I think $20,000 is impossible, or at least in 2 years. Maybe in 5 years yes.

That's too ambitious IMO. Going off %age growth this year it's sure feasible, but I just can't see it growing that much in a year - it's too much in terms of FIAT volume and would need some massive global investment/news to increase that much in such a short space of time.

No i dont think so in this short span of time may be in future like more than 5 years it will definitely reach as the whole world is trending toward bitcoins and it will emerge as world economy.

Well,  why not believe  it?  Bitcoin is very  volatile  and unpredictable that's  why for me it is possie that in the next 2 years bitcoin will hit $10,00. Japan now is doing some legality if bitcoin exchange and this is a good sign that more countries will also do the same. With this, more people will trust and invest in  bitcoin. So the higher the demand,  what will to the price then? :)

what OP puts in his post is a clear advertisement by a bag holder of altcoins and thinks people are too dumb enough not to figure it out.
many are like it though, they think if they hold some shitcoins like Dash and ETH and XRP they will become rich just because bitcoin price is rising they should follow! but the reality, or the ugly truth is that most of these altcons won't even exist in 2 years let alone be worth that much.

Well on my point of view $20000 for bitcoin in two years is not impossible. Last year they said $5000 was impossible for the coin. But it was reached and it was almost on $6000. The basis that he used was correct specially Bitcoin has a definite number of coin that will be circulated no way have more of it. When the demand increase price will go up. And when businesses that supports it increase demand will go up same as the price. This is for the MAIN coin.

For the ALT coins that I don't know.

Since bitcoin surpassed $5000 in less than a year, bitcoin trade volumes are growing up and volatility is decreaing.

It is possible. In fact we are close to 10,000 usd per bitcoin. Once reached don't wonder know if we can't reach that 20,000 within 2 years. If it is impossible for you, it is possible for me. Believe and HODL.

Nothing is imposible with bitcoin it could reach $10000 in few weeks or months no one can predicts whats gonna happen because its unpredictable but seeing how successful bitcoin today I think the future for bitcoin is very good and amazing.

Yes, this prediction is a little on the high side. I would be pleasantly surprised if we reached 20k that soon but I suppose it is theoretically possible based in this year's upward trend. It just seems unlikely that such a fast upward trend would continue for two more years without leveling off some, at least in percentage terms.

Its absolutely possible, only condition is that there must not be any big problems against bitcoin such as some government intervention and bans. Apart from these bitcoin is growing strong.

I believe the value will explode in a couple of years. What do you think all the potential investors with real serious cash are going to do, once Bitcoin reaches $10.000? Sooner or later, we'll see an influx of the big guys, wall street gets onboard, banks, state money, etc. We're still experiencing the startup period, the increase in value we're witnessing now is just a glimpse of what's to come.

That is a great computation, and a good possibility to get that increase in less than 2 years.


And with more and more speculation and predictions being released about bitcoins price in the next years. More and more people would consider investing on it that would result on getting a higher demand and faster increase on prices.

If those prices become true I think we'll all be pretty happy. Some of them seem particularly bold though, especially on the altcoins.

i don't see why bitcoin could not reach that amount, who could said some years ago that bitcoin could reach 5k$ this year?, obviously 20k sounds a lot, but if things goes "fine" with all those "new things" like LN etc etc, why not?.

Good words. I personally doubt Bitcoin will reach $ 20,000 in 2 years .. but we know that Bitcoin ever reach the number 10 times in a matter of a few months or approximately 1 year. Let's see in the future what will happen to Bitcoin sometime in the future. Bitcoin may indeed reach that number, but it may take more than 2 years. This is just my opinion.

for example a coin without a cap and with a huge supply can never rise up to be expensive. you can see how much Ripple is worth after all these years. ethereum is no different than ripple in that regard with its no cap supply.

it is a very simple supply and demand law. it may sound dumb to you at first but it real and works in the long term.

The market is good.. at least for now. If it grows the way it is , we could see $20,000 levels by 2020. Though, for that to happen though the same market conditions need to continue which might be the hurdle. There are many factors that will influence it in the future. The forces that be will not let that happen. OR they will join the bandwagan whereby monopolise it for their gains. Government intervention, acceptance and bans are another factor that will be influential.
This prediction, however, is just a advertisement for altcoins. Those levels for altcoins will not be achieved.

