I have 15 Ethers, that I have managed to saved in the last 1 year. Where would you invest, taking a long-term point; say a timeframe of about 2 to 3 years. A moderate risk portfolio in cryptocurrency. Some advise would be nice...

It may not be what you wanted to hear, as you want to invest these ETH into something, but actually keeping them for the future wouldn't be as bad idea. I mean, people believe that it is very likely to go to at least $500 in next months. In the future there will also possibly change their system to PoS, which means that you will earn more ETH by just keeping them in a wallet. So it's also a possibly profitable way to consider not investing them anywhere. Or at least not all of them. I think 5 into a very small project would be enough to expect some results and gains in case of success.

I would keep them until the price of each one of them reaches $500 each,and then try to move those funds to bitcoin and hold them for some time until the price of bitcoin reaches more than ten thousand dollars per btc, maybe a little bit more but it depends on how the things are going for bitcoin at that time.
But i am lucky because i am not holding ethereums at the moment, and i think that this is one of the most right things to do because ethereum has been hacked today, and it is a real mess.
Just imagine about losing some of them.. it is a fortune.

Wow...if you have held ethereum that long its mean you have made huge profit by just holding that ethereum. Dont put your ethereum to shit ico. Be very carefull for that. You could try your luck to legit ico like trade.io or genesis vision. The token which goes down 90% from ico price now is atlant. U could try buying it on etherdelta if you brave enough to gamble it.

There are several good buys in alt coins and ico at the moment.  everyone seems to HODL BTC to get the forked tokens.  But it might be better to buy up cheap alt tokens today. 

FUN is only 1.5 cents a token - the ICO price was 10 cents. They burned a large number of unsold tokens and are going live Nov/Dec.
price should have a nice POP.

PPT is by far the best token to buy up. they should be live with project shortly.

I've never gotten PPT but some people told me it has real potential with UK based company. I'm not sure anyway. I wouldn't buy PPT with 15 ethereum. I would get some bitcoin to benefit from the next fork. I keep the rest of the ethereums and keep holding it as ethereum only. Altcoins are dangerous to carry now.

Well you have already hold it for 1 year and I think you have profited already just from holding. So why not just continue to hold it a little bit and stay with your success strategy? ETH is the only altcoin that is very much good for long term holding. But if you are willing to halve your ETH then I think the best altcoin is BCH or LTC in my opinion. I have a feeling that this 2 coins will be pump hard after bitcoin segwit2x activation.

My only tip - diversify.

The coins don't really matter as much as when you sell. Don't get greedy. Don't expect every single coin to blow up and take your profits if you can, when you still can and don't be the one left holding the bag.

Buy some BTC, buy some new ICOs, and buy some old coins that still got gas in them like PPC or XMR.

Well, if I had 15 ETH yesterday, I would definitely have used between 3 to 4.5 (20 to 30%) of it to further increase my non-ETH alts. I am not quite ready to further diversify as I believe my basket of alts is big enough, but I would have increased in Waves and Stratis, according to your two/three year timeframe. I think these are low risk, at worst, medium risk if things do not progress over the next two or three years.

Today it seems to have suffered in price, probably the next new hacking news. So hold until $300 recovers.

So you wanna invest all of 15 ETH? I think it's not a good choice, I suggest you to hold at least 12-13 ETH and invest only 2-3 of them. On which coin/token? It depends on you. Look the charts, research for team and project and choice the coin/token that you like the most. You may diversify and not invest 2-3 ETH on a single coin/token...

Umm there are nice coins to hold on market right now. Bitcoin's bull run helped altcoins to hit very bottom. I guess I would buy some omg and probably neo. Matchpool project is nearly at bottom too.

For a long term hold I would buy: Bancor, Blackmoon, Onion, ARK and OMG. I belive these coins will have a huge value increase in the long term. Short term you will only get frustrated, belive me I am.... But just hold for some time and they will climb high. Good luck!

If I have 15 Ether and want to invest for 2 to 3 years I choose to hold it because ether is crypto currency number 2 and good for long term, However I will use 3 ether for short-term investment in ICO or buy some tokens like OMG and BNT.

I'm just holding it as Ethereum, I don't trust new altcoins. Maybe I'm too paranoid but I don't want to miss the train for Ethereum. Bitcoin went from 160$ to 7600$, Ethereum is very likely to make similar move. I would hold my Ethereum until I see that big rally.

I've bought a lot of the lisk at 0,2 and this time it's worth $5 each.

My personal strategy is to hold 5-6 of the more well-known, long established coins like ETH, Dash, Zcash, Monero, BTC, and LTC.

