What precisely is the purpose of this coin? Is it just about a POW coin that anybody can mine and use or are you going to implement some distinct feature as well?

The original purpose was a tribute coin to iron maiden's Eddie. Iron Maiden never got back for a official permit to use the images(the artist said to ask IM) so he rebranded(for now while he tries to get permission from IM). Actual roadmap is still WIP pretty much but at the moment it is a simple honest coin to steadily grow. Not every coin needs to have some special uber duper deep idea behind it.

Plus it's nice to for once see a dev that didn't mine millions of their own coin but mined it and used their own pool fees to gather coin to use for exchanges and other things.

It is a very honest coin that IMHO doesn't seem like a cashgrab where the dev just dumps the coins to get some quick cash.

Ok I got reply from pickaxe pool owner, I lost about 10K Eddie coins with mining on that pool. Pool node is out of sync and there are still miners on that pool, which I don't understand.

The pool owner currently didn't offer any solution!

I'm sorry about the conflicted transactions.
I looked closely into this issue and to my understanding that there was a announced fork on this coin just 3 days ago.  
Those mining with the old wallet, as I was, did not notice. I have a backup of the old chian if needed.

pickaxe.online is now running on the new blockchain.

Yes but your pool was using wrong chain for 2-3 days so this is not dev problem but your problem. Beside you didn't notice failed transactions for 2-3 days, which makes me doubt about your skills to run pool.
I see few other miners lost money because of your mistake, but you don't seem to care about that that too much, that is absolutely best commercial for http://pickaxe.online pool.

Mining pool doesn't update their wallet for three days. causing people to mine on the old chain.

Go bug pickaxe. they were using a old blockchain and didn't update their wallet. Eddie dev can't do anything. he didn't pre-mine so he doesn't have alot of coins to help you.

I lost 0,2 btc with pickaxe.online pool. Pool owner doesn't care about that. It is his mistake, he didn't upgrade wallet for 3 days and we were mining wrong chain because of that. I will follow this guy on all forums that he makes his post for his pool and link them back to this topic if he doesn't return the money that I have lost.I suggest you do the same.

i understand why you are pissed off, but it is your own fault. you should have stopped mining after the first day with no payments. i have done the same mistake as you in the past which have learned me to keep a look with the mining and payments.

I was mining only for few hours, so I couldn't notice that before. As soon as i noticed this I stop mining. I don't agree with you, it is pool operator duty to use correct chain, not miners.

If everything is correctly setup you should see at least your address between workers on pool page. But notice mining is done with more than 100 GHz, so you will wait quite long for your payouts.

That mean is for every excavated block to maintain the mine will be allocated 3% instead of 1%. There are more people and more power and the cost of maintain is increasing.

In case you need a place to move, http://zpool.ca lowers the fees the more hashrate there is. Currently the fee is 1% for being over 580GH/s

how about you stop fucking over a dev that didn't pre-mine and is dependent on his pool's fees to be able to pay for the development of the coin. I know the sweet sweet money is nice but please let this coin use it's own pool.

But yeah dev you need to add more difficulty options to your pool. I have seen people getting NH order errors on the diff being too low.

I also mined in the official dev pool yesterday for a few hours but the missing share distribution and 12 hour mining without a single found block drove me away.

what is the % you take there anyways it wasn't visible to me...

as I see it if you start a 0% premine coin you shouldn't expect people to join your pool but give them a reason to do so

Hi Guys, question: My anti-virus picked the Eddiecoin wallet up. I disabled it, but now the wallet keeps just dissapearing. Downloading it again and re-opening it gives me an error before it's simply dissapears again. Anyone else having this or having a fix to this?

Its quite nice indeed. Currently getting 1k coins a day from staking. Now i just need a big pump and il be happy.

I started out with 5k eddie coins and got two stakes in about 24h.. not bad.

easy now we are only at block 16600 and the 5000% first start at block 50k and that takes some time with 3 min block time.

it is important to emphasize that .conf file must be exact name as stated here eddiecoin.conf.
any deviation and the nodes will not register-hence no connections and no syncing. lol

i finally realised my .conf file was saved under wrong name. i followed the example in earlier post aand it started to sync. then it got stuck at block 10,000 and stays there no matter what i do. been this way for days now.

I downloaded the wallet in forum first posting.

i actually looked closer at the version of my current installed wallet and noticed it was 1.0 so i went to this forum and downloaded the new one. now its in sync mode like normal and almost done in fact. so guy check your version. if you still have the version with that evil robot that is the old version.

well yeah. the difficulty is super high. it's hashrate is low so it will not find blocks. unfortunally people are mining at non-developer pools so the dev is not getting any income from mining fees.

I am trying to setup the wallet, eddiecoin.conf in the roaming folder and all, but from the log it seems that I am getting connection timeouts to the nodes. Any ideas on why?

I am using a VPS, even tried to disable the windows firewall to check if it is blocking any ports without luck

This is the most profitable coin I've ever staked/mined. I put 27K in my wallet and staked 32K from 12-17 to 12-24.  The only thing I'm wondering is if it will dumping to one sat unless there's a bigger purpose for the coin or there's a burn. There's way too many max vol in these cryptos. The total cryptos aren't the problem. It's the infinite vols and the outrageous numbers in the billions that these devs have out there. Maybe if the % of ppl were in the double digits, would make sense. But, there's like 15M ppl total in this atm and that's peanuts and it won't sustain crazy numbers of coins.

Here is my opinion, there are going to be a lot of coins, pretty sure about 1000 billion max.

Currently at block 320,000 the circulating supply is about 300 billion. It appears that after block 1,000,000 to block 2,000,000 the staking reward is 5000% apr. (Annual percentage rate).

Currently it is 300%.

However, the largest holder has about 25 billion. He appears to be staking about 5 mil each block he gets.

However, keep in mind that the stakers are incentivized to hold at least to block 1,000,000 so they can get that 5000%.

I noticed that altilly has 10 decimal places to trade doge with, that is very good, because I don't think 1 dogetoshi (0.00000001) is a low enough price for this coin.

At the very bottom price on the altilly exchange it is 0.0000000001 doge. At this price, all 1.6 trillion eddie is valued at 160 doge $0.384 usd!

I am aware that most people think this is a bad thing, however, it is actually a very good thing, because it means that eddiecoin will discover a bottom price, which then provides opportunity for gains with a change in price direction.
