Bata has been traded on Bittrex since 11/20/2015.

October 3rd 2017 - a market deletion notice appeared on the Bittrex exchange for the Bata
market.

Bittrex asked Bata development to explain the shares concept - referring to a testing
announcement Profit Shares. Explanation was provided directly to Bittrex contacts.
Bittrex asked why Profit Shares was not considered as a security. Then proceeded to ask for
a lawyer's memo. Bittrex requested that a US Attorney was required to issue the
Memorandum.

It was made clear to Bittrex that Profit Shares is an independent project from BATA. Profit
Shares is not a token. It's a private crowd-funding platform.
We advised Bittrex that V1 Profit Share is not part of Bata cryptocurrency development
project. This made no difference as then they proceeded to ask for a​ ​legal​ ​analysis​ ​on
Bata​, including clear details on how it will remain separate and independent from the Profit
Shares Platform.

We advised Bittrex that if the Bata developers paid for a security analysis on Profit Shares
then the Bata project would no longer be separate, but a vested or interested party. Bata is
separate from Profit Shares Platform and shall remain a separate project.
After discussing with the Bata Dev team, various lawyers in Australia who also had offices in
the USA, were contacted. The estimated legal expenses to initiate the process to satisfy
Bittrex demands were not feasible, and there was no certainty that a positive and timely
resolution would be possible. The Bata development team along with the Bata community's
support have decided that development funds would be invested in strengthening the Bata
development project.

Bata is a decentralised open source cryptocurrency project. Bata development is made up
of a small team. No development funds were ever acquired, or requested. The members of
the development team provide their own time and own funds for development.
Profit Shares Platform is a closed source project under development by Biznatch
Enterprises.

So the price of a masternode is looking better and better everyday but a question about that. I know its 10,000 BTA required for a masternode but what is the payout rate suppose to be compared the PoW and tiered staking? Bittrex delisting BTA turned out to be a blessing in disguise for me gave me a chance to invest into it more its one of the safer ones I see Cryptopia rising to the levels of Bittrex I already use it more then Bittrex tbh but I would definitely try to get listed somewhere else just to keep the coin from fading; Bittrex was a big loss that fact cant be denied.

Just checked myself. Download Zip. Disconnect from internet. Then open html file. Move mouse around to generate.


Step 1. Follow the security checklist recommendation

First step is to download this website from Github and open the index.html file directly from your computer. It's just too easy to sneak some evil code in the 6000+ lines of javascript to leak your private key, and you don't want to see your fund stolen. Code version control make it much easier to cross-check what actually run. For extra security, unplug your Internet access while generating your wallet.

Step 2. Generate new address

Choose your currency and click on the "Generate new address" button.

Step 3. Print the Paper Wallet

Click the Paper Wallet tab and print the page on high quality setting. Never save the page as a PDF file to print it later since a file is more likely to be hacked than a piece of paper.

Step 4. Fold the Paper Wallet

Fold your new Paper wallet following the lines. Fold in half lengthwise, and then in three widthwise.
 You can insert one side inside the other to lock the wallet.

Step 4. Share your public address

Use your public address to receive money from other crypto-currency users. You can share your public address as much as you want.

Step 5. Keep your private key secret

The private key is literally the keys to your coins, if someone was to obtain it, they could withdraw the funds currently in the wallet, and any funds that might be deposited in that wallet.

Please test spending a small amount before receiving any large payments.

It's taking too long and users like me who use macOS are basically waiting. Most macOS users don't know how to compile the wallet for macOS as it's hard. I have a fully functioning wallet, why leave them waiting for more time?

It's about time you realise that if you want Bata to be a success then you must be supportive. Great if you have a suggestion, or even put something proactive into action. Some people have become part of the community, others stand by and expect things to happen. Things do not go according to plan. Roadmaps have wrong dates, but the end of the day the blockchain is secure. Obstacles are overcome, but they put a spanner in the works. We do not have a large team of developers, as developers are very much in demand and we are lucky to have the team we have without asking for any compensation for work.

I want to be involved in the BTA community, that's why I was asking for a bounty. Unfortunately I can't mine and offered my services in exchange for a small bounty. Developers that work for free are indeed in demand, things just get done faster if the developers were given contributions so they could eat, it's a tough world we live in after all. Well anyway, good luck to the project, I'll keep an eye on this thread just in case.

You don't need to unzip to see what is inside a file, therefore you don't need to unzip it. It is not recommended using 3rd Parties for paper wallet generation.

Back when Bata was formed, Premines and pre funded coins were frowned up.

