What's the official website of Segwit2x. Anybody know.
The
official site hasn't been updated since October. The latest announcement still says the fork is taking place at block height 494,784 despite the mailing list announcement that it's not going ahead, so clearly someone isn't doing their job. You can see when things were last altered on GitHub itself:
https://github.com/segwit2x/segwit2x.github.ioSeems it's fair to disregard the official page if they think more people are reading the developer mailing list and make their announcements there instead.
I thought the official site is bitcoingold org ? But that says the network is live now.
Confusing as f*&^.
If that is the official site it seems to me the cancelation was just a rumor made to create some volatility

Bitcoin Gold is a completely different fork. That one is something to do with changing the Proof of Work algorithm to make Bitcoin ASIC-resistant and encourage users to mine at home with their CPUs like the supposed "good ol' days". I'm guessing they forgot about Botnets, hijacked PCs and the bad ol' days, where anyone releasing a successful virus could take control of a disproportionately high amount of the hashrate.
Is Segwit2X fork cancelled or it will happen
I can't find the real answer. So help me and move this topic on correct place.
The developers have called it off, but technically the miners could still push ahead with it if they believed it was worth the risk. Declared support is
dropping rapidly, though. So it's a fairly safe bet that even if a small number of miners did try to carry on with it, they won't get very far.