Well bitcoin price fluctuates daily and many users adopts into bitcoin. So this means bitcoin demand is increasing and I am confident it will reach maybe after 2years. Who knows, because actually its hard to predict the actual value.

IMO, Bitcoin to be $20,000 in year 2020 is possible. If BTC can rise almost 400% in 1 year from 2016 to 2017. I don’t see why it can’t rise another 300% in 2 years.

$20,000 is possible but not in 2 years. It can possibly happen after 5-10 years, or maybe later than that.

Let's check out btc history.
2 years ago bitcoin had price about $250.
A year ago it was around $700 and now is $ 5700.
Based on this growth, especially last year, it is possible that bitcoin reaches $ 20,000 and much more.
But, it's very difficult to predict such things.
Many things can happen, like some negative news again from China or Morgan, and price can fall again, you never know.
In the long term, I believe that price will continue to grow.

It is very possible, adoption is key however. The more people that buy into bitcoin, the higher the price. Market forces are in play here and logic suggests that the current run will continue as more people see the need for a decentralized currency.

I was really bit amazed on listing ETH to be on $15,000. Hahaha. I do agree on the thing you did actually said on here most of those coins listed wont still be sure if it would exist on 2 years time,how much more on next 5 years? most of them are sure dead. $20k on bitcoin is too much thinking off that we did already struggling on reaching out $5k in 8 years time how much more on $20k?

I think we won't see that price in just two years, but it's definitely an achievable price for the future, specially if we consider the halve in 2020. I think that by that time, we will see the price at least at $10k. Of course regulations will have a major impact on the price in my opinion, and some improvements to the network. If governments start accepting bitcoin as a commodity, and the network start supporting more transactions (maybe with the implementation of the LN), the price will skyrocket.

There no impossible when it comes with bitcoin we have still 2-5 years and see the big different of the price by the year pass since there are many users of bitcoin and by year pass their will be dead accounts that will haven't use anymore if they will give it to there kids maybe the new generation will continue what the legacy been started.

Probably man, you never know what can happen and when it will happen, keep every possibility in mind for it's worth it and you will get to experience it only when it becomes a reality. Still have high hopes on bitcoin ;D and in 2 years a lot of stuff is going to happen and you definitely gonna see some drama happening.

It's not too outrageous. We've grown more percentage in a year than 400%. It's too far off to make accurate predictions though, and given how largely Bitcoin can be affected by real world events, we might end up with far more or far less.

No. 20k$ in two years is way too optimistic. And 15k$ for Ethereum is straight impossible. As there is a saying in those parts ow the world: paper (in this case internet) can withstand anything.

I don't see why not. I'm not sure if we'll see that increase in two years but I think its possible to reach that when bitcoin is a lot more limited.

I think nothing is impossible if bitcoin prices can reach $ 20,000 in 2 years and if many investors support or encourage increased bitcoin, there may be a bitcoin price explosion achieved, but no one can predict an explosion will happen within the next 2 years. Because it is easier to grow from lower price to i.e boost bitcoin's price from $1000 to $3000 than achieve the same percentage growth with higher numbers.
I can't imagine ATM that we will have BTC worth $30k in next 3 years. I am not saying it is impossible. I am saying it will be much harder to accomplish.
That is a reason I see all kinds of promises and predictions that BTC will reach $100k, before 2020 as pure Sci-Fi at this point.

Honestly I can't say any word right now because someone said some months ago that Bitcoin will reach 5000$ by the end of 2017 and here the stakes are. So I believe everything is possible with Bitcoin and in addition to this Bitcoin also has the market demand and supplies theory which is the main reason of price increase.

So I got a very strong argument in favor of the prospect of rising prices for Bitcoin in the next six months, And maybe even here. Therefore, I would not be surprised that the forecasts for 20,000 dollars for 2 years can come true. If in almost half a year Bitcoin has risen almost 5 times.

