Title: Is it actually worth buying btc of 50€?
Post by: FabulousZombie on September 16, 2017, 06:25:31 AM
Hello, I am actually a university student and my budget is kinda limited(a lot) so I was thinking. Is it worth to actually buy btc worth of 50€ right now?
My friend told that it's troublesome  for just that amount of money(to actually buy when I get more and the price falls low again . But I am worried in case I lose this chance now, because who knows when btc will reach 600€ again? Years? Months? Never? Even if the prices goes to x2 I think it's a pretty good deal)
What do you think?

Ofcourse it is.  Just buy 50 now and buy again next month again.
I think most people don 't have thousands of dollars to spare to buy large amounts at once.
I know I don 't.  Familie and mortgage have to be taken care of also.

Sure, why not?

If you buy at the right time you could make a decent profit eventually.

If you have time to daytrade you could probably make some starting profits the coming weeks as I sense the price of BTC will continue to be affected by Chinas regulations

My advice for you is to buy 40 Euro Bitcoin, 7 Euro Litecoin and 3 Euro Dogecoin. Bitcoin is very old and the best you can get from a new price growth is 10x (maybe in 3-5 years), but litecoin and dogecoin are at the beginning. A 100x price growth of either Litecoin or Dogecoin in 1-3 years will be better, isn't it?
So go also into some alt-coins with 10-20% of what you have for bitcoin buying.

IMO, it is worth to buy 50€ worth of BTC now but if you intend to send your BTC to another wallet for storage, you have to take into consideration of the transaction fees. And remember not to store BTC in an exchange if you intend to keep for long term.

Bitcoin price is really dynamic. So if you buy today at some price, that may fall tomorrow, but it can also increase day after tomorrow. You are young at age so you can actually think of long term. I am sure, bitcoin will not disappoint you in longer term. But if you are trying to make quick profit, then it is up to your fate. But if you are thinking long term, go ahead and buy bitcoin.

yes it is worth it but it can prove to be a bit hard to do. because usually people are not selling that small amount of bitcoin and fiat transfers are a pain in the ass.
of course since you apparently already have a friend in bitcoin you can buy bitcoin from him. for example if he has an account on an exchange with funds you can ask him to give you 50€ worth of bitcoin and you pay him in cash.

and even 2x is not going to be a huge profit! what is that 100€ ?

I don't like giving out advice because I don't want to be responsible for people losing their money on my bet, which could always happen.
The only advice I ever give:

Don't invest more than you are willing to lose!

I understand as a student, you don't want to lose anything, but you have to understand that investing comes with a risk. Especially cryptos are very volatile. If you're not comfortable with that, you should put your money in a savings account.

If you do jump into this, regard your €50 as lost and you will not be disappointed, ever!
It's too bad you just missed the dip to €2600 yesterday, which to me was a good deal. It's up to you now to figure out when you wish to jump in.

In short: yes, it can be worth it in the long term. €50 is actually a perfectly fine amount to get your feet wet and test your nerves :)

Hope this helps a bit. Good luck!

No matter how much you have even if you can spend a spare 10$ a week, it's always a good idea to get bitcoin plus the price is going down so you'll make a good profit in no time that's how most people started most of us don't have thousands to invest we're just random people with hopes to get rich.

I started with $30 every week and been buying ever since. Recently just stopped because of the high price and my funds are focused into other ventures. The thing is it's never too late to get into something even if it's crowded. There's still a chance to get some profits in the long run if you're a patient person. I myself believed that it was a waste buying into $200 thinking that it's a dead coin anyway, but apparently the smarter side of me just bought while I can and I have the best decision of my life.

Just like you I also began my btc investment with such a low investment and it has tripled itself till now. Dont hesitate in investing any amount. Once you buy bitcoin you will see a whole new crypto world ahead of you with endless opportunities.

The biggest problem with Bitcoin is that people don't understand that it can be divided by 100 million. Many think that if you want to purchase BTC, you have to go for one full coin (which is trading at $3,650 right now). That is not true. You can even purchase BTC0.100 or even BTC0.001.

I think he knows that but he's actually asking if it's worth buying and keeping 50€ worth of BTC. Like someone had mentioned, the most BTC could rise would be highly likely x10 only in the next decade. The worth is up to your belief in my opinion, try to read up and find out more on BTC before deciding for yourself.

My strategy is buying a little bit every month! Invest what you can afford to lose and relax, because bitcoin will grow much more in the near future - dont stress with the dips and crashes, it'll bounce back stronger

Your friend's probably right in the sense that the trouble needed to get verified on an exchange could be bothersome, depending on where you come from. Also, to scout for a good price for 50 EUR might be tough. Why? Because most types of exchanges take a flat fee plus percentage. It doesn't seem like a lot when buying hundreds or thousands of dollars worth, but if you have to pay a $5 fee to deposit your cash for the trade, you lose 10% immediately.

