Title: Re: Activity Post by: dogie on June 18, 2013, 07:36:47 PM Look left.
I have high posts but low activity :/ Title: Re: Activity Post by: DiamondCardz on June 18, 2013, 07:40:00 PM It's alright. Going to assume it uses your posts and time logged in to determine it.
Title: Re: Activity Post by: bitzox on June 18, 2013, 07:44:13 PM I'm really tempted to just +1 this topic but given all the talk about banning people for spamming +1 and such I figure I should put in a little more effort ;)
I assume that it has something to do with a combination of time logged, posts per hour, and hopefully length of posts. If it doesn't include length of post its just encouraging spam... In any case I doubt the mods will tell us anything about the algorithm. The more spammers know the easier it is for them to manipulate it. I'll make a random stab and say it starts counting your posts at the beginning of the month, and adds maybe 1 point for every hour on, but that's about as good as my guess will get. Transisto's is the highest so far. EDIT: I think the registration date plays a some role. Bruno (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=24792) and I both have 742. Activity = number of days since your registration or a number of your posts if it's lower than that previous number. Could as well just stated "registered 31/10/12" under your avatar The term itself is misleading already, it has very little to do with activity. Of it would count in time logged in, or #posts in correlation to time spent logged in, or time logged vs date registered = then we could call it activity.
