I think this an April fools joke from BFL which just arrived.

No, the April Fools joke from BFL is not scheduled to ship until next week  Cheesy

It's ok, they are issuing joke credits.

Maybe this is a response to all the recent account trading. Post count means nothing if your account has been sold, but activity can reflect whether your account is "real" or not.

people would never migrate leaving their trusted accounts and everything, so that's not an option

it's an established monopoly for sure

Migration is pretty easy. Copy and paste the entire public database to a new forum software, allow people to "claim" their accounts by proving ownership over here with a code in PM. Pretty simple really.

I'm going to guess that it's a formula that theymos will tell us about later.

Edit:
I'm winning so far with 532
Ha, I'm a super active MF! Whatever that means Huh

It definitely doesn't have to do with post count alone. I'd say registration date and posting habits play a significant role.

Still around.

That'd also be true for everyone on SilkRoad.

I think you're onto something; it's possible activity is a direct representation of how many days someone has been active, where you get a point for each day you're online.

Maybe my posts are deemed "untrustworthy".

At least on the bright side, mine is my old area code.

Wow, this is weird. I wonder if posts are time-weighted or bytes-weighted, and if time logged in plays a part. Maybe theymos won't tell us until someone figures it out  Grin

Easy way to figure out.

I'm gonna start deleting majorly long posts like those garbage "build a quite pyramid" ones.

edit; here goes nothing. 574 activity, now deleting a pyramid quote.

edit2: nope, didn't change shit.

edit3: still deleting huge posts of nonsense, not seeming to affect score at all.

edit4: I'm feeling a bit weird and tingly in deleting these posts. I'm starting to think faster.

edit5: I suddenly understand Calculus. Apparently the effects of removing shitposts have increased my IQ.

Redaction: It occurred to me that my presence is no longer necessary here as my new time travel machine requires my undivided attention. Adu.

I log in religiously every day; I spend most evenings dipping in and out of reading here and always have a tab open.

I seem to post in bursts, either when something interests me or I have some transaction to arrange.

I like that it adds weight to when you joined as we have clearly seen people pumping up their posts just to reach a higher tier even if this means some people go down a notch (myself included).

Thanks, now I don't have to try and figure it out.  I was going to use you as an example (we both have very close registration dates and post count).

I miss post counts. Activity is fine and all, but I still want to see post counts without having to click on the user's name.
