Title: BFL wants me to pay shipping twice
Post by: VeeMiner on May 29, 2013, 06:15:12 PM
Hello everyone,

I turn with my question to the community because I have nowhere else to go. Some time ago BFL announced that they will be shipping in two weeks™. After this I was pretty excited and went to their website to log into the user administration to check on my order. I have ordered the Single (60 Ghash/s) and my order number is 26XX so I'm pretty early there.

So yeah, they offered to upgrade the shipping to express for $312.00, which I excitedly paid for using BitPay. Here's a transaction ID:

5c091a685d436e6cd1358a6d534c35f708f2a7e45fa7a34c8f276470d7b1c2bf

I even have a screenshot of the payment cause I like to make sure of things. So now I login into the website again and it seems like BFL has not registered my payment (which was confirmed to me before and I saw it as paid in the customer section of the website). I sent an email to the customer support and they didn't even bother to reply.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

EDIT: the issue is now resolved and the order has the express shipping marked as paid...

When you went to the PitPay to pay the free, did you just close the tab when you were done, or did you click on the "Back to ButterflyLabs" button? I found if you don't click that little button, it doesn't show up on their website, and then you gotta email them, and then it takes them forever to get back to you. :/

I went back to butterflylabs and the payment was written there and everything was fine. Now 2 weeks later it is gone and it wants me to pay it again...

Solution: Never give BFL any money.

that's also an option, what I would be more interested in is finding out whether I'm the only one that this has happened to...

Same thing here on May 1st in my case. My order is for a Little Single, #29xx, July 7, upgraded from a Jally long ago. I filled out a ticket when the shipping upgrade was not recorded but no answer so far. At the time there was a thread here with several people reporting similar issues. If I find the thread again, I'll post a link. I seem to remember that one of the posters got his issue resolved with BFL and posted the good news in the thread. The trolls swamped discussion at the time, as I recall.

Why are people still giving money to butt fuck labs? By the time you get the device it won't be able to mine enough coins to pay for the shipping! lol

Greed, blind faith. Call it what you will.

Looks like you did the right think. How long has it been since you sent them a message? Hopefully this post will catch the attention of one of the mods. Might also help to post on their forums too.

This is not the thread for your OT trolling. The fact is they have severely fucked up, but they ARE delivering units, and the OP wants to get his as fast as possible.

Absolutely no surprise to me.

Fuck BFL, I ordered a Jalapeno

SCAMMERS

Did you see, they changed the name and price, jal to something, and from $174 to $276 or something, then they removed everybodys shipping from first class to a lower tier and asking an additional amount of money "175USD" for shipping. Then they ship out, "Experiment units" to people, with youtube vids, try to pull more customers in.

Edit:

I'm not all that smart, but this is common sense to me, what BFL is/are doing.

... might as well put some of that refund money to good use ...

That is absolutely disgusting. We all know what BFL are doing, just need hard core evidence. But in reality, we know what they are doing, they know it and they know they can get away with it atm. Just matter of time before the cookie crumbles in the glass of milk.

Thanks. My ticket was timestamped "Created: 07 May 2013 08:04 AM". I keep an eye on the BFL forums, but haven't been active there.

It looks like the trolls will be swamping this thread with noise - the fate of all BFL threads, it seems. I "get it" - lots of agendas in play, but it's a nuisance.

It's never dull in BTC-world.              :)

Not defending BFL, but just FYI, a lot of users on their forums have complained of this.  Apparently most if not every person who paid for express shipping, either originally or at a later date, was bumped back down to standard shipping.  It's a known issues, it's just unknown when/how it will be resolved.  Also I really liked the trademark symbol over the "two weeks" comment, it gave me a real lol moment  :P.

Accuse them of mail fraud using this address: 10770 El Monte, Leawood, KS 66211 United States of America

Here is the form you need to fill out: http://ehome.uspis.gov/fcsexternal/default.aspx (http://ehome.uspis.gov/fcsexternal/default.aspx)

thanks a lot! I don't go to their forum because it's full of BFL bootlickers. So I'm hoping that they will resolve this issue asap. Anyway it almost seems to me that they want more money from people that are so stupid as to pay the shipping twice (I'm sure that there will be some that will do it)

$312?  Are they renting a car and driving it to your house, plugging it in and setting it up for you as well?

Well if he didn't receive it then nothing is resolved except a promise for a type of shipping. For what they're charging for shipping I could ship a bowling ball to Antarctica and it would get there sooner.

Likely true.
However I've tried to search exactly how much does it cost and take, and I've only found a site by a company named NEX which requires you to compile a form just to tell you how much it costs O_o
And the form doesn't work, of course.

Despite that, I've found images of this cool post office (http://theplanetd.com/a-post-office-in-antarctica-you-betcha/), which is surrounded by penguins.

Still a better deal than BFL.

I have not received the product, I just have the shipping marked as paid in the customer area

Seriously, how can they charge $300.00 for shipping of something that ships UPS for 20 bucks? Does a naked stripper deliver it? If they were an ebay seller, they would be banned :)

Frankly, if you put up with it -- you deserve it.