Never underestimate the power of cryptocurrency. Internet today is powerful. Central banks/government banks around the world will adopt blockchain in that year 2020 is halving time for bitcoin and to think it will be the golden era age so i will agree on that prediction

Since we have a difference of near 6x in coin supply it would mean ether will get more than 6 times "investments" than bitcoin is going to.

Almost everyone here is happy with these predictions, we just can hope and hold. theoretically, Bitcoin will reach much higher value with the growing demand and less coins being mined, so $20,000 will not be strange or unexpected value after few years.

I think it is too farfetched to say that bitcoin will reach the 20k $  mark for the span of 2 years but we can't set aside that possibility.  Due to continuous fluctuation of bitcoins, I think it will be difficult for bitcoin to reach even 10k this year and though if the price increases more than decreases.

One method to achieve this is to write articles convincing people bitcoin's price will reach "$20,000 in 2 years". Some will believe you prediction & they will buy btc. This increase in demand, theoretically could cause the price of btc to rise.

This cycle of extremely optimistic predictions made by those holding assets done under the motive of generating profits on increasing value has riddled the gold and silver markets for decades. Its not as obvious in crypto as btc's price has been increasing more than most predicted.

There are predictions made in finance and economics which are done with a person self interests in mind. Predictions tend to be more reliable when there's a disclaimer that says the person making the prediction isn't invested in the thing they're making predictions on / promoting.

Ya I agree those predictions are mostly bias based, of course I hope my investment profits. That's why rather than commenting on the prediction or going against the opposites, I would rather go with the flow, adjusting my portfolio within more realistic timeline. 

The news regarding a public reasoning of why BTC could went up $15000 is just glorifies BTC and his words doesn't sound very technical as well. No valuable info is found but it's true that BTC got a lot for attention lately  :)

The forecast that in two years the bitcoin rate can be about 20,000 dollars, in my opinion is too optimistic. We must also take into account its greater volatility, the crypto currency reacts to all the bad news, as we could see in a recent example with China. Therefore, the growth rate of bitcoin can not be straight up. In any case, it will be like waves, with ups and downs. Bitcoin for the next two years will rise significantly in price, but until this forecast, in my opinion, will not last.

The thing is we will not get to $20,000 on this peak. That is for sure. The price is going to crash soon. I don't know when, but it will definitely be before $20,000... lol. And after the crash, it might take years for the price to recover even back to $5,000+. So I would not be so fast to say that in 2 years we will be at $20,000. I would say in 5 years we will be there most certainly though.

Yes it can be within next 2 years. Now price of bitcoin is increasing rapidly. It can hit any amount future. For bitcoin, 20000 is not impossible amount. It can be down for some reason but the progress of Bitcoin will rise up and hope it will reach expected price within next 2 years.

It's ambitious but IMO it's not impossible. WE have already seen some strange things in crypto and some event can happen in two years that will make bitcoin mainstream for example the inclusion in amazon and other big corporations. Its gonna be hard  to reach that value, but it's not impossible.

I think this is a bit too ambitious for some of the altcoins but definitely not bitcoin. Up 900% since last year so why not another 350% in 2 years? I think $20,000 just scares people away or it seems too daunting to them.

All the predictions around Bitcoin have not been accurate. So, why should the $20,000 prediction be any different. This year, Bitcoin ATH was put at $2500. But what do we have already? $5,000, right? That's right. Bitcoin has proved that no one knows where it is headed. I am not even sure Satoshi knew Bitcoin had this great potential when he created it. I believe Bitcoin could out perform the $20,000 prediction within the timeframe set for it.

Predictions for the future. Whenever people tell you it will be $10,000 or $20,000 it's always people who already bought and hope new money flows in so they can more profit, me too. But up untill now bitcoin has always been a great investment.

$20K by December 2018.  It's doubled in value 3 times in ONE year.  If it did it again, it would actually be $40K in just one year from now.  One can dream  :D

bitcoin price is rising rapidly thanks to the brave success investors, the price can rise to 20000 is possible, but we can not forecast exactly the price will reach 20000 in just 2 years because that is too much.

