If you want to compile the QT on linux with qmake, you have to delete the original qt (or rename it) and delete the litecoin-qt.pro file.

What is the advantage of this coin?

Essentially Litecoin with 2.5x faster block generation and much quicker difficulty re-targeting.

1 minute should be enough for blocks to propagate through the network and it should on average take 30 seconds for a transaction to be included in the block chain.

Generation rate halves every 844,000 blocks (about 1.5 years).

Total coins will be around 84 million - same as Litecoin.

lol, someone cleaned out the bounty overnight. They actually exposed a bug in my code that allowed the house balance to go into the negative and them to continue betting regardless. This has since been fixed.

Someone has recently donated 1000 to the house (thanks to whoever donated  :D) and I've also mined 12 blocks this morning so there should be a further 3000 added to the house fund once the blocks mature.

lol, someone cleaned out the bounty overnight. They actually exposed a bug in my code that allowed the house balance to go into the negative and them to continue betting regardless. This has since been fixed.

Someone has recently donated 1000 to the house (thanks to whoever donated  :D) and I've also mined 12 blocks this morning so there should be a further 3000 added to the house fund once the blocks mature.

lol, i guess someone got lucky. another 3000 sent to house  :)

Hey!

Block explorer is up:
http://ezc.p2pool.nl

Also added a P2Pool but since I'm at work I haven't tested it yet; feel free to test it:
http://ezc.p2pool.nl:9000
Stats are at:
http://ezc.p2pool.nl/stats/

Let me know if you encounter anything.. I might be slow to react the coming 6 hours, just so u know ;-)

@Pool Operators, feel free to link to the block explorer!

Cheers!
EDIT: Pool doesn't work yet due to nSubsidy function (i have to look into that). I'll look into that later tonight. In the meanwhile enjoy the blockexplorer..
EDIT 2: it's up!

No pre-mine. If you call that an insta-mine, then it is still going on. We are still at the bonus blocks stage after 3 days. The slowest insta-mine in the history of alt coins.  :P

Full disclosure: After release, I CPU mined with one PC to keep the network going. I got around 100 of the frst 500 blocks. After about 12 hours I started GPU mining on a single GPU.

If i had a few thousand i'd be a very active supporter to get some development and adoption, even exchanges would get spammed by requests.

To install the qt-client: Download the zip file and extract into a folder on your desktop. Then run the ezcoin-qt.exe file.

Here is a guide to solo-mining Litecoin, it will be similar for Ezcoin:

Yes, and you can add -Q 0

You can also set it from the UI under the Settings menu.

Play with those values until you get something that works best for your latency/hash rate/network hash rate/etc.

Hey!

Sorry for not replying.. Had to visit Ikea, and as you all probably know, saturday is not a good day for Ikea ;-)

Anyways, you canalso try to adjust the diff setting if you encounter a lot of rejects. Just add +xxxxx behind your ezcoin address as username, below some examples depending on your hash speed. I'll put this info on the stats page as well, as I see a lot of ppl asking this :-)

Code:
Hash Rate (KH/s)             Difficulty
             1                  +0.00000116
             5                  +0.00000582

Cheers,

Now heres the interesting question

I have 2 Nvidia cards, each different speeds.... one would say get 130khash while the other get 70.
Now would I add the 2 together and then add the dif number to that? or take the single hash rate one and go with that?

LOL this is why I need p2p pools... normal pools dont allow the difficulty adjustments.

There wont be news unless we spam the owners of the sites like hell until they add it. Get to inboxing them now, and sending emails, let everything they see be EZcoin until it's just EZee on them to make the Ezee decision.

I know I suck at graphics design, so I'm adding another bounty for a logo and an icon.

The bounty is 5000 EZC and a small amount of Bitcoin (0.1 BTC).

The logo is also used on the splash screen and needs to be 180-400 pixels wide. The icon should be 48x48 but still legible at 16x16.

That's fine. More bounties available for other EZCoin related services. We'll just have to keep growing the user base until it's big enough.

I have to agree unfortunately. Not really bringing much innovation here and much better candidates available for an Exchange to consider.

I guess the whole Google Doc Exchange concept is so 2weeks ago. Just not enough interest in this coin to even make that possible.
[WTS] 32750 EZC if anyone wants them. Will take a reasonable offer of BTC, LTC, or WDC.

there is going to be some that dump, let them, i'll be buying, after a while, it will be us who truly intend to trade this and use it in the long run. I'm working on a project that i want to back with Ezcoin and Noirbits, this may leverage them against the alts and eventually divorce them completely from the dependency on LTC and BTC. Not simple, not fast but sure fire effective.

