I've seen today 5600$, 6008$, 5900$, 6060$, now it is 5975$.

I wonder what is true reason behind this. Bitcoin gold airdrop or something deeper?

im not surprised but am grateful to be awake and around to see it break through 100B marketcap. I have been waiting for this for a very long time. Im not sure how the upcoming fork will affect the price. Either way and more important than the dollar value, im happy to see Bitcoin take on the financial market and show its strength.

Most of the other predictions of the bitcoin enthusiast are coming true. I expected the bitcoin price will continue to rise and it will reach $8000 at the end of this year. It is good news for all the bitcoin holders as of this moment.

It's insane! Can you imagine in the beggining of this year bitcoin was traded at $767? Everything is happening so fast and there is still so much to come. If it hits $8000 before the end of the year thats going to be huuuuuge, but I personally think we only gonna hit $6500 in whats left this year!

So china indeed has been defeated by bitcoin. See how fast it was able to stand up again after it been hit by china's banning of ICOs.

The main reasons are upcoming hardforks. Everyone is buying bitcoins or moving from altcoins to bitcoin now to make a profit after hardforks. The more bitcoins you have the more free bitcoin gold and bitcoin Segwit you will gain doing nothing

So, people buy bitcoins now -> bitcoin price is increasing

The underlying factor for this big jump in price is simply the fork coming up,it is easy money and a good way to double your money without much worry and that is the sole factor for this rise and there are other air drops coming up i guess and the third fork is also around the corner

Well, Bitcoin is up how many times/% since the start of the year? 1000% now? I don't even remember what we had going on at the start of the year, but I'm basically completely comfortable with being up in the $6000s. Especially when you consider everything that had been happening when it comes to China and the like. Haven't we come close to doubling the price of Bitcoin since the lowest trough during the whole China fiasco? The entire thing is insane to consider and I don't know why it just keeps going.

There are a lot of people very, very happy with their investments.

AS most of them knows the reason behind this pump of price of bitcoin, but i think it will get dumped heavily before the fork and we can see back the price of 4800 nearby, so be ready for the dump as Bitcoin Gold fork will be failure which will lead in price correction.

Its crazy the jump bitcoin has made. I got in this game only a couple months ago and it has gone up so much since then.

I also like to believe that this is happening in preparation of the upcoming hard fork I'm sure many are temp to sell their bitcoin with this promising price. I am happy with this news, the bitcoin value is rising, it's a good time to sell bitcoin, and for those who want to buy a better coin while moving to another altcoin, and I predict that the bitcoin price d later this year will reach $ 8000.

Really impressive, a couple of days ago we were discussing about how long until Bitcoin reaches $5000 and now it's at $6000. In my opinion you can make a correlation between the bull market and the upcoming fork, however I can see that the demand it's growing and I'd say that the hard fork is no longer the most influential factor in this bull run, now it has a lot to do with the adoption, you can clearly see a lot of money entering the market. It's going to be pretty interesting seeing how the market will react after the 25th.

It is a big possibility that bitcoin pumps because of the upcoming hard fork were there are many people now wanted to have a bitcoin gold in order to gain a profit while holding the bitcoin.

Well people trying to buy more bitcoin to earn more and but of course still a lot of people will sell because of fear and it can result to dump the price of btc. We all know the history of bitcoin so no matter what happen it will surely bounce back.

It has pro's and con's for me, I hold some BTC which is great, but I also want to get more BTC  :P

The price is currently going nuts and wild. Price went up by ~$400 and ended up reaching $6000 within few hours which is crazy. We can expect to see $7000 before the end of year. Or we might see a new correction after the fork and people are done claiming their free bitcoinGold.

The only way to understand and predict whats the next Bitcoin price would be ,is by looking to its previous Bitcoin rally price chart. Tomorrow might back to 5800usd, then the next day will start to climb at 6200 to 6500usd . I guess this is the max for this year.

And we are part of this history! But in my opinion there will be a huge correction with btc price after the btg fork. Anyway congratulations to all of us holders

I'm still extremely bullish towards bitcoin, I buy as much as I can. It’s fun to watch Bitcoin slowly, but surely spread through the world. It’s clearly growing exponentially.

However, I expect most altcoins to skyrocket after the 25th. I just hope there won't be a big drop for BTC after the hard fork.

