What do you think about Ethereum in like 5years?
Still existing as the dominent blockchain platform? Or disapeared?

i think that ethereum is not that great
yes its useful right now and it has a big price
but its not a good solution for the worldwide adoption of crypto
its good for startups - but its implemented badly enough for big companies and banks refuse to use it as a solution
there are better solutions coming like ETC, ADA, Komodo

But they are still related to ETH, so it will still be afloat in 3-4-5 even 10 years in my opinion.

I think Ethereum will be a big thing in the next 5 years because as we can see it now there are many tokens created based from that platform. Like Bitcoin, it has never goes up very quickly, it has very down moments and now it is going higher, anyway I think Ethereum has very high potential.

The more ICOs are getting on the cyprto market with eth related the more and more would get to check Etherium out and alot would be interested. Im expecting 1000$-1500$  in the next 3-5 years.

In five years, you can expect the price of ethereum to be near 1500-2000$ for sure as ethereum is one of the most popular cryptocurrencies available in the market right now. It is currently, the most used platform for new tokens and ICOs. The most important features of ethereum include smart contracts and fast transactions.

I think ethereum will evolutionize at something really huge and influential in some years. May be Vitalik will change it by another project, but I suppose the name ethereum is too loud to change it too ;)

I am very optimistic about the future of ETH because up to now more than 80 coin have used ETH address and certainly need ETH for transaction fee. 5 more years ETH price will reach more than $ 10,000.

I think ethereum will emerge in 5 years. Emerge in a way that it will make a name just like bitcoin. It is now beginning to make a noise, some have great reviews on Ethereum and some have negative reviews about this. Who knows what can it offers in 5 years to come, but my predictions says that it will progress and emerge as a widely used mode to tranfer between accounts. In digital cryptocurrency, everything is inevitable, all we can do is to monitor it states in the market and hope for it to grow as we want it to be.

In 5 years, ethereum will be 2nd in the coin market cap still. I don't think it can pass bitcoin and will be 1st. Bitcoin is always stay 1st

Ethereum certainly has various problems with security and platform use. And yet I don't understand why you say that etc is a better solution, for we all know this is the dumped version of eth. If we talk about better platforms then they are Waves and NEO, right? Nevertheless, I don't think that they will beat eth in 5 years, they are likely to always be in the shadows of the giant. Surely, though, in 5 years anything can happen, so it's hard to predict such a distant future of this market.

dead and gone or a shadow of its former self. bitcoin's value doesn't really depend on its technical excellence. all it has to do is stay solid and working.

ethereum is all about bells and whistles. there'll be another system along soon that does a better and much more secure job soon with much less complexity and risk and no need to buy in to a stupidly over inflated market.

between now and then the enterprise alliance thing might happen which has nothing to do with ethereum other than providing the code, so perhaps some people will finally realise that corporate involvement also means corporate partitioning from any market.

Eth has grown rapidly since its creation and its price is relatively high but what can harm it- in my opinion -  is new coins that are being created every day ( coin related to ETH ) and most of these coins may be a kind of scam (their​ aim is just getting money from investors ) .
It's hard to predict how crypto market will be within 5 years due​ to its volatility thus I think ETH is not so strong to resist this  long period

in my opinion ethereum is a big embarrassment in the whole cryptocurrency market. it had the biggest ICO, then also a huge permine and then it continued to use all that money to manipulate and bribe everyone to pump the price up.
all this wouldn't have been so bad if there has not been so many bugs in it and lots of hacks and theft associated with it.

other platforms doing similar thing are currently growing fast. there will also be better ones in the future which all, hopefully, replace ETH for good.

Nowadays I think Ethereum is only pretty & most potential  coin of my looking.I have some ETH & I want to try long term hold because this coin is moon.After 5 years ETH increase minimum 5000$-8000$ just my prediction.

Probably. In my Opinion, EOS and NEO could be independent of ETH.  They'll probably become their own railway as ETH has already established its own railway.  The choice to build on any three would be up to the developers as the features of the 3 present themselves.  I like what EOS is presenting over ETH, including the no trans fees, etc.  Bought into EOS and NEO/antshares either way.  Hoping they both turn out to be the next ETH as far as monetary investment. Maybe even a better railway.  We'll see in the next few years I'm sure.  Tech is changing so fast here.

I think blockchain will always exist and bitcoin remains the top. It's hard to replace her and everyone knows it. For eth i guess in 5 years then it will go up to $ 1000 even more.  I hope the future crypto can be better and can be a legal means of payment.

