Where does everyone think bitcoin will be by the end of 2018?

I'm interested to see where everyone thinks bitcoin is headed, like value wise and how people would have adapted to it.

Right now, Bitcoin is retreating some hundreds of dollars probably because the excitement caused by the hard fork is already gone into the river. There had been marked upswing movement in the demand side of Bitcoin partly because people were buying Bitcoin in anticipation of receiving the free Bitcoin Gold and altcoin holders converted their coins into Bitcoin for the same reason. Now, the fork was already here and we are now reverting back to the normal Bitcoin trading hence the value is going back to the $5,500 level more or less.

Will Bitcoin be back surging as we are heading into the holiday season. As far as I can remember, every holiday season (November - January) is a spending time so there would be many who can be converting their Bitcoin into fiat money and so demand can thin a little bit. I am not so sure but maybe at the end of 2017, we can be seeing Bitcoin still lingering in the $6,000 level take or leave some hundreds. I am reserving my excitement for next year when new markets can be opening and bigger Bitcoin exchanges can be opening their doors to the public in many countries.

I think bitcoin will still be here and still getting stronger.

The price might be higher than $6000 already. Golden era of bitcoin is really fast approaching.  :D

When more and more people know bitcoin, accept bitcoin. When using bitcoin, everything is ok. I don't think it's going to take long, or maybe within a few years. Now, there's a bitcoin ATM machine on the streets of Germany and Hongkong. I think this is the beginning ;)

in 2018 bitcoin will remain above $ 6000, this year's bitcoin price increase is really amazing, prices rose 10-fold from last year ,, I regret for not buying much in last year. I think this will continue, bitcoin will not go down.

i think bitcoin will be heading to $15,000-$18000 before the year close in 2018 why because the movement of btc through the years is really healthy and this estimation is really possible to reach and it may be much higher depending on how the public will adopt bitcoin in the market

Throughout the past years, we tried to predict the price of bitcoin as $5000 nearly in 2018 and same condition occured.
Some people might not accept our speculation but i think there would be a lot of changes in cryptocurrency market between current year to 2018.
Not impossible that the value of bitcoin can be worth $10000 by the end of 2018.

In my own speculation  it wil reach up to $10,000 either mid 2018 or at the end of the year. Due to social media and technology advancment, bitcoin will spread like desease the next coming years. For next five years, it is not impossible to hit $25,000. Bitcoin is unpredictable but very promising.

 In my opinion, by the end of 2018 bitcoin will cross 10000 dollars. I am not saying it will reach 10000 dollars, it will cross 10000 dollars . May be it can reach 12000 dollars or something like that. Because its getting popular day by day. Moreover nowadays its hitting the headlines of all media because of its high surge in price. So daily more people are coming to know about this cryptocurrencies and they want to invest in it. So as the demand increases, bitcoin's price will also increase. So no one can exactly predict that how much will be its price by the end of 2018.

Seriously? I never heard that bitcoin will be end by next year also if you read some news about that then its obiously a hoax where they try to earn money from ads to visit their blog and read some fake news , fake news everywhere i suggest you don't ready those just visit those website that are really in the content of bitcoin. Bitcoin will never be dead and still in to bumping.

Anything can happen next year, a crash, a fork that gets everyone's attention, a new crypto that will revolutionize the market, more countries banning btc exchangers, etc. The only thing i'm sure is Bitcoin going mainstream next year, especially with those rumours about how Amazon could implement BTC as a payment method, who knows, right? but one way or another, btc is going to blow up next year. Value wise, i believe we could reach 10k in January.

It is really hard to predict bitcoin's price for next year.
YTD's price increase is 650% and might end to 700% for this year.
If this growth happens next year then that is a whooping  $30k per coin. or it may be the other way around.
More FUD might be released against the coin on the coming months which will result to a more publicity for
bitcoin both positive and negative.

If bitcoin really ends in 2018 then it is something that is not right. we know that Bitoin is currently growing and has an incredible rate of improvement. now we're at the end of 2017 and imagine that bitcoin will end in 2018 it's the funniest thing I've ever heard.  :D

I have fun every time I think about bitcoin price and it’s future and its amazes me how the community is on the positive view of it always. Because I’m also optimistic that cryptocurrency is having more and more investors day by day and that alone we can be sure of its increasing value. For me a 10000$ - 10500$ is the minimum of year 2018.

