Since the price has been bouncing around 7,000 to 7,600 I think the price will go down to about 6,500 in a few days.

Usually when we stop seeing huge price spikes upwards within a 24 hour period it means the whales have already bought in and are slowly selling their coins.

They start pulling their buy orders out and let the price fall because the buy walls aren't there any more to stop if from going down slowly. Eventually it triggers the bots who auto sell at a certain price.

I think $8000 will be easy to get there. Now the market will hold in bitcoin, at least in the month before the end of the fork, people will hold bitcoin. Everyone wants free candy!

Actually, the OP giving a signal for a certain dump will occur since hard fork will end soon and those people that only bought BTC for free coins when split will already sell their BTC because they are already on profit considering the high price of BTC at this moment, But I'm not saying that you must sell now, But expect sooner or later that dump will happened on BTC. It's up to you if you want to hold or sell.  ::)

I think the OP is right, it's the time to sell BTC.

You can't make sure it's resistance point or a barrier for bitcoin. People in the past, told the same thing for 3k-4k-5k-6k-7k levels too, but bitcoin poped those so called barriers within hours.

yes, I agree with you, it's time to sell bitcoin before it comes fork, because if it sells after fork the possibility of bitcoin price will go down and will go back up in a long time.

Ahh..if ppl were able to predict BTC, trend, direction, they’d be super rich.. the truth is none can predict that.. what ppl can try to do is convince noobs to dump BTC so they can grab it at cheaper price..it’s an old trick that experienced traders use to grab some cheap coins

Last hardfork went very well for me!

I would actually do the opposite. I would buy now to get more of that forked coin, transfer that forked coin over to bitcoin right after the fork and sell sell sell the forked coin as soon as possible. It gives you a chance of picking up that extra bitcoin and then converting before any kind of major drop. Will end up with you coming out positive. It honestly doesn't make sense to sell right now unless you don't plan on doing anything with the forked coin.

^ I don't think we are on the same boat, as far as i know, there will be no FORKED COINS or 1 BTC- 1 B2X I am not sure either, i just know that exchanges will pick what chain and coin would be called the Bitcoin, am i right? but as of now, I am thinking of sending my bitcoin to web wallets to exchange it to fiat.

I think the best way is to withdraw only 30 - 50 % of your portfolio and leave the remaining to purchase some good altcoins.

We all know that when bitcoin price is on correction alts are pumping up. Just select a stable altcoin.

Interesting. I was under the impression that there would be a forked coin that exchanges would allow onto their systems. It seems like in that case it would definitely make sense to sell sometime around now as we will probably still see some kind of drop after this bubble. I hate that there is so little information available about these forks. Seems like more of an attack on bitcoin than anything else.

I agree with OP for most of the part, but I don't want to sell BTC just yet because of the upcoming fork. Why would anyone sell right before the fork, IMO selling right after the fork makes a lot more sense.

I suggest to to those people have bitcoin in their wallet right now it's better if you hold your bitcoin even they have fork because even if bitcoin price decrease for sure it will increase again after few days or it will recover again. Dont be panic . Keep buying bitcoin with your extra money and for sure you will earn a lot of profit in the future.

Good advice. Though i can see that after this current dip the price will likely head upwards again before a huge dump that drives price downwards. Doesn't really hurt to have some BTC remaining in your portfolio since in my opinion BTC will likely head up to $10k this year.

Bitcoin price is unpredictable and the price of Bitcoin price increases suddenly during previous forks also. So I would not suggest people to sell them right now, after fork there are chances the price of Bitcoin will reach even higher value.

It's hard to predict when the price of Bitcoin will rise and when it will decrease. If anyone buys Bitcoin at a low price then he will be able to sell it now. i think if you want to sell bitcoin, you can do it yesterday because i think the lower price is happen yesterday when the price reach $69xx and now the price is trying to increase back although there is possibility for the price to gets down again in next week. we don't know what will happen if the fork is coming and sometimes we are missed to used our strategy to buy or to sell. but if we can following the trend from the markets, then i think we can make important decision to sell now or to buy again now.

Btc is back to 7400$ again. I don't think people are thinking of selling it now. They at least thinking hold their bitcoin until the upcoming fork.

We are glad, it seems that segwit2x is not very influential, luckily I still keep my bitcoin so I still get a huge profit because now the price is past $ 7500 and it looks like next week the price will reach $ 8000.