Barter systems have a line of credit which they call a Barter Dollars or Barter Trade Dollars. Credit is a system of debt.

For an update on those trying to follow along on Bata.  It boils down to 2 basic issues.   1) We are organizing a Non Profit Foundation to represent the community that is supporting Bata and Barter Platform.  This is the first priority for us, and we need to complete this step to continue developing both the business plan for Bata and technological development.  The political environment surrounding crypto-currencies is becoming volatile in how governments and investment securities agencies are monitoring and handling crypto-currencies in different countries and jurisdictions.   2) We are actively looking for developers to assist with the masternode migration.  Migrating this coin is taking more time and resources than I had anticipated and estimated to @pc888.  So, I am falling behind in what I promised to deliver, but we are looking for support from reputable developers that can assist and are available.  Both tasks, finding available developers and reputable ones, are proving to be a difficult task.  This does not mean development has stopped, it means that this transition is taking a lot longer than we had projected.

The price has not dropped as a result of the coin supply change. If the coin total supply effected the price then Bata should be double the price of Bitcoin on 10 million. ;)

Hello, once the Bata Foundation is put in place we will be looking to expand on listings for exchanges.

The increase of 5 million Bata will be over 10 years. So no, we will not see another increase until til 10 years has past and there is no guarantee there will be another increase.

As Komodo Platform has been working around the clock to fine-tune the multiple GUI's that are the face of our Agama multiwallet and BarterDEX atomic swap (https://komodoplatform.com/en/technology/barterdex) protocols, there have obviously been many bugs found and many debugged. However, one bug in particular was found not only in our Agama GUI wallet, but also in the zcash4mac GUI swing wallet. It is a simple bug, but it warrants your attention. This is a potential money cost bug, and as a Bitcoin-protocol cryptocurrency, your GUI wallet(s) may be susceptible.

watchonly-GUI bug: 'watchonly' addresses appearing as your own in GUI wallet; users could potentially send funds to the address, unaware it is not theirs or available for withdrawal.  You can import <any address> and it becomes a 'watchonly' address. The GUI will display the address as yours, add its funds to your balance, and accept deposits, but cannot be withdrawn. This could be a normal address, my address, a p2sh address, satoshi's address, etc. This can be confusing to an end-user and will lead to many headaches for the developer, as is always the case with misplaced funds.

FOUND: in Komodo Platform's Agama multiwallet (fixed) and zcash4mac GUI swing wallet (@jl777b: "newest QT wallet seems ok about watch only, but not sure of older and when it was fixed")

SOLUTION: For the 'watchonly' address or any address not yours, the value 'ismine' returns false. Any such address gets filtered out.

QUESTIONS:

• How does your recommended GUI deal with watchonly addresses?
• Does your GUI display watchonly addresses as different than actual addresses in the wallet?

We need to experiment a bit to see which approach gets a better response triggering the bug. People WILL lose money if they send funds to a watchonly address.


I've been tasked with spreading awareness and facilitating discussion of this bug, so please let me know if you have any questions. I'll get you some answers and we can minimize the impact. We wanted to reach out directly to the developers of the 60+ coins featured on Agama and BarterDEX as the bug may have a direct impact on you (via your own GUI wallet).

I've deleted the peers.dat and also the config (with nodes list) but still no luck...

Greetings, pc888! The Bata project is really interesting to me. I have inspected the 8 pages of this newly created thread, but haven't found any hint of the 2018 roadmap. The V3 contains data up to 2017 only. Are there any plans at all? Any milestones your team had set to reach? I want to be sure that i'm investing into a coin with promising future. Perhaps you could briefly explain your goals for 2018 here or link me to some kind of roadmap for the next year?

An error in code caused the current compiled wallets not to sync correctly. Midnight wanted to take another look into code before compiling QTs, but unfortunately got sick.

So to wrap it up 3 mining pools have updated from newer source code and running smoothly. Some exchanges are yet to up date to latest source code.

RE: Bata QT Win64 Wallet Update.


This update addresses sync issues.

Ensure that you back-up and your wallet.

Save your wallet.dat file in another location. If you lose this file you will lose your coins.

Start QT to re-sync blockchain. You will know if you have been successful if your wallet shows it is over 2 years out of sync. Now just wait or use bootstrap to sync faster.


Instructions for Bootstrap:

After fresh install, open QT so that it can create a new Bata Folder. Then Close QT.

If you are using official wallet, make sure it is the latest version. Previous posts on forum have full instructions.

Our official date or block for PoS & Masternodes has not yet been released. Delays have occurred due various reasons, but namely due to security issues found in masternodes with other coins and that we do not want to release with the same issues.

