Title: How do you keep track of all the altcoins?
Post by: MoonIsBlue on September 10, 2017, 08:57:02 PM
With SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many altcoins how do you keep track of it all?
Coins are flying left and right, falling to deep dark pits but most of them I never even get the chance to meet if you know what I mean.

What are your toughts, methods and advice ?

If you have invested in multiple coins then it can become hard for you to keep the track of all altcoins as I have invested only in ETH at a moment so its very easy for me to access it on poloniex and as I am trading only one coin so my all the concentration is on it and I actively watch the price movements and depending on that I take my decision.

Nobody can track so many of them. Whenever i tried to track more than 5 i failed. Because you need to follow everything. Slack twitter reddit ann threads and more. Everyday....
If you want only price check you can use blockfolio

The best way is just to find a system that works for you. I track each of the coins I am invested or interested in by following bittrex, I then keep bookmarks to their announcement threads and keep their slack/telegram etc channels open and check them periodically throughout the day. If you are actively looking to day trade then it will be much harder to keep track of all the coins but if you are interested in the longer term then really you only need to be up to date on all the major news regarding your coins.

Well, I use coinmarketcap to track them all.
They are good because every altcoin is there. They have even an mobile app, so it's very easy to stay tuned.

Well, based on what do you want to track and how do you want to track. If you would like to see all of them, coinmarketcap is the way. If you would like to know and explore more of new coins, ICOs are the way, and this way sites like bitcointalk ANN section, icocountdown.com, icobench.com, icochecker.com and so on. If you would like an app to track all of your coins and portfolio, then Blockfolio or Coinalarm. Also, I would strongly advise you to create one single space (physical would be the best, digital are exposed) to store all of your wallets for every blockchain you have.

The best way would be to choose a site that works well for you and you feel comfortable with tracking all the altcoins, but I highly doubt anyone would track all the altcoins. Most people only track the altcoins they are only trading with or are searching for the next best coin.

I try to keep track of my altcoin investments by always looking up at my "Trading history" tab which most of the exchanges have. But also it's quite important to invest wisely by searching the coin's reach in marketcaps than to invest foolishly in lots of altcoins.

You are obliged to track coins that you've invested especially if you put a huge amount of funds to that project, crypto currency investment requires a lot of time and patient, so it is very important that you invest on a project that truly deserves your attention.

Its never possible to keep the track of all altcoins and you will be more focused only on those coins in which you have invested and you will check only its price on daily basis and meanwhile you can search some other coin which can rise in coming time period as I have invested only in 3 to 4 coins at a moment so I keep track of only those coins without wasting time on others.

Its impossible to stay ontop of every coin.  I surf these boards and look into the coins that people talk about.  If I like it, I'll add it to my watchlist on my Blockfolio app until I decide whether to buy or not.  If I don't buy, it gets removed from my watchlist.

Its impossible to keep track all the coins

I have more than 20++ coins

Although i hope that i can monitor all but it is impossible to do that, if you would just look at your 20 coins, you would not have some other extra time to find out more coins.

My idea here: I have price widgets on my phone

I only track on coins that are big like Waves, ETH, and other top 100 coins, for coins that are under low market cap i would just ignore it. Perhaps i will check it in weeks as if it has great movement, it would show up in Coinmarketcap :p

the simple we can do to track of all the altcoins is using the history trade in each of exchanges. this is what i am do if i don't have a clue for tracking my list of altcoins and so far its really help me especially in poloniex. in poloniex, i only choose the coins and then i can see how much i am make profit and how much i lose. maybe i will search other software to help me to track my altcoin list.

Well, in the first place you are aware that there are so many Os in your post  ;D, but there are more altcoins out there. So why would you keep track of them all? It is not possible in a single day. And it is not productive either. So choose the ones you trust and invested in and then monitor them closely. That is what you should do.

I don't. There are over 1,000 cryptocurrencies if you include tokens into the mix. And each day it is growing by 5-10.

To the Chinese GOVERNMENT and all governments around the world POPCORN1 will lay some
laws for ICO crypto ..

Who ever launches an ICO those people who come up with the ICO produce a white paper a
ROAD MAP..

Now all you have to do by LAW so no one gets scammed is this..

The people holding the ICO only get paid half the money until the road map is complete ..
When they complete the road map only on completion they get the other half ..

Now if they don't complete the ROAD MAP they say their going to do then the other half goes back to the government and goes to HOSPITALS ..

So any country who holds an ICO if they fail to meet the terms of the ROAD MAP then they loose half the money ..
Plus can be done for fraud if road map not complete ..

Now why i say this because i can say i will make a rocket powered pair off boots with no intention of making them because i do not know how too..

