What is Bitcoinereum?

Bitcoinereum is a Bitcoin like Minable Ethereum ERC20 Token, the first of this kind.

Launched in 2017, it brings the Bitcoin Supply mechanism into a Smart Contract allowing a bitcoin like currency to run on the ethereum blockchain.

It is a bitcoin community token, anyone can mine Bitcoinereum!

Mining Reward

The mining reward of Bitcoinereum is the same as bitcoin in its perfect conditions.

Initially, 50 coins are generated every 10 minutes (same like bitcoin in the beginning).

The Mining is done by calling the function Mine() of the Smart Contract.

Users only require to have few ETH in their wallets to pay the ethereum network fees.

To avoid mining monopoly and better distribution, each call to the Mine() function delivers 1 BTCM to the sender, only a total of 50 calls are allowed per 10 minutes (totaling the max of 50 coins generated per 10 minutes).

Reward Halving

Like in bitcoin, Bitcoinereum comes with reward halving.

Every 4 years the Mining Reward will be halved.

Supply

The total max supply is 21,000,000 BTCM, same like in bitcoin.

Coins can only be generated via Mining, there is no other possibility to generate coins.

The initial Supply is 0 BTCM.

It will take approximately 132 years to mine all BTCM.

How to Mine

All instructions here: http://bitcoinereum.com/#mine-btcm

Wish I knew where to start :(

How to Mine

You can mine with any Ethereum wallet that supports Smart Contracts.

For this example we will use Myetherwallet.com:

1. Open https://www.myetherwallet.com/

2. Click on the "Contracts" tab

3. In the "Contract Address" field insert the BTCM Smart Contract Address: 0x03df4c372a29376d2c8df33a1b5f001cd8d68b0e

4. In the "ABI / JSON Interface" insert the ABI located here: https://pastebin.com/5Djhmm8n

5. Scroll down to the area "Read / Write Contract" select the function "Mine"

6. Load your ETH wallet, Click on "Write", Generate and send the Transaction (Make sure you have some ETH, network Fees apply)

7. If the Mining is successful you will get 1 BTCM (1 BTCM per call).

All Transactions can be verified on the Bitcoinereum block explorer here: https://etherscan.io/token/0x03df4c372a29376d2c8df33a1b5f001cd8d68b0e

The source code can be verified here: https://etherscan.io/address/0x03df4c372a29376d2c8df33a1b5f001cd8d68b0e#code

To verify what's the current reward period check the function RewardStart and RewardEnd, these functions return the start and end of a reward period in Unix format, to convert it to real time use a Unix Time Converter website (Example: https://www.epochconverter.com/)

So i have to call the function Mine everytime i want to mine a Token? That's a lot of transaction fees... I don't think it's worth it

Exactly my thought, following these procedure, you may actually end up out of pocket.  I'm not entirely convinced its worth it as it stands.

You decide how much you want to pay for the transaction fees.

You can reduce the gas price for your transactions, however, the lower the gas price the slower the transaction will be processed.

How this could be like bitcoin both are opposite of each other the original supply must be over 16 million and mining reward is so huge what you are offering. This is nothing just another shit scam coin you must fork the original chain and make airdrop on based on snapshot of blockchain than move forward like BCH.

Just a question. How much is the gas minimum? Firstly I used standard 21000 but transaction was rejected.

Hi guys,

Not to interrupt your thread on "Bitcoinereum" but we at Bitcoineum have been mobile mining the next BTC for 2+ months, with a community of hundreds of miners, 250k+ in value, and an ecosystem of tools and support. You can check us out at www.bitcoineum.com or come join us at t.me/bitcoineum and have some instructions and basic information on /r/bitcoineum

We also actually mimic the BTC structure, and have a number of innovations including smart contract pools for group mining. Please, accept no imitations. :)

Yes, I heard that self mining projects. But those projects where genesis addresses are limited for participants. MNE distributed those addresses unfairly, while the ver2 of it is which is artemine... I am not sure if it is worth a penny.

FYI, if this coin were to become valuable, real actual Ethereum miners could easily just front run all the rewards in order to "mine" it themselves. I don't recommend wasting your ETH paying for gas to run the mine contract.

Well it's not that easy.

First the miner needs to actually mine the block.

Second the miner would have replace ETH transactions by his Bitcoinereum ones, that would be transaction that he wouldn't get gas from and so he would get less ETH profit.

That means, if this starts to get profitable enough for miners I don't see any problems if miners start prioritizing their own transactions.

If that happens, the early miners (we) will make enough money already  ;D

So while that doesn't happen we are still in time to make good money out of this  :)

I guess you guys just want free money? Because hardware mining equals money and ICO equals money too. :/

I introduced similar concept this September https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2196804.msg22078128
But mine involves actual mining (solving PoW; there's also difficulty retarget, just like in Bitcoin) and I made mining available right in browser. Its in beta testing on ropsten test network, gona deploy to main net soon and make an announcement!

open a separate command prompt/cmd

Then  cd c:\program files\geth\
> geth attach

Then do everything here

Unless your geth isn't located there

and it returned gaslimit: 5000

I think that is the problem with the gaslimit exceeds error...

