Apparently, as Mr. Trump said, fake news. I will wait until confirmation to be honest.

There are a lot of activity going on really on China about bitcoin, but its not bitcoin that they are banning, if the news are true, its the exchanges that they are targeting. I don't know if his tweet has something to do with the price going down. But I do agree that we should hodl our bitcoin and see what will be the official announcement of the government. Huobi, OKCoin and BTCChina though has not release any official statement as well regarding the plan of shutting down local exchanges.

Looks like he backpedaled on the initial tweet. Probably nothing more than we've been hearing all week.

That guy posted that ridiculous tweet was not nescerssary, why the heck would he tweet that knowing he has a ton of followers and is trusted by many? Bet he traded his LTC to BTC !

I think he is right by doing that. No matter what he does, people shit on him.

If he had kept the news, people would blame him that he was not sharing it. When he decides to share it, this happens.

Truth or not, there is plenty of FUD involved around Bitcoin's price lately, any fake news might even have a slight impact to its price, which has been pretty volatile and fluctuating constantly, but still standing above $4000.

I Don't expect much from Bitcoin for the next few weeks or months (Till November at least), with all these happenings, it's best to simply hold your Bitcoin and hope for the best.

This seems to be a realistic approach!. Prices are moving up and down, but despite all bad news of last days, the price is stable within a 300 dollar bandwidth!!

I think you are joking because in your signature it says LTC. So he is the founder and I think you should have know that before investing in Litecoin. Besides that, his brother is the founder of one of BTCC. He said that the China ban is still just a rumor, yet, he posts something like that without knowing if it's true or not.

He also said afterwards that he didn't knew that he could crash the market with his "rumors", as if he did not know how influential he is to the ecosystem of cryptocurrencies.

He shouldn't post something like "China will ban Bitcoin", and then afterwards correct to "China will ban all Bitcoin exchanges" if he is not sure about that. People trust him, and they will believe on his words.

another bad news related to bitcoin i don't understand why is all this happening we all were happy with the price the volume was really high and people were genuinely interested in bitcoin and now a simple tweet or a news leads to fall in price i hope all this stops otherwise there won't any difference in bitcoin when compared to mainstream media

I dont think that it has a very big effect on the price and China should atleast announce if they really banned the exchanges i think it would affect but a bit because china is not the only country who uses bitcoin it is circulating all over the world for sure bitcoin is stable enough without the investors from china.

People will always be alarmed/attracted to bad news or fud, but on marketing grounds of bitcoin bad news is good news for our digital currency and we should expect first time buyers panicking first as they familiarize themselves with how cryptocurrencies work. And to be honest I don't believe one man can cause this shake off....its all market forces at play causing the temporary dip.

As I see, even bitcoin price save it's position today. Every day the same news..

Every time in the past week or so that the price has recovered we have some new piece of bearish news that happens to surface just as things are looking up.

 I do not know why they are banned exchangers. And we know China is a major player in the world Cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is very sensitive to news. Is this just a manipulation or a monopoly?

I think this is a risk, almost all cryptocurrency prices go down and I'm sure everything will be fine right away.

Actually these news must be a propaganda to make the bitcoin price dropped. These must be a planned manipulation to make the late and new big investors to buy a lesser priced Bitcoins.

The entire market is down and it might take some time to recover,the news coming out is not positive for traders and new projects and hope it will recover in due time,i am at a big loss with some of my investments earlier this year and i was adament enough to hold for a longer time and now my profit has reduced to half,i am waiting for the green market so that i could book my profits.

It looks like majority of bitcoin holders are panic seller and do not know Bitcoin's history of correcting itself I bought bitcoin last month at a high price and will still hold it even at a loss, I trust this is not the kind of news that will bring down Bitcoin

Its Just spreading FUD - Fear Doubt Uncertainty. Weak heart and hands sell base on this negative news. I  just ignored it. As long as you have faith in bitcoin you will not be affected by  any negativity out there.

As an influential person in the crypto world he should be more responsible for his social media posts. This move of Charlie Lee shows pretty much his poor character and shows how he is not fit to be a leader. Im dumping all my LTC. LTC should be banned all around the globe.

I think this is just another bait for people to sell their bitcoins so that the whales can restock again on the bitcoins they are holding. They are trying to make people start doing panic selling so that they can benefit from it for buying low then they will sell high.

Charlie started litecoin and was a cofounder of coinbase. Plus on the of greatest advocate of segwit and lightning network. He definitely is supportive of the potential of crypto, not the opposite.

Nodding my head reading your post.  Bearish till the next hardfork. I think it could go as low as $3250. Not terrible considering the gains this year.

The sad thing about bitcoin enthusiast is that we all have different backgrounds that could lead to weak hands, we should not hold grudges for those who sell early for we don't know what they faced from their past. All we need to know is to be thankful at every aspect that is happening to our bitcoin for steel can only be stronger through forging, let's us see at those dips to be blessing in disguise to buy more. Dude has cost a lot of people a lot of money, he is solely responsible for this current drop. He is not fit to be ina leadership position.

The worst thing about this whole fiasco is that because of the timing Jamie Dillon is probably gloating to all his buddies right now about how "I made bitcoin crash today"

So if his "Source" is right, everyone here must just go with it. Charlie won't just create a FUD for nothing, because he is so influential for each of us. Let's test the incoming effects and the factor of China "if ever". Let's brace ourselves and prepare our money's for the dip "in case" and be thankful for this movement and consider it as a chance for us to buy more bitcoins.  ;D

Thats true.Whenever there is a price fall,more new people enter the market and start buying.That gives buy support to btc price.Also many of us are aware of how btc price fluctuates and want to take advantage of it

There are a lot of newcomers in the bitcoin ecosystem they are weak they sell after a bad news or after a fall in the price if a tweet can do a huge impact on the price just imagine what can do regulations made by governments.

I must say that is the power of whale :P I don’t know much about the event that happened and prices drop to $4012 now but what I believe is it will drop to $3500 more. No need to worry, it is just a dip after a long time and will get jump to $4500 within no time. So time to buy, people!

Haha bumping an old thread. Just to let charlie lee know that his dirty tricks did not work and here is bitcoin today at around $6000 and a $100 billion market cap. No individual can stop it from growing and this is why it is called decentralized.

Do not care what they say, they are just trying to make us lose faith in bitcoin, many will feel anxious and panic selling, that's how bitcoin goes down in the past, But then bitcoin is stable and goes up quickly. I have a skeptic, do they buy bitcoin when the price goes down? I think yes, and they make a profit when the price goes up. they are miserable if they do it.

We have recovered from this and China trading volume has drastically reduced. Bitcoin is currently closed to $6000 in price and we expect to remain above  $5000 till end of this year. Moreso russia government have making some comments that could have bring bitcoin down but the price remain steadfast. Charles Lee tweet actually affect bitcoin price as most Chinese holders were selling of they bitcoin and others coins. We hope bitcoin strive in other regions outside Asia.