Beyond that I'm only investing in projects where I know someone personally, or where I see that the token is not simply grafted onto a shit business plan. Especially if the token has value sources that are relatively stable, I will consider holding it.

It's better if some of this coin are used to buy bitcoin, because holding a lot of ethereum is too much risky. Since this altcoin are starting to fall down their price in the crypto currency market. Therefore if you want to invest it into other altcoins there's a lot of trusted coins in the market like bitcoin cash, bitcoin gold, waves and so on.
These are good examples of coins that they want to hold in the future, definitely I have some numbers of these coin and I still holding it because I know that some of this day value of these coin are incredibly increasing.

I would definitely plan on holding on to that ethereum. I don't know of any altcoin that is as promising, stable and established as ethereum. I hold some ethereum as well and have no plans of doing anything with it in the near future other than keeping it in my wallet. Good luck on your endeavors!

Look not just for a good ICO, but for a project that is really feasible in the real world. Choose a project that is back-up by stable, "real" companies.

I think I will keep that 15th until next year and add some more capital and invest in altcoin or bitcoin because eth is a good coin and a lot of supporters if keep it you will have a lot of money in the next year

That is a good coin to hold, I will do nothing except hold them since the earnings you are going to get are very good, however if you want to take some risks then you could keep half and then invest the other half in icos that way if you are able to guess correctly which ico is going to skyrocket you are going to make a lot of money.

Honestly I would keep them and second to that I would diversify across many coins, some I'd be interested in would be FUN (really quite cheap right now), KNC (expect the price to pump in the coming months once their exchange launches), SALT, NEO

Actually, you can hold all your 15 Ethers and you will surely end up happy with what it will give you in the next 2 to 3 years. I do not know if you are holding some other coins with you right now. But if you don't and you want to diversify your portfolio then you can keep the 5 Ethers with you and then invest the rest with ETC, Waves, XVG, XRP, NEM, BAT, MCO, and XMR. It is your choice how to divide them properly.

If I'm given a chance to have 15 ether,  I will save it and sell it after the right time that it hits the huge value so that I can invest it in more productive way. Considering the time frame from when I am holding it is the issue about the security of it. We must learn how to take risk  because a good business man knows how to take both positive and negative outcome. At the end of the day there will be two possible results, either you used 15 ether into a productive way or you lose 15 ether without any output. Sometimes we look into the amount or value, yes it is both important but how you mange it well is the  biggest battle that we must achieved and succeeded.

I think you should not invest those ETH. Eth can price more profit for you next year. You dont have to do anything.

Hold majority in ETH, 50-60%, and then put the rest into REQ, IOTA, Waves, and NEO. I believe that would probably pay off very well for you, especially REQ. Obviously please do the research on these yourself.

I was yesterday in the same situation and because of the latest ethereum scandal I have decided to sell and go with other projects. Made a lucky punch with over 20% gain the last 24h (not realized yet).
As long as there is no solution to these frozen 1.500.000 millions USD valued ethereum I stay away from my absoletly adored ethereum.

congrats for generating upto 15 ethereum and I think the right place to invest your earned is to still keep holding 50% of your coins in ethereum and 20$ in good coins like litecoin and stratis. The remaining 30% should be hold in bitcoin. If you can get investment in this four foregoing, you will be happy you take this kind business decisions in three to four years to come.

if i have that amount of etherium then i would buy some promising altcoins, mostly the top ones like waves,strats,lisk then ill convert the other half to bitcoin , id say 5 ethers go to bitcoin then the other 5 would be on altcoins and the rest will be on etherium itself. thats how i manage that 15 ethers.

If I have 15 ETH, I will try to divide it to invest in different kind of coins. I will invest some of it to BCH which I think a good cryptocurrency which has a good rate. I will also invest some to BTC because BTC has increased a lot and I am hoping that it will increase more. The rest, I will invest it to ETH because for me ETH is still competitive compared to other cryptocurrencies. These are the cryptocurrencies that I will going to invest if I have 15 ETH.

I would keep that 15 Ether and sit on it.. what you can do is maybe sell a portion of them and diversify your portfolio, you can sell maybe five ether and exchange them for BTC, but whatever you do, don't liquidate your holding (to fiat), be sure to be invested in one coin or another because the entire market is starting to grow now and we'll be seeing many participants entering in the market, from institutional investors to retail consumers. It's going to be massive and you will want to be invested during that time because it's the best way to make a living out of cryptos at the moment. Forget the 8 to 5 job patterns, just invest money from you salary to buy crypto's and you'll be golden in a couple of years.

