Looked into Bitcoin Gold official website http://btcgpu.rapiddevcrew.com/faq/ (http://btcgpu.rapiddevcrew.com/faq/), and all they say is about people with 1 BTC or more, and noone is saying anything about people with less than 1 BTC.

It should be something like what you said. The owner will distribute it.
Unfortunately, I don't have one. If you have hope, you can hold it. You can double the coin.

Nope, it doesn't say anything of the sort. It just says that if you have 1 BTC, you will get 1 BTG. If you have 0.00000001, you will get 0.00000001 BTG. This is just because at the point of the fork, you have exactly the same amount of coins on either chains. Think of it as a copy, up until the point, before they move on along their own individual chains.

So, don't fret. You have BTC, you will get BTG.

the owner doesn't distribute it, this is not a crappy ETH ICO to distribute. it is a crappy fork from bitcoin. you have to claim it yourself with the private keys of your bitcoin wallet that contain "ANY" amount of bitcoin in them.

although, considering the price and network fees, small amounts wouldn't make any sense to bother claiming them.

ps. do NOT click on any link that is not BTCGPU.org, i have seen a lot of weird websites calling themselves "official" bitcoin gold website but they have been all scams.

Yes, I think it is just the same as Bitcoin Cash. Any amount in bitcoin you have on your wallet during the fork, you'll get the same value in your wallet in Bitcoin Gold. Doesn't really matter if you only have like 10 satoshi in your wallet.

You will get your bitcoin gold based on your bitcoin amount, but you will still get your bitcoin gold even your bitcoin less than a bitcoin in your wallet. Just like bitcoin cash.
It is posibble to get bitcoin gold.

BTG is not an altcoin. Its a clone of bitcoin tried to be created by hard forking. So obviously, you will be getting exactly the amount of bitcoins you have in your wallet, even it is in satoshis.

But till now,no exchanges or wallets have announced that they would support BTG.Also, there is no miner support for BTG and it has to be mined only with GPU.So,we don't know exactly that how many days that it could survive.

But there is a huge curiosity among bitcoin holders that they may get some free BTG coins due to free air drops.

Thanks for this reminder, maybe anyone with bad intentions making such claim and fooling others for depositing they’re bitcoin on they’re scam sites and it’s really annoying sometimes. Hope no one will take the bait and do unnecessary things other than to the legitimate bitcoin gold site.

I don’t have much of bitcoin so, thinking about bitcoinGold much is not my interest but to spread scammy attempts must be our responsibility.

Yes, a chain split means that whatever you have on one chain (bitcoin) will be replicated on the other chain (bitcoin gold). At the time of the fork, both chains will be identical, it's only at and after the fork that they will diverge.

No Miner support
Not much of support by exchanges either
These two reasons are more than enough to know that BTG will just be a disaster. One thing is for sure is that there will be no buyers for BTG.
There will be a lot of people selling it and very less buyers which mean that its price is going to drop drastically.  In such case, the late sellers are going to get almost nothing out of their free coins.

Yes that is true but it will not worth anything for sure. I don't understand people selling altcoins for even less than 1 btc. 1 btc gold will not worth huge money.

yeah, I have the same opinion, that bitcoin gold will be obtained regardless of the amount of bitcoin owned. but it depends on the wallet where the bitcoin is stored, it does not have to have a private key, wallet exchanger can, as long as the exchanger is ready to fork I think. but this just personal opinion

Yes anyone with few satoshi can also get bitcoin gold after hard fork just like how they got bitcoincash on last august's hard fork.
But moving bitcoin gold or whatever forked coin you will get might require few additional amount to cover fees.  ;D

You will get bitcoin regardless of the amount you have.

What you have to worry about is where you keep it. The best way to ensure you get this "free money" is to keep it in a wallet where you have access to the private key. As long as you have this private key, you will be able to access your bitcoin gold in the future.

A lot of people here are saying yes. Perhaps it is exactly the same with the case of Bitcoin Cash. But you need to be careful because not all wallets and exchange platforms are committing to give the same amount of bitcoin gold to your existing bitcoin. I heard Kraken will be giving away the same amount of bitcoin gold with your bitcoin.

Technically it will simply be copying the Bitcoin chain. With the copying of all balance information, wallets and private keys.

In my opinion what will happen is the same in bitcoin cash. you will get the same amount of coin. The reason why some wallet platforms agrees with the fork is because they doesnt share the bitcoin cash or bitcoin gold so make sure to transfer your btc to a wallet with a private key for you to get your free money.

