Friends of mine and I went drinking. At some point, I cannot fully recall why (and why this happened on the loo), I was negotiating about one of my friends' soul. But I remember that I was a terrific negotiator and was able to purchase his soul for ridiculously cheap 2€. And there is proof! After returning from the loo, he wrote the devilish contract on a napkin and we took a picture of it:

However, irresponsible me already managed to lose the napkin during that night! Soo sad! Only if there was a tamper-proof method to preserve any contract forever... As it turns out, there is: The glorious, holy Blockchain! A couple of days later this idea was born.


Accordingly, I came up with this new SOUL Ethereum token, also named Soul Napkins (duh!). With it you can sell your soul to total strangers! Go to www.soulnapkins.com (http://www.soulnapkins.com), write a short statement that you want to sell your soul, name your price, send it to the smart token contract, and your soul is up for sale. But beware of the consequences:

If you buy someone's soul, you will also be rewarded with Soul Napkins. You should hurry! The supply is limited and at most 144,000 napkins are distributed. ;D

Selling your soul and buying souls is, of course, not for free. Charon, who helps me with this nifty business, charges you for advertising and soul transfers. Still, to not look to greedy, half of the profits made with this website will be donated to the Giordano Bruno Foundation (https://www.giordano-bruno-stiftung.de/en). The foundation supports evolutionary Humanism and Secularism. The other half of the profits will most likely be spent on (more) drinks, though!

Ah, a platform and place to sell your soul when you don't need it anymore. Can you auction your soul as well on your site? I mean why not, right? If you are going to sell your soul because you do not need it anymore, why not sell it to the highest bidder? So then once your soul is sold, you are forever a slave to your buyer and be forever in servitude. Or there’s more this than just selling soul and another person buying the soul? Is there a contract between buyer and seller?

Well, the Ethereum smart contract does not support auctions (yet). But this is definitely something to think about for the upcoming joint venture of Charon and Sotheby's.  ;D

But yes, there is a contract between the buyer and the seller. You put your soul up for sale on the Ethereum Blockchain with our open source smart contract (https://etherscan.io/address/0x5bf554632a059ae0537a3eeb20aced49348b8f99#code). Once an investor buys your soul, you'll get awarded 90% of the ETH (10% is for Charon, an obol for the transfer), and the investor will be listed as the owner of your soul for all eternity. Aaaaand as a bonus, the investor is rewarded with digital napkins, called SOUL tokens.

I wouldn't go so far to call it creepy. In comparison, for example MCAP (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/mcap/#markets) is a creepy project, I wonder why they are still worth anything... but I digress.

Anyway, you don't have to sell your soul. How about buying someone else's? A spare soul could give you a better bargaining position, once you made it to the other side. I also heard the rumor, that Burger King gives out free washroom vouchers to double and triple soul owners. The last one still has pending confirmation, though.

Regarding your question, every Ethereum address can sell a soul only once. If you try to be sneaky and sell your soul multiple times by creating several addresses, some of Ethereum's hash rate is diverted to struck you with lightning!
Currently we are working day and night on a future proof version that works with PoS CASPER as well....  ;D
