Yes, bitcoin is down again, I think it's because some of the alt user withdraw there fund to buy some alt's again due to, some believe that BTG is a scam, but others still believe they will get BTG. BTG is an airdrop of Bitcoin. They say that they will give it to those people who has BTC. So I think it's really wise to buy BTC today before Oct. 28

i think you can waiting for a while because this price it seems going to go up and down to often and we don't want to buy when the price is high. if i see in the chart, the price is still want to going down and maybe it will reach more than $53xx-$52xx but i hope that the price is not down until that price. we can buy bitcoin when reach lower price and sell again when the price reach higer so we can still make profit and the best is we can always get the lower price but it is hard to predict the lower price.

In my opinion, this is normal in the trend of bitcoin's price because there are many who bought bitcoin only to ride the bandwagon and follow the hype without proper knowledge and strategies in trading bitcoin, which could probably result to having weak hands in the market. What is happening today and the following days is consolidation process and healthy pullback which is a good sign. Let the market wash itself from the weak hands. All wise investors know this will happen and stick to their strategy - buy low and sell high.

I agree, Bitcoin is probably going to dip even further due to the latest events with the  fork of Bitcoin Gold, even if it's not really successful, it sure does have a negative effect on its price, currently at least.

I think this is not the time to buy for now because the correction is still happening we can really see the real price I think tomorrow and bitcoin would still gonna go down if the safe zone is not at $5000 mark value, and that will be the time to really buy at your hearts content and bury a lot of earnings towards your wallet.

You have a point. Waiting is the best thing to do for now. If bitcoin going down now it is better to wait for the sign that it is going uptrend again. To maximize profit buy during uptrend do not buy while the price going down.

You're definitely right. Instead of panic selling, we should buy more Bitcoin and hold for a period of time. Its market value is falling because the date of the next hardfork is getting closer. Surely, after the hardfork, it will again increase and will definitely yield to huge profit as its value become more expensive especially if the segwit2x will succeed.

Bitcoin is down again and its time to buy again at this time as it will rebound again in the next few days for another hardfork on November.

Bitcoin is the currency it can be down sometime it can be up sometime it is the routine of these crypto currencies and this up and down makes the profits for traders. It is also a chance that for now if we purchase bitcoin we can sell it in the future for high price.

What he is saying now is at these levels it's the time to sell, not buy.
Sure we could go up a bit more but the risk/reward is not in your favor.

Wish I had enough funds so I can buy bitcoin. Now is the time to buy bitcoins. Maybe it will drop until next week. But I'm pretty sure it will recover its price by next month so there's nothing to worry about.

After reading all the posts in this thread, I don't really agree with the opinion that bitcoin will keep keep dropping and that will test the $4.8K or $4.9K levels. Bitcoin is now at the same price as it was before the fork. It went up because of it, and now it corrected itself since all the bgold has been collected, and can now be sold for profit.

I think bitcoin will continue "stable" at the current levels, and it will probably rise again because of the next hard fork, this time for segwit2x. From the position of the majority of the community (miners, exchanges, users, wallets) B2x will not succeed with their intentions of overtaking the legacy chain, so users will claim it and sell it for sure. So we will probably see the same thing all over again. Price will rise, and then will be corrected.

From this point, if everything continues well, I do think that more investors will come, and BTC will soon reach $8k. Probably until the end of the year.

I did not really think about that, but it makes sense. People are hesitating while Bitcoin Gold is getting released. I think the same thing is going to happen as with Bitcoin Cash though. Eventually people will sell it off and it will go back into Bitcoin and boost the price back up over $6,000... and then it will crash after.

Oh, I saw that also in the market. We didn't know exactly on what is the reason on dumping of price of bitcoin but I think it will recover quickly because there is a huge pump in every dump as the traders said because that is their time to buy and that was proven. So bitcoins' price next goal is $10000 before this year end.

Agreed. It may be the last chance to buy Bitcoin that cheap before it surges well over 6000$. Although I personally don't particularly believe in the story of people buying bitcoins to get free "gold" coins if I can call them so, in a week or so, when things clear up a bit with the coming hard forks, Bitcoin may be set to jump in price just like it went from 3000$ to nearly 5000$ within literally a few days. I mean to say that today's 5500$ per coin is like 3000$ in the second half of July, when Bitcoin first went down and then rose greatly. The history seems to repeat itself with minor deviations.

bitcoin has failed a test on 5650 support line, the next lower level test is 5156 support line. If you want to buy a BTC dip, don't go all in, let's say 10% of your money and if BTC keeps coming down, then buy another 10% BTC to average down.

They are needed in order to improve bitcoin. This coin becomes technically stronger due to these splits. But I do not think that new coins will be able to compete for the bitcoin original

Bitcoin prices are on an uptrend and have no downward trend. I think this is just a price adjustment after the hardfork and prices will continue to increase in the coming time and will be stable over the long term. I've been tracking Bitcoin for the last 4 months and have had a lot of new knowledge in the cryptoucurrency market

Actually if bitcoin is again down today it doesn't that confusing by the way because we already know that bitcoin value is not stable and consistent or fix to one value only. Its always fluctuating that what makes us hard to find the right time to sell or coins. And by the way also bitcoin is a trading so expect that it would down or rise unexpectedly.