You could invest them in 3 different crypto investment fund at your choice, so you would even get some dividend out of it.

I agree with you that one of the currencies that tends to increase the value is ethereum, I would divide it into 3 parts, one part in eth the other in btc and the last one in altcoins, having a greater probabilidsde of financial gains for the future.

Ethereum coin is one of favorite coin and for sure it will increase the price soon but you need to wait few years and for sure you will be happy to the result. I think better convert them into Bitcoin because now the price of Bitcoin is kept reducing in the market. So you can make more profit when you convert them to Bitcoin, very soon the price of Bitcoin will increase in the market.

You can keep/hold the 70% and invest the rest. As to what coins to invest, I think it's good to have those coins with masternodes or POS. But then again, not all are good. You just have to do your own research which one has the better or best use case.

Find an undervalued coin on etherdelta. I invested in CAG as they should release their wallet and debit cards in December.

Id rather hold ethereum and invest in bitcoin. Because both are good for hodling even long term investment. Also, profitable cryptocurrency for sure we can earn money.

If I have that amount of Ethereum, I will just hold them on my wallet because I can that there's a future with ETH in the next years but regarding your question if I will invest to a project, I'll do it in Electroneum for the past week I saw that they have a big issue regarding their wallet but what I like the most about this project is that the community is very supportive and the team works hard and update the investors from time to time.

2-3 ETH investment is too small to make a significant change in your general bankroll. Even if you can find 10x coin that would be 20-30 ETH, so that's very low profit for long term.

If you are already keeping that 15ETH for a year now. How about keep it that way. Reinvesting it to other growing altcoins may fail and might lose the value of your ETH, so better stick to it by HODL it. Keep your private key safe, ETH might grew into several hundred dollars in the future.

By my own way and analyzing what is the possible thatvyou have so you can go with this to hold ETH fpr long term and some of your money in other altcoins don't all in on ETH only. ETH is for long term and you can get profit on it as i see and heard it will start the rising this coming weeks and a possible max or peak is 0.07-0.08eth

Well, what NOT to invest in would be a starter... Monero is one I would not invest in. Litecoin either. Probably DASH, XVG, OMG.

If you have Ethereum then you could invest in pretty much any ICO that is on here immediately. There is not much money to be made from investing in other coins though.

ETH is really doing well for itself at the moment and I won’t be surprised if it hits a new ATH soon. However, with the news going on with waves, it would not really be a bad idea diversifying one's portfolio into wave right now, as there is so much development going on that can really give it a very bright future for the coin and the investors.

That would be a huge gamble because a token dropping that bad really does not tell great on the project. However, if he can do some good research on the coin and if it really has some good prospect, he can buy really but I won't advise that as it would end up tying his funds for long. There are so many other altcoins with huge prospects to buy rather than investing in a shitty coin.

Hold 15 Eth for 1-2 years is good move. Eth is really good coin and it can bring profit more than trading or invest anywhere else.

Invest in ICO projects and you should look into potential ICO projects and you could soon get a good return on this investment. I think everyone likes to invest in ICOs because it is very profitable but the risk is very high

If I had 15 Ethereum I would buy bitcoin with 5 ether right now directly. I would share other ethereum to different coins like deeponion, iota, dash and neo. I believe all these coins.

Look at the volume, BTC is basically day-trader's choice since November.
Unless you are day-trader, betting on BTC now is like playing Russian Roulette.

That is not a bad strategy but the risk of your investment will depend largely of how much money you have allocated to the safe coins and to the risky coins if most of your money is in the most well known coins then the risk is low but if most of your money is in icos then your risk is higher.

There is many coin can make 5x-10x in 3-4 months.So if you put your money on ether , yeah it is not bad , it is a safe invesment but, at the short term you, there will be no 2-3x!So you need to decide this!

After reading over the last 2 pages, people are calling ETH "safe," that's comforting I guess.  In the last 6 months, the crypto market made mainstream news (CNBC), so yeah that reaffirms "safe" notion.  Yet, I'm a bit skeptic as we haven't really hit Main st. yet - the average person.  So, I'd hold 80% ETH and dabble in other Alt coins.