Yes , ofcourse every amount holding guys will get the same amount of bitcoin gold that he has in amount of bitcoin .
Here you can see this thing with the example of the bitcoin cash where everyone got the bitcoin cash who has Thier bitcoin in the adresse containing private key ( in the wallet owner ) . So don't get any tension and be ready to get bitcoin gold .
But here my suggestion for you to get your bitcoin gold simply is to put your bitcoin at the yobit exchange , I know yobit is not a official place by the bitcoin team to put bitcoin but still I would like to recommend you to put thier Because you can see in the past that people got bitcoin cash without any much tension directly and easily to do nothing but at another platform people needed to wait long term and few of them didn't gave yet any amount of bitcoin cash .

You technically should be getting and you also claim that you have the private key to your wallet, shouldn't be much of an issue. You will be getting bitcoin gold after the hardfork this month. Don't confuse yourself very much, you will get into a mental dilemma. Be happy and enjoy your free money you will be getting.

What does the expert say?

Exodus wallet is a decentralised wallet and it gives you access to your private keys. However, in the last fork and with the help of shapeshift, they were able to let users get their BCC without having to use the private key, knowing most people or newbies may end up messing up and loosing all their assets in the process which made it for everyone to have their BCC in their BCC wallet without stress. If your funds are in exodus wallet, then you are on the right track whichever way.

since blockchain.info does not control your private keys, they can not give you your BTG, you need to claim it yourself. there is a recovery phrase in blockchain.info which is like your seed, you can use that to get your private keys. (not sure about the details since i don't use it but it is possible).

BTG is not exactly a scam but not exactly a good for either. it is forking from bitcoin which makes it already bad since it is not from scratch. and also it has a premine which makes it even worse.

What's the price of BTC gold? if the prices is similar to BCH, it will be much cash I will earn from this airdrop. Actually, I like to get the free money not support BTC gold. Yes you will get bitcoin gold for the amount you are having bitcoins in your wallets..That may be 1satoshi or 1btc, you will get the same for that. But you will not get bitcoin gold in any exchange wallet. keep this thing in mind. If you habe some bitcoin amount in exchange wallets then withdraw it to your other wallets.you will get the same amount as you will be having of bitcoins.

it depends on the exchange wallet you are using, there are some exchanger that supports the bitcoin gold but some of them got backout maybe because of the segwit2x issue and the sanction imposed by the bitcoin foundation, much better ask from support group on the exchange platform where your btc wallet was stored for clarifications.

Premain
As of October 19th, BTG (github.com/BTCGPU) includes 8,000 Blocks of Premain (mining monopoly in closed environment). Because premain is not fair distribution, minor can monopolize profits, so its importance is often debated.
Equihash PoW code is not completed
BTG is a virtual currency that proclaims that it can be mined with CPU / GPU, but as of October 19, transition to Equihash PoW has not been completed. We are planning to carry out unit tests and regression tests from now on, but there is no time left until the scheduled date.
Replay attack protection is not done
On September 29, replay attack protection by SIGHASH_FORKID used in Bitcoin Cash has been proposed, but as of October 19, introduction consideration has not been done. When doing a hard fork on the premise of branching, replay attack protection must be explicitly done. If replay attack protection is not done, using a branched coin may unexpectedly send the other coin at the same time and lose assets.
Possibility of rescheduling
Initially, BTG planned an ICO planning to conduct a premain of 16,000 blocks (200,000 BTG) on August 31 and sell it at a price of 10 BTG = 1 BTC, but we are reviewing the plan.

Bitcoin Gold coin as a free gift will be received by everyone who, on October 25, that is, on the day of the fork, will have in his wallet any amount in bitcoins. And the new coin will be exactly as much as there is bitcoin. So it remains to wait for this next fork of bitcoin.

You will receive Bitcoin Gold even if you have 1 satoshi BTC. :D

Yes that is true but it will not worth anything for sure. I don't understand people selling altcoins for even less than 1 btc. 1 btc gold will not worth huge money.
It depends on the amount that you have that is considered less than 1 BTC, it does not necessarily have to be 1 satoshi, and moreover it is free money and even if it is not as worth as BTC, it is going to be something. So saying it won't be worth anything is not just right. Remember 1 BCC was worth something and at the moment worth $328. That is something for someone who got it free.

It is free money indeed but you need to realize that for some big holders who still have a lot of btc in cold storage  it's not worth the 10% gain. I've seen people lose their bitcoin, bitcoin they were holding since 2013, because they used an unsafe wallet to claim their bitcoin cash. This is not worth it at all if you think about it.

What if you store your btc in an Exodus wallet. If you get also goldies for free? Since I have read nothing
What does the expert say?
Just transfer your BTC to a desktop wallet like Electrum if you are really worried. You basically get BTG as long as you hold the private key to your wallet.

As long as you have your coin in a wallet that gives you control of your private keys or a wallet that promises to give you the other side of the forked chain, and you have at least 1 satoshi before the fork, then yes, you will receive the equivalent of BCG.

The fork is a clone of the original blockchain and you will receive the same amount of coins in you BTG wallet.

It's in the ratio of 1:1

So for every 0.0001btc of btc. You get  0.0001btg