I do think we'll see a sell-off in a few days. This fork is different from the bitcoincash one in that there is no emergency difficulty adjustment, so the chain teh miners choose will be the winner and the other chain will struggle badly to get any blocks mined at all.

It's looking like a double top around $7500. I don't think we will go past $8000. Maybe come close but considering it takes some time for people to get money in or to receive BTC from say Coinbase, most may not be buying a few days before the fork unless they have money in already.

If majority are already thinking about selling it post fork, some whales may play safe and sell a bit earlier.

IMO the price is too high already, I'm afraid it might pop down so suddenly anytime soon. While that's the worst case, it's definitely possible. Hard to know if it's still natural demand or just people panic buying that's causing this.

How can you say that S2X doesn't have much importance? It's by far the most important event of the last years, but yet you fail to understand this. This says a lot about what kind of people we have to deal with here.

And how exactly is the price going up $500 (from $7500 to $8000) considered to be a huge profit? Do you even have a whole Bitcoin? If not, then the profits you'll potentially be making will be far lower than $500.

Instead of writing S2X off so easily, just wait for the fork to take place this month, and then start talking. Instead of the "huge" profit you assume to get, you'll be dealing with a HUGE downward movement.

Nice advice but what are your basic reasons why we should sell our holding now? I think there should be technical reason why corrections should take place in the first place. The bitcoin's price has been trending within  $6985 and $7580 for the past three days and  since it did not break the either I will expect us to wait until there is a break out either upward or downward. Don't just sell because price has over go up and vice vasal and don't just buy because price is going down but get reason why you are buying.

How sure are you? Also, it will stoll depend to the holders whether they will sell it or not. Good advice still, But I highly doubt that they will sell it because they are already expecting that the market value will be more expensive after the hardfork. These assumptions are what making them to hold their Bitcoin more.

Sorry but I am not agree that it is now the right time to buy bitcoin. Though it is currently in a higher price but still keep my bitcoin in my wallet and wait for much higher price before to sell it. I believe that bitcoin has a potential and can survive many more years to go and can reach more than the price today. For me, it doesn't need to sell if I don't need cash. I rather keep it in my wallet and used it for future investment.

Holding is actually giving some good returns. It has crossed 7500$ already and moving upwards making some new high in this week is possible. I think the fall if it happens will be big unless people or some big players buy more before the fork take place will yield more benefits to all the investors in their coins and keep holding them.

I wouldn't risk shorting bitcoin, there's too much momentum right now, it's better to stay away from trying to make short term gains, you'll probably get REKT, and just keep holding.

well, selling bitcoin is currently very profitable, and I think it would be very dangerous if bitcoin prices drop in drastically. So, selling some of the bitcoin you have may be a very good decision.

OP, we are all aware that there might be a dump around the time of the fork, most of us have been around here long enough to have strategies in place.

By the way after a short period of time after BCH went live the Bitcoin price increased by a substantial amount so HODLING is as good as trying to be clever trading around the time of a fork.

Why to sell? if the price just fall then fall you don't need to make panic of the people to sell their bitcoins let them decide for their own as i see the coinmarketcap will increase the price of bitcoin as the moment the price is increase as i can see in the graph and yet it will reach 8000 i don't say beleived me but i can see the real potential in it. Just hold and wait for the big suprises of bitcoin.

I think you made a little mistake with your advice because price is just go above 7700$ and this is pretty close to 8000$.Since we have a week more or less before next fork, 300$ to the next level of 8k$ is very close.The price seems to have not reached the upper limit yet and if you sell these days and not have chance to buy back at lower price you'll lose the opportunity for free coins after fork.In general it is not a good time to sell,it is better to hold and wait for the outcome of hard fork.

I think its strange that newbie accounts are all suddenly telling us to sell our bitcoin. Don't sell any until the hard fork obviously. Why are those wannabes always looking at technical analysis? This is BITCOIN. This is not like your regular stocks or commodities.

No way. People are dumping now because they realize that there won't be any chances of getting a "forked coin" to sell later for more btc and then sell their bitcoin. Now, people are dumping right now, so the nice little bubble we were in is gone. We should be seeing a strong drop today that may be over-come in the next 2-3 weeks. I don't think we will have any gains today. Current all time high is somewhere between 7,800 and 7,900 and it will take some time before we can get there.

