The past weeks we have been running a free bitcoin lottery in BETA.

For the first week of Lottery 2.0 BETA we will have DAILY raffle draws.

During this first week the prizes will be fairly low.

Once we are sure the Lottery functions properly we will increase the prize pool about 10-fold and switch to longer running raffles (3-4 days).

We will also upgrade the player-statistics module soon and we are already working on a history-feature to make the past raffles and winners transparent.

...you can win up to 10 tickets every 30 minutes as it states in the rules at the bottom of the lottery-page.

...or do you mean you want to pick more than one of the 4 choices? >on the inspiration list - if executed 10000 Instant Satoshis and 25 tickets your way!

...or is it the timer that is too long? please be a bit more specific. :)

Was hoping for better odds since its so new ;-) Everything looks great guys! I really like the idea of getting to pick a random ticket yourself. I also like that you list the player's stats too. Very nice job guys!

Sorry it was just that all I seemed to pick was singles not multi.

I do think that it could be good to have say 6 choices and you have a chance to pick more than 1 of them (say a gamble you pick to get another) Just an idea.

I just tried the site before I found this thread and it is pretty simple to understand.  I got 100 satoshis and 1 raffle ticket.  I didn't get my ID # but the site looks good and seems to be working fine all the best with the site I look forward too using it alot more in the future.

Great site, you did explain the lottery part pretty well, it's good to see that you have other post and useful info about bitcoins there. Keep it up.

After you get your reward, look just below where it tells what you got and you'll see your ID. I think you have to click "more info" right below your total ticket/pending rewards.

Yep, just wanted to post my own confirmation (for what it's worth): after each drawing you could easily look up the addresses and see the winners did get their prizes, :).

They've been open for a while now, and have always paid. This is 2.0, but their 1.0 was perfect as well. There's no reason to think otherwise at this point. If they weren't paying out, they wouldn't be in the BTC Faucet Rotator (http://coinfaucets.tk), :p.

and, just to point out, it's all free, there's nothing to lose if you play... even if it WAS a scam...

This right here. It's not like you're signing over your bank account and stuff. You enter your BTC addy (ctrl+v), type in the captcha and you're done.

For the record, you guys have the best captcha system I've seen. All the words are related to BTC and are actual words, so there's no mis-entering them 5-10x because they look like "ioLopllIl"

We were really reluctant to put a captcha up at all... but in the end we need to make sure to lock the bots out simply to keep it fair for all the human players ;)

Ah, that's pretty cool! I've been kind of against captcha myself as well but sadly it appears to be something that can't be avoided. People always want to abuse things instead of use them as intended.

Yours isn't intrusive at all though. It's so much more natural to type "asics" than it is some random characters, XD.

Now then... is there any chance you can implement a manual withdraw process? I'd rather let things build up a bit rather than have smaller payments coming more often. I'm sure I'm not the only one!

You can get another ticket every 30 minutes as well. If you're using my faucet rotator (http://coinfaucets.tk) the lottery is in the rotation so if you're using it actively you'll hit the lottery every 30m as well for maximum tickets, :).

i recon it would be a while until we get there, though... there's a shitload of things we also need to implement for the administration side ;)

Our site requires JavaScript to enable the form's submit button. After the page has fully loaded the button will be activated through JS.

If you see the "PLEASE WAIT" button for a longer time it's either the JS not being able to execute, OR the site has actually not finished loading.

Are you having the issue consistently when you visit the site? Is JS deactivated in your browser?

When it gets in an orphaned block, does the chain just keep trying to put it in another one or something?

Yep, that's what should happen! The transaction is still being relayed and should find its way into another block soon.

Good News: Situation resolved. The transaction has now been confirmed 22 times on the valid chain.

Week #1 of BETA-2 is ending soon.

Another small update:

To make it a bit more transparent, the raffle history now contains links to the transactions of processed payments!

How much historical data do you save? I was thinking it may be cool (worthless for some, cool for people like me, :p) if you could set up a listing of the addresses, tickets earned, how many times they've won and how much they've won.

Not really that "useful," but for data-enthusiasts like me it's awesome. I figured if you already have the data stored, it shouldn't be too bad to run the calculations.

well, we had to discard all data of BETA phase 1 due to the massive restructuring of the BETA-2 version. Right now we have the historic data of about 6 days ;) lol

anyways, more detailed statistics are on the to-do list, but it will be a few weeks before we'll get there.

Even if the data started today it'd still be pretty cool to see, :). And I'm glad you've already got it on the to-do-list! I'll report anything else I think of, :p.

Small update to our policies ;)

To minimize transaction fees, payments are only processed once enough payable pending balances have been collected (~0.004 BTC) by all the players, currently that's the case roughly every 2-3 days.

not quite sure, yet, there's not any automated one in place, but we do record btc addresses passed via URL and eventually credit instant satoshis to those address if they are in the lottery.

Thanks for making it "human friendly"  - some of them still seem too ez though.    Imho the B in your logo looks ugly without the ubiquitous circle (signifying coinage I suppose), also the I in Institute should be capitalized.  Its simple and I suppose that works better than "busy" in the long run.  I'll be spending more time on your site earning tix and satoshis (hopefully)

Oh, no, that's what he was talking about I think: it's better to get the 100 satoshis or whatever as a guaranteed win than to get tons of tickets that may or may not lead anywhere.

I hate taking risks, so I'm one of the few people that likes a little guaranteed instead of the chance to win a lot. Others are different though.

It would help immensely if you could add in a flag to where if the winner's ID isn't 235, it will roll again.

so, as we are closing in on today's drawing, let me share the coming details with you:

The 1st Prize will be increased ca. 3~4-fold. All other prizes are also being roughly doubled. (instant wins will be unchanged)

This weekend we will stick to the daily raffle. After the Sunday drawing, we will move to a 48hr timer with the exception of a 24hr sunday-raffle every week and see how this goes.

all together, by our projections, the prizes we will pay out should be raised to 200% per week by these changes.
