Can you consider buying BCH? Ha ha.
In any case, I refuse to admit that BCH's status is legal and that BCH is just a altcoin, that's all. Sticking to BTC is still what I should do.

The fork was estimated to happen on 13th november but the developers team have already decided to cancel the segwit2x hard fork.
May be the developers are going to decide  new date for sevwit2x in the coming months.
For now, you can be sure about it and choose a right path to invest in.

It is "suspended"
https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-segwit2x/2017-November/000685.html

It is most likely cancelled forever.
The proponents have moved to BCH or other altcoins (Garzik is working on his own altcoin Metronome)

Yes,according to the new's,blogs that segwit2x hardfork is cancelled or force split of bitcoin because they proposed a new creation of bitcoin that known as bitcoin2x after upgrading the plans behind segwit2x,thats why they have swing of the wake in this  week, and bitcoin run though wild   upheaval because of this cancellation.so in the other words the trading investment going back to normal mode.

I thought the official site is bitcoingold org ? But that says the network is live now.
Confusing as f*&^.

If that is the official site it seems to me the cancelation was just a rumor made to create some volatility  >:(

What's the official website of Segwit2x. Anybody know.

The official site (https://segwit2x.github.io/) hasn't been updated since October.  The latest announcement still says the fork is taking place at block height 494,784 despite the mailing list announcement that it's not going ahead, so clearly someone isn't doing their job.  You can see when things were last altered on GitHub itself:  https://github.com/segwit2x/segwit2x.github.io (https://github.com/segwit2x/segwit2x.github.io)

Seems it's fair to disregard the official page if they think more people are reading the developer mailing list and make their announcements there instead.

Bitcoin Gold is a completely different fork.  That one is something to do with changing the Proof of Work algorithm to make Bitcoin ASIC-resistant and encourage users to mine at home with their CPUs like the supposed "good ol' days".  I'm guessing they forgot about Botnets, hijacked PCs and the bad ol' days, where anyone releasing a successful virus could take control of a disproportionately high amount of the hashrate.

The developers have called it off, but technically the miners could still push ahead with it if they believed it was worth the risk.  Declared support is dropping (https://xbt.eu/) rapidly (https://coin.dance/blocks), though.  So it's a fairly safe bet that even if a small number of miners did try to carry on with it, they won't get very far.

I can't believe what the Op has asked and what people are telling him, one said about bcc when he has not asked for bcc, try and be helpful guys, currently there is no segwit2x in place, it was originally decided for 16th November but due to a lack of support it has been cancelled, however I feel it will resurface in a while, when one cannot say, we will have to wait and see.

Now it is unknown. The original developers S2X hard fork announced the closure of the project. But now the other team wants to do a hard fork. Most likely S2X will happen.

There are a lot of posts and threads about it. Segwit2X is dead, we don't need to bring back the dead. It is cancelled a couple of days ago and it will not happen anymore. But there are some information that another fork will happen again this December so I think that must be our topic.

It is cancelled. I don't know about why some people backed out to this "upgrade" but you can just read some of the infos in this link. https://bravenewcoin.com/news/segwit2x-hard-fork-abandoned-what-happened-and-why/

I am not considering to buy BCH. I want to know whether BTC segwit2x fork is going to happen or not.

The news lately was that SegWit2x is already cancelled due to lack of support from those who signed the New York Agreement. There were those who signed for the agreement yet decided to withdraw their support later for various reasons...and because of this lack of consensus the lead developers have no choice but to called it off. The cancellation became then the catalyst for the temporary migration to BitCoinCash (they are dumping right now, though).

Now, as to whether it can be revived in the future that remains to be seen. I am guessing that since Bitcoin really have a big scaling problem then there can be some talks going on right now on the acceptable ways to solve the big challenge. We will just wait on the developments on this area. Personally, am hoping that soon a real and lasting solution can be found so that there can no transaction backlogs and service providers and miners can lower their service fees (this is getting ridiculous because Bitcoin is supposed to be fast yet cheap).

I concur, I think Developer will not overlook that matter and will create a better solution than Segwit2X, less controversial and less scandalous and should have a real 'overwhelming' consensus otherwise it will fail again. Segwit2X is just controversial and also messy. I speculate Segwit2X is going to happen sooner. What if the original plan is to hype up Segwit2X for the benefit of BCH? (Well, it happened, BCH got the pump but failed to keep up with the uptrend movement and it's dumping now.) but it failed, so the Plan B is to continue Segwit2X.