So when people doing an ICO you will read the ROAD MAP and then decide if the project they talk about is worth putting your money into and the fact if they do not complete what they said they was going to do the government wins BUT most of all the people win anyways because the
money is going to HOSPITALS..

Plus people will wont make ROAD MAPS they know quite well they cannot do because they will get done for fraud and loose half the money they made..

And plus when doing an ICO if doing a big ICO for big money then a lawyer is needed to make sure your all above board because if your not then you will be sued ..

Thus the more ICO the more jobs for LAWYERS
The more jobs for EVERYONE..

China don't make that mistake by banning ICO just some simple laws needed to protect people..

Just think how much more money will flow in and out your country CHINA..

Goods getting bought all over the shop ..
Money will FLOW .. Grin

And yes China you would be the leader ..

Just think of WEIBO they must of had a white paper a road map..
Well what would of happened if it failed?..

NOTHING  Wink..
Because they done what they set out to do..
The only thing would of been no customers and that is in the lap of the gods if people like what you do..

So the same with ICO if they complete the ROAD MAP then that's all they can do it's up to the public to use it what ever they said they would do in their ICO ..

And just think if they fail You the GOVERNMENT will get the other half for your hospitals for free..
WIN WIN situation ..

The fact it helped the poor anyways ..
Why because if you can afford to buy CRYPTO then you wont be to angry it going back into your public services if the ICO was a scam..

And the best no false promises on ROAD MAPS..

There is an opinion that human's mind can operate no more than 4-7 things at once. I think it is a good theory. That's why you just can't watch for more than some of altcoins. If you will try to get more - the quality of tracking should suffer. Look here (https://www.livescience.com/2493-mind-limit-4.html) if you are interested in.

If you are investing in multiple coins or planning to invest in multiple coins then you will have to make a good strategy to track all your coins.
First make a list of coins which are your choice of interest and make a note of how much you have invested in it.
Then whenever you find a suitable time to check your coins , track the coins down as per your list and calculate how much you have made out of it.
If your target is achieved then you may sell your coins if not keep tracking the coins and make notes whenever possible.

Here the main factor is that we can't make sure  that which of them will fluctuate more and which of them will be less .
But here a new thing for you is that you can make and idea if you can make eye analysis over the trade in the all coins markets .
If you will make hardwork to see the market trade then you will found that there are some coins which are fluctuating much daily by -10% to  +10%
So if we can see such types of the coins then we can make big earnings daily .
But if you want see only the notification or direct to see the fluctuations in the market of the more active coin then you can found a app at playstore which is a better way to remain in touch with the fluctuations of the cryptocurrency market .
i forgot the name of the app , but you can search for the altcoins notification at playstore
You will be able to get easily ;)

Do your research and also take other peoples advice. But always make sure you do enough research about any given ICO you are looking to invest in. The more research you do, the more comfortable you should feel with your investment decision and the better the decision you make when investing in either upcoming or ongoing ICOs.

Its very difficult to keep a track record of so many altcoins . What i follow is i buy few coins after studying the coins complete details like whitepaper, following their social media and keeping a track record of their milestones and on. I also proportionately diversify the investment so that keeping a record would be easier and less burden on my daily schedule. I would still buy long term benefit coins and hold them for good returns.

You can`t keep track of all of them, its almost impossible, or you need to have some super mind or super program for that. I can`t count how many altcoins I follow, when I open marketcap to see changes, I take a look on many coins, closely look is reserved for altcoins I have and that is between 5 and 10, not more then that.
icorating.com
Good site, I use it often when I need to check some new ico, I like to check also https://icobench.com/ (https://icobench.com/), one information from this site is 194 upcoming ICOs, 306 ongoing ICOs, 384 ended ICOs, close to 1000 icos in just last couple months and next few months. How to know which ICO`s from all of them will be successful?

My only advice is to limit the number of coins you hold. Otherwise it is impossible to keep up. Bear in mind that the most important coin to keep up with is bitcoin, even if you have only alts. Market movement is determined to a large extent by BTC.

Honestly what's your purpose for tracking?
Maybe do you mean trading ? If so you must choose your favorite coin first. Choose them because you like them. And you don't care if the price going down. Build thats psychology on your mind. Then you must learn how to track the coin from market. Analyze the movement of candle. That's basic point for trading.

I like Blockfolio. There are some apps available on playstore you can download any of them from Google playstore to track all your coins in one place. If you download any of them, you can check all of your coins value at one click from your mobile. I am personally using Blockfolio app to track all my trades and this app is very easy to use it is very user friendly app even you can also try this app to track your all trades.