It may be hard to imagine right now, but it is very possible. When Bitcoin was around $5, who would have imagined and risked predicting that bitcoin's price will become $100?  And when it reached $100, it was almost impossible to imagine that it will reach $1000. And now we are already $5,000 right now. If we reach $10,000 this year, we can be standing at the top with $20,000 in a couple of years.

January 2015 = 270$ per Bitcoin,  before the end of the year Bitcoin Average price: 430$ (202% increment on Bitcoin Value)

January 2016 = 430$ per Bitcoin, before the end of the year  Bitcoin Average price: 950$   (206% increment on Bitcoin Value)

January 2017 = 950$ per Bitcoin,  just this month of October, Bitcoin  Average price: 5630$ (502% increment on Bitcoin Value)

to reach 20K$ per Bitcoin, only 350% increment are required.

It is possible. Day by day bitcoin get known by people. So in 2 years people 10 times more will start to invest bitcoin. Some people think that it is late to buy bitcoin. I totally disagree.

That looks like a fairly reasonable estimate as long as there is no serious forking concerns or splits from the main chain. Interruption could occur but in general the investments and large funds might be looking into building a position in the next 2 years and if mutual funds and other groups invest in the ecosystem it would naturally only be a matter of time for that price to be achieved.

2020 is near i think it will take more time before bitcoin can get through with that price, we must know that bitcoin have a hard time breaching the $6000 mark for 2017, then let's say it can breach $6000  early 2018, $7K end of 2018, $8K early 2019, $9K end of 2019 and $10K at 2020.
Stable price must stay between $6000 for the next year before we can speculate that it can spike to $20000

Yes obviously , this may be definately be true . As more and more users are getting registered each day, and the influence of bitcoin is rising day by day (not that much ) but in upcoming years may be till 2028 i think , it may reach 15 , 20 thousand dollars as bitcoin price are never the same compared to the previous day . Chances are very low, but not impossible. Based on last few years changes, specially the last  year, sounds reasonable but still with very less chances.  Quite ambitious and should not be surprised with such sudden changes. Though I am expecting to see  $6000+ within/before the end of the year.

By just looking at how much the bitcoin price has changed from last April $1,500 up to date $5000 is remarkably high but however, possible fall of the bitcoin price will also occur in the coming 2018.

Did you really see that picture of prices? I don't think that it's true and can really happen. At least altcoins won't be five figure equal and what gives them such ability to grow. I mean 20k is a lot looking at the growth speed currently. It could be around 10-12K really but that too hardly will happen. Bitcoin don't work like that, if it reached 6K from 2K in a year then it doesn't mean it will reach 20k just like that. What about the forks, developments, investors and the market cap. There are so many things that needs to be working in a proper direction.

I think you will see the price in the near future for 1 year ahead, but I do not want to look like a know-it-all, I just analyze bitcoin price a few years, hopefully my analysis is not wrong for the first time :)

Don't even need to look at bitcoin because it's so expensive to buy at this point. I could just buy 100-150 ether in one bitcoin and still have chance to be billionaire after two years if that's true. Don't believe it really.

everything is possible as we don't know what will happen in future and every of us can said that bitcoin will be at more than $15k or $20k. but what we need to realize is we should follow of what is happen in the market so we can match our prediction with the real conditions so we don't have to shock when finally the price is increase too high. some of us is amaze with bitcoin price now and the truth is bitcoin is in the top position this year and maybe it will increase more than now. we still have many time to see bitcoin is increase and we can wait to see the price is rising up later.

These predictions seems to be realistic, because the growth achieved from the starting of the year till now is something very big. ETH prediction caught my attention. WTF $15,000 in two years? There no way that it can reach that high. Though I can see that bitcoin can possibly touch that price though. Bitcoin now is at $6100, Maybe 2018 we can touch $10,000. So its possible we can touch or even breach that price prediction. And I'm pretty sure that the one who make this prediction is a bag holder of that coins, specially those altcoins whose price seems to be unrealistic. Although in 2-3 years, there's still a lot that is going happened, but I seriously doubt that those altcoins will gain enough traction to pushed their price today to that prediction in the future. I dont know why you people are laughing on 20000$ in 2 years. If my prediction is true it will acheive that mark in just 1 year that is by november 2018.