Mix of Bitcoin Gold and a Bitcoin rush in general. More and more people are learning about Blockchain, so more and more money flows into Bitcoin and the crypto market. This will keep going into a total market capitalization in the trillion dollar range. From that point onward it's anyone's guess. How far we can go will depend on how many companies will move from stocks to blockchain, or if stocks will just merge with the blockchain instead.

It was was an amazing time today as history was made.
This goes a long way to justify all speculations about Bitcoin.

7,000 usd in November is too hard maybe end of this year. the price of bitcoin still up and down it need take time several months to reach 7,000. even it still not touch 6,000

I told a lot of people it is going to be 6-7k this month easily and at the end of the year it will probably reach 10k a lot of my friends listened to my advice and bought bitcoins when it dropped to 3.2k like 4 weeks ago.

I guess this hype is caused by the coming hard fork. People who were there when the Bitcoin cash was created were really happy for the free money they got.
People who missed it are now selling whatever altcoins they have and are going full on bitcoins and even buying more in order to be part of the fun this time.

I really think that once this noise is over (I actually believe BTG is scammy. The dev just said on twitter that they have  premine :/) the price of btc will drop down by a lot.

Yeah it is growing scarily fast some people have made some very good investments in bitcoin in the past three years. Some of them probably sold too early too. It will be interesting to see what happens after fork.

It is a great news,  so happy to see the price going up again,  this few days the bitcoin price really fluctuative,  but the rising is too fast and there are no triggers, so I think there will be a correction,  but I am happy to see bitcoin grow again,  this means there will be a new bottom,  bitcoin will grow even stronger after  the correction

I just woke up and saw a few people posting in the bitcoin group that price reached $6k and I'm pretty happy after watching it on coindesk app, so finally the $6k have already been achieved before the fork. And there are still a few days left before the fork so there can be a slight pump to $7k possible in coming days.

October was great month for Bitcoin.

All time High per Bitcoin was 4899$ last September, and it was easily surpassed by this month, not only once but twice.

What a big surprise, 6060.11 $ per Bitcoin. I can't wait to see 10K$ before the first quarter of 2018.

Its funny how we just speculate that bitcoin value will reach the $5000 mark, unexpectedly it surpasses our expectations and reaches it $600 mark. The demand of bitcoin is really high and we could expect that there is more surprises in the coming months. What I can see is that, bitcoin Is growing not just because of the coming fork but because there more people who are learning about the blockchain,. Excited on what bitcoin will bring, seeing the money entering market.

No, that's not the point, people want to buy bitcoin because the HF is near, they want to bagholding btc gold and expecting its price to be as the same as BCC back then.
However, no one knows whether there'll be price correction or not after new ATH has been reached, because as you know, people still want to get free BTC Gold, even if major parties withdrawn its support to BTC gold lately, people still hyped.

We dont celebrate the Chinese round numbers as historical days, not even 30,000 ?    Hopefully its not too notable because people tend to sell off at round numbers for silly reasons.

It did halt at 30,000 CNY slightly but I think now 33459 is probably more of a border to the current move.  Not as easy to remember though :D

That's freaking insane. I actually expected a dip before another rally. Looks like $7000 or even $8000 would be possible by year end. I'm loving this.

I would say, bitcoin is unstoppable, as it stays longer the more it become stronger everyday. We consider this as another world record achiever and not only will stop on $6k but it would be more sooner.

I just shocked with bitcoin's price going up to 6k$. When I see the price of bitcoin like one hour ago, its like 5.6k$ and one hour later I see it in coinmarketcap and this big increase on the price at a short amount of time. I think the incoming forks is the main reason of the big increase of this. I know that bitcoin will reach the 8k mark at the end of the year or probably 9k who knows. Maybe the chinese people will remove the ban of bitcoin on their country. :D

It is indeed great and surprising. I only exoected that it will be priced 5500$ by the end of this year and it clearly passed my expectations knowing that Bitcoin suffered a huge downfall. There's still another fork next month and if it will be successful, it will again, make the value of Bitcoin more expensive , And maybe able to reach 7000$ before this year end.

I think the party has just started. The minor price drop earlier was really healthy for all of us. And it was like a consolidation or something and then todays meteoric rise to $6000. I think Yobit's announcement coincides with the rise. They officially said today via Twitter that "YoBit is ready for Bitcoin Gold. Balances will be added 24-26 oct"

I consider this a welcoming news and investors starting to go to Yobit and put their coins. That's the only thing that I can think of so far that really push the price above $6000. Although it just been re-tweeted 127 times, but I'm sure there follower's have read it already and going to Yobit now to deposit bitcoins. Probably we are heading to $6500-$7000 before or after the fork.