Even if EZCoin ever hits Cryptsy, volume of sellers will be huge, volume of buyers is low. Look at the other LTC clones... If you sell 50,000 of any coin, price drops 400%... And there are people holding over 2-3x that amount of EZCoins...

My opinion: you are wasting your hashes on it if you think you will make profit.

I like the coin though.

You can connect to the rpc interface (json) and do a call to "getnetworkhashps". Same as with the litecoin client.

The worse thing you can do is dump it - you'll get almost nothing...

Better 'trickle-trade' ANY coin so it creates volume along time and price will surely increase ;)

That's the ONLY way you can get some back from what you spent to mine it  ;D

Trickle-trade is trading your assets in small but frequent groups/chunks.

Like that you maintain price and stability versus dumping all you have at
the first best price you see, which devalues the market due to saturation  ;)

I'm no expert, but this works both for fiat and BTCTC  8)

I don't know why, but with pnwminer, I mine at an hashrate of around 14 kh/s ( in my client windows  when I was around 250kh/s with the p2p pool and with other script coins )

I can't connect myself with the command of the "getting start" section ( cgminer --scrypt -o --url http://pnwminer.com:3337 --userpass Oscyf.1:x ) So I use the one I usually used for others pools ans coins : cgminer.exe --scrypt -o http://ezc.pnwminer.com:3337 -u Oscyf.1 -p x -I 8

With this last command, I'm connected but with a really poor hashrate :/

BTW: Sorry for my poor English !

Network Hashrate: 20.99 MH/s

Pool Hashrate: 9.927 MH/s

guys, it's almost 51%... be smart and do not connect to this pool. We're wasting idea of  DISTRIBUTED mining

Not almost 51%... 105%!   Anyone have any idea how my pool would be reporting numbers like this?  3 guys just jumped on and they are doing more than the supposed max hashrate! Any input would be appreciated. Either PM me here or send me an email from the site!  Thank You!

Oh ! I solved my problem.

It was simple, I just had to improve the intensity ( -I 13 instead of -I 8 ).
I don't know/understand why 8 is enough with other pools.

105% of hashrate is impossible. since hashrate of each coin can be 100% max. lol. 51% attack means that someone get his dirty hands over 51+% of total network hashrate and start to make blocks with fake transactions.
if you're a honest guy and won't try to make an attack against this coin while your pool making >40% of total hashrate - we're fine.
but it's better to make an announcement to encourage people move to other pools

if you wish - I can set up EZcoin pool on my server.

hey, why don't u make a tutorial, so we can make a pool too,i would like a pool like this -> http://ezc.pnwminer.com/accountdetails
kinda pool, not the ones that has to use wallet addresses as user when mining.(p2pool i think, or some versions of p2pool , not sure)
even that they both do the same, i just prefer this method more then other ;D

but u could tell us how to do it, both coins, any of those two methods would work as hell.
i wanna know how to do that. ;D
if u can or know a good place to start that's good to, i learn easy ;d ; Well.i don't know that much of linux, so if possible to do in win would be better TO ME at least, not sure for other.
can use a 'localhost' to do a p2pool? at least while my net can handle it ;d

It is POSSIBLE to run a stratum/mmcfe pool in Windows, but it is actually much more difficult (and buggy) to do than in Linux. Stick with p2pool if you want to run a Windows pool. I have been slowly writing up a tutorial on linux/Stratum/Coin/MMCFE, but it is nowhere near ready yet and the whole procedure is definitely not a trivial undertaking. Soon though, sooon. :)

Oh and what happened to my pool was a few users with INCREDIBLE amounts of hashing power jumped on. I had several coinpools running on the same server and it was not quite ready for that kind of hit. I have gone down to just 2 coins now and things are working MUCH better.

1-10 are for SHA256 coins (bitcoin, terracoin, ppcoin)
11-20 are for Scrypt coins (Litecoin, Feathercoin, most of the clone coins including EZcoin as well)

someone correct me if im confused but if i use 1-9 even with scrypt tag it still throws me mh/s rate

ATTENTION TO ALL PEOPLE MINING EZC.PNWMINER.COM POOLS
****************************************************************
June 23, 2013 - 11:29AM PST
I will be moving around for a few weeks and as such, will not be able to monitor and maintain the pools. That being said, I going to stop mining on them at 5PM PST, June 23 (so about 5 1/2 hours from now). Please stop mining ASAP. The sites will not be shutting down, but the stratum backend will be shutdown. The sites themselves will stay up until I am settled back in after July 8. At that point I will be reactivating the pools with new front-ends. I have been monitoring both pools and I will hang onto all of the share info for the users, so that everyone gets paid correctly as the blocks all mature.