At this stage, any speculation is possible most especially with the surprise bitcoin has displayed this year alone. Therefore, the possibility of $20,000 in 2 years cannot be discarded. There will absolutely be so many development for bitcoin in upcoming years which includes some massive adoption than what we have had so far this year. I am very optimistic!

He predict his economic analysis. He has positive thinking. That's good news but 2 years? I can't imagine for 2 years it became $20,000 per 1 btc. I was thinking 3 to 5 years bitcoin can raise the value like that. But who know 2 years can go up $20,000, we are all happy for that.

It is not even required for you to predict the value of bitcoins because obiviously the price is really increasing since there is so many miners today and everyone is investing into bitcoins so in the next years to come maybe the value of bitcoins will be doubled.

Why would I believe it? What would have changed about the protocol to justify a roughly 3x increase in value in less than two years? And how safe would it be to purchase into an asset like that, not knowing exactly when it would correct? The volatility is too much already. The uncertainty a speculative run of that nature would produce would make people think we were a scam, a hype, a fad. And I would have to agree. If we want this thing to last, we want everything to be slow and steady people. SHit like this (wild price growth) is the reason (among others) that the powers that be have rejected bitcoin so far.

Each people have their own thinking and prediction. There are a lot of predictions out there, Bitcoin can reach to 10k$ in next 6 months or 20k$ in next 2 years,....But in my opinion I think Bitcoin just need about 1 year to reach to 20k$ and this guy will have to change his mind :)). As you can see at the early of this year people just thought that Bitcoin only can get to 3000$ at the end of this year but now is October and Bitcoin price is more than 6k$ so I think at the end of this year Bitcoin price will be more than 10k$ and reach to 20k$ at the end of next year or maybe earlier I hope so :D

We cannot predict what would happen to bitcoin price in two years time.  So his basis for saying that is not true as we would like to believe and can be true as he predicts.  No one can predict its price since bitcoin price moves under different circumstances that us humans cannot control.  But who do not want that price?  If that would be the case, I will now start to save and keep more bitcoins than ever because I could be a millionaire after two years.

To be honest, it isn't that far fetched. The price is already 6k. People will see it's potential which leads to more demand, and even huger jumps. 6k to 20k will be over quickly, perhaps even in a year if it continues this way.

Yeah, but such predictions become reality, also the alt coin market will see astronomical gains. So if I am entering the market with the attitude you described, I will likely invest in the very small coins with much upside potential - people will try to repeat the gains of those pioneers. I want to believe. I've catch crypto twice - first, in 2009 next 2017. In 2009 when bitcoin was just like a joke i nevermind it. In 2017 when it became rel strong I'v bought it and now i want to believe.

I ran some numbers in a recent blog post about this, if we assume that the top 4 countries/regions in terms of exchange volume (US, Europe, Japan, South Korea). It would take 50% of the population to invest 1% of their annual income into Bitcoin to reach a price of $23,275.

So 50 of the population is probably a high expectation but 1% of income I can only assume is slightly below the average in terms of BTC investment, at least for most of us on here. Institutional money will make a massive difference, but if that money comes in the form of an ETF then things are a little less clear exactly how or to what extent that would affect the underlying BTC price. Especially when we're talking about ~$15k gain in price, the market cap would pretty much need to double.

I agree that many here are underestimating how how high these coins can go. BTC at $20,000 by 2020 seems like a conservative estimate given the growth of cryptocurrencies as a whole. I also don't think ETH in the four digits is out of the question. I remember when people said ETH at $80 was overpriced.

$20,000 seems to me a realistic goal, and maybe even a little conservative. That would only mean the current price x3. I believe that bitcoin has the potential to reach a price of $100,000 in three years, so in a couple of years I would expect a bitcoin at $25,000 or $30,000 each.

with his prediction i will say that he is underestimating the bitcoin currency. over a couple of days it has crossed $6000. it took less than a yr to add $5000 to the price of bitcoin then 2 years is too far for the price to get to $20000. it will be higher than that.