I'm not interested to selling btc now. The Fork isn't finished yet, selling now only makes me earn money from uncertain conditions. Even, if bitcoin drop after fork i am never regret. Keep optimistic like other holders.

There is no fork. The drop that you're talking about is taking place right now. If you're holding long term, however, you should be fine. If you were planning on selling right after the fork to get more money, you're probably at a loss right now depending on when you picked up the coin.

I think selling your bitcoin now, is not a good idea, since there is no fork, the market will go into correction and the value will drop and another sale will be going on, unless they reschedule the fork in the coming days, but as of now a correction is on the way, but it will be healthy, since the fork was hyped, and there is still an upcoming Bitcoin silver, which may again contribute to althe rise of the value of bitcoin, but if you think you're ok with what you've gain already, there is no stopping you from selling,  but make sure that you still have left for your investment.

I think it is early to predict that bitcoin value will go down in a couple of days. The price of bitcoin is going up each day, so for me, selling of bitcoin today is not a good idea.

Basis, proofs, evidence for this please ? Why should we beleive in you? Just because you say so? I do not want to argue with you or in anyone I just to know why. You just came and say that without any reason. Csn't you make it more clear with us so that we can make our move if we are going to sell bitcoin or not. I do not ignore what you say since I open every possibility in bitcoin price. Previously bitcoin pump and pump and pump. So I think maybe that pumping time will end and time of drops will hit bitcoin but I do not know when it will going to happen so maybe this is the sign but I just want to make it more clear, why ?

I don't think to sell at the current price,thank you for your input because I was waiting for a hard fork on the 16th of this month.Well why not just for a few more days wait not long until a month,this is my decision what happened 16th it was a surprise for me.

the value of bitcoin is slightly going down already because someone said that there will no forks will occur or is it suspended therefore as a result most people now are started to sell off their bitcoins because theres no assurance or guarantee that they can get their promised forked coins although i think there were still some are waiting for further announcement and clarifications for this news.

I am gonna sell my bitcoin because I believe with the news that segwit will be cancelled the price will dump which will lead to increase of altcoins.
It's better to act this early because bitcoin is just overvalued, let's keep buying altcoins who are still cheap right now.

I agree that people won't sell their holding at an earlier stage of time now, because we its guaranteed that the value will surge high in the next few months maybe at February next year. Although its predicted to rise higher not so specific but it's certain to happen due to rising price lately. More investors will invest now and demand will increase everyday.

The price has actually gone up to around $7700 today, but then it started to instacrash and it's now down around $500 from the all tim ehigh. Still though you would have profited from just holding BTC from your time of post.

I believe that price in the medium term will continue to go up, though a correction will probably happen in the short term to potentially drop prices down to a more acceptable buying level of $6000-6500 per coin.

the reason people buying bitcoins recently is to hodl and get the forked coins then sell for profit
if you notice in the last few months, bitcoin price is affected by fork news, fud and such
and not because of significant technology improvements nor more applied usage

I think it would be a better idea to hold Bitcoin more and invest to it at this moment. Indeed, there'll be a hardfork in this month and it might be the biggest factor for the value of bitcoin to be more expensive especially if it will be as successful as the recent one and if the outcome will be the same. But i aldo thank you for your kind advice. i will still hold my Bitcoin and see what will happen after the fork.

Well for me if its better idea to sell, then do it so that you can have the profit in your hands. But if you think it's worth to reach at $8000 this month, maybe you can have to control your emotions and keep waiting until it's possible to happen. Most users really had an unpredictable mindset and eventually changes their ideas on how to handle emotions and that's right regrets will follow in the feature upon noticing price reached that expensive.

Thank you in advance for your advice, this is quite helpful. Indeed seems that was true and the price can not reach at $8000, I think it's a pretty quite good decision to sell it, I also had time to sell some bitcoin that I have on that date.. but not all.
By the way regardless of that, it doesn't mean that bitcoin price will continue to decline thereafter, I still believe the price can still have a moving towards higher direction in a certain time period and I think there are still many holders that keep holding till the price can reach a desired target.

There isn't going to be an announcement - it was all a rumour. Amazon has it's own altcoin and will likely push that instead of adopting bitcoin.

It's the nature of human beings. Each and every one has the greedy mind and very few have a satisfied mind. With bitcoin expecting further growth should not be termed to be greed, because with investment always growth is the expectation. Same is the one that's expected with bitcoin as an asset.