My suggestion: localbitcoins. Most sellers allow online payments, go for an escrow. You'll get your full 50 euros worth (at the trading price) and it costs very little to withdraw coins out of LBC to your own wallet.

BTW, I complete my first year of being in Bitcoin today. Exactly one year ago, it was around $600. Had I had bought $50 worth then, I'd have about $300 now.

There is surely nothing wrong with it. But do not expect to make any large sum of money from it. Being rich and achieving financial independence takes a lot of patience, hard work and a little luck. You have the correct proposition by thinking that you need to invest in something. Do not give up.

Now find a real job to have a source of income for your future investments.

You are right, We can go to purchased a part of 1 bitcoin, because not all peoples are rich to buy one or more bitcoins. For exemple, in my case i bought in these days 0.1 bitcoin, and i am happy with this purshased because i believe to much in bitcoin and I know that bitcoin price will increase too soon.

Think of it this way, what else were you going to do with that money? Video games, booze? I would suggest looking into dollar cost averaging if you are on a tight budget, that way you can take advantage of any price swings.

Yes it is worth it to buy bitcoin worth of 50 Euros because that is a good start for investing in bitcoin and if you have extra money everyday then just use those money to buy bitcoin and treat bitcoin as a long term investment and also an option for your future retirement fund so instead of wasting money in useless things then just put it on bitcoin.

The only thing that is limiting the minimum amount of bitcoin to buy is in my eyes the fee you have to pay.
I don't think that the fees should be higher than 1% of the traded amount.
Sometimes you have to pay a minimum fee or a fixed fee. I would always compare that fee to the amount I want to invest.
If the fee is higher than the 1%, I would either search another way to buy or wait until I have more money for a larger investment.

Every amount is good to invest, you will get a profit in the future anyway. Now it's a perfect time buy more bitcoin. Normally, I would suggest coinify or blockchain.info to buy with a credit card but you would have to pay fees for using credit card. Try to buy BTC from someone you know. I'm only familiar with exchanges Bitcoin -> fiat in my country.

Every amount is good? Like the €50 that OP is planning to "invest"? No, I believe not. "Investing" a very small amount and thinking that it will become anything significant is really only a "pie in the sky" so to speak. You would be very lucky to turn that into €5000.

Why not, it's wort buying the sum you can invest, no matter how big or small. Maybe with time you could invest more. The best option is maybe to buy at localbitcoins, I think you can find a seller with lower fees than some exchangers. Look at this bitcoin buying as investment to your future, better than you spend that money on booz or girls.  ;D

Now it's really worth buying bitcoin, while its price has dropped very much. Even if its rate will fall still, vseravno in the long run you will find yourself with a big profit. However, it is possible that some of the funds are better to invest in promising coins, such as ripples, monero, litecoin, ethereum.

The past few days/week has obviously seen considerable fluctuation in the price of BTC.  In my opinion, its a great time to actually buy in if it is something you are considering.   My only word of advice usually is that, if you are planning to invest, invest with a disposable sum because you might not see huge returns instantly but over time, the chances of you making a profit on your holding is quite high.  It is worth noting though that anything 'speculation' is just that 'speculation', nothing can be 100% certain.    Whatever you decide, make sure you do a little research yourself and be in it for the long term.

Do not pessimistic friend. Regardless of your number that tabit Bitcoin, will be a lot later if you continue to buy Bitcoin. A little bit over time the money you have will become Bitcoin. because the concept of saving is stable even a little.

If you buy at regular intervals you cannot go wrong, because you would be buying during upturns and downturns, thus averaging your cost per bitcoin over time. So if you were to buy now and bitcoin were to drop, your dollar cost would drop when buying the next time.

You dont understand how bitcoin investment works. You expect its price to double in just a few days and make an easy 50$. No, bitcoin price is not going to double in just a few days, or even a few weeks. If you invest in bitcoin dont expect for fast profit. You have to wait at least 3-4 months maybe even more to see a good profit. Especially for only a 50$ investment.

You can also buy some every month if you can miss it , 20 dollar a month will add up.
And you will keep your cost average down.