Many people are expecting to cross the $20k by 2020 with the market cap of about $180-200 Billion. After seeing the growth of BTC in last few year, a lot of people now started believing it and want to invest in it. As the supply is limited and can't be increased so if demand rises vigorously, Price will definitely be going to shoot up like anything.

In 2 years the price can be much higher than 20k, just this year it has grown 4 fold...

In my opinion these predictions are well possible if we have a slow growth. We can't say what the future brings and we didn't have something like cryptos yet.....

Maybe they'll all fail because of bugs what's very unlikely imo. But if they fail, they'll be more or less worthless. I don't think that any entity be it banks, investors, governments or whatever can seriously harm them on purpose. So if the community can solve the technical problems (and I trust those guys...) cryptos won't fail imo.

Bitcoin is a new kind of a currency and it's a great one imo with many big advantages over others, I don't go into details here. It's still some "hassle" for a newb to get bitcoins or other cryptos and few stores accept cryptos yet. It's changing slowly and cryptos are more something to invest into atm. BUT things could change rapidly now that more and more ppl are aware of cryptos and the fact that they work well.

History has shown many inflations and often times people in countries with high inflation used foreign currencies because they didn't lose their value too fast. Now that cryptos are available and most of the people walk around with a quad-core-computer (smart phone) in their pockets, why shouldn't merchants in such a country prefer the "easy" to get cryptos? if that happens in just one country the so called market cap of something around 100bln $ that bitcoin currently has is just nothing in comparison.

So x10, x100 or even more are possible in the near future imo. But we could also see x0.0001.. I for myself doubt that and think btc will be worth more than 20k USD in 2 years maybe even more than 100k, it'll maybe take more than 2 years but I'll hodl some, alts as well.

It was really such a great amount if bitcoin price rate do reached that price mark on the market. Though it was really ambitious to think about since it was just starting for bitcoin to rise its price, we just still need to wait a little longer for it to be able to be applied. I think it is not really impossible for bitcoin to hit that price but a span of 2 years might be a short time for it to take an effect. I think the probability for this to happen is small. Indeed, its msrket value is continuously rising but with that short length or period of time, it is somewhat impossible knowing that Bitcoin is volatile, which means its value in the market changes each in everytime. There is agreat possibility that it could indeed happen.  Bitcoin has dramatically increased in value from last year to now which is more than 9 times.  And when you look at the total market cap it is still very few as compared to the world dollar usage therefore there is still a lot of people who doesnt use bitcoin.  And i believe when this people will come and join bitcoin then there will surely be a huge surge in prices in the coming years.

Since there are magazines like Forbes that are taking notice of the importance of Bitcoin itself in relation to blockchain, anything is possible. There's a good article on there that is short and sweet.

The more you convince the big cigars that this is a legitimate investment vehicle, the more the demand will grow.
The banks/payment companies make a lot of money off of the transactions themselves. People are sick of paying $2-5 USD to use Bank X's ATM when they need some quick cash. I'm sick of my own bank charging me fees to move money from my checking to my savings after I exceed their allowed transactions in a certain amount of time, or get a cashier's check, and they charge more to wire money. Everyone is sick of it and the more people become aware through the MSM, the sooner they will start researching.

You have people like Woz from Apple starting to talk about Bitcoin....Apple has such a huge cult-like fanbase...that some savvy people who are simply "Apple fans" may start looking into crypto.
You have people like Forbes writing about it, you have Bill Gates talking crypto...and that's just in the US.

You have giants like China/Russia/all waking up to this and you'd think India would.

Maybe these financial institutions have smart people working for them and can blunt some of the growth, but look at the world of hackers/torrent and such and how they manage to keep on going despite what the governments try to do.

Look at the pot industry in the US...banks won't take the money directly, so people in that industry take to investing until the banks and governments get on board.

In fact I wouldn't be surprised even if the exchange rate hits the $20K mark within the next 12 months (i.e by the end of 2018). Just note this. Right now we have around 10 million users. What will happen if this number increases to 100 million?

It's really no longer much of a stretch going on the performance this year. It gained $1000 in a ridiculously short period of time. There'll be plenty of bumps in the meantime but it is achievable.

