Title: Bitcoin Transaction Stuck!
Post by: xayan123 on November 14, 2017, 07:40:54 PM
My bitcoin transaction has been stuck for more than 12 hours now : https://blockchain.info/tx/1f15ef9777583192ae469a961f63d2d9be57d0d7524740ab7eb10206efd75e0a

Whats the best option? There is not enough BTC so i can't double spend. I have permission of receiver to withdraw funds if required because the receiver is still waiting for 1 confirmation.

I am no expert but I think after some time it will slowly get through. This is of course if your fee isnt too low which looking at it should be fine. I would get another opinion somebody who has more expertise with xfers.

I think you need to give it some time, If it doesn't go through just contact the seller/buyer and hash things out.

Have you tried dropping it into a transaction accelerator? That should help out with the confirmation, especially if you put too little as the fee for sending the amount. Did you use a custom fee when you were sending? If you did and you tried to use the same fees that you used some time in the past, you should note that the fees range with how many transactions need to be confirmed, how many other people are sending confirmations, what the current fee is, etc.

Yup.I wasn't able to do it before, but i was able to do it again. I used a custom fee. Thank you for the information! :)

The fee is definitely on the low side especially now that the fess have gone out of control, you will probably need to wait 20 to 25 hours for your transaction to confirm, now there are some wallets that allow you to change the fee of a transaction after the fact, you could try that or you could try to use the services of bitcoin transaction accelerators.

You just used so low fees on the transaction, you need to pay more fees if you want your transaction to go through smoothly, and at the moment the whole system for the fees is so high, so i would not be paying or sending payments to anyone right now, because fees are over $7 each one and this is pretty high, it was much more expensive yesterday but it is still expensive if you think about it.
Just go to the service section and ask some of those guys who are accelerating the tx to accelerate yours, but it will cost you a few bucks.

With the current network condition what is happening to your transaction is normal. There are a lot of transaction with higher fees that have not confirmed even in more than 12 hours.
Now there are 90000 unconfirmed transactions.

BTC pending take too much time.I faced this problem and also take too much fee to make a tx fee. This is very annoying.I don't know when this problem will be solved. I am worried I made a tx 2 days ago and still pending :(

You sent with a 110.324 sat/B fee which is way too low with the network congestion right now. https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ suggests 780 sat/B.

Your wallet is using too low a fee, either use a better wallet like Electrum with the high fee option or set your fee manually.

Meanwhile you can use the transaction accelerator at https://pool.viabtc.com. They only allow so many uses per hour. If you create a free account you should be given a handful of free accelerations.

Your fee would be decent if the situation was not like this...
Average fee according to fork.lol now:
https://i.imgur.com/VkfThgh.jpg
Your fee is half of the average, so you need to accelerate somehow.
You can try ViaBTC:
https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ (https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/)
Try at full hour, first few transactions are accelerated, and it's free.

some wallets like electrum allow you to pay extra fees (child pay for parent something like that), you can double spend paying more fees or you can use a push tx

Recently saw new article that there 700 million US dollars worth of stuck transactions. This is why in my mind we need to update BTC protocol, this is not normal for BTC to evolve.

I got the chill yesterday when my payment was delayed too and was later informed that there was a lockdown on the blockchain! Really outrageous! Informed that someone bought 10000btc dat put a lockdown on the transaction chain. Heard someone had to even pay a 35$ transaction fee to clear out a 100$ payment! Hmmn... This is technology, they say, a lockdown on transaction shouldn't be happening at this stage. Well, I got my payment in about 48hours, this can be better and I hope it is looked into to avoid a future crack down.

For some days now, there has been a huge issue with the confirmation of transactions in the blockchain, due to some heavy purchase of bitcoin, this will be resolved soon.

You paid only $2,50 for the fees of that transaction, this is so far less than the average for transactions to get confirmed at the moment. it is not going to get confirmed if you dont ask for help on the service section on this forum, or at least, if you are not a miner, you are not going to be able to proccess that transaction as soon as possible. Better to put more than five dollars per transaction, otherwise, they will get stuck for more than ten hours, just like it happened now with yours.
Be careful with that
.

It's advisable that people input higher transaction fee or else their transactions are going to get stuck for a very long time, you can go the services sub forum here am sure that there are lots people who are offering their services which confirms stuck transactions.

I think this time you have to be patient waiting for a few hours, because currently bitcoin is maintance, and that is the influence of hard fork, so I suggest you transaction after hard fork.
because after hard fork, bitcoin returns to normal and you only need to update the app to make your transactions smooth.

Title: Re: Bitcoin Transaction Stuck!
Post by: rathaha10 on November 14, 2017, 10:19:50 PM
It got stuck maybe because there are now a lot of transactions going on. If you pay a higher fee it can go way faster than paying the normal fee. Your transaction will eventually be completed, but i think that it will take some time. This is normal, because sometimes i had it also. I recently bought something from steam with bitcoins, but it the transaction took very long, but in the end the game came after my transaction was completed. So you need to wait for a bit.