Yes buy even if it's only a little bit. It's arill worth it since it's a better payment method. Just conversion of your normal fiat into bitcoin. Use the bitcoin to spend instead of fiat money. Forget about Fiat entirely. Just use BTC to spend on whatever you normally buy. Anything else you can spend Fiat as. Plus it acts as a good investment as well. It's an I
Investment you can spend. Enjoy it. :)

Instead of buying you can also consider earning bitcoin on this forum. 50€ value in btc is not too difficult to make within a few weeks.
There are many effective ways to earn bitcoins. For example selling services, signature campaign, social media bounties and so on.
That way, you will not risk anything but a bit of your free time.

Although it is always worth to buy bitcoin for any amount of money. But i think that such amount of money is good for day trading, while for long term investment it is not such a good amount of money, because i do not think that even waiting for a long time we can get such a good profit by investing only 50$. For long term investment we need to have a good amount of money, we that after long time it can give us a good reward. Therefore i will recommend 50$ for shrot term investment or trading only.

Sure, why not? It's not a big investment, but if you do it for the long run, then it might turn out well. Everyone talks about the halve in 2020, so those 50 euro might end up becoming quite valuable if things go well. You could of course go to an alt. I still think ether also has some good potencial, if ICOs keep popping, so you might get even higher profits there. But right now, since there will be two bitcoins forks, go for BTC since you will get some dividends of those 50 euros right away.

I think its not very big capital to invest in bitcoins as the price of bitcoins is too high now and with that amount you will get very small portion of bitcoins and to make profits from it by holding will be really time consuming process so the best thing would be to invest that capital in altcoins that has cheap price and wait for the price to go higher.

It is definitely worth it, you migjht buy €50, someone else might buy €500, if the price goes up you both will get the same increase relative to your investment.

Your €50 could turn into €75 for example, you could then take the €25 profit and maybe buy some promising altcoins and make some more that way, we all started somewhere, I was buying the odd 20 here and there at the atm starting off.

Of course you could also make a loss but if you don't take the chance you will never know.

That's true and even when you do make a loss because you possess a little stake of it you're also going to loose just a little but if you can be patient enough you'd realize that in recent times Bitcoin always bounced back to its highest price and even more any time it takes a tumble and so you need not to even worry about losses at some point.

To me personally € 50 seems a very small amount to expect significant gains in any type of investment, however in the case of bitcoin, at the current price still seems convenient to acquire bitcoins due to the immense growth potential it still has. If the price of $ 100,000 that many predict is met, starting from current price your gains would be around 1600%.

I have the same opinion too.Even though investing on bitcoin is always worth up but talking already on $50 investment specially for long term then it would possibly give you some profits but not really worth for the patience you did put on since you wont really expect too much on it.Lets say its most likely to see up on bitcoin to double its price on a short period of time which same as you suggested this kind of amount is just really be good for day trading which would somehow give you the chance to make it roll and make some profits with this amounts you did invest on.

It is most definitely worth buying any amount of bitcoins you can. One day it will be worth tens of thousands of dollars that little amount. That'll be 30+ years from now but still.

50 euro in some country are literally a lot of the money and I guess is around the 50% of the mean value people get payed in real world for real jibs.
maybe we can think as west citizen, so 50 euro is just the money a wealth people spend for a tv-service, or a taxi ride!
But with 50 euro you can buy a lot of essential things, like food medicine pay bills so... one day also a small amount of btc will be enough to say: I spend those 50 euro in a properly manner :D

yes it is. basically the more you put in the more you make so that's why i suggest that you invest in bitcoin monthly, it's not that hard to put some money on the side if you know you will make more

it is better to buy 50€ bitcoin and hold them because trading is so bad (high fee).

just keep holding if you buy 50€ at 2011 will be rich now

Hello, I am actually a university student and my budget is kinda limited(a lot) so I was thinking. Is it worth to actually buy btc worth of 50€ right now?
My friend told that it's troublesome  for just that amount of money(to actually buy when I get more and the price falls low again . But I am worried in case I lose this chance now, because who knows when btc will reach 600€ again? Years? Months? Never? Even if the prices goes to x2 I think it's a pretty good deal)
What do you think?

Don't want actually to bump this thread but as many are asking that it's not worthing, I say that worth every cent invested in bitcoin.

Saying the truth that is a very small amount of money to count it as an "investment", if you make it a regular buying routine then yes it worth because you will be familiar to invest more and more in bitcoin through the time.

A simple rule for this is that don't expect those 50€ to become 500€ because it's really hard for bitcoin to have a higher price change within a short period of time.

Actually if your investing in crypto go really well it can be 2x but still you need to take the risk because we don't know what will happen in the crypto in the future so for me it's not recommended ,i think study first how to earn here in crypto because my earnings here are base on faucets and campaigns then i deposit it to trading site so even i lose my money that are base on my earnings here.
