We have Bitcoin Gold, B2X and now Bitcoin Silver! Money-grab or a bright future for bitcoin  ???

Maybe they should make Forking a little stricter, like getting 30+% community support before forking, losing all or part of their Bitcoin when they move over to other fork or simply put a limit on the number of allowed fork in a given period. Stuff like this can't be possible in the real world : you can't reject something and still have stake in it.
Thank Goodness I am not taking part in the free coin madness, God forbid.  I do not like them and they do not have too many values.

And like I said, this is a good sign. Once there is a massive proliferation of forks, the relevancy of Bitcoin forks will be 0. Let these people create the announcement threads and make a mockery of forks, it is a public service for Bitcoin. The more the general public learns forks are a scam unless they have unanimous support, the better.

I agree with you but practically we can't stop the forkers.Infact anyone with a little knowledge of programming can create new bitcoin fork these days.The only way we can stop these people and their forks is to have exchanges not support these forks.Bcash and B2x forks are somewhat community supported forks and all the other madness forks are just developers looking to dump their premine coins and it also damages the image of bitcoin not to mention the risk(of exposing private key/seed) one has to go to claim these shitcoins.

It is just me or forking is the new trend after ICO's are getting more and more strict? It's a way to earn money, duplicating it and probably selling the new coins to earn more money! I believe if forking gets a trend, countries will start thinking BTC is a joke, and a manipulative coin, were you can create something for your benefit in the short run!

I ask myself if these developers are really earning money with these HardForks, because for holders it's free money coming just by holding Bitcoins, I think this is the only case of Free Money that really exists.  :D

So, let them create such a "trash" altcoin extracted from bitcoin's name.

Its really funny on the amount of things we will see in this crypto current and I just wished the developers behind all these confusions can launch their project, promote it and make it better in what they are trying to correct without relying on bitcoin and leverage on the popularity bitcoin has been able to garner.

But on a serious note, I doubt if we are going to be seeing bitcoin silver anytime soon because the bitcoin core developers are now acting based on what I read on notifications on livecoin.net on the reason why they won't be supporting the fork that bitcoin core developers will be blacklisting those that do.

Guys if we will keep accepting this forks whole crypto world will collapse. We should stop endorse more forks, bitcoin has been forked 2 times already... I hope the 2x fork in November will be the last one. The 2x fork might be very bad for crypto overall, if the miners decide to turn off the power from the main bitcoin and decide to mine 2x with the majority, we may see 80% correction in bitcoin...

I totally agree with you, as I already commented on a couple of posts on this subject. It seems that after bitcoin cash some people are trying to fill up their pockets making forks but what they are going to do is to kill the goose that laid the golden eggs.

Very soon,Bitcoin diamond and Bitcoin copper may also come.Now,it has become a trend to create clones of bitcoin by hard forking and then dumping them for some quick cash.

They have to realise they just sound more like MLM companies with Silver, Gold, Platinum etc. memberships. Then again, maybe they know this deep inside and are just plugging this craze for what its worth, milking "free" and instant profits. It's an absolute mockery of crypto and Bitcoin, and gives more fodder to critics with "no intrinsic value" as their main weapon.

These forks are only making Bitcoin stronger, but I fear a little for public perception of this landgrab.

There should be no restriction, and in the future, that wouldn't be necessary. This is just the second hard fork of the original bitcoin. The first was well prepared and had serious influence on the original bitcoin. This second was just a huge hype and had little effect. People will get used to the forks in the future and will not act unnecessary when a fork comes. When the third, seventh, etc. fork will come, people will not over react them in the future...

Who is "they?" I guess that's the nature of open source software and decentralized networks: nobody can stop anyone else from forking the code and launching a new coin.

I think that the markets will eventually correct these activities. That is to say... the more Bitcoin forks/airdrops that emerge, the less investment each of them will see, since they are all competing. Eventually, instead of prices in the 0.05 BTC range (BCH) or the 0.02 BTC range (BTG), we'll see prices like 0.001 and 0.0001 per coin. People will eventually get tired of this crap.

BTC is not a PoS coin, however, because of these forks, it feels like I am minting bitcoins in a form of an altcoin. I have to agree. Somehow have the feeling that this leads to chaos. So many actually useless coins that appear on Bitcoin basis and confusion among users, this is the proof that sometimes a steady hand is needed. That is why regulation and centralization don’t necessary mean the bad situation for Bitcoin. At the moment we have the mess and it with each next fork it will be even biger. Hope market will somehow stop this and the comon sense will prevale.

I somewhere met on the forum the information that there were already 667 forks of bitcoin. Apparently, there will still be quite a lot of them and nothing can be done about it. The Crypto currency is decentralized, there is no single control center and therefore each team in its own way solves these issues. Forks are carried out for various purposes, including for the purpose of scaling the information contained. Therefore they are in any case necessary.

I do not know what's happening, why still make such Altcoins more and more users in the name of bitcoins and when it's added to the people's support at Bitcoins, That may fall in price when it happens. And I'm looking at this will be bad for the future of bitcoins that we must take action today.

Wouldn't that automatically undermine Bitcoin Silver's value by virtue of naming alone? But the thing is even if there will be a lot of forks bitcoin will still be best. at first bitcoin may be affected but in the long run these coins are going back to zero. B2X may be good but still it cannot compete with bitcoin. It may follow the path of Bitcoin cash, maybe better but the others, well i dont know. It may not get that much support from the community and besides bitcoin are more accepted worldwide than any other of these cryptocurrency, there are more businesses that accepts bitcoin than these.

These forks are diluting the Bitcoin Brand and causing a lot of confusion. One of these days, new investors will not know what the original Bitcoin was. <BTC> The other thing is, with every fork Bitcoin lose a little bit of credibility with investors, because early investors are getting free coins and they have to buy it.

Fed up with such announcements. Whenever I logged in, there is a fresh announcement of new coin's ICOs and forking of the bitcoins. These activities are decreasing the credibility of the cryptocurrencies and many of these icos are proven scams. This needs to be stop as it is damaging the bitcoin community.

I'm trying to understand about this bitcoin silver yet. I don't have any idea about this yet. I'm still relying on the different comments here. If this is for a good cause then that's amazing. Maybe it will answer the supply needed for bitcoin since demand is getting higher.

Ill try to explain it to you then. Bitcoin separation is a dumb thing to do in my opinion. This developers are trying to create new coins as of they were trying to solve the bitcoin transaction problem about its size. That is the reason why they first created the bitcoin cash and now is the bitcoin silver but I am more thinking of the different way why are they doing it

My question is for all the exchanges that do not accept the bitcoin gold, they are sitting on a boatload of bitcoin gold to do what they choose to do.

There are too many forking recently, I still haven't familiar with bitcoincash then bitcoingold coming and then there will be another forking soon, if I was still a newbie I think  I will find another coin to invest, an update is important for coin but if it keeps on forking it will crush the market and the future of the new coin is doubtful because people only going to take advantage by taking the free coin and then dump it

Bitcoin can be used by everyone, naming bitcoin is also the same. everyone can name bitcoin silver, bitcoin gold, bitcoin bronze, bitcoin platic or any name with bitcoin. No copy right of name bitcoin. Satoshi Nakamoto will charge the users of naming with " bitcoin". In fact, Where is Satoshi Nakamoto now? In the case of naming bitcoin, I don't really care about it.