I strongly agree with you. At least for now, I don't think bitcoin will reach $20,000 in 2 years. Why? Let's do the math: If bitcoin's price by the end of the year will end up at $5,000, then we should assume that in 2 years, it will have a +300% (+$15,000) in its price. Also, two years equals 24 months, and when we divide 300% by 24, we will get 12.5%. That means that starting January of 2018, bitcoin should have at least an increase of 12.5% ($625) from its starting value in 2018.

As per record, bitcoin has a starting value in 2013 at $140.00 and ended the year at $750.00 (+435%). In 2014, it started at $770.00 and ended the year at $310.00 (-60%). In 2015, it started at $315 and ended the year at $420.00 (+33%). In 2016, it started at $430.00 and ended the year at $950.00 (+121%). And this year, it started at $970.00 and will probably end at $5000.00 (+415%). This only shows that bitcoin is too volatile to predict its future value.

If we take the monthly basis, a $625 increase in its value every month seems to be very unlikely to happen considering that there's a lot of tokens and altcoins now that might affect the volatility of bitcoin. The percentages of yearly increase  and decrease in its value doesn't also make any sense now since the value of bitcoin now is very high, and people won't just invest in bitcoin alone now, unlike in the past years where there are still few altcoins.

For me it is possible because our world is full of possibilities. The bitcoin reached $6000 per each in this year, so I can say that it is possible that the bitcoin will become $20000 per each in the next 5 years.

I cannot exactly agree to this picture but i hope this predictions will happen in the future. The current speculations of the most traders that i read in this forum is, Bitcoins will reach $10k in 2018 then probably it will reach $20k in the future because it was really growing consistently.

 Since the day of bitcoin origin,  bitcoin is shocking everyone with the price hike. Now bitcoin is already crossed $6000,  but saying that in a time span of two years bitcoin will cross the $20000,  is a way bit too much expectations.  I think it may cross $10,000. But this big predictions is way too much.  But never predict anything in case of bitcoins.  Bitcoins value fluctuates in the last few years very rapidly. Too ambitious. But we can't really tell. Maybe by this time, at least 1 of 2 people knows about bitcoins and 1 of 4 is invested on bitcoins. We'be come a long way from bitcoins costing cents to thousands of dollars. But I think it is achievable, the chances ate a bit low for me. If they make sound improvements with bitcoins then I guess the ptobability of the price hitting $20000 is high.

In terms of percent growth and potential of new blood coming into Bitcoin I believe that's a low estimate for where Bitcoin will be at two years from now. I think $28,000 is a better guess. We also approach the block reward halving in about 2.5 years - so that's something huge to consider as well.

With this increasing trend, it might cross 20K. You never know...

Absolutely Possible. There is so much momentum behind this that I think it will reach 25K sooner than we think. Just check on Google. Bitcoin searches are up massively so more and more people are getting into bitcoin.

Some of the ICO's are probably also a good opportunity to get some good returns fast. Came across Propthereum ICO and like what they are doing. For Bitcoin, keep investing and you will see $25K sooner than later.

This prediction doesn't make any real sense. Nobody knows when and how much bitcoin will cost. Yes, market makers can manipulate the price when they have some control on it. But when the real market will come to buy or sell it. When you will here that your grandmother or your mechanic will want to buy bitcoin or sell it nobody can manipulate here. Market will be forced by the greed and fear.  Smart money can just pull the prce up and low but not the accurate numbers. That's my opininon.

Its not impossible if bitcoin will reach 20k us dollars after 2years as you can see in the demand many people day by day are having an interest in bitcoin. The demand is very high while the supply lasts.

Well there is no boundaries for that mate, and I must agree with you because the value of bitcoin still shows promising results and demand always rises. The people who believed in bitcoin is becoming bigger in numbers, and I think its unstoppable right now. 20000 usd within the next 2 years, seems to be possible if we just look at what had happened this year, bitcoin enterig the year with around 1000 usd as its value and then it might finish around 9k or 10k, considering its volatility and the trust of more and more people to be increasing, since history repeats itself bitcoin can breach 20000 usd in the next 2 years, even though there are FUDs and a lot of bashers, bitcoin seems to remain to be the dominant currency, and it is showing by the increase of its value and users.