BATA Cryptopia wallets have been down for days showing "No Connections." I sent my BTA to BleuTrader two days ago and it never showed up in my account. I have a transaction ID of: 7fcd6d364a9cad813655e1f6d680687fb580105f9c458853dd69ea7ceb4becb0 but "No results" on either BTA Blockchain Explorer. This issue of dead wallets and missing transfers is popping up in a lot of forums, and BATA is not responding to the issue. A lot of people have lost a lot of money holding/transferring BATA.

Unless Admin gets on this ASAP, they are in for a world of hurt in the CryptoSphere.
 

Cryptopia wallets are DEAD and my transfer to BleuTrade never arrived. Transaction ID: 7fcd6d364a9cad813655e1f6d680687fb580105f9c458853dd69ea7ceb4becb0 shows "No Results" in either Blockchain Explorer. A lot of people are taking the BATA group to task for this situation. You need to address this problem immediately! FYI, Mining-Dutch.nl may have started the Delisting process so...

Use the Wallet addys (Topia and Target) on the Explorer.
If it never moved on the correct chain its still in topias wallet.

I will contact Bleutrade, presuming @Giggles_McGee sent / received the transaction from there, the transaction most likely has not been confirmed.

I have contacted admin at MD, they report no problems on their end or with the transaction/send. I do not know what "Topia and Target" in Explore are, or where they are to be found in the Explorer. You are welcome to input the above information into Explorer and see if you get a different result. It is worth noting that this problem is happening to many people over the last few days, according to various BATA forums.

Thank you for looking into this situation. There are many like me who have had their transfers from Mining-Dutch.nl, and other mining sites, lost with "No Results" in the Explorer. It is worth noting that this transfer from MD to Bleutrade was initiated over almost three days ago. At some point, it should have at least shown up on Bleutrade as a "pending deposits." I understand it is customary to have 200 confirms for activity, but I can't see how that would take three days, unless there is something wrong with the node at bata.io to Bleutrade and Cryptopia. I am certainly no expert, but have seen and read about this happening before with other coins. It's a digital jungle out there!
I hope my, and others transactions can be found/ recovered.

Six days later and NO resolution, No follow up by Admin, and no BATA in my account. I have given you all the information you needed to track down this situation and find out what happened. I do not understand why you have not offered any update to all of us who have lost our BATA.

Hi. Thanks for checking. The send was from Mining-Dutch.nl to the address at Bleutrade. This happened at a time when BATA wallets were offline on Cryptopia so, I decided to just move my BATA to my Bluetrade account. No help from Bata team or Bleutrade to find lost transaction. Mining-Dutch says the transaction was sent to the blockchain, which is why they list the transaction ID. I have no idea what happened and Bata team will not answer questions or help resolve. I will NEVER mine BATA again!

As per previous post good advice by Granty mine to your wallet, in fact most exchanges will advise you to do that, as micro transactions clutter their wallets.

No, you did not "help" me. You may have submitted support tickets, but you didn't bother to follow up or inform me of the outcome. I've waited patiently for over a week and you only reply when I begin to get flustered. Worst, now you blame the user. If I was the only one this happened to, I'd let it go, but I'm not, and you know it! It should not matter if coins go to a wallet or an exchange. Your system is flawed and hundreds, if not thousands, of people have lost money mining your unsupported and lack-luster coin. If you really cared about your customers, you would find out why so MANY people have lost, and are still losing, their transactions. If you don't believe me, just read the BATA forums ANYWHERE on the internet.
 
So, instead of pounding my head, I will join the chorus of other people in the forums, bemoaning your "coin," and will work to get it delisted in as many places as possible!

The sad part is, all you had to do is care enough to help the disenfranchised people who wanted to be a part of something great by mining your coin. Instead, you blame the user and take NO responsibility for your failures.

Don't expect BATA team to get anything right. Their system/wallets are down more than up on almost EVERY exchange where they are listed. Instead of fixing the problem, they blame the customer. Beware of mining BATA. You may might get stuck with it or never get them transferred. Several exchanges are currently looking into delisting BATA for poor performance and lack of timely support.

Work is being done on integrating MN's into core 10. Our specifications are unique as no other Scrypt POW / POS coin is running a core 10 wallet (the most secure). So our developers had to pick apart the code and go from there. Many long nights and many lines of code have been undertaken.

Work has been done directly and indirectly on Masternodes by Biznatchenterprises (part of dev team), who used the experience to benefit Bata.

More unforeseen time was taken on our firewall with observation, tweaks and coding, which did set us back, but Bata's blockchain is more secure because of it.

