You failed to address in the OP that "German Silver" is a Copper/Nickel alloy. It is worth much less than Silver, and yet you are quoting Silver spot prices. Either you are mistaken, and these are not German Silver, or this offer is extremely disingenuous to say the least. These are not "99.9%" pure Silver, they are 0% Silver.

This must be a misunderstanding. The imprint on the shown bars "Feinsilber 999" identifies them as 99.9% pure silver, not in any case an alloy.

I should note that I am not affiliated with the OP, so he should clarify things as well.

P.S: I like the idea of exchangig 'mined' BTC for precious metals. Also to show off the productiveness of your hardware to the less technically inclined  :D

Silver is about $22.30/oz.

100g = ~ 3.53oz

So the bullion value of your bar is worth about $78.72.  You're asking ~$130 (depending on BTC fluctuation).  I'm not trying to troll, just making sure my math is correct and you have about a $50 markup on these (more if buying from the US)?  I'm genuinely interested but I could get four 1oz eagles for less.

minting, uv reflective coating, serial numbering, postage, packaging, heat shrink wrapping etc increase the cost of a product over spot. you will always struggle to find bars or rounds being sold at spot prices.

this is the price for these 100g bars, if you dont mind what form your silver comes in such as generic rounds or noahs arks then i can get closer to spot price. likewise if you want 1kg bar which is also uv and serial numbered i can get closer to spot price, pm me :)

You need to update as BTC has been under $125 for quite some time.

there are plenty of sites with very good reputations who sell at 2-5% higher than spot (not including delivery)

i agree there are, however i am selling a unique security product and including shipping and tax that is the cheapest deal for bitcoin.

i think next month i may start offering noah ark rounds (also unique product) at 5% over spot to silence the "spot hunters".

while btc has dropped, silver has also followed so this offer is good for as long as i say or until the prices significantly diverge.

Silver came quick and safe (within 3 days, EU). No issues with customs office here.

prices have moved slightly and been updated. now accepting fiat in the form of paypal or bank tf.

why buy a geiger bar?

geiger is considered the rolls royce of bars in europe. using sophisticated anti forgery systems they use the most current in manufacturing technology.

geiger has been around for over 800 years and their product line is expanding, selling 500k 1oz noahs arks last year.

geiger is indeed a good choice for PM, but one should also note that their one PM series is not LBMA certified.

doesnt change a thing about the silver purity ;-) but can be a bit more complicated to sell.

difficult to keep track with spot down and btc up. current offer is 0.8 on bars + shipping until i dont like the parity.

you do seem very confused AndrewWilliams, let me clear things up for you :)

geiger do not make any alloy products and certainly nothign containing nickel.

the bars are 999 pure silver, as minted on the bars themselves. they come sealed from the mint and contain uv protective coating and serial number to validate their authenticity.

the initial misunderstanding was that geiger is a german company, hence the term "german silver'. it has nothing to do with copper nickel alloy.

happy for you to purchase a bar to verify this yourself, as other members have done and posted in this thread.

@FuzzyBear only the stock horse coins come with a certificate, the year of the horse bullion lunar does not have a certificate (only the proof version which i don't have).

@koelen3 you will have your tracking number tomorrow, its not always possible for me to get to the safe as they only keep business hours for security reasons.

all seems very strange, the package was sealed so you should have seen signs of anyone opening it, was the tape cut? if it was customs they usually replace with customs tape to show they have opened it. ive never had any damage or customs interfering in packages, maybe netherlands customs are different.

you can replace the cases with airtites, check their site or ebay sell singles which will fit the coins.

i use only standard mail, not a courier company but drop me a picture with the damage as i would be interested to see it. apologies for what happened but this appears to be a rare and unusual case.

the current mintage is 8 million for 2013, much less than the silver eagle (think 40mil) but with 3 times the population of the usa. in 2011 it became legal for chinese citizens to own silver coins, the future looks bright :)

with silver and bitcoin all over the place the current price is 0.2btc per coin + shipping (around 0.1 for up to 10 tracked)

I don't know /a lot/ about PMs at the moment but I am reading up - can someone else verify the issue with no Certificate of Authority and how much of an issue this *really* is?

I also noticed dozerz sells quite high above spot, as mentioned, so I'm wondering if this is the smartest place for me to try and diversify into metals?

You probably meant Certificate of Authenticity. Well the issue is just that you don't have a certificate by any kind of authority in these matters that the metal you're buying is precisely what it claims it is. If it's not an issue to you it might be for a potential buyer when you'll look to sell them.

please note lunars are not sold at spot price, just like pandas etc. generic rounds like eagles are but their mintage is much higher. 1kg silver bars i can sell for very close to spot :)

silver rarely comes with a certificate of authenticity, hence why geiger have added extra security such as uv coat, serial number and plastic heat shrink. i am not aware of any geiger bar forgeries.

never expected the lunars to be so popular so will stock mouse, ox, tiger, rabbit and dragon for anyone else wanting to complete their collection.

i can get the series 1 lunars if theres demand, prices are normally double the series 2 price so 99 rabbits are around 0.5 btc.

Well, be on the lookout for fuckers on the Abmahnungs-Trip. I received one from a German "competitor" (lolwut) for a faulty AGB/Impressum.

As for invoice, if you are selling privately, you cannot charge VAT.
If I buy PMs for my store, I most certainly need to deduct the VAT I spend, since I need to charge MY customers VAT.

thankfully in the country i operate the laws for Abmahnungs are significantly different to germany and austria, so dont expect to get any.

i plan to keep my operation private as i sell products that are different to the big guys and cant compete with them on price. for special stuff like geiger or for some semi numismatic perth mint i will continue to be very competitive :)

Are there any offers for platinum? Searching for Isle of Man 1 Noble with shipment to Germany or Poland.

Geiger started in 2008 - the building their office is located in dates to the 17th century – That´s all.

It´s indeed difficult to sell them. Most dealers and all banks here in Germany won´t touch ingots from private producers.
Calling them the Rolls Royce goes a little too far  ;)

What about those Dudocu bars? Are those available?

never heard of any difficulty selling geiger bars on the private market. its a well respected brand thats recognised worldwide for quality in precious metals but thanks for your opinion :)

The 50x1g gold bars are an interesting concept, as are the 10x1g hereus 'wallet' friendly packs :)

i have the valcambi 50g and 20 x 1g combibars in gold if youre interested? no uk vat :) they also do silver, platinum and palladium.

me too, but the bar is most likely not just silver, it has also gone through processing and thus dozerz might have gotten them at probably 25. He's only earning a 10 dollar profit

this was a project that i never completed and was to be moved to its own site.

I noticed that they are out of stock on all major websites. Will Geiger be making new 100 grams (that you know of)? I currently have 3 but I personally think they are the best looking bars out there ;D

you can buy them directly from geiger in germany and switzerland, plenty of stock there :) i see they have a new minted line based on castle güldengossa, not sure if this is intended to replace the security line.