I think ethereum is a very good coin in which you should invest as it is showing good amount of growth and looking at the popularity of ethereum, the same can be expected from ethereum in future.
It is one of the most used platform for hosting ICOs and features like smart contract and quick transactions make it very promising project.
Looking at the current trends, in 5 years the price of ethereum will be above 1000$ for sure.

I think that a lot of projects need to appear and blockchain needs to be mastered by many more before ETH loses the throne ;) I think that many current projects using ETH platform need to develop before they can even start thinking about creating their own blockchain. and let's not ignore that many more projects using ETH will appear in the upcoming years;)

It all depends on the projects using the ethereum network. If they have an actual use of the blockchain, then ethereum is bound to go up in price.

Yes it will still be the dominant one because the mire older it gets the more development will under take pkace for it. This means the new features will attract the ICO projects and these projects in turn will attract more customers to invest money. This cycle will keep going on in the long run and the five year period is a lot for the new advanced technology to take shape.


This will in turn also increase the prices of ethereum which might be more than 2K USD and that's gonna happen for sure because there won't be any other blockchain as old as ether has provided.

I do not know why people bring things to such an extreme, ETH is a good project, it is going to lose dominance with so many other coins trying to do the same thing but it is not going to disappear in 5 years, I still see it as a top 10 coin but not in the second place as it is right now.

I think there will be something very new in blockchain area. Something that will eclipse ethereum in some years...

I do not think Ethereum will disappear in 5 years. IMO, It will still be a blockchain platform but there will be more of the other platforms coming up.

I believe Ethereum will continue to exist due to its prominent development team and popularity around the world. The value will continue to rise in the long run and I won't be surprised if it touches thousand bucks within five years.

Etherum is one of the best coins right now in terms of price and platform But It's unlikely that it'll reach the 1000$ bar like some members suggested.

Right now there's DeepOnion Coin operating in Thor network that are steadly becoming more and more popular and sells at cheap price (before it's skyrocket !!).

what do I know, this is the crypto universe and the blockchain its the future and ethereum is creating a wave ride it.

I think for next year or two it definitely will be around. After that it's hard to predict. Even tho the coin is promising, and people are putting much hope in it, nothing is for sure. That being said, I have high hopes for the future of the coin.

5 years on ETH? We don't know if it would exist on those years or not since no man can able to predict on what would happen on future 5 years is long way to go and there would be lots of things that would still happen along the way but I can still presume that ETH would exist on those years and for sure some of altcoins as of todays would really follow the trend of development and into its value.

If ethereum can solve the scaling issue or the network and computing has advanced to a level, we might see ethereum becomes the new internet where many apps and logics are running on top of it. However, 5 year is a long time in technology, AI might advanced to a level and we might all be in the matrix soon.

I think it would still exsist just like bitcoin. Because ethereum are doing great compared to other altcoin and competitive capabilities might bring this coins into a long journey.  And it contuously soar the market against others altcoin.

I would very surprised if it didnt hit 000s in that much time. I think it could possibly be a lot higher but a lot of this depends on the ICO situation. The reason Ethereum is pumping hard or ceases to get dumped is because

considering that etherium is the second most traded crypto currency in the market today i'm no doubt that this will go atleast 1k level or even more higher. i do hope that they would create more profitable project ti generate income and attract investor

Considering that i dont think that raiden can act as a solution to the clogging of the network when big icos are happening, i dont look forward to an almighty future. Just the idea to push everything on one chain.. might work out in the current magnitude but if there happens real adoption and real world usage i dont think it will be able to keep up with the increased data traffic.

For me ethereum will be exist for more long years. This has been use for many traders and users like in ico project. Yes I agree with you it will soaring high soon so invest while we can.

that's right, Ethereum is a very good coin, a lot of Ethereum traders and miners. this is very good, Ethereum will always be there. coins that have a better potential.

My expectation on ethereum is big, this coin have very very big potential for future, why? because of the ICO nowadays. Most of ICO now is based from ERC20. Remember what happened January 2017 when price of each ethereum is 10$? Then what will happen after 5 years? For me, the next bitcoins is ethereum.

For me I think it is a coin that great for hold for long term and has the very potential that could really grow. I know it really has a big price of being an altcoin but there really are some good potential altcoin also out there that does like what is Ethereum is doing just like Monero, Litecoin and Dashcoin they really are some potential coins to invest too. I think Ethereum in that span of 5 years will increase its price but this coins I recommend also will dominate also the world of crypto in that span of years and I love to collect some of it this time.