It's yet historic as it's yet touching a new high, it's important that this rally continues to be growing and growing, I believe it's a fork coming that's influencing the rise and with another planner for November, it could easily touch the magical number 7k. This shall virtually make us all very rich, even in recent polls it's shown it will easily touch 10k, who knows it could easily touch it very soon.

Expect that after the rise there will be fall but if it stays 5.5k before and after the upcoming hard fork that is very not likely that possible to happen... I hope that after these year it will hit the speculated price of 10k hahaha hopefully

I've seen the highest record price of bitcoin which is over $6000. So it is not impossible that bitcoin will hit $7000 this year. Maybe this is happening because the next hard fork is near and we also need to be ready for the next fork or maybe because of airdrops. But we also don't know the main reason, we just have to wait and see.

Wow! that's great. I have ever seen the highest price of bitcoin. I don't know where will it go in future.  But  now I wish it should stable. Because of it all the altcoin is bleeding.  So the bitcoin should be stable.

A $100 Billion market cap and price of $6000, what better do you expect? Honestly this has been the best year for bitcoin, at the beginning of this year it was $1000 and by end of year it has raised by $5000, and still 2 months are left of this year.

Historical day it is! :D I can't believe that bitcoin reached this kind of high though. I am really expecting that this price could be attain after this year. Probably at 1st quarter of 2018. But wow I can't believe this and now people will rejoice for this!

it is really crazy. I was surprised when i saw the price last night. I remember that last few days i discussed a topic about the value of bitcoin that it hard to reach 7000$ but now it is 6000$. As to me, i don't like the movement of this price at all because it proves  that bitcoin ain't stable and easy to affect by many causes

This 6k$+ bitcoin price historical mark is not a surprise to me as i am expected it to become 6500 dollar to 7000 dollar per bitcoin after fork or before
year 2018. This is a good news to all of us who are earning money in bitcoin but slightly negative news to me because i didn't invest much money in bitcoin this year.

I guess it's mostly with bitcoin gold and also with Segwit2x. But I hope there is something deeper than this, recently news about bitcoin are now on the mainstream media and I guess that really helped a lot of attraction to many investors. Here in my country there's suddenly a lot of people that are already interested to bitcoin and everyone is asking here if they have to buy bitcoin.

this transition of value and price is little  bit crazy and confusing the value is getting higher and higher in just a week but apparently the big change to value is coming it maybe drop to 4k or maybe 3k. this is too risky to buy bitcoin in this situation.

I think this is not the highest price of Bitcoin, because I think Bitcoin's price will be much higher than now, maybe if Bitcoin drops, it's a game because all the big investors invite you to buy Bitcoin and then get ready to forecast Bitcoin to the moon.

It seems clear that nowadays the bitcoin price development throughout history has reached a new history of $6k, and clearly this proves that bitcoin seems stronger and more shows its superiority over time from the beginning it was borned. Most of the predictions of the bitcoin analyst are getting perfect. I expected the bitcoin price will continue to rise and it will reach $15000 at the end of next year.
This buzz will keep going till the Segwit-2 with bitcoin fork happening in this year for the second time on 25th Oct.
I personally dont support it. Segwit brings unstability to the market but call of the moment is to hold on to your btcs and earn as the air is filled with news about getting free cash in form of bitcoin gold..!!

It’s a great dissapointment for me and for my friends too.. We wanted to purchase a huge summ, but
we did not believe in bitcoin that time... We would have had x3 price now as a minimum, if we bought it in middle of July + bitcoin gold..

Agree with you. BTC is only for investors and extremely gigantic pool of commercial miners nowdays. It's not convinitent for any transactions. It is constantly growing up: nobody wants to pay with BTC. Now I think it will probably reach 7,5 - 8,0 K USD per one, and then something else will take its place in the field. Not even eth, but something completely different from both.

People who held altcoins now are changing them to bitcoins.. to get the hardforks bonuses
But I think after hardforks, the price of bitcoin will dip again and maybe stay around 6000$ this year.. but it’s just prediction, not 100%. You can know nothing for sure in crypto world))

I am still amazed how well btc is doing and has done in the past, with here and then necessary dumps, but still everytime reaches new peaks.

