It is up to 68 USD now, do you guys think it will act like bit coin cash and go up like crazy?

If litecoin rises, it may be as a result of hype and all. Litecoin is going to forever in the shadow of bitcoin. Litecoin has remain the same all these years and honestly, I am not expecting any price increase on it. If all you hold is litecoin, it will be nice for you to buy some bitcoin.

I think it has potential for such growth. But many external factors will not give a chance for LTC.
Still LTC is a field of experiments. Lightning is already implemented in LTC and Lee don't afraid to implement newly developed technologies. The biggest problem of LTC is Bitcoin's popularity.

Litecoin price is just tied with bitcoin and it is increasing/decreasing with every bitcoin swing. Litecoin is pretty old and community is also quite big but it have never made outstanding pump before so I will say yes $100 per LTC is possible if bitcoin will pump to over $10k  ;)

Yes it is relay Crazy and in future it will be a more amazing crazy as like bitcoin. When bitcoin came in market no one think about bitcoin price so now we can see LTC price is now 68 USD and we hope it will be reach around $100 in Future and we already buy $4000 LTC .

It is not going to happen now, it has a long path to recover and from $68 to $100 in a single day, or in a short period of time is impossible.Far as i know there are not too many people interested on litecoin, i dont know why it is happening but it is not good for the coin at all.
It has been rising anyway, it made more than 4% yesterday and it is still going up, but it will never touch $100, at least it would not touch it without a good pump of more than 10 -20 percent.
I love litecoin, but it is not one of the most profitable coins at the moment.

Sure, it'll be at 100 USD someday but the Litecoin is a special coin. Its volatility is very low, it's a very stable crypto.

Litecoin is quite old coin and yet it didn't make any outstanding performance.. But yeah since it's relatively connected to bitcoin movements, i'm expecing it to see 100$ mark if btc will continue to rise as it is now.

Litecoin is different from bitcoin cash. The scenario for the rise of bitcoin cash was totally different and kind of unexpected. It cannot be the same for litecoin. The highest price that litecoin has gone to is 85$ per litecoin,on 2nd of September 2017,and after the fall it has been oscillating from  40$-70$. The hopes are still high but this is definitely not the moment for the rise of litecoin,as bitcoin and bitcoin cash have all the popularity and the mass audience level.

We should not even be comparing a manipulative coin to a coin that has been existing for a while with a good support even though it has not been giving so much to expectations. BCH price was manipulated and I feel that was so glaring enough due to the huge dump which I believe Roger did on traders. Very cheap way to deceive people as far as I am concerned but I blame those who fell for it anyway.

LTC is a stable cryptocurrency (compared with other ones) and in my opinion, its value is underestimated.

Just remember, LTC touched $95 and 0.023 BTC after few days people panic with BTC and china news about ICO and fake news. LTC will touch new ATH. Watch this coin in the beginning of 2018 Q1. LTC very cheap now, For me it's like a perfect opportunity.

IMO there is a bit far when you are comparing bitcoin cash vs litecoin, bitcoin cash is the bitcoin junior and that's why it have a better potiental than litecoin.

most of the altcoins including litecoin were dumped hard in the past few weeks leading to the bitcoin cash pump and the bitcoin short term drop. all of that meant a big dip which these altcoins needed to come out of. in other words when the market settles down and the dumping stops they all jump back up a little, that is why you see the rise in LTC price now after the dumping phase is done.

I don't expect any rise to $100 since there is not much news about litecoin that I have heard but if you saw something know that LTC has the potential to rise. this year it has grown a lot and that made its community that much bigger. it just needs a catalyst

The Litecoin run-up in 2017 was driven by technological improvements of the protocol, not so much by growing adoption, IMO. We hear a lot about SegWit, Lightning Network, Cross-chain Swaps, that are intended to address complaints about the limited throughput capacity of Bitcoin/Bitcoin forks, yet users ignore them after each of these features get released on mainnet. It shows people are not yet ready to use cryptocurrency for sensible, high-load applications.

Jokes aside, Monero has risen from $85 to $140-155 on August 22-25 on news that IRS has a working Bitcoin tracking software since 2015. Bitcoin transactions are completely transparent and even if mixed, can be traced with a significant degree of accuracy, so Monero was hyped as a potential tax evasion coin.