It's nothing unusual for bitcoin so I'm used with this rollercoasters. It will find a stable price at some point but I think it will be after the corection is finished. However don't panic now and prepare for alts when they touch the bottoms.

Probably its true that even if bitcoin is down again it was already expected because its already the principle of trading, like the principle of stock exchange in the market. So if bitcpin is down again well its a good chance for buying bitcoin to increase investments. Yes it's now buying time as many people got their profit already and they are now going to pull their profit to alt coins for a couple of weeks. And before the last hard fork, Segwit2x there will be another pump so this is just a normal thing that will happen after the pump that happened as we reached $6,000 as it's new all time high. I think it's too early to buy bitcoin. The price will fall further. I think she will stop at $ 5000. Now everyone will buy altcoins. For now in my own view its still risky or high to buy on the current price of bitcoin.I do really expect that there would really be more price correction or decrease and i am also waiting for that one before would decide to buyback on cheaper bitcoins. Yeah, apparently it went down again. Best thing is to keep on holding on to the bitcoin that you already have and then if you have extra cash, then buy additional bitcoins. This is if you are not trading with alt coins. If your main focus is just bitcoin then i think that is the best thing to do. Hold the existing bitcoins in your wallet then add while the price is still low. Sell at the price point that you feel like selling. If you feel that at 8000 USD you wanted to sell an x amount of bitcoin then do that but if you are looking for long term then just keep holding, add bitcoins from time to time when the price drops.

I expected it to drop a lot more after the hard fork a couple of days ago. However, I would be surprised if there won't be a major correction anytime soon. I think the price was not severely affected due to the fact that many other people expected a siginificant price drop and, regardless of the relatively small correction, did buy bitcoins in the end.

The dip in its price brings unrest only to the beginners but that provides a great chance to the professional traders to get some of them at cheap rates so as to double up there profits since the price always on an average keeps on increasing.
I believe you can hold them up as the price will soon, surely be above the 7000$ and that too in this very year positively...

Altcoins are usually rising after Bitcoin has stopped rising and started trading sideways. It seems that they are somewhat lagging behind Bitcoin growth. On the flip side, if Bitcoin goes down for any significant number like 10% or so, altcoins are falling even faster along with it. This just proves that people have less confidence in altcoins than in Bitcoin, and the latter remains the major driving force behind the growth of the whole cryptomarket.

Bitcoin fluctuations downward trend and upward trend is a normal situation, for that shows the fources of demand for Bitcoin and supply of bitcoin.  If you check the current market value of Bitcoin you see that  it is currently tending towards  $6000 again which is the expection of everyone.

Bitcoin was really down at the time you open this thread, though that is a sign that people were busy taken off their profit at that time. Currently it is moving toward $6000 and even, on some of the exchange company it has break $6000 already which signifies that $10000 maybe achievable before end of this year.

That's exactly what we should do. buy more bitcoins instead of selling the bitcoin we own. Until now, the value of bitcoin has been rising steadily, and anyone selling bitcoin in the past must feel remorse.

I do not think in bitcoin.co.id bitcoin prices rise again about 3.7% and the price back again above Rp.80.000.000 where bitcoin prices are now at its peak. I do not know whether the bitcoin price will be higher again or even down but already a lot of news circulating bitcoin will go down because it has reached the maximum price but it is uncertain news so you live to predict yourself whether you want to invest again or sell it.

things about bitcoin that are not clear. Why did we have hard forks, and what happened exactly there?
There are some questions without answers, bitcoin is still in developing stage and that have reflections on
stability.
   After some bad news bitcoin price went down a lot, first I could not believe that something stupid like
director of financial institution can drop the price so much. Bitcoin is not strong, one more reason why
we can not expect bitcoin to be stable.
    There are more problems about bitcoin scaling, transaction fees, regulations, until bitcoin solve all this
problems I mentioned and many more we can not expect stable price.

This is just a correction value only and is a common thing. Holding BTC for me isn't to speculate, meaning to have Btc as our savings in the future. What i have in mind is not about $K, but when btc is right to be $20K later. And yes, keep buying btc as long as we can afford is smart choice.

Stay calm and  never get panic. That is just natural to experience ups and down once you get involve in a business. We can't say that bitcoin always rising because there is a movement of price anytime. We never know when is the exact time of its getting fall or rise, we never even tell its exact price in advance. Just keep in mind that you are not the only person who trusted BTC. There are so many people waiting for it rise more so nothng to worry about.

People need to understand that the volatile nature of bitcoin is all part and parcel of holding and owning some. Panicking when the price plummets is a no no. Not saying it will increase forever, far from it. But why uy some, if you understand that it may lose value, then moan when it does?

Sometimes it's hard not to panic and keep calm. But when the price falls it's a good chance to buy Bitcoin but not to sell it. Because in a few days the price will increase again and you will be very sorry. Such volatility is normal. We have to be patient.