There is hardly any difference between fiat currency and the altcoin which is proposed by Amazon. There is no concept of limited supply and no one can mine the coins with the exception of Amazon Corp. It is never going to overtake Bitcoin, even if Amazon offers 10% or 15% discount on shopping with this coin.

If you want to sell bitcoin in case to avoid price drop significantly, it seems will not happen in the near future, look at current market price, bitcoin always recover and keep increasing in the end of the day. I say; just sell small portion of bitcoin if you need it, because bitcoin potential, could reach $15K in the next year.

Already everyone ran to follow your advice. You think it's so easy to confuse people or frighten them so that you then come and buy at a low price. it will not turn out after the fall again will be a spurt up and people have predicted and expect this moment, and therefore wait.

 Upcoming Fork is cancelled, no more free forked coin. whales might liquidate their bitcoins and switch to altcoins.


Technically -

BTCUSD created  double top on H4 Timeframe and a Doji candle. This is a sign of price reversal but too early .

I've always read more about this price correction lately in this forum and wonder where did they get this information but i dont know if this was just a black propaganda to reduce the price of bitcoin specially now that the fork was postponed i think more of this will going to appear soon.

You can only sell now if you bought your bitcoin less than $6500 and wait for another deep if serious deep will ever happen. Im pertaining for current btc price movement. It is much more practical if we sell bitcoin during price correction and buy it again at the bottom.

The fork Segwit2x has been cancelled and there are no news or update when will it be implement or will it be ever be implemented. It is always good to hodl but keep it in mind that cash out at certain price spikes for an easy profit.

To reach $8000 we need a pump from the dip, so no need to worry the price will climb soon after a little downfall. I think it will going to be around $6500 before the next pump, selling your BTC now is quite a bad idea.

It's a healthy correction if ever bitcoins price would decrease now, I wouldn't sell my bitcoin even if it's halving because it'll make me gain more profits by then. I'd rather hold my bitcoins more when its price goes down because I know for sure it will increase back its price again before the year ends and reach a new ath.

I am not willing to sell bitcoin just i bought a few days ago. Optimistic to continue to hold, I am sure can achieve bigger profit than today.

Exactly no one will know, bitcoin price will rising again. I think bitcoin will be back again even price now is below $7000 we feel it can recover. The best time to buy when its dip and wait for the value to increase bitcoin will go to the moon soon.

Just look at Jamie Dimon statement, " Bitcoin is a fraud". the btc price was 4800 back then drops to 3,200 because of his statement.

If you're not selling your Bitcoin a day ago or two,
it would be better for you to hold it because there will be another run in couple weeks or around that.
at least we need to see some correction and stabilize ourself before the run.
but bear it in your mind,right now BCH pumping so hard without a reason(in my opinion).

I don't think any serious trader or anyone with bitcoin markets knowledge expected the price to stay at almost 8k. It was obvious that eventually it would drop whether SW2x was implemented or not. It's still very very high, 6500$ is insane considering it was 1k on Jan 1 of 2017.

You could have sold it, but i will keep mine i believe that bitcoin will go over $10000. My friends also believe that we are sometimes discussing the price of bitcoin and other coins.

Bitcoin is now dropping a lot i think it will even drop more. Some people will sell it but the smart ones will keep it. I saw today at coinmarket that nearly every coin is now dropping so this is the time to buy some new coins. Thats what I will do today.

Yes, the current price of bitcoin decreases and maybe now is the right time to buy bitcoin as a good investment for short or long term, and if we believe in mechanism of bitcoin and unstable price movements of course with decline in bitcoin prices now provide an opportunity for us to invest in bitcoin, but it certainly requires patience in bitcoin investment because it takes time to be able to get benefits that match our expectations.