This can be because you are not synced with the network as the gas limit of the old blocks was lower than the current ones.

Suggest you to sync up with the network, to sync you just need to leave geth running (you may need up to 30 GB free space in your PC, normally in 1 night it should get synced).

To check if you are synced with the network you can run the command eth.blockNumber (run it on the geth attach windows), the result should be the current ETH block (you can check the latest block number here: https://etherscan.io/)

If the problem continues after this let us know

No wonder.  OK.  I mean that's a pretty critical part of the instructions ???.  If news like me dont know what geth is we def dont know that we need to sync.  I guess this will take longer to figure out then I thought.  Thanks for the reply OP.

Im feeling like this is a dumb method of 'mining' only 50 coins every 5 minutes.. it should be rewarded divided into how many people in those 5 minutes paid gas to mine the coins. This is more like a mining lottery. Doesnt matter what gas you use, ive tried it all. At this rate I've wasted a few dollars just to get 1 single BTCM coin. I cant auto-mine with geth as I use MetaMask and there is no keystore file you can export only private key.  I was hoping this would be something worth while but trying to win a lotto every 5 minutes burning gas doesnt seem worth it. If the mining rewards were split into even for the number of people for the 5 minutes it would make a lot more sense.

Well first it's not every every 5 minutes, it's every 10 minutes (like bitcoin in normal conditions).

Second, you don't need to use your MetaMask account, you can create a new account on geth and then transfer your mined coins to your MetaMask or other address.

Third, the gas fees are important because it gives a non-constant cost to the transactions.

You can take more risk by sending a low fee but if you succeed you get them cheap, but you can also send a higher fee and you get them faster with less risk.

Gas Price: 0.0000000002 Ether (0.2 Gwei) Actual Tx Cost/Fee: 0.000008401 Ether ($0.002469)

Hi OP, love the concept! I have a clarification question. Will the minimum required gas for a successful call to Mine() increase as the number of calls to Mine() increase? If not, then will the minimum required gas be determined by the instantaneous largest gas limit set by the current competing Txs? Also, if two wallets invoke Mine() with the same gas limit at the same time, is it possible for both invocations to return true or will only one of them return true? Thank you for advising.

The minimum gas accepted depends on the ethereum network.

Some transactions are processed with as low as 0.1 GWEI of gas, but with the current gas market we recommend 1 GWEI to be safe.

You can check this website here where you can see the current "safe-low" for ethereum transactions: http://ethgasstation.info/

About your question with the two wallets, yes it is possible that both return true, there is no problem with that.

You can check at any point in time the total amount of coins mined for every cycle of 10 minutes by checking the Smart Contract variable CurrentMined.

Access here to locate it:

https://etherscan.io/token/0x03df4c372a29376d2c8df33a1b5f001cd8d68b0e#readContract

You have to divide the value by 100000000 to get the real value, for example 5000000000 / 100000000 = 50.

so i've given this a go using MEW, looking at the time stamp and sending as the time tick's over, but fail on several attempts, so the process is working but i'm not fast enough i guess?
is anyone having any luck with MEW or should i be reviving my Mist wallet and leaving it to run on auto?

gas 21000 above, below 21000 you will get error
so 21 gwei above is the gas price.
how about the gas limit? is it okay to put 100000?
thanks

EDIT: I use 22 gwei now. still fail, what wrong with this, tsk

Use 80 gwei and learn how to read an ETH contract.  Or just buy on Etherdelta.

This is a little bit cofusing and mining it automatically maybe just wasting gas, I think dev can configure it as per mined block number not the time.

While the 0 supply and fixed manual is quite cool, I jsut don't see the value.

It has value because are spending gas on it? Does it have any intrinsic value? Barring our "manual labour" ;)

Fair enough, just asking. They are tied to the hype of whatever tech/company is shilling it, usually offering dividends or PoS or some crap.

So should this take off... to mine one would have to create multiple Eth addresses to create several 'digital mining rigs'? I guess it has to be done automatically, doing this manually is plain weird ;)

Guess I'll download Geth and try a single mining operation for shits and giggles

I see that every 10 minutes a round of token is got by the same address, and some addresses can get more than half of each round. Can you make some restrictions, such as 1 addresses per 10 minutes, up to 2 times?

such as this address:

Well, trying to reach the API in pastebin says:
Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from pastebin.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).

This is what I am telling, this man can just time it every 10 mins himself or just look at the etherescan and then just make his transactions confirmed at the earliets block where 10 mins have happened. In that case, all the coins will be mined by him if he sent 50 transactions. it can be the dev though.

