that is, in just 20 days, it reached the 4000$ mark after the fork, and it is already issued that there'll be another fork to happen in November. There are already speculations that before this year end, Bitcoin will reach the value of 5000$ that will sirely make it more indemand. It will also affect Bitcoin for the next years ro come, maybe, after 5 years, Bitcoin will be priced at 15000$ if there's nothing wrong to happen.

I think BTC has a fair chance of reaching USD 30k,- at one point, but I'm not sure whether 5 years are going to be enough. It will largely depend on whether Bitcoin manages to become a more mainstream mean of payments / established form of investment. The first requiring a solution to the scalability issue, the second requiring a stable market for the bigger part of the next few years.



The good (or bad) thing is, that I'm not seeing any of the alts solving this problem much better either.

I think five years from now I will use bitcoin as my life saver money. I will only uss it for an investment as savings account like an ordinary banks do. It will make my savings grow more and more I guess so intentionally this will make my future business successful,I hope. On the other hand,I'll make sure that this will give me a satisfying goal someday.

How i wish i can hold my bitcoin till the next five years to come. This is because in the next five years the market value of bitcoin will reach almost $15,000 if all things remain equal. And I equally believe more people are going to be aware and accepting bitcion by the year 2022.

It is worth it to hold btc for 5 years because I see bitcoin in prices far more than we can see now. I see bitcoin being used by more people around the globe and with price at least 2X from what we see now. It is also possible that it can be used on many groceries too for buying goods and can be used on malls as substitute for credit card. Even if that is the case, thjere is still a possibility that my predictions wont happen because what I am saying here is just a speculation.

I think that time bitcoin's value will be bigger than what others expect, and it surely will be known to many people already around the world. Maybe some companies are accepting payments in bitcoin and more and more companies are presenting their projects or products through bitcoin. Some may discover more ways to earn bitcoin and that would be good for the bitcoin world.

After 5 years, I think bitcoin is still developing and continuing to have greater value. Not impossible that it can be used for payments in shopping or whatsoever, and many big companies are also engaged to bitcoin. Bitcoin is still known by many people and I think that time there are more people talking about it and earning, saving, etc. As the status of bitcoin today is good, also its future will be good, too. As long as there will be no hindrance in it.

Bitcoin 5 years from now?. Maybe bitcoin are accepted now to use as a payment system in several countries where you can make direct payment from your wallet to restaurants, clothing lines, reservation, hotel and airlines. I expect bitcoin to have a high price in the future.

in my opinion the next 5 years btc may be more popular, and also the price may be higher, for that we must be at home here. Do not be afraid, sustenance is not where. So remain a bitcoin loyal hunter.

Absolutely yes! It is a great idea to hold your bitcoins for another 5-7 years because bitcoin has a lot of potential to reach an unimaginable price by that time. Bitcoin is a great investment asset for many people like us. I don't personally spend my bitcoin for silly things like coffee, groceries or anything else which can be bought using fiat currency. It will make you regret later.

My plan is very simple. I earn bitcoins from various sources and keep saving it. I have a plan to save it for another at least 3-5 years so that I can buy something really expensive or I may pay off a major portion of my mortgage using my bitcoin savings. So trust me, it's totally worth it to save bitcoin for another 5+ years. 

Well i will become a millionaire if i hold my bitcoin for a long time, well this is really my plan, i know bitcoin can make me rich and i believe on that. As the price continues to soar high, my hope are very high. I know bitcoin 5 years from now are very different but still powerful.

in my opinion bitcoin is one of the cryptocurrencies investments in the long term, it's can be seen from the development for 7 years it shows very good development and I am sure  5 years later  bitcoin will be in great demand and will have a high price due to the production of coins only 21 million will make this coin limited and have a good price.   :)

This year it made 5x pump and next years it will continue like that, or it will increase in price but the increase rate will be smaller compared this year. Anyway, I think bitcoin will be around 15.000 USD in 3 years from now.

Yes it has always been a good idea investing bitcoin for a long term period because it will assure you of a higher profit. I think bitcoin will increase its value up to $10000 after 5 more years so if you invest today and hold it for few years surely you can have a good profit from it.

I do believe that bitcoin will reach its value higher in the coming years so its better we make investment now if we could. I am also planning to keep my earnings for a long term investment and I am hoping that the good appreciation of bitcoin will continue so that many people who needs additional income like me will benefit.

as what we expected it btc will soon arise like what it did before. As we see bitcoin value from the start, it really gains a lot and now we are all benefiting on it. Btc will be tripled by it's value now.

The cost increment occurring with Bitcoin is great and definitely, the development will happen to reach $10000 or significantly higher. I am very hopeful about Bitcoin so $10000+ appears to be conceivable in next 5 year.