Since there was a massive change of mind by the users, they exchanged their BTC to Bcash and I think they are going back by now. And that is what making transactions slow I guess. Be patient a bit.

Oh man, this keeps getting me.

I am just unable to estimate transaction fees correctly. I ether overpay or underpay.

I do use the bitcoinfees website for help. But I am having the worst luck in accuracy of low long it would take my transactions to confirm.  :-[

Two days ago, the amount of unconfirmed transactions are more than 100k. This seems to be the reason why most txs are stuck and normally you only send money after it has gone down to 90k+, then you ought to pay a reasonable fee to make sure it will get confirmed sooner.

The fee is looking good, so don't worry, it will get confirmed in the blockchain eventually. It says 110.324 sat/B, that's a good one to take confirmation from the miners, I think.

4 days ago mine was 80 sat/B and I waited 3 days for it.

now the transaction fee is very high and make a lot of transactions that jammed is very influential on us,
may be very high cost.
although I strongly objected.
but how else is this is the fact that we have to keep adding transaction costs so that no transactions are stuck

Congratulations your transaction is now confirmed it has 6 confirmations now. After the long wait of 12 hours you paid good for that transaction and it's worth it. I'm also waiting for my transaction since the problem is that I only paid a very tiny fee, adjusting the fee will help us to remove those stuck transaction of ours.

4 days ago mine was 80 sat/B and I waited 3 days for it.
I have now an idea on how long I had to wait for my transaction to get confirmed.  :-\

Somebody who is good with math should come up with an algorithm that predicts confirmation time based on real time data.

24-hr average, or whatever we have now, is nowhere accurate, unless your goal for a transaction is to confirm in 24 hours. And I am taking a wild guess that most people want their transactions confirmed sooner.

It wold also be nice if all transactions were cheap and quick, but I guess that is too much to ask for.

Mine is in day 3.
I only bid 90 satoshi per byte which is apparently not enough to move it.
I cannot up the fee because the source wallet is empty.
the backlog stays at 90K transactions.
God knows when mine will clear.

At least I understand a lot more about transaction costs.

Many encounter this kind of system problem even I is waiting for my transaction to be processed I guess we cannot do anything but to patiently wait. Last day I made a transaction and the fee really sucks though I get to finished the transaction on a timely basis still the burden of transaction fee stress me especially that the amount can really help me a lot if was use for my personal expenses instead of these fees.

Title: Re: Bitcoin Transaction Stuck!
Post by: SMB-2525 on November 15, 2017, 02:54:43 AM
The recommended fee is 500 satoshi per byte which, for this transaction, is almost  2% of the transaction amount.
My problem is I am consolidating mining income into a new wallet. So there are a lot of small keys in the source wallet that make this a large transaction.
I did not understand this on the the consolidation from my other wallet.

The one that is sitting unconfirmed is almost 16K bytes.

Average confirmation time is down to 200 minutes
https://blockchain.info/charts/avg-confirmation-time
I'm at 3,000 plus

If you want to have your transaction confirmed faster, the obvious solution is to include a higher fee.
Check if your wallet includes dynamic fees

OK, I have some other BTC, so I initiated a transaction to put a little more in the source wallet so that I could bump the fee.
That was at 500 satoshi per byte for a 600 byte transaction.
Still pending.

The transaction fee should obviously be higher if you wanna make it be processed faster. But if you don't hurry, then it would be OK to wait for some time. Because I don't see any sense to pay lots of money just for the transfer.

Are you sure had waiting for 14days / 2 weeks to got a block? I don't believe about that. so far knowledge., for those who have trasactions then stuck for almost 3-4 days. that's transaction would be rejected, and directly bitcoins will be get refunded(cancel).

Is your transaction still unconfirmed ? If yes i can help you by accelerated it using antpool transaction accelerator. Comment here your txid or message me.
For others who don't want pay high fee, just constumize the fee on your transaction and use txid accelerator. It's more cheaper than paying high fee.

In times like this better yet just wait for the transaction to go through and avoid double spending there are really times that transactions are taking too long, I would suggest you to check the current transaction traffic before processing it to put the right amount of transaction fees based on your current need.

Does it reset your txid like remake your transaction or it will cancel your previous transaction and fund your money back? I wonder if I participate in some kind of ICO program and having that such problem, and there are no confirm after 72 hours, and then its resend again and I will lost my money (in some case the ICO is close and every transaction which sent to it will not get token back)

Yup, since one week the problem continues but it should be over by today or tomorrow. I have started getting the faster confirmation now thats why I’m sure about the thing. I had problem for my transaction since two to three days and many of them got reverted because no block accepted them! Thats ridiculous how bitcoin fees and the miners acceptance matter here a lot. However, I’m now happy that my transaction are credited and I think this was all about the BCH thing where miners were diverted to the cheap BCH mining and low network congestions.

Anyway, you can always try using the bitcoin transaction accelerator. For this you can checkout the service section under marketplace and hey are free to do. So you can apply low fees yet your transaction will be processed within 5 blocks.