In my own opinion Ethereum will still be second to bitcoin after 5 years from now. Bitcoin will have a big increase in price and that will also apply to Ethereum.  :)

Ethereum has a unique  technol and i believe if the situation with ICOs remain as it it will be will grow up to $800 - $1000 but i think will be stable.

with so many ico based on ethereum network, i think ethereum have a big chance to exist until 5 years more and we know that ethereum have a big community too which is supporting ethereum. on the other side, the ico is trying to reach their goals in the market so we are waiting that if this is true, then maybe ethereum will be solid coins that we should invest right now. but we should remember that if one coins want to still exist in crypto world, the coins must get full support from the dev and the team and the community.

Nothing to believe about the bigger than bitcoin but in my view there are some reasons to be determined as the main point to the ethereum may worth a lot in the future.
The first POS implemented and the second was Byzantium, Plasma and raiden update. All of them will make the price of ethereum, will worth a lot especially for the POS update.

Bitcoin is like the mother of all cryptocurrencies, almost all of the altcoins out there always use bitcoin as their base price rate and that's why bitcoin is unreplaceable by ETH or many more.
and if you realize, bitcoin is the only one cryptocurrency that spendable in so many stores, and known by many people, while ETH, only known by tech savvy.

If you asking for my opinion Etherium price will be rice up for a 5 years also as a bitcoin price. This is all just a beginning, remember my words.

In my opinion, the future of Ethereum is pretty good over the next five years. It has many advantages to convince people. Its platform is a lot of people's favorite, it uses smart contracts, links between blocks, makes transactions faster. In terms of value, it is also very good, with total market capitalization just behind Bitcoin. Many investors have chosen it, experts also predict that ETH value will increase in the future. Of course, this is just my personal guess, in the future it may be different :D

as what bitcoin and always ethereum are there next to it after 5 five years that would be more great i dont see that it will surpass the bitcoin but it will always next to bitcoin and no other altcoin can replace on what the eth are now that was for my opinion only but how about if not i think waves have this possibility. But all good i see on eth now.

if any of my recent crowdfunding investments which ethereum has helped the many now in the the business community to get funds, I will certainly buy ETH as an investment, at the moment it is the go to coin.

i think eth will really be a blast now that a series of ICO in its path the market will be big that it might be larger than bitcoin its nice to invest to ETH now that its price is really low hold it for a few years and it would be a nice investment

You're commenting this wrongly if you ask me because the market cap doesn't determine the value of ethereum. The opposite is valid. The ethereum value determines the market cap of it. I think it will be like 500 USD within 5 years.

To be honest, i never thought ETH would moon this much but it obviously has the potential to moon a lot more in the future and i think it might actually pass BTC as the volume's in BTC and ETH are not so far off but we can't compare BTC and ETH for several reasons such as their blockchain's are different as BTC is made for one specific point and ETH is made for various things such as smart contracts which helps boost the price of ETH in my opinion.

In my point of view:
-1st: Eth will always be there as a lot of projects are based on this blockchain
-2nd: It has to evolve to grow as much as bitcoin
-3rd: About price, I'm mitigate about it. if it do x10 a lot of person will be more than happy but I'm not sure it will...

That is a possibility, but even if a new coin is better that is not enough, the technology of a coin is just one of the deciding factors, ETH has many years of advantage and the more time passes the more advantage it gets and at some point its advantage may become so big that it could be impossible to surpass it.

I think in 5 years, ethereum will atract more investors as it is happening now. It will have lots and lots of promising projects. And most of all it will retain its position on being second to bitcoin.

I heard something in the Bitcoin community and something big is coming within this month, i will keep an eye out.

For that to happen China will have to lift its ban on icos, since that has affected negatively the market, and this is why I think ETH is not skyrocketing too, the moment that happens ETH will go up once again but it will take time for the train to gain momentum again so I predict this is going to happen until 2019.

Ethereum can overthrown bitcoin. Bitcoin is a waste of electric energy and hardware, the only thing PoW do is a calculation of the right Sha256. All these time and energy for nothing... On the other hand ethereum does a very important work, is more valuable, has real value, not just a wasted energy value. Ethereum, neo , waves etc have real value.