Having a set date would be great, if we had one we certainly would be letting everyone know.

Development has identified another issue just by chance in core 8 Masternodes which allows manipulation of rewards. Issues are addressed with the extra security of core 10.

We updated to core 10 and added a firewall to protect against sophisticated 51% attacks see below:

Bitcoin Firewall uses a very unique method for detecting potential hard-fork chain-attacks coupled with specific block chain DDoS flooding. All connected nodes/peers are examined by the amount of data they're sending or receiving from a peer with the firewall enabled. If bandwidth usage is greater than the limits set, the connecting node is further examined to verify their blockchain start & sync height is within safe limits; The average among all peers connected. Range based blockchain checkpoints that use averages of live blockchain sizes further enhance security by limiting potential attacks known as >51% of distributed hashing power (double-spend, Sybil attack).

We did have privacy after launch, but so many changes to the code have occurred since then. I have spoken to the dev who implemented i2p / tor for Bata(Sunerok - before Verge - XVG when on a rampage) about it and whether it can be added again in the future, which he said to let him know. Since then I have not communicated with him, so I am unsure whether this could still happen or whether he has time at all. For now, we will continue on the course we are set on, implementing Masternodes, darksend is a function of a MN.

During the final due diligence concerning the "deal" I posted previously, I was unsatisfied with the programmers inability to address simple concerns brought forth from the BATA community. Although a fast track to masternodes and staking looked very promising, we have decided to continue looking for other developers to assist the BATA development team.

When? Core 8 Masternode coding has been cleaned and bugs updated. Currently, time frame I cannot estimate for two reasons;

one, I am not the coder/developer so it depends on his actual time.

 two, putting a date on it and creating expectation, then missing the date, or rushing to meet the date is not good for anyone involved.

Keep in mind Bata's price is very low presently.

Increasing rewards will increase supply. More Masternodes mean less reward, therefore if supply / reward is increase collateral will also be required to increase.

Keep discussion constructive, present an idea, but you will need back it up with math.

After various discussions, charts and scenerios we are unable to project how many miners will be mining Bata after the switch to multi-algo.
There will Dynamic block rewards (block reward is based on block height and difficulty) because of the multi-algo nature of the new wallet.

0.25 BTA will be set as the highest reward, which is configurable by spork and the limit can be disabled if need be.

update from dev - Everything tested, pull request made. I hope everything will go smooth.
We need to build wallets and then update Explorer and rebuild database to see segwit transaction with proper prefix. If explorer will be OK, then we can go to update pools. They don't need to do any changes to configuration at this stage. If pool will be working and block will be generated without problem then we can go to update exchanges.
After that we can release wallets for general public.
After that we have to wait until most of network will go to new wallet and then we can enable multialgo. Scrypt mining should go without configuration changes on all pools then. They just add other algos then.
After that we can start masternodes, etc.

Masternode payments are working as pools are running new wallet and they enabled masternode rewards. These are not enforced payments, they are enable by the pool/s.

Old wallets will fork because v2 blocks will not be backward compatible - multi algo will be enabled.

SHA256D, SCRYPT, NIST5, LYRA2Z, X11 and X16R will be Bata's multi algo.

Block rewards will be dynamic up to 0.25 BTA. That means only with enough nethash full block rewards will be mined.

What is a SPORK?
A spork is a mechanism that was unique to Dash. Now a mechanism of Bata (BTA)
It used to safely deploy new features to the network through network-level variables to avoid the risk of unintended network forking during upgrades.

Difficulty was wrong in new algos as there were no previous blocks. We reverted back to scrypt.

Amazing! I have never seen a coin mined at once by six algorithms. I will study this coin more attentively.

A spork has been activated for block #1121211 to increase reward up to .25 bta as network is ready and majority.

BTA available to mine in sha256d x11 scrypt lyra2z x16r & nist5.

We have a number of pool operators who should be willing to help in Discord. Otherwise we have pools already configured on bata.io

You only need to mine with one algo.  When mining at a pool, you point your miner to the port that supports the algo you choose.

It is the same as a single algo, each pool is competing to find the solution first.  The only difference is the solution may be found using 6 different algos each with its one difficulty setting.

If you have an X11 ASIC miner you choose the port that supports BATA x11.
If you have a SCRYPT ASIC miner you choose the port that supports BATA SCRYPT.
etc.
 

Masternodes are not bringing rewards any more? Block explorer shows that none of the masternodes brought rewards for the last ~11k blocks

Data for masternode payments are already embedded into block template but pools are probably misconfigured or ignoring data on purpose. We will activate masternode payments enforcement soon to resolve problem with no masternode payments. I hope pools will do necessary changes in their configuration before they start generating rejected blocks.