On that note, please sign in to the site and make sure you have an automatic threshold set and an email address registered in case I need to communicate further. If possible, try to withdraw any coins you have banked here.

Thanks for mining with us and I will see everyone in a few weeks with a new frontend for my sites.

Why are people using pools when the difficulty is so low? You are better off solo mining.

I can understand when the difficulty is a few million - but it is a long way from there.

I'm regularly updating checkpoints to keep the block chain secure from attack. Also working on some cosmetic changes to the UI. Might be some bigger changes in the future.

Title: Re: [ANN][EZC] EZCoin | v 0.6.4 released | REQUIRED UPDATE | Improved retargeting
Post by: ezcoin on July 03, 2013, 01:22:04 PM
A new version (0.6.4) of EZCoin has been released. This is a required update. Please update to this version as soon as possible.

This version changes the difficulty retargeting interval from 240 blocks to 12 blocks starting at block 44160. This should happen within the next 7 to 21 days.

It also changes maximum upwards difficulty adjustments to 200% and maximum downwards difficulty adjustment to 400%.

This is to help in situations where a huge amount of hashing power suddenly leaves the mining (a.k.a the "CoinChoose effect").

The Windows wallet also uses the new logo and has added checkpoints for improved security of the block-chain.

good call man - the "crypto switching" pools and the "CoinChoose effect" are definitely damaging some of the alt coins. It can make it a real ass waiting for transactions to be processed.

******   ANNOUNCEMENT  ******

http://ezc.pnwminer.com is back up.

After testing out several other front ends, I decided to stay with my original setup with a few changes/fixes in place.

1. PPLNS is now Dynamic
2. Manual Payouts are once again available but they do batch up and run every 10 minutes or so.
3. Stratum difficulty is now set to 32 and hashrate reporting should be fairly accurate.

Good to be back home and having fun again :)

The new difficulty adjustment parameters will be effective within the next 24-48 hours (about 2000 blocks from now).

EZCoin has reached block 44160 where a hard fork occurs.

Please update your clients and daemons now if you haven't yet.

The changes are:

* Difficulty retargets every 12 blocks instead of every 240 blocks.
* Difficulty retargets up max 200%, down max 400%.

This allows for much better retargeting when large pools of miners of leave of join mining.

So far everything looks as expected, except for the few nodes that got banned by my node for not using the latest version.

Thanks!  :)

Is there a working block explorer?

No, the one at ezc.p2pool.nl seems to be down.

Offering a 500 EZC reward for a block explorer. Anyone?

I will look into it.

Can't be too difficult.

You didn't hear anything because I am not usually up at 1am, but I did send you an email at 8am and I got your missing coins to you as well. There was an error in the DB concerning an entry of zero shares on a specific block and payouts stopped. After I fixed it, everyone got all of their payouts. :)

The correct connection info for that pool is stratum+tcp://pnwminer.com:3337

How many existing coins are out there now on this one? Looks stable at around 13,000,000? Trading at about $0.01.
I see conservative block rewards which is great. Many years to mine the rest of the coins to 80m.
Good work guys on a nice and stable coin.

Looking forward to you guys getting up on Coinmarketcap soon. Keep that block explorer running smooth. Waiting for Gliss. Be ready...

Does anyone know what's causing EZcoin to see this rapid price increase on Cryptsy???  It has been on the rise for the past 3 days and does not seem to stop.  The price has increased 12 times and looks like it is going to continue rising.

Also, from the price history of EZcoin I can see that there was a similar price increase in August and then  the price collapsed again.  Does anyone know what was causing it then and what is causing this sudden increase now?

EZcoin has just been listed on Coinmarketcap about just ONE hour ago.

The rises were pre-listing because the coin is vastly undervalued. Even now it's market cap as you can see is only 200k.
Congratulations on getting Block Exlporer sorted out and getting listing. The Devs have done well.

Will be watching over the next day or so as it continues. 11.7 million coins is a nice lower number compared to some
of these new ones coming out these days. And it's been out for a bit which is great.

Title: Feature Request
Post by: KleinMatthias on December 27, 2013, 09:37:05 PM
Hi,

Since not all users of this coin are as active as you are, may I ask for a feature in a future wallet version?