Yes... Bitcoin prices are rising too fast that now it is getting impossible to predict them. My prediction ($10,000 per coin by the end of this year) was considered to be extremely bullish by the users of this forum, but now it seems like even that prediction will be over-taken in a matter of 2-3 months. Now we don't need to do anything other than to keep our coins safely and securely.

I know, been there, done that. I was trading back and forth in 2013, selling 1 btc for $64 after buying in for $57 and those kind of nonsense.

If only if i could had stopped it at that time and keep on buying, today i would be somewhere else. But hey, every lesson has to be earned right?

This is totally insane and the price will be even higher because we have another fork in November, too. Damn it. Bitcoin is the strongest currency right now and its market cap is even bigger than many countries on this planet.

It's definitely a question of when. Bitcoin, at least for now, is the gatekeeper for all crypto related investments. And cryptos have the highest returns of all currently traded assets, so Bitcoin can only rise.

This is just a beggining of new uptrend.Bitcoin price will keep going up till 25 october due to fork.Noone can stop it right now.Price can resist to 7000$ level on 25 october but after hitting this resistance level price will plummet.

Wow, I thought we will reach $6000 by the end of this year! Will it reach $10000 this year? Fortunately, I have traded all my altcoins before they all crashed. Let's hope for a good new year start next year, I hope that bitcoin will still go higher after the hard fork. It would be great if bitcoin will still increase after getting another free coin which is the bitcoin gold. Bitcoin will always be bitcoin, so I think that even after many hard forks or attempt to find an altcoin to beat bitcoin, bitcoin will still be number one.

But there's too much volatility in cryptocurrency prices and cryptocurrencies are influenced and their prices get affected easily if some bad news comes from any part of this world so it's not to be too much excited about. I am very happy to see bitcoin has reached over 6000 today, it has been predicted to rise more and more, so i hope this will trend will keep rising in future.

I think there will be a rapid decrease in bitcoin price after the hardfork (bitcoin gold). And maybe it will last until the next one (segwit ~17 November). Before segwit bitcoin will increase again and maybe even more than now.

Sounds reasonable. Pretty much what happened during the last fork. I just hope that Bitcoin will become more usable after the forks complete.

I don't know what to say, I am surely happy that the price is increased and reached 6000$  but then I am not sure if the fork is the real reason for the prices to go this high, and amusing thing is that more number of people are buying than what they are selling. Is my reason behind this valid, do you also think that there is something else going on which has caused the price to go up so high, is another strategy used by some sicko again to influence the price or something else or it's just the prehype for the fork? Sure, it doesn't look like it's going to happen this winter but its encouraging and could possibly be realized next year, early next year possibly because per the current tremendous increases and global acceptance of bitcoin it will sure rise steadily.

Next year seems very likely based on the new fundamentals. I can't see Bitcoin going into a two year slumber again like during the first time it reached a >1k $ ATH.

I'm surprised after all this time bitcoin finally breaking 6000 dollars for the first time, i doubted whether it could hit 5000 dollars or not, i've been told by some people that bitcoin will never hit 5k dollars well they don't even know that bitcoin is a deflation currency which price will be up from time to time. I personally estimate that the price will be hit 8000 dollars by the end of this year. Well some analysts predicted that the price for a single bitcoin in 20 years could be hit 100k dollars.

It's great news I just don't know why people are still skeptical about Bitcoin's success but it's so clear right now that it will succeed and so I will urge all to be patient and hold their bitcoins for better days.

Next year, maybe, it will be able to reach a market value of 8000$ and that's clearly possible especially if the hardfork in November will be successful and if the increase on its value will be continuous. Yeah, I was out the whole day and when I came back, the price quickly go up to $6000 and now quite stable. And we are still 3 days away from the the fork. Maybe the price will pick up and go higher as we are getting close to that day. Its really historical day to see bitcoin reaches this high, if you think that starting this year we are less than $1000 and now its 6x than that. $8000 is possible if we can get enough investors to the push the price to that level.

every year the price of bitcoin are always increased, even in 2017 this bitcoin continue to show the development of a very significant. first time I know bitcoin, the price is still in the range of 2700 $ now increased drastic in price 6000 $ for 1 bitcoin.

An all time high price of 7000$ by the end of this year and I put my money in it . A lot of speculation is going on for the prices of bitcoin and altcoin and most suggest that the markets are going to crash after the fork. That would probably be considered as a healthy market status for cryptos.