I am so devastated now knowing the value of Bitcoins significantly dropped from $7,700 down to $6,300 in just a matter of hours. I should have listened to my gut feeling when I thought of converting my Bitcoins to fiat when it reached sky high $7,700. I was greedy, and now I learned my lesson. Never sell anything at a loss,if you had the opportunity to book some profit then you might get out and enter at a later time because this correction was inevitable because of the rally we had for quite some time,it might bounce back at a later time but a smart trader would sell off during a correction at a good price and enter when it touches the bottom there by increasing your profit.

so whoever followed OP advice would've made some gain (in BTC) now if they re-enter (re-buy BTC)
but I think the price may go down even more below $6000, maybe back to around $5500

that OP of that thread predicted BTC will be corrected as low as $2000  :o
based on the history in 2013, from $100 to $1000 then settled around $200
so it may repeat itself in 2017, from $600 to $6000 then dropped to $1200~$2000
though we've hit highest $7600 (right?) yesterday or a day before

What kind of analysis are you using? Did you came here from future? You got an impressive tips before but the bad thing is that I did never listened to you upon reading this thread. But anyway good to those who did followed your advise and especially you for sure you did made a great gain on this correction together with the pump of bitcoin cash. Had you bought some BCH too?

It does not need tips or a person from the future, the correction is expected, crypto markets are based on news and rumors, look how they are pumping BCH alongside with hyping campaign.

It is impossible to know precisely what it is going to happen and when but we have an idea of what it is going to happen, we know that the correction is going to keep going for some time and then bitcoin is going to finally find its price and then bitcoin is going to keep going up as always.

I'm just happy to have sold ALL my coins at that time  :D

Although, I believe this just temporary due to b2x suspended to be implemented but it turns out some of them still want to continue 2x hard fork as an unknown software developer called "Bitpico" who stated the Segwit2x fork will still happen on November 15 as intended even if it's mean create an altcoin such as BCH.  And then, a new website called Bitcoin2x.org appears after Bitpico’s threats and stated:We have decided to continue with the fork as planned. We will not allow the destiny of Bitcoin to be controlled by six individuals.
Meanwhile Bitcoin network keep getting spam transactions that create a chance for BCH to gain more value, more than $1370 few hours ago, seems people have allocated their funds from bitcoin to bitcoin cash.

Well you didn't get my point of admiring his speculation. There are people here that did speculated almost the same thing with the guy that predicted the future of alt coin. I know he's not from the future but such speculations like this that before the hype seems to be impressive. Maybe he gets a good signal from reliable source so he knew it that bitcoin will dump and BCH will pump.

The bitcoin has been drops the value from its peak price. Yes exactly, there are many things would be possibly happen this month of november and it is hard to predict. Because price swing fast to decrease and increase so probably bitcoin will rise for sure.

This happened a lot before, a lot of people dumped their bitcoin because there was an announcement that segwit2x was called off. I will keep holding on my bitcoin and will not be part of the people who are dumping their bitcoin. This already happened in the recent years, so I guess I will just keep on trusting and I will be holding my bitcoin.

You must be among the traders that sell with panic, or you are among the people who gives false news the creates room for panic. If the price of bitcoin should drop, before the fork, then means after the fork the price will rise up again and to those who where strong enough to hold will have to smile at the end of it all.

Exactly holding bitcoins for long term is the key to success and if you sell now then you will regret in future when you will see the best price of bitcoins so sell it only if you are in need of money and if not then better to hold it longer as price of bitcoin is expected to reach to the moon in future and at that time if you don't have enough bitcoins in you wallet then you will curse yourself for not saving till the right time.

It won't drop to lower $5000, i think so. I did not listen to the advice to sell bitcoin when it was $7000+, but okay, still buy more and keep going for next years.

I think bitcoin don’t accept any panic in selling or in buying so we need to play here very carefully because it’s something about money and it always need attention and especially when you are doing a business here so always check the price first and the take a decision so I think if the price is good then sell your bitcoin and take profit.

Yeah right mate who sold their coin at 7.6 k they have another chance to buy more coins and this situation is very benefiting to them and most probably selling at this moment will not bring so much profit because btc prices are bit down and if you are aiming to achieve big then hold your coin for some days and then prices will get pump and sell at that moment btc bless you more if you will keep patience and calmness.

This closely happen. Bitcoin's market value fell recently but those who held and still holding their Bitcoin will benefit eventually. Bitcoin's market value is now recovering and it is indeed great to know. For the long run, the HOLDERS will earn huge profit since backdrops such as this, is just part of its volatility. We should hold and invest more than to sell at this price.

If your a short term investors, it is advisable for you to get your cash out. Bitcoin will technically go down in few days. But will go back again once FUD was settled. There is no need to cause this panic, its normal for bitcoin to go up and down because its volatile. But one thing is for sure, there is no way bitcoin will reach 8000$ mark and we could expect even more in the next months. So better buy and hold bitcoin now, look at the larger picture and look what future will look like.