Please implement one of the following features:
1) an autoupdate feature which automatically keeps the QT updated without the user doing anything (or with the user just clicking an "update" button which only appears when new updates are available - but where the entire update process is done automatically)
2) a notification feature where the user can enter his eMail address into the wallet and the wallet sends him an eMail when a new version is available? That requires - of course - that the wallet has a way to check for updates. But since Microsoft/Apple/Adobe/andalltheothers can do it, so can you :-)
3) (for those who don't even run their QT all the time) a notification feature where the user can enter his eMail address into the wallet and the wallet sends that eMail address plus its own version information to a central server of yours which then sends out an eMail when a new software version is available. And which sends a warning eMail when a mantatory update has to be performed.

Naturally, as of today, the Cryptocurrency-community has been very active but with the price explosion of the Bitcoin last month, more and more "normal users" will enter the market.
They will not keep their wallet running all the time.
They will not check the forum all the time.
But they might spend hard cash on buying this coin at an exchange and then send it over to their wallet. As a community, we even need that kind of passive user - and we need their money buying this coin.
And when they find ways to spend or donate the coin, they will. And for that purpose they will open their wallets - but not in between.

Having said this, I personally prefer feature (3) because it has a few advantage over the other 2:

  • It keeps even those "passive" users in the loop that do not run their wallet regularily.
  • That way, if a really important change has to be made (e.g. a new blockchain), even those users won't lose their money because they get a notification. Think of the bad publicity when "normal users" start losing their money because they simply ignored their wallets for months only to find them not working anymore because weeks before, a new blockchain or equally invasive measure was introduced without them knowing.
  • That feature can be extended for marketing purposes: add a checkmark "the makers of this coin are allowed to send me exciting news about this coin yaddayaddaya" - and voila you get yourself a free marketing database with tons of eMail addresses that you can use to keep engaging your users. Notify them of new shops where they can pay with this currency. Notify them of faucets. Notify them of exchanges that trade this coin. Notify them of the rise in value of that coin. And so on. Just keep engaging even the passive users - because to make a currency successful, you need every hand and every dollar you can get.

You guys and all the other professionals or those that have privacy concerns won't use that feature - and should never be required to do so. But the regular passive user will get that fuzzy feeling that he will be informed of important stuff without him spending much time checking bitcointalk or their wallets. And that will give him extra confidence when it comes to him spending the coin or buying the coin with his FIAT.

Just a few additional remarks:

  • Naturally, the best possible combination would be (3) with (1) where the users gets a "move your ass and update your wallet or else..." eMail (friendly version, of course) - and then he opens the wallet and clicks on the "update" button and that's it for him.
  • May be the required serverside portion (the thing that collects all version information and the eMail addresses and which also allows for sending out mass eMails to all users in that database) could be written in a generic way so that other virtual currencies can implement that feature, too?
  • May be, future wallets should have a default setting that causes them to run in the background as a service whenever the computer starts. That way, even many passive users will contribute to the P2P network without them even knowing. But that was just a sideline remark and describes a completely different feature request. But then again, while you are at it... :-)

Don't know. What do you guys think about that feature request?
Does anyone second that request?
Does anyone have a better idea how to solve the above mentioned challenges that this new species of regular, passive users will introduce in the weeks and months to come?

Thanks
Matt
EZC: EaSk9t5yd3uMaoEremYyJJpAZ4oEvNrAAF

P.S. Just a full disclosure: I have posted this same feature request to the thread of some other cryptocurrencies as well.

I think EZCoin has a ton of potential for growth.  There is a lot of money coming in to altcoins right now and there's more on the way-- these new investors are looking for smart investments!

Can we spice up the website and think about adding Mac, Linux and Android wallets?  Let's give EZCoin a facelift and watch it take off.

I am, and will continue to push EZCoin on social media.

I will contribute to a bounty for the new clients. Please PM me to coordinate.

Let's remember that the new money coming in to Bitcoin/Altcoins has a different perspective on what "value" is.  They're not going to (or even know how to) start mining any coins!  These people are looking to invest actual USD or BTC in these altcoins.  We need to present a quality product worth their investment.

I agree.

And when new investors look for an altcoin, EZCoin will be one of the top choices because it's highly undervalued.