This does not make sense, the energy used by miners is not a waste, it is like saying that the electricity you are using to do your job was wasted, we need the miners to confirm our transaction and while all the coins you mentioned are good coins none of them are better than bitcoin

Ethereum will last more than 5 years. Yes bitcoin is the number one and Ethereum is the second but will see after 5 years. It will gonna hit big time and I know that everybody are all excited a bout it.

I think cryptocurrency is working to eliminate banks and take their place not to cope up with banks to foster the fiat system. ETH is the only currency atleast as of now that has capacity to become next bitcoin. I think it's pretty stable in price, but in terms of specs, there are a lot of other blockchains coming out that are better, faster, and stronger. I think like bitcoin, it was one of the first, so it'll stick around.

It will still alive and will getting stronger, some of the investors prefer to put their money on eth because the price is not too high and there are so many project related to eth, eth got a slow movement but stable, eth has grown into one of strong alt coin and it is a good coin for long investment

When days coming past bitcoin cash was seen going stronger than before, I'm looking forward to the following weeks or months because it seems in good condition. Definitely I was invest now in this altcoins, I know this last segwit was given way to bitcoin cash to increase their price in the market.
Therefore I also given myself a chance to have another investment due to good value of all crypto currencies in digital community, maybe sooner or later this crypto was possibly become one of the top currency in crypto currency society.

I think that the etherium will continue to be technologically improved and this will keep its leadership position among the altcoys. Recently, the founder of the etherium Vitaly Buterin said that in 2018 - 2019 a new version of the etherium platform will be released, at which the ICO is held, which will allow such projects to be carried out more qualitatively. It's useful and I think it will rise in the next 5 years, not rocket like bitcoin but consistently.

I actually expect the price to probably lose some value in the next 5 years before a big pump takes it to another all time high. Never been a big ethereum fan myself, and i feel like the markets are bullish now and that's the reason why ethereum is still so close to bitcoin's market cap.

Ethereum has great dev team to constantly tackle issue that ethereum faces. Even though ethereum has a lot of limitation, while other coins can do much better in certain aspect, the public still believe in ethereum more. For example, bitcoin and ethereum have been the only 2 coins for many fiat to crypto exchanges.

If the name of Coin comes after Bitcoin, then it is only the name of the ETH. 90% of the Token Coin wallet and the payment gateway are doing it, so that the demand can be rapidly growing in 5 yrs. my opinion eth target 5000$ touch in next five years. In 5 years, ethereum will be 2nd in the coin market cap still. Ethereum cannot pass bitcoin. Bicoin is 1st and it will be..We know ethereum is very attractive to investors.And its true that Bitcoin is a waste of electric energy and hardware..

If seen from the price developments and the investors who invested in it all this time, I think ethereum will continue to be ranked second under bitcoin, maybe even the strength of its value is almost close to bitcoin seems, but still.. I often see in 2018 predicting the ETH will reach 1K$,is there any speculation about it? I myself see ETH cannot reach to 1K$ in the year 2018 start or end because it's stable at 300$ to 400$.ETH development I think is impossible to penetrate 1K$,there are many sales out there that make the price stable. ;)

Ethereum could be nr 1 in 5 years. Bitcoin keeps forking, people are losing trust because of that and are looking for a new stable coin. Although, maybe litecoin could take that roll

I think that if one or two dapps that run on ethereum succeed, then the price of eth will run up along with them. At this point, the odds are in eth's favor since there are so many dapps and tokens already on the ethereum blockchain.

I think ethereum will be doing good in the next five years but it have to keep up with the competition. There are other altcoins that will become a high competition in the next 5 years for ethereum. I see nem is developing rapidly and working hard on the groundworks. It could become a serious competition for ethereum one day.

When it come to price stability in the market, ethereum have more stable that the other coins even bitcoin. ETH is doing great great since from the start until today, and it could be possible same scenario may happen in a long run. But not as very competitive compared to bitcoin.

Beside that, the founder Vitalik Buterin is a genius man , he always looking for solution for issue in Ethereum and always solve the problem. He also active in many blockchain conference.

it seems to the tread on the ethrium it is not there, because the etherium is old and very many users. with this etherium only regulate its marketing.

For now ethereum development is very good, but ethereum for this year must recognize the strength of bitcoin, bitcoin price is more expensive and there is no altcoin that can replace the bitcoin position for now, maybe ethereum can be victorious in the next year.

near future ETH price  break $500 soon .

the future is blind, but i beileve ethereum will exist and become a huge blockchain platform in 5 years
a lot of companies will use the belockchain of ethreum

If Ethereum keeps up the good work and continues to have traction within the developer community as much as they do now or more I see them being one of the top blockchains out there.
They are already so it can only get more popular unless something odd happens to the network or regulations go the wrong way on crypto.