No way, Ethereum is having so many problems scaling tat I don't see it making it into the $5 figure territory ever, because the thing just collapses when people want to buy crowded ICOs. Im sure we are going to see it hit $1000 (well not sure, but likely) and after that there will be a selloff, which will get worse due some technical problems arising. I wouldn't count my money on Ethereum or any alt whatsoever, im %100 on Bitcoin at this point.

If this guy predicted that it is going to be 20K usd in 5 years, what about John Mcafee who said that it is going to be 500K USD in the next 3 years, since bitcoin is now public.

The market is volatile so it is unpredictable but yes it is possible for bitcoins to reach $20k next year if there is really so much interest in bitcoins and i think that you should start investing as fast as possible because the value of bitcoins is increasing very fast today.

With the way bitcoin price is going it is possible for bitcoin price to increase to $20,000 in 2 years.  Ethereum price will go high because the more ICOs using ethereum smart contract the higher ethereum price but getting to that rate is what I am not sure.

I think the author of that predication was underestimating Bitcoin capabilities. What I am seeing, Bitcoin will hit 20,000$ by next year, and by year 2020, it will reach half or more than a million dollar each.

In my own opinion about this prediction is, there is no doubt that it may happen since the company and management of bitcoin execute excellent performance in the public market which leads them to pull the value going up. Bitcoin seems unstoppable. 20k in two years time is quite low. The way it has been rising for the past three months, I think It is on its way to 30K in two years time. Occasional correction would occur, but it would not affect its growth.

I was not even expecting stability at $6K to $8K range but since institutional investors have joined the pool and started pouring their funds, the things changed rapidly and now it has reached the milestone of half of the amount predicted in OPs link so from this point, it is not difficult for Bitcoin to climb 100% in two years and I believe that it will hit that milestone much before than 2 years to be honest.

Aww 20k seems abit on the low side but definitely achievable. There are even speculators who predict that bitcoin would even rise to 100k next year! So all in all with the stable and fast bitcoin rise currently, achieving 20k by next year is definite.

Well, we don't know that yet because bitcoin has a full of surprise. Remember the time that we conclude that bitcoin will only have a 3-4k dollars before this yearn end but look at now it is almost 16k dollars. In my own judgement, I think there is a big chance that it will happen in 2 years from now or even it may happen in just few months or almost a year from now.
As I can see from the performance of bitcoin, they execute fantastic wherein they provide excellent quality of service to their customer; which gives them a good feedback which can increase the demand that will help to increase the price of bitcoin in the public market.

If you think $20,000 is way overpriced then wait until you see $100,000. There is a lot going on right now and I do not see any reason why the adoption should not increase the more. Coinbase shared how their user base has increased hugely and then looking at the global adoption before the end of this year and this will continue in coming years too. I would not say any value is overpriced as long as there is someone willing to pay for it.

It is very possible to happen if the pumping of bitcoin continue and were almost getting to reach that $20k mark, maybe the first month of 2018 is the time it will reach that kind of price. Looking at the sudden increase of bitcoin these past few months you will see it will have a better future because bitcoin is getting more popular nowadays and more people invest. And I'm not surprised next year more establishments take bitcoin part of their mode of payments, so they better do some developments and add more features to attract more investors.

With price reached by bitcoin in this year, it seems that the 20K USD price is possible in the next year (2018). I know that all people are surprised that bitcoin hits 19.6KUSD in this year because we just expect that by the end of this year bitcoin will just hit 10K USD. But bitcoin easily pass 10K USD. Even though now bitcoin is dropping, I believe it can easily recover then hits 20K USD so fast.

This is not impossible for bitcoin to reach. 20,000 dollars is really achievable in a sense that bitcoin has already resided above 18,000 dollars last year. Within coming 2 years, it is going to cross 50,000 dollars. It is bitcoin, not some tiny altcoin. We need to expect bigger things from bitcoin and support it for that. The number of investors is going to double in the coming years and so will be the price of bitcoin.

People have different point of view regarding bitcoin's market value in the future. Predicting it to reach 20,000$ in 2 years is not so surprising market value since others are speculating it at 50,000$ by next year.