While technically anything can happen at the same time the scenario in which bitcoin crashes is very unlikely, bitcoin is very strong at the moment and if bitcoin goes mainstream in the next year then there is no way the price is going to go below the current levels.

My conservative estimate for end of 2018 is $15k-20k, so that's what I'm hoping for.

I think its very unlikely it won't be at least $15k.
I could see it going as high as $25k next year since I definitely think institutional investors will start getting on board in 2018 and the price will really start booming.

I think if Amazon rumors about accepting Bitcoin as a payment method prove true, that could be a temporary catalyst to drive prices upwards to $6500-7000 in the short term, with another pullback in the days and weeks following. $10k in 2018 might be realistic, barring major regulations that are not yet announced weighing down on the price.

Looking at the table it seems bitcoin may hit even $10000 by 2018 if the pump will continue. In the past years bitcoin become a hit as the value increases very high only this 2017 the value of bitcoin double this is why many investors believe that bitcoin will continue to fluctuate and a more impressive price will be seen in the later years. I'm so excited to see how bitcoin rocks the digital currency world.

For what has happened for the past three months we have witnessed a lot of attack against bitcoin reputation by notable personality and bitcoin still remains strong as at today, we can really said bitcoin is going to be great in 2018. I believe that we are going to break  $10,000 and remain up there from the second quarter of the year till the end of the year. In 2018 we may have one or two online mainstream retails shop adopting bitcoin and some third world countries adopting bitcoin as a mode of payment.

Todays price of almost 6000$ per BTC and the time limit in which we have come to this price might be some indicator for end of next year.So we have only 1000$ price at the beginning of this year and current growth of 600%,imagine such growth in 2018 and you get something around 36000$.This is just pure speculation based on this year,but it would be realistic that the price would at least doubled by the end of next year.Let's say the price could be between 12000$ and maybe up to 20000$.

Yes, when world popular ventures start accepting bitcoin it will easily reach common people as well leads to growth in large scale. In reality the price at present seems growing gradually, so surely it'll reach above $10000 before the middle of 2018. Hope the price by the end of the year 2018 can be expected to be around $20000.

It is not simple to predict about a strong currency easily it takes time when you predict a currency you look at the boom and fall of the price and the market value of that currency. I think bitcoin will be stable in the coming next year and it will fruitful like now. There will be new rooms open for investors and they will invested more likely.

before 2018 is over bitcoin price will finally enter a mad mania run-up like in nov/dec. 2013, will probably spike up to $35k-$50k an will be on its way down by the end of next year. my guess is around $15k-$25k by then.

I'd say that price should cool down a little in 2018. The pumps have gone very very high and so are investors expectations, however this cannot be sustained forever and will have to stop one way or another.

Most likely by the end of 2018 we'll see price stabilize at around the $4000 mark, which is still very high.

But end of 2017, we could see high levels. $10k is possible, before a correction.

Bitcoin is unpredictable, we dont know where is going to be the price not even in a few days from now, well, we can make some "predictions" if we make a good analysis on the charts, but the price is very volatile because it is being manipulated a lot by the governments and some politicians, so maybe one day it can be up by 10%, and the following day -10%.
But of course that it would be more than ten thousand dollars by the next year.

Well I think it’s sure and confirm that the price will be high because the way bitcoin is going popular and strong now a days so there is no doubt that bitcoin be on the top of all currencies but to find the exact figure it’s very hard to say because it’s a digital currency and its related with a trade so I think it’s very hard to do prediction about it.

Yes we can say that the prisent increase in the price of bitcoin is due to the increasing interst of the peole, In fact the interst of the people is contuously increasing, so they are demanding more and more for bitcoin and that is the reason that we can see a huge increase in the price of bitcoin, we can expect that this increase will even continue tell the end of the year.

I think Bitcoin has already reached the predicted value of the year which was $6000 and the next year value would be high. I think bitcoin will reach the grand value of $10000 till the end of 2018 and who can say it will increase more.

It is fixed that if you  invest in bitcoins now you will get high returns later and there in no doubt in this. My predicted price is $10000 in the next year and it will happen.

My prediction about bitcoin in 2018 maybe it will crash deep or it will continue to climb  and reach or surpass the 10k value cause there's a posbility ithink. I was going for about $10K but you even predict it to reach at least $15K. Interesting, I really do hope for the price to reach that much by the end of the 2018. But in fact, I did not expect for bitcoin to be this high for 2017 so I guess anything may be possible. For all we know, it could get even higher than all of our predictions.