The higher bitcoin goes in price, the larger the swings from day to day in dollar amount all other things equal, given that the volatility will likely remain. When bitcoin hits $10,000+, we will likely see it swing $1,000 or more on some days. This is to be expected from a relatively new technology that is changing society.

The price of bitcoin is increasing at a high rate. Last year the price of a bitcoin was too much less than this year. Now the price is near 6000$. But in the middle of 2016 the price was nearly 900$. True story, guys. Many people do not believe in BTC and just say: BTC is a shit, it will not rise any more, it will die soon etc.

I think Bitcoin will dominate in the monetary world. Really It's a historical day for this platform. so far I remember that time when Bitcoin price was below $500 USD and people didn't believe that Bitcoin could be sustainable in the competitive world. The reason why the altcoins price are falling down is because of the adjustment of the holders or the investors in altcoins. They are selling their altcoins because they want to get their bitcoin because the price of bitcoin is going up so it is better for them to keep bitcoin instead of altcoin so they can get benefit for the pump price of bitcoin.

It is true that we might not see $8000 in 2017 but in I would bet my ass that 2018 will bring us that price.

I certainly agree on that, because if we have to observe the price right now its been doing great in the market since the midyear updates which was so surprising. For now that $8000 will not be impossible to be achieve and people of different part of the world is now adopting bitcoin ideas on investments like turning their physical money into a digital assets that served as their mode of business. The JP Morgan criticism isnt wrong just because a higher price is reached.   His reference would be to stability and long term efficiency vs competitors in global currency and bitcoin is still just a small thing overall.   As bitcoin has a restricted money supply and dollars are vastly over inflated in order to pay government bills where they run a budget deficit for decades and have trillions in war debt without a likely repayment plan, yes bitcoin should rise in value vs dollars.   

This doesnt mean bitcoin is rising in value, it can just be that dollars are losing value and bitcoin is doing better right now.   When or if dollar is destablised beyond use and no longer a world currency its still possible that bitcoin can no longer float or is not viable vs other crypto standards.    We cant assume that, the worst thing would be to assume sucess instead of working towards it and providing value for those that do use bitcoin and hold it for its utility.   I dont think we can rest yet just because of a nominal figure appearing, most work is still to be done and history is ahead of us not behind.   This is all calm water sailing so far imo :p

It's not that they block the internet because if they block the internet they wouldn't do business outside of the other countries. It's just that they blocked some websites on their country because of some censorship agreement. Hence, Facebook and Youtube won't do a thing to met their requirements, so they adjust and do it. Am I the only one who didn't know why the price today is pushed to $6000? Last time I checked its $5700 then after a few hours it passed $6000 already. I surmised that the November fork is one of the major factor that significantly affect the price today. Important, there are many people doubt the current price of Bitcoin. You need to know the price of Bitcoin has pumped a lot percents from earlier this year until today. Honestly, Bitcoin price really crazy because it can pumped x6 value just in 10 months. A huge market is unlike small market, but its value still can controlled by the whale.

That is why the regulators are so afraid of this price increase. They want to control the currency and to gain the profit from it. Because they are just seeing the millions and billions of dollar turnovers and they can do nothing and they suffer from it..) They want their piece of pie, but they do not know how to take it. So, they are jealous and want to restrict all actions with crypto currencies and take under control, when they know how.. 

Nope, actually, the total market cap of Bitcoin is nothing with the government. They are rich and can cooperate to control the price of Bitcoin, but you have forgot the Bitcoin function can helps the business evade tax. Bitcoin is breaking all records, but will keep on rising. Sure governments want to get a share and want to introduce taxes. This is very risky, because bitcoin can drop as easy as it grew. So if you paid taxes and the price drops you lose more than just the value.

When I saw the price, I was really excited. It's great seeing bitcoin move from about 800  dollars at the beginning of the year to 6000 dollars, it's just too great.
If the price of bitcoin continue to soar up like this, I'm sure before the end of the year,  bitcoin should be around 10000 dollars.

Could easily happen. I'd imagine that people would bull run the altcoin market now and then cash out their profits into Bitcoin around the end of the year before cashing out Bitcoins into fiat for christmas or new year's parties.

In my opinion, may the price of Bitcoin will dump in begin of next year or sooner. Because the investor need to have money for new year and use that amount to buy some things needed. That's the trending of almost investors and the whale also understand that, they can take advantage this trending to dump the Bitcoin price.