Looking a bit deeper in all the coins, LTC seems to be the perfect coin.

Certainly, Litecoin deserves the $ 100 price tag, but it is not far from reaching its deserved goal. Today Litecoin managed to come to the $ 75 level.

No, bitcoin cash went through a giant amount of manipulation to reach that price, and there is not interest from the miners to do that with litecoin, there is probably not enough money to be made in order to try that with litecoin, however I think litecoin could reach 100 dollars per coin in the next year or the year after, litecoin is one of the most solid coins out there and I think it could reach that price in the future.

BCH is 1000+ only because has bitcoin in its name. Litecoin, on the other hand easily deserves to be at least 100. I think by the end of this year we will see that price tag.

Don't forget that the price of litecoin was in september aleady above 90$, so yes a price of 100$ is definitely possible, the only question is when. Charlie lee and his team are always busy trying to improve litecoin and adding new features.

Litecoin is one of my favorite altcoin and for sure this coin will increase more and possible the price will reach 10k dollars . So if you have extra money in your wallet it's better if you invest that in litecoin. Coinbase add wallet litecoin and thats good sign that the price of this coin increase. Those people bought litecoin last few years are now happy because they can earn more profit.

Definitely it has potential for growth and it has really experienced some growth for a while and has been able to at least still stay relevant on the top 10 altcoin so far according to coinmarketcap. The chances of staying for long in that position is actually very low as so many altcoins with huge potentials may end up bounding it out of the way. Compared to holding bitcoin, it has not really been that much impressive of a coin to hold.

LTC all time high was achieved in the begining of september and it was around 90$!
In my opinion 100$ will be a really low target for LTC in 2018! When you see that something useless like BCH which came only from miner manipulation has a value of 1000$....
In the last two months, a lot of new cash came into the crypto market and for the moment this cash is only stucked in BTC and BCH with all the fuss around BTC fork. When all the fuss will finish, we will see this cash flow on the altcoins and it will start with the top 10 altcoins.

I do not see litecoin doing that, in fact it is probably one of the most steady coins in its growth, I do think we will see it pass 100 usd but probably not for some time yet, perhaps sometime in early or mid 2018

I have some litecoins stucked on my portfolio that i bought for more than 50 dollars in the last three weeks, i dont know if i should try to dump them because i dont want to keep them on my wallet anymore.
I really doubt that the price is ever going to touch more than one hundred dollars because it is almost impossible, litecoin doesnt even have the enough marketing and the enough technology to reach that price.
There are better projects on the market like neo and gas, they are soon going to skyrocket, and it is better to have your money in there if you want to earn a lot.

Charlie Lee really want to push the price up so I think there's a strong possibility that we will see Litecoin price at 100 USD soon. Maybe before 2018, who knows? Buy and hold if you don't have better coins in your mind.

When Litecoin's Lightning Network is already fully installed and then implemented then perhaps there will be a significant increase for Litecoin's price. That will be happening in the days to come. I guess there is no easy way for Litecoin to acquire fast acceleration without a big news coming before it. Litecoin has been here in the crypto world much earlier than the others and it is growing slowly. But it is always a good option.

I think LTC price can reach to $100 by 2018. It's not yet possible before the end of 2017 since there are other altcoins that getting more popular now than LTC such as BTC cash. But LTC is also a good altcoin that's why there are many investors interested in it.

Yeah, it sounds like its price keeps increasing regularly. The one thing I am afraid of is that LTC had a huge price crash once and lots of people lost a lot of money. But everything seems to be gaining value these days, including ETHEREUM.

Conmarketcap.com data indicates LTC's grwoth being positive. The LTC is at $68.86. The last weeks' trend seems to be good and growing steadily. We can hope for $100 by mid of 2018. I too prefer to invest in it when i have enough fund.

No, Bitcoin Cash pump was organized attack against the Bitcoin network and somebody make a lot of money from those who bought BCH at 2800 USD. And from the weak souls who sold BTC in the 20% panic drop.

LTC shown on testnet fast transactions and it's good alternative to ETH and BTC to store for value. I'm expecting 100 USD LTC price in less than 6 months.