I think ETH is 1000$-2000$ with take second place in coinmarketcap next 3-5 years.

I find it very difficult for waves to overtake the etherium price because the level of use of more etherium is the main factor of my opinion.

In 5 years i see Ethereum as the still one of the main cryptocoins, with atleast 10x bigger market cap than it has today. There are so many real world uses coupled with so many developers building on top of it... The future is going to be insane for Eth early adopters!

our expectations must be the same. hoping there remains a dominant platform and blockchain, but today the value of etherum falls. I also do not really understand, what makes the value of etherum today can fall drastically.
My hope, hopefully the etherum value can be the same as bitcoin  ;)

I think it will be bigger than ever in 5 years.  Many ICO's and companies will begin to use ethereum as a platform to perform smart contracts and automate their businesses using the ethereum network.  Companies will also use ethereum to issue tokens from their companies and use it as shares to profits that they generate on the blockchain. I think as of right now, ethereum is the safest coin to invest in. 

i am thinking the same with you, ethereum will reach their goal in future although i don't know when the time that they can reach it but i see ethereum have a big chance to become bigger in next 5 years. there are many ico that base on ethereum and it makes ethereum become important to that project and the ethereum dev itself want to develop and make the their goals become success. and now i still having my ethereum waiting for sell in high price and i think i will buy more ethereum in next day.

It really is exciting to imagine where ETH or even other cryptocurrencies will be in 5 years time.
I can imagine that not only it's value ($), but its actual technology will be much more advanced than today.

I think in 5 years period most of altcoins will of course die but Ethereum will stand still, alive with some of her tokens. I think ethereum services will go mainstream and many people will meet crypto thanks to ethereum.

I do believe that Ethereum has a good future so 5 years from now would be a good investment and I'm going to buy coins while it's still cheaper this year. I believe in Ethereum and I will support it by increasing my investments.

That's too cheap. I predict Ethereum will be valued $2k next year 2018 then $10k to $20k after 5 years.

Ethereum has potential to develop into something greater, but Ethereum is not Bitcoin!
We have all seen Bitcoin go from ground ZERO all the way to the MOON and pass that too!

I would like to see Ethereum increase in value actually start competing with rival coins like Bitcoin but it's too far to tell at this point.

If there are infinite ETH....then why should the price go up?

I'm just new here in cryto currency but maybe eth will become strong or have a good price on it but then again it won't take over bitcoin because bitcoin is first in the industry.

What do you poeple think this will do to ETH?

It will still alive and will getting stronger, some of the investors prefer to put their money on eth because the price is not too high and there are so many project related to eth, eth got a slow movement but stable, eth has grown into one of strong alt coin and it is a good coin for long investment

Now it should be in my opinion at least 1000$. So it is like spring - should just explode oneday! We saw this when it go from 11$ to 300.$

Since in the cryptocurrency field we can't say with surity that what will happen in the future , Because Everything depends upon the demand and the supply ( pumping and dumping by particular groups are temporary things only ).
But still here the use of Etherium coin since the 1.5 years is using by the most project are common than the use of bitcoin , specially in the ICOs project are using Etherium coin support for tocken to sell and and in Etherium as an priority option .
So here we can expect that Etherium can go more up like bitcoin and probably may be it will have value 0.5 btc /ETH .
Here another factor also will work that is the technology , since the technology of the Etherium Coin is already better but I think they will make more and more improve time to time like bitcoin ,so in that case may be the ehterium will be able to beat the market of the bitcoin ( but still we should not forget that bitcoin was king and is king , so future is what we know from these lines ) .

I think it will overtake Bitcoin at some point, but I'm not sure when exactly, and I'm not sure if it will stay #1 once it gets there. It is possible some other new crypto will come out that is better than all the ones we have right now!

I think we will see well over a billion dollars lost because Eth is shit. My easy math estimate is that we are close to half a billion already.

The bitcoin price is also increased very slowly. But suddenly an unexpected increment we saw in this year. i think no one expected this increment in bitcoin price. Like this ETH also now stable at $300 one day it will cross suddenly $1k this is guaranteed but when it will cross that i am not sure we have to wait for that time. In 5 years 100% it will be in good position.