I saw the price of the bitcoin for 5 years fore from $20000 because the price is bitcoin increasing every day then I think it rightfully should be menyampai price bitcoin increased so it won't happen again but it does decrease in accordance with the movement and growth of bitcoin on the market and the number of investors it will affect developments in demand bitcoin on the market.

I don't mind about price anytime. I expect bitcoin should worldwide usage currency in everywhere globally like USD is being in usage everywhere. Bitcoin price should also increase but legalization of bitcoin in every country is best thing happen on bitcoin.

If these set then price will bump 1000$ or even more in every day chart.

Hmm, if think again your opinion, it still reasonable if Bitcoin cannot continue breakout to new ATH price.

Just looking at the previous chart (in years) of Bitcoin, I would definitely say that hodling it for 5 years is very well worth it. Even though that previous price charts will not tell you the future, it just provide proof that the technology behind BTC is so great that it is here to stay and grow even more. After that period of time that you stated above, I'm seeing it as a coin that's been adopted by our community pushing its price over $10k mark.

i think 5 years is a big time no one can say anything about the price of bitcoin so early be i think we can hope and expect that bitcoin price will continue increasing because even at that time the price of bitcoin will continue increasing and hope hope that bitcoin price at  that time will be really trading above 20000, because bitcoin price has a good potential to increase too much.

Everyone is expecting that after 5 years bitcoin is far from it's current price. There are having some minor dips at the moment and even from the past. But I know that it will make the foundation of bitcoin stronger and it's possible by that year we'll see bitcoin at possible $20,000 - $50,000, who knows?

Good question. In my view, blockchain based currencies will follow the software package lifecycle. While bitcoin will almost certainly still exist in 5 years, and is likely to be worth more than it is today, it is also likely (again in my view) that some other blockchain currency will be more popular. Just as MySpace was supplanted by Facebook, so too may bitcoin be supplanted by another currency.

Maybe 1BTC will be 10.000 - 20.000 USD.

$10,000 - $20,000 BTC in the next 5 years if far more realistic than $500,000 USD.  Market from my point of view cannot sustain Bitcoin price even at $100k in the next 5 to 10 years.  The government acceptance is still slow and there are lots of resistance especially when regulation is tackled.  Though I am not saying that there is a possiblity but being realistic, I cannot see bitcoin to reach even $50k in the next 5 years.

I think its worth it. Because for me, the future of bitcoin will be more beautiful. And i think all of us in here will become a millionaire, just be patient. Trust me it will happen.

Next 5 years? Hmm I think will cross to that price and might even break that price and reach for even 15k$ when years past remember bitcoins growth are so fast and for that years will came I also think that the adoption will became more huge and that can even tight up and became more stronger.

As of this moment, more people, comapnies and investors are now interested to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency. The demand in Bitcoin is becoming higher and ofcourse its market value. Maybe in the future, it will be legal to most of the countries and if that will happen, Bitcoin being expensive will be not surprising. I see bitcoin price after 5 years the price is very high and for sure the price around 10k upto 15k dollars after 5 years. For sure if you have hold a lot of bitcoin they have pissible you become rich better if you hold 500 bitcoin more. Holding bitcoin for longterm gives you high profit but if you choose only shorterm you can earn little only . But it depends always in the demand on the market if the price decrease or not.

Five long years from now? Maybe Bitcoin is already legal to most of the countries because as of now, more people are interested to Bitcoin on how profitable it is and with its features such as being decentralized which allows its users to freely use  their wealth. The demand is already increasing at this point so I think we can already expect for the best on Bitcoin in the future.

It is difficult to assume what will happen to bitcoin in 5 years.If it will continue to become more popular the price can go way up high on bitcoin. We will be able to earn good money on this.

It is always worth to hold bitcoins in the long term, and if you are patient enough to hold them for as long as five years then it is great, because we all believe that bitcoin can go really high in a few years, and maybe we will see a progress of that in these coming years.

As long as bitcoin continues as the times progress, these currencies will survive and become more popular. yes although altcoin appear a lot. Why? Because bitcoin is the parent of the coin itself and many people want it there now and in the future.

That's right but not all have that high level of patience to hold their coins for next 5 years as some of them will sell when its giving them good profits and some of them will start dumping their coins when they see price falling and if you will not panic and manage to hold your coins longer then it will give you best profits in future.

If it's alive and well in 2022 and catering successfully to the needs of its users then a 10,000 prediction is pretty silly. It'll be far higher than that. What people can't wrap their heads around is that the huge rises might be considerably easier as more get on board. There won't be any more coins than usual but many millions more people who want one.

In my opinion we can estimate the bitcoin now for 5 year long time because everyone knows that bitcoin is that way of making money which will not be available in the future According to increasing demand .
Here if you can see at the famous news in the past of 2-3 months than you will that many experienced people in this field made a prediction about the bitcoin and says that the value of 1 btc = $10k atleast in 2020 .