Yes, all of the tokens are monopolized by several addresses, and others cannot get any token.

Why is there a delay? I send the transactions by doing startmining(10) and it takes like 1 minute for 5 transactions to show on etherscan. It doesn't show all 10, then 4 minutes later the other 5 come in. Why??

Title: Re: [ANN] BITCOINEREUM - First Bitcoin Minable ERC20 Token on Ethereum Blockchain

Yeah this won't work.... everytime I use geth to send more than one transaction it takes anywhere from 1 second, to 5 minutes to show up on etherscan, or the blockchain at all. Gas price doesn't matter it takes forever to be sent.

Why is this? Why would geth have such a lag?

0.1 eth is enough to mine, no need to buy bitcoinereums to mine, just gas fee for mining, buying bitcoinereum is a good option as well due to difficulty of mining. i was manually mining a month ago, send 0 eth, 1 gwei, gas limit 42005, about $0.02, more difficult now that there is automatic mining. right now i'm working on automatically mining on geth

No it does not require overbidding other people, it requires good fess but at the same time timing, even you put too high fees, but your timing isnt right, you will just get fucked.

So I am done mining for now cause the transaction fees are too high. Here is my custom script that I wrote which will call the transactions more precisely at the rewardEnd date.
Replace XXXX with your values that you want. Anyways I hope this takes off! To run the script, call waitForRewardEndPrecise()

var rewardEnd = contract.RewardEnd.call();

function mine() {
    web3.eth.sendTransaction({to:'0x03df4c372a29376d2c8df33a1b5f001cd8d68b0e', from: 'XXXX', data: getData, gas: XXXX, gasPrice: web3.toWei(XXXX,'gwei')});
    console.log("sending transaction");
}

function mineXTimes(x) {
    for (var i = 0; i < x; i++) {
        mine();
    }
}

function waitForRewardEndPrecise() {
    rewardEnd = contract.RewardEnd.call();
    while(rewardEnd >= Date.now()/1000) {
      admin.sleep(0.0001);
      waitForRewardEndPrecise()
    }
    mineContinuously(30)
}

function mineContinuously(count) {
    console.log('mineContinuously called');
    mineXTimes(count)
    console.log('Waiting sometime ' + Date() + contract.RewardEnd.call())
    admin.sleep(550);
    console.log('Start waiting precisely! ' + Date())
    waitForRewardEndPrecise()
}

You just destroyed the price and you didn't even get the most important points.

anyway, there's still a competition, man.

tokens per batch are limited, so you need to guess the gas price of other participants tx to overbid them.

anyway, there's still a competition, man.

tokens per batch are limited, so you need to guess the gas price of other participants tx to overbid them.
Gas does matter, but also the timing does, so this code means he can get the timing very precise while competing for other for gas, so he have the edge already on manual miners and slight edge on automatic miners.,

should do airdrop because it is the only way more people know about this token,and its also give more people to hold tokens the more people hold the more prices increases

Github code: https://github.com/minebtcm/minebtcm/

Run github app (Use Metamask Browser): https://minebtcm.github.io/minebtcm/

Also they created a Bitcoinereum Discord chat: https://discord.gg/jUwUQ8

 about your project is very little known, I just came across it today, I think it's an interesting project ... but for myself I think that I should buy on the delta, a very low price.
especially now when due to these cats such delays in the network :D

Interesting coin. Gonna become like Bitcoin or overcome it? Nice start, but I'm gonna watch how the coin is gonna be developed. My idea is that if you keep developing the project, there might be a chance that people start to use your coin as a payment method. But it would take several years to do that.

I had this idea. But i had a question if the miners would be really interested to mine a new coin?

The utility proposition of this deceptive coin is non-existing. This faulty coin is full of empty promises it is going nowhere!. We don't have to live on just trust.

by reading all the posts, i understand that the gas fees is approximately 0.27 cents per coin.  So technically we need to sell the coin for 0.50 or 0.75 cents on the exchange to make profit. But why people will be interested to buy the coin at 0.50 or 0.75 usd when they can mine themselves for a lower price. So, if all people start to mine, where do they sell it?  How a demand can be created?  Please correct me if i am wrong. Without demand in the market how the value will increase for the coin?  Please clarify...

I had the idea of creating a coin like this and then dropped the idea because of the above points.

What is Bitcoinereum?

Bitcoinereum is a Bitcoin like Minable Ethereum ERC20 Token, the first of this kind.

It brings the Bitcoin Supply mechanism into a Smart Contract allowing a bitcoin like currency to run on the ethereum blockchain.

This can happen if your wallet is not fully synced, are you sure the wallet is synced?

Also to check the gas you should use, check the website https://ethgasstation.info/

The SafeLow is the minimum recommended gas in gwei

If you can't figure out what's the problem post here exactly what you are inserting in the console, as well as other relevant info like the balance of your address, what gwei you are using, etc.