If we push it in social media and forums, it'll have its deserved place in top 10.

error: {"code":-2,"message":"Safe mode: WARNING: Displayed transactions may not be correct!  You may need to upgrade, or other nodes may need to upgrade."}

Any Ideas?

ezcoind getinfo comes back with this:

{
    "version" : 60404,
    "protocolversion" : 60002,
    "walletversion" : 60000,
    "balance" : 1.00000000,

    "unlocked_until" : 0,
    "errors" : "WARNING: Displayed transactions may not be correct!  You may need to upgrade, or other nodes may need to upgrade."
}

I think this is the newest version and I am connected to two other clients also on 6.4.4

One of the nodes is still on 6.4.2.

Pool uses self-made software and its Beta testing phase now.
But everything should work fine.  :)

  • Stratum protocol

  • One registration and statistics for all pools
  • Automatic payouts every 5 minutes
  • No payout fees!

Will be happy if you'll point some miners here.  :)

Hi there,

do you remember anything off your password, like "I only used letters and numbers" or "the password as a length between x and y"? If so, maybe I can help. I saw some scripts which might be used to recover the password at these links:

  • https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=85495.20 and
  • https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=170694.0

Either you are able to give it a try yourself or we can make a deal on this if you like to, I'm always open to hunt for reasonable bounties.  ;D

Best regards and good luck if you give it a try!

I've tried everything, the problem is I do not remember exactly what I put, and i use many different passwords. So bruteforce would impossible.
thanks anyway.

Don't resignate! If you consider it lost anyway, why don't you just let me try a bit? ;)

Also, I'm quite sure you know at least the approximate password length or if you used upper/lower case letters, numbers and which special chars.

Edit: A guy who had the same problem in one of the threads I gave you, said he cracked his 52-character password in about an hour using one of the script given there.....so PLEASE don't dump the wallet, keep trying or let me try for a reasonable bounty. :)

Best regards,

MathiasW

Looking great :)

Ezcoin on chinese exchange => easecoin.com (http://easecoin.com)

And it's rocketing :)  Now all we need is a btc market on cryptsy.

Thanks :)

So the new exchange is the reason for rocketing? I was thinking about if the new logo made it.  ;D

A pity I can't deal with chinese language, I'm quite curious how the coin is doing over there.

New logo will be useful too, as soon as it's used everywhere.

And also i think an android wallet will have a direct effect on value.

I don't know chinese either. But long live google translate:)

I don't know what EZcoin Lite is, but this is the EZcoin that is listed on Cryptsy under the EZC/LTC market.

EVERYONE!  We are having a severe winter/ice storm here and the power is dropping in all of the surrounding communities. If the pools at pnwminer.com drop, I will get them back up as soon as my power comes back up. For now, all is working fine, but I thought that I would warn everyone!

In Spain the storm will arrive tomorrow with more than 120km/h wind speed and waves up to 15 meters. But it's only in the north west cities.
I hope there is no problem with the electricity.  8)  8)  8)

Anyone know the correct configs for p2pool for setting up an ezcoin node?

Example for LTC

litecoin=math.Object(
        PARENT=networks.nets['litecoin'],
        SHARE_PERIOD=15, # seconds
        CHAIN_LENGTH=24*60*60//10, # shares
        REAL_CHAIN_LENGTH=24*60*60//10, # shares
        TARGET_LOOKBEHIND=200, # shares
        SPREAD=3, # blocks
        IDENTIFIER='e037d5b8c6923410'.decode('hex'),
        PREFIX='7208c1a53ef629b0'.decode('hex'),
        P2P_PORT=9338,
        MIN_TARGET=0,
        MAX_TARGET=2**256//2**20 - 1,

Just a heads up since mining pools seem to be scarce.
We've been running our EZCoin pool for quite some time and it has always done well.  EZCoin need more mining! Come join us!

ezc.cryptcoins.net (http://ezc.cryptcoins.net)

  • Proprotional payout per block.
  • 2% reward off the top for miner that solves the block.
  • Vardiff Stratum.

Our other pools are listed in this thread,

Is anyone else having a problem syncing their wallet?
Mine seems to be stuck at block 434226... everything updated fine until this point then it hit a wall.
I have added all the nodes as suggested towards the beginning of this thread.

Any suggestions?

Great coin. The dev seems to stop by sporadically to update. Worth a small investment.

Our team obtained many of the cryptocurrencies that were frozen on Cryptsy's servers when the exchange collapsed. The EZCoin wallet.dat was among those recovered.

We are now in the process of giving these wallet files back to their respective communities. The wallet has not been inspected and it's unknown if it contains any coins. If you are a developer of this coin, or a longstanding community member, you can file a request for the wallet in this thread: https://www.gldtalk.org/index.php?topic=3789.0