I think in about 5 years prices may reach about $20,000 by that time, easy! But I think there is a great chance it can even rise up to $100,000, and that is being optimistic. Though it would really depend on the rate of adoption bitcoins will get in that time frame. We will have to see for ourselves and it is really hard to predict the future.

5 years from now i hope bitcoin would have more stability than today. and have more balance situation bitcoin is so OP right now. as you can see btc price is too high than last year and that's what makes other signature campaign to close. because they don't have any budget to buy btc. even they're making many money. if bitcoin could go stable and balance. it would be the best for all of us.

In my opinion, Bitcoin will be legal to most of the countries, five years from now. And if that would happen, its community will be larger and will highly affect the demand in the market that Bitcoin is having. And ofcourse, if the demand is high, bitcoin's market value will also be, in short it will be more expensive. Maybe it will be valued 8000 USD after 5 years. I don't know if this sounds realistic for others. But for me, bitcoin five years from now. Bitcoin price maybe much higher that we could not be expected. And I think most of local banks would accept bitcoins. and also some countries and stores accepts bitcoin as their alternative payments which maybe we can call this another atms in reality. 5 years is too much time interval to predict any thing . As the technology is evolving there is a chance of change of the whole world. If any big war happen , if the  quantum computer comes into reality then they could harm the bitcoin price. But if bitcoin moves as smoothly as is moving now then more than 15000$ is very much possible.

Cool down the hype. History shows that pioneer technology is rarely viable for a long term. 5 years is a pretty long time considering the speed of blockchain evolution. Thus, I would bet on Ethereum or WavesPlatform, not Bitcoin.

I think Bitcoin will be killed by the one of its competitors.

In 5 years, I hope to 1) Be a Legendary member here on bitcointalk, and 2) Have much more bitcoin than I do today.  I think we'll all probably be here discussing the same things over and over, and the signature campaign problem will be worse than ever--but that's a different story.

Do I think it's worth holding for 5 years?  Hell, yes, and I plan to do that myself.  It's a good idea, as I think we'll be much higher then than we are today.  You've seen these people predicting $50,000/BTC.  That's where I think we'll be at.  And I suspect precious metals will be booming then, too.  We'll probably be in a Trump-initiated war, WW3 by then and we'll all be living in bunkers with internet access.  Bitcoin will be more popular than ever because the only things we'll be buying will be digital entertainment stuff.  You'll see.  If Trump doesn't get impeached before then.

Unlikely. If anything, it's going to be the complete opposite. Bitcoin will see a boom, whilst altcoin markets will go into complete bear mode. Ethereum is the real pioneer technology and i have serious doubts in it once ICOs get banned or cools down.

For bitcoin, even if the price doesn't move, i think that in 5 years we'll see at least triple the amount of adopters that we are seeing right now. But as adopters increase, price will naturally increase as well.

5 years is a really long time in the cryptocurrency world. Bitcoin has only existed for around 8 to 9 years in total, and we have already seen exponential growth since the day the idea of bitcoin was incepted.

Personally i think that the next 5 years are going to be the years just before mainstream adoption starts to catch up. We can definitely expect a lot of growth in terms of price, as well as growth in adopters. However, we still need a decade or so before mass adoption can happen.

I don't think bitcoin can really be killed my its competitors if it still lives the way it does nowadays. I mean, in case btc crushes due to some technical issues - sure, but in any other case - I don't think so. Obviously, the reason is not that btc is the best coin on the market. Surely there are platform offering things btc will never be able to offer. And yet when people start getting to know cryptocurrencies, they hear first about bitcoin as the oldest and the most trusted one. Among the biggest countries where btc is used and known are China and Russia, which are both mostly valuing stability, not innovations.

I think that in the next 5 years bitcoin will exist and will be making good profits for its owners during this time. It only develops and there is no reason for panic that it can become useless.

Yes, price increase with bitcoin is promised. I came to know through the friend who made me get into the bitcoin usage and 5 years from now expect a bigger growth as the user base keeps increasing with fluctuations at times. I find the friend to be financial developed through bitcoin which confirms the truth of growth.

If we look back in time, we will see that holding bitcoin has always been great thing to do. Therefor i always advise people, if they do not want to trade bitcoins and altcoins for more profit, they should hold and wait. Bitcoin has been rising in popularity this past months, and it will continue to do so. In five years maybe bitcoin will be used in most parts of the world, for day to day things.

I think it is worth to hold btc for 5years, as you can see, bitcoin price now is rising thinking how much the bitcoin price way back 2009. So, I think bitcoin is worth to wait and hold for a long time for us to gain profit, it also like you invested a money and it gain a profit in a long term. But of course you have your own thinking and knowledge and you are he one who will decide to yourself whether you wait for that long or you sell it already.