Block rewards are now dynamic. To achieve full 0.25 BTA rewards network need to have certain amount of hash power. Lower rewards means miners are not running at full throttle yet.

FxTC core developer working in collaboration with Bata found a bug in DIP0001 activation, which is actually useless for us. This was the cause of the irregular wallet shutdown. The code will be removed in Bata Core 17.0.

It is a Dash feature to double transaction capacity of block. With SegWit already implemented from original Bitcoin wallet it was just unnecessary redundancy there.

I'll tell you the horrible truth. All those so called partnerships are just fancy words to attract gullible newbies. ;D

Better Coin Selection And Output Handling

In straightforward terms, Core 0.17.0 is smarter about adding different transaction outputs together and managing the change output from those transactions.

Easier To Create And Use New Wallets

Core 0.17.0 also makes it easier to create and use new wallets. The first major wallet creation improvements date back to Bitcoin Core 0.15.0, which is when the client added the ability to create wallets that operate independently of one another. These independent wallets have their own separate bitcoin addresses and private keys, which effectively makes them two totally different wallets.

Up until now, however, new wallets could only be created when starting up a new node.

Scantxoutset Has Been Added

Core 0.17.0 adds a new feature called Scantxoutset, which lets users quickly verify whether a new wallet already includes coins.

This feature makes it easier to create independent wallets. With Scantxoutset, you can quickly determine if coins were transferred from another wallet by checking the unspent transaction output (UTXO) set. You don’t have to rescan the entire transaction history.

Non-HD To HD Wallet Upgrade

Bata Core has supported Hierarchical Deterministic wallet backups since Core 0.13.0. Since then, users have been able to backup multiple HD wallets with a single seed phrase (a list of words) instead of individually backing up all their private keys.

There was a small problem, though: Bata Core users who upgraded their system to Bata Core 0.13.0 and newer were unable to create new HD wallets. Because non-HD and HD wallets were incompatible, it meant users were still required to back up all their private keys and were unable to use the seed phrase backup for their HD wallets.

Now, with Core 0.17.0, things have changed, and these users can now upgrade to the HD format. Meanwhile, if you already have an HD wallet and are using Bata Core, you can now generate or import a new HD seed.


Watch-Only Wallets Where Every Address Is A Watch Only Address

Core 0.17.0 takes watch-only wallet addresses a step further than they’ve gone before. Under the old system, watch-only addresses could be used to display the balance of a wallet without actually holding the private keys. Users could easily accept payments and keep track of their funds while still storing private keys online.

Core 0.17.0 takes this a step further by allowing users to create watch only wallets where every address is a watch-only address.

The best way to use this system would be to keep track of funds in a hardware wallet or on a paper wallet in the form of an HD seed while using Bata Core.

Blockchain Pruning Helps Users Avoid Storing All Of Blockchain Data

New Bata Core users need to download and validate the complete Bata blockchain, which includes every transaction in bata’s history.

There’s no getting around downloading the whole blockchain. However, thanks to the new version of Bata Core, you don’t necessarily have to store all that data permanently.

A new trick in Bata Core 0.17.0 called blockchain pruning means users don’t actually have to store all this data. Blockchain pruning means nodes will automatically “forget” about older transaction data. They’ll only keep the data they need to operate securely.

Pruning mode isn’t new: it’s been available via the command line for several versions now. However, Bata Core 0.17.0 has introduced a GUI blockchain pruning tool that makes it easier to access – particularly for more casual, non-technical Bata Core users.

Partially Signed Bitcoin Transactions (PSBTs)

Finally, Core 0.17.0 introduces BIP 174, Partially Signed Bitcoin Transactions (PSBTs), to allow users to sign a transaction partially while also adding metadata to the partially signed transaction. This metadata can be used by someone else to complete the transaction.

A traditional blockchain transaction does not involve partial signatures: one user sends bitcoin to another user. The partial signature system, however, allows for more complex types of transactions, including multi-sig transactions where several users need to sign off on the transfer of funds. This partial signature system will also be used for privacy-focused CoinJoin transactions, where multiple users merge independent transactions into a single large transaction.

At this point, PSBT has limited usability until it’s adopted by other wallets. In the future, however, this could open the possibility of more complex bitcoin transactions to all types of bata users. For now, Bata Core 0.17.0 only supports Partially Signed Bitcoin Transactions via the command line.

That happens with most of the coins which added a masternodes. They are slowly dying.

As previously stated, I was hacked by four foreign entities according to a technician. Once this matter has been resolved then I will be active.