Do you really think that is a huge number? I mean we went from $1000 to over $6400 in 10 months. It's gone up 9x in exactly the past year. Even $25k is only 3.9x in the next 14 months. $15k would only be 2.34x in 14 months. 48 hours ago it was $400 less than it is now.

Yes absolutely $15k for 2018 is EXTREMELY conservative. I mean heck, assuming the hard fork doesn't hurt the price, I could see Bitcoin possibly hitting $10k in January. We may very well see $7k in the next week or two. I'm actually starting to think even $20k for 2018 is rather conservative.

I don't even know what you are thinking with $10k for 14 months from now. It just broke $5000 for the first time 19 days ago (going by coinbase price) and today it hit $6400. The raw dollar value of appreciation is picking up, as it always has been over the course of bitcoin's life because bitcoin is on an exponential growth curve - the more money that comes in the higher the price goes so even more and more money comes in as people realize it's not just gonna crash and there is lots and lots of money to be made. Other than in the wake of the Mt. Gox crash (2014-2015) Bitcoin's price has always been going up by more dollars each year than the previous year. Let's just say Bitcoin hits $8000 by the end of this year, that's a $7000 gain this year. So at minimum we can expect more than $7000 gain in 2018, and likely MUCH more. So if Bitcoin ends 2017 at $8000 (and I think it is likely to be higher than even that) that puts a good absolute minimum prediction for 2018 at $15k, but much more likely it will be $20-25k or even higher in 2018.

Bitcoin does not have linear growth, it never has. Why would you predict linear growth of as your $10k prediction suggests far worse than linear growth? It is an asset that is experience the normal exponential S-curve that all widely adopted new products experience. So while 2016 went up by hundreds, 2017 went up by thousands, 2018 will go up by $10-20 thousand, and for probably at least a few years after that until the global bitcoin adoption starts leveling off as it nears the top of the growth S-curve, we can expect an increase of several tens of thousands of dollars each year.
So for bitcoin price think $1000 (2016) -> $8000 (this year) -> $20k (2018) -> $40k -> $70k ->$110k -> $160k -> $200k+... perhaps starting to slowdown around that point, maybe not until a lot higher, maybe a bit lower.

It is hard to predict what price it will sit on by the end of 2018. In a year many can happen so I have 2 speculation for it. If price goes upward and the trend continues as is, it will sit above 7000$ price level at least since it has been pumped a lot lately, probably there won't be much of a rise but rather there will be a dump first. Another prediction if it goes sideways is that btc will sit at price ranges below 4000$.

And bitcoin is showing its strength once again, look at the huge price increase, bitcoin once again going up in value and it is now above 7000 in the first days of November, it seems the prediction that bitcoin could reach 10000 dollars before the end of the year is slowly becoming a reality.

Well for me, I think the price of bitcoin by the end of 2018 will be anywhere between $40,000 to $50,000 because if you look at the recent bitcoin growth, bitcoin value was growing in lighting speed. In this year alone bitcoin value increases with about 800% - who knows may be the value of bitcoin might reach 1000% by the of 2017. If bitcoin continue to grow even by 500% next year 2018 - the value of single bitcoin would be worth around $40,000.

That's high prediction for bitcoin.. Here in my country bitcoin is really well known but not use by a lot of people so i think in next year it can increase people to use bitcoin.. if ever will know what is that actual use of bitcoin they can invest and use bitcoin instead of other internet payment processor since they can also getting the benefits of the price increases they can also buy easily without identity check when  buying online..
But this prediction $40k or even $30k is impossible to happen.. i think we  will see slowly movement but not in that price..

I'm not actually talking about people like me and you, i was talking about the big companies who started investing in bitcoin recently.
If you look at the recent bitcoin growth you should know that's not ordinary but highly anticipated by the very big companies and very rich investors.
And bitcoin value will grow whether with guys like us or not because a lot of big companies are now started investing in bitcoin. that is why the price of bitcoin keeps going higher.

i also looking for that big possibilities that bigger investors are now behind this certain rise up, bitcoin making its way to the new height simply because
businesses are now showing interest and if adoption will continue and more big companies that will use this as mode of payments then 10k $ or more will happen before this year end and what more do we expect next year.