But that will be better to invest it into another project, I was putting a lot of my ethereum into some altcoin which they are all already traded below the ico price and in this time my investment already worth more than 3x and that can be considered as another good way if you are investing your money through the new promising coin.

you can consider spending about half of them, so 7.5 ETH is ICO's. A good way to earn money and multiple your returns nowadays is investing in ICO's, the price during an ICO is the lowest possible you can usually buy in the market (many times the coin loses value once it's listed, but most of the times it increases) and by doing that you are guaranteed to get the best price possible for your investment. The problem with that is that you have to find a coin and project that is actually for real, and not just another coin that will scam you, unfortunately the market is filled with such coins and most of them are trying to rip-off investors. Make sure when investing that 7.5 ETH to make your due diligence and understand what the project is about and whether it's realistic for its targets to be reached.

Split it between bitcoin, deeponion and iota or atleast that's what i would do.

If you arent sure on your decision on choosing up coins then i would suggest better to hold it off your 15 ether since it do really have the potential to rise up its price in future years to come.Diversification is always been suggested but would really require knowledge and skills for you to extent your possible profitability on the coins that you are holding. If you can see some opportunity or see potential altcoins then its not bad to get some amounts on your stash and make some investments. The more the better.

I wouldnt exchange all of those ethereums. I would hold 8 of them and invest to some other altcoins with 7 Ethereum. Waves, iota, oax, monetha are good choices nowaday because they are still quite cheap to buy  ;)

Diversifying it to good coins will brings you a good profit but I'll go with coins that stabilize itself in the market and can give a sure profit and that's no other than bitcoin. Split it in half, half for bitcoin and hold the remaining eth. With the bitcoin spike now there's no need to have a second thought for not investing it even in short or in long term.

That would depend on when you got your ETH if you got it before all this growth then that may be a good idea but if you bought ETH at the top of the ETH bubble then you will be losing money so I think the best strategy will be simply to hold that ETH for some time.

Ethereum also makes sense. Short-Medium-Long term ETH will always win.

If you really want to, try to invest a little in other ICO's, i recommend btc. It still depends on you but if it were me i'll give it a try, you never know what it might result in to, it could also go to better or worse, its up to you. For the safest way for me i'll keep on holding on to it for a couple more years until to the time that you really need to take it, because in long term i dont think ETH will sink, its one of the best ICO's too.

Invest in a quality ico project, and then hold it for 2-3 years. You should be able to reach 5-10x. There are many similar examples, such as iota, stratis. The premise is to buy a coin and then hold it long term, can you do that?

Today I have invested in wachain, smartmesh, which I have invested in 10 and 20 eth respectively. I am very optimistic about the current craze of ico, and I believe that ico should be able to make money.

If I were you I will wait, deeponion seems like a project that could become important in the future, but since almost all the coins are going to be given to the people that participated in the signature campaign then I think the price is going to crash in the future, that would be the perfect moment to buy.

If you have managed to keep your 15 ETH for a span of 1 year, then you HODL it for good. That's cool! And considering that you have kept it until today and with ETH's market price is rising, then why not just keep it there for 2-3 years? As speculated, ETH's market price will boom anytime soon. Eth is the next digital coin sitting behind Btc. So if you're really planning to leave ETH, it would be nice if you go for higher digital coin than ETH.

HODL some and invest some more in the biggest coins, NEO, IOTA, ZEC
 and other big ones there are so MANY but be careful nobody knows where the market will go so maybe you will lose or win some money dont know for sure

To be honest i would have held those 15 Eth because i think it will do 5x atleast within this year, so no need to buy anything else, it will be enough for me.

If you're looking for long-term I think EOS and IOTA will do well. See it for yourself, really good projects.

Diversify is the key if you have 15 eth. Invest them in good ICO's or hold them and wait till the value increases, you can also do trading or invest them in a traditional business. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

If I have 15 Eth, then I will invest 50% into Bitcoin Cash, surely you know if you see the Bitcoin Cash cryptococcal sequence is the right choice for long term investment. Although there are many coins but it is better to choose a guaranteed coin for the future to avoid the highest risk.

If i have 15 ether i will just keep it in my wallet. I will not invest it to any other altcoins. Ether is very promising and it keeps on getting higher and higher as of this day.

I would keep 10 ETH & invest 5 ETH in PRL while it is still very low & wait until the end of 2018.

$15k is a good budget for investing if you choose the right coins. In my opinion, IOTA, Cardano, PKT, Bitclave and TIO is a good portfolio for you. I believe you can get profit if choosing them

nice line up of coins you got there brother, i also have some of the coins you mention although i still need to invest more on some other coins like bitcoin if a have 15 ethers because bitcoin is still the best for investments whether short or for long term. i then leave some ethers in on my etherium wallet in order for me to trade and exchange some of my alttcoins and tokens.  overall i still prefer trading when compared to investing because trading is still the best when it comes to earning a profit.