I think $40-$50k is a bit high for next year, though not impossible. I'm thinking more like $25-30k.

It could go up to 40-50k range next year but only if institutional investors just go crazy on bitcoin next year. I think the process of getting most institutional investors on board will take about three years. It's starting with these two futures contracts that will be offered in the next few months. I think by mid to late 2018 institutional investors will start hopping on board for real (with actual bitcoin backed products), which is what I think could push the price possibly up to $30k. I think they are very reluctant to hop on board and when they do they're only gonna be putting a little bit of their massive money in to start. So I think a rise of $20k in price next year is doable but not much more. Over the next five years though I think bitcoin will become a standard asset to invest in and that'll push it well beyond $100k.

If the pump will cointinue up to the end of 2017 I can say that bitcoin will be heading $10000 in 2018. The market of bitcoin grows very fast and this year gives so much profit to a lot of bitcoin investors and as this pump continue giving us opportunity I'm sure many people will turn their heads into bitcoin and will start looking for it, with this the demand of bitcoin will continue going up and will affects the pricing of limited supply of bitcoin.

I think its far fectched but the pricing would be at the end of 2018 is nearing $20000 a piece. As the market hits $10000 more people would want to hop on the market creating so much demand for little supply.

We may have up to 20% adaptability increase before the end of 2018. Bitcoin have the best years in 2017 as this year performance was an extraordinary and we expect this momentum to be sustain till 2018. I do believe that big online retailers like Amazon and aliexpress are going to adopt bitcoin as one of the way you can pay for goods on their sites.  I believe bitcoin price will go as high as $15,000 before the end of next year. I have foreseen that governments will also be  adopting bitcoin and legalize bitcoin.

I would say $10k is not an unreasonable level at the end of 2018, all things considered because a strong year is most likely to be followed by a weaker one. The bulls wont run forever at this rate. But a stabilization in December and slow going on forward into and throughout the next year might slowly make $10k possible.

Potentially <$1000 if the fork goes badly and we have a crash. The existing banking system , Dimon etc will point the finger and say “I told you so” and the MSM will drive non bank Crypto into the ground. Most of the community wasn’t around for 2014 so have not experienced bitcoin really crashing and staying crashed, or eroding 2-3% a week for months. They won’t be able to deal with it emotionally and they will abandon bitcoin and crypto telling themselves it was all a Ponzi run by evil hero and legendary members on bitcointalk.
If this happens the recovery will take en extremely long time (if ever) - before when we crashed there weren’t that many of us to get hurt, there are a lot more now and the collective memory and hurt will be much much greater.

I think bitcoin has the possibility to reach that price before the end of the year however I think in the next year the price is not going to move much after all we cannot get new all time highs in every month, we need some time to rest and some time to accumulate more bitcoin.

Bitcoin's adoption is constantly increasing, so regardless of the short term dips we experience, we'll continue to go up. If CME gets an approval from the SEC, we'll see this market rocket up like there is no tomorrow -- this will open the door for institutions to enter the market. We can't expect each year to result in 500-600% growth margins, which obviously is insane if you think about it, but growth is something that can't be held back for too long. If we do happen to correct further from current levels, it's nothing more than a temporary step back -- either keep holding, or use it to buy even more coins.

It is really difficult to predict what the price would be at the end of this year,because the price of bitcoin was breaking records on a monthly basis and with the cancellation of 2x fork we could see a hibernation period for a while and we could see a correction from this point until we see another push in the price,so it is not that easy to predict the price now.

It might be around 8000-9000 US Dollars. After all bitcoin is unpredictable and it might break records even further this year.

with normal trading and no new news (new fork , countries support bitcoin) price will up to 9,000$ with good news will up to (15,000$)

mate,  i think so csuse  now 1 Bitcoin equals   7476.78 US Dollar. Always believe in bitcoin and the price of bitcoin is raising so fast and if the price continue to growing in this way then  i think  bitcoin obviously can hit 10k dollar or more within February 2018 year

I know that bitcoin is not going to wait for us if it skyrockets then it is better that we get to have a lot of bitcoin already in order to take advantage of that situation but to me it seems the growth needs to slow down a little bit, it is impossible to maintain the big percentage of earnings we got in this year.

2018 is plenty of time for bitcoin to grow. I'm pretty confident with bitcoin's value going to at least $12,000 and set multiple all time highs along the way in early to mid 2018. Though it goes without saying that this bull hike cannot last forever.

If it can indeed last till end of 2018 i don't see $20k a problem for bitcoin to break at all.

If it ends earlier though then we can only wish that it does not crash too low. But new ATHs will definitely get set.

I think the Bitcoin price will growth in the long term with small price corrections from time to another. In order to profit from the corrections that will happen on the holidays of the end of the year, and you can also Hodl if you are a long term investor .

BTC's extremely volatile and one small event can have a big difference on the price level of bitcoin. Hacks or whatever can all affect bitcoin greatly, and we can't really predict whether or not that is ever going to happen or when.

But if everything goes right, and nothing falls apart, easily we could be looking at $25,000 per coin by the end of 2018, if not more.

The price of bitcoin should be $20k or something by the end of 2018. Maybe bitcoin will be more adaptive to others and will continue to grow like a wild flower. Right now, bitcoin price is $8200 and i hope by the end of 2017 it reaches $10k well there's nothing to lose if we hope for it to happen but i know for sure that it's going to happen not now but soon.

There is only 1 month+ till to the end of 2018, I don't think there will be big rise, but if CME group listed bitcoin, then $10k should be good to go.

I think it would be too soon to give outlook for 2018 . The block chain market is very volatile and unpredictable. The upcoming events of 2018 is not known to any of us . So this will be very soon to assumpt . If we look at the ongoing trends and the graphs it is very easy to say that bitcoin may outgrow and cross the mark of $10000 by the end of even mid of 2018 but any major event can lead to a drastic fall as well .
Some of the major players of the market are speculating that bitcoin might fall again by march . So all the events will decide the fate of bitcoin in 2018 . I can conclude by saying that bitcoin might not go below $5000 for a long time to come.                 

It is hard to say what will be the bitcoin end of 2018 due to unstable price of it. But I still  believe that it might be reach the price higher than the price this year. Only that, we can't control its life since anytime it can be ups or falls. It's really unpredictable. Even it happened, people are still keep holding and hoping for it will booms more than its current price.

We got some news and now we know that some investors with deep pockets are going to begin to invest in bitcoin at the end of the year, this is great news and I think this has funded the recent increase in price since people are very optimistic about the future of bitcoin.

1 month till the end of 2017, the end of 2018 is still far away and not the easily predictable. But I am bullish on Bitcoin and hope for it to soar big time in 2018. Lets say 25,000 by the end of 2018. That would be great!

Its really hard to predict weather the price of bitcoin will rise or will it drop at a certain level, for sure by that time a lot of people will be using bitcoin and will know what bitcoin is, lets just keep an eye on the market and trade wise so that we can profit more.

I'm assuming that the 2018 bitcoin price will reach above $ 20k, maybe the highest price is $ 45k, it looks like it looks high, but everyone never thought that the current price could reach $ 10k.

Base on the market analysis I have seen so I have not doubt in my mind that bitcoin market value reach $20,000 before the end of December 2018 all things been equal and that make the current value of the best opportunity for investment as the future is going to be great.

Man, funny how Bitcoin always manages to surprise and you just have to keep adjusting predictions. On this thread in October I said $20k-$25k, beginning of November I said $25k-$30k. Now, assuming hedge funds and ETFs both get into Bitcoin next year I think $50k-$60k is very possible for 2018.

If Bitcoin hits $20k before April I'd say we are likely on pace for going after $60k in 2018.

Why not at $60k by 2018? That's a very profitable price if we think about of the end of 2018 next year and I don't think that there's a bubble behind that valuable price ever. As for now I have a nice plans for the future, and holding bitcoin is worth if ever that will come to a reality, just like what happens to bitcoin price of reaching this far at $10k. Hopefully we'll be hitting the target speculated price next year and I recommend to hold our bitcoin and stop selling for now.

When you wrote that prediction that seems like a good price for bitcoin in 2018 but today with bitcoin over 17000 dollars there is a possibility we reach that price before the end of 2017 and it is insane to even imagine what kind of price bitcoin is going to reach at the end of 2018.

That amount will be achieved surely. It may not be reached greater than 12K at this year like it did before since BTC is still in the process of recovering. But still, hope to have some good news that can make the market pumps. Been holding for awhile, but still willing to hold.