I don't think that it will act like bitcoin cash since I believe that ltc pump is not manipulated unlike BCH. It won't go up that crazy but it might continue it's upward movement slowly but surely, until it reached new All Time High. If it were to follow the same trend as BCH it won't be healthy for the litecoin market, it would surely go down again soon and will go back to slumber and will be stable at a low price again for a long time. There's also the probability of it dumping soon.

ltc is a pretty good coin. I bought it for $ 50 with 50 coin I'm still waiting for ltc to have a better price to sell but I think it will be very difficult to ltc worth $ 100.

There is really no doubt that litecoin will go past $100. Litecoin is better den bcash in most areas. It got a good brand, none known scammers supporting it, better security and better developers. In the end bcash will fade away and Litecoin coexist with bitcoin.

The 100$ Litecoin is a old discussion, since few months people are talking about it. In my opinion Litecoin will worth 100$ for sure but it is impossible to say when. Like someone else said, there is no huge news for the moment so it won't be a fast pump I guess.

Since you mentioned it is old discussion, I am not sure you also same thing again here. LTC become one of competitive altcoin in the market and value also shows predominant growth in the chart.
But litecoin is affordable to purchase with the multiple wallet and hold it for some time.

Really a hot conversation, if in general about what $ 100 is a question, if LTC predicted growth to around $ 160. What's good about Litecoin is that it acts like a sandbox for BTC. You can test every upcoming Bitcoin improvement to LTC as it's a Bitcoin clone with a competent developer, unlike most BTC clone altcoins.

if bitcoin falls, be sure that litecoin will also fall, I am very sure that ltc has to reach 110 USD before closing the year (this does not happen a bitcoin break as indicated, since the supply that LTC has not lets it grow completely).

It's possible but I think unlikely in the short term, you have so many things going on with other coins that LTC is kinda in the back. The best case scenario I can think of LTC is something happening to BTC and people moving their money to LTC, that can happen. But in general, the value usually comes from the project itself, it has to innovate and provide something new to the market in order for them to buy more coins and the value of the coin to appreciate. I think 100 is reasonable, but BTC will have a lot of attention in the coming weeks due to various new, such as being utilized as a future. Other coins such as NEO are doing greate marketing campaigns as well and are integrating their technology well enough to get a lot of media attention.

Iddeally ltc price if we compare to 2013 price when btc $1300 and ltc is $41. And i dont understand why ltc is so undervalued now. But i believe it will break $200 soon. I really doubt litecoin wont follow bitcoin sucess, this year litecoin were worthing 50 dollars, and now we do have it worthing already 70 dollars. Litecoin is being a nice investment for the mining industry  even not giving the big and huge return as bitcoin it remains a strong currencie wich is faster and cheaper then bitcoin. I do believe bitcoin will be used as store of value, and altcoins will fight to get bitcoin previous place into the transactions.

Well its around 70-80 dollars now so i think that it has the potential to go over 100 dollars. Litecoin is also in the top 10 coins so its a trusted and a safe coin.

It may fall on short/medium terms, but somedays we will see a FOMO pump due to the atomic swap with BTC.
That will happen once a wallet will support that the easy way for an average crypto-joe.

It's not a hard task for litecoin to be $200 in near future. People having spare money, need to invest in litecoin so that they may get nice profit from it's rise in the market. The price of ltc is likely to go up depending on the china markets.

Let's see if it's achievable or not but currently it looks like pretty much achievable. Look at other top 10 altcoins, most of them had a breakout in this month and I don't want LTC to be left behind this rally. LTC is what Bitcoin wanted to be. Low fees and faster transactions, 100 times better than BCH shitcoin which is completely manipulated market.

When you invest in litecoin most people are not thinking about the potential of the coin they are thinking about a safe investment, as we know litecoin is just basically bitcoin with another name but with the advantage that we do not have all the drama and issues that exist in bitcoin, that is why segwit was activated first in litecoin and many other development that are going to come in the future are going to appear first on litecoin too.

Litecoin needs some type of upgrade and or good news, why ride in the shadow of Bitcoin when you can stand up and do your own thing. Lee has got to think of something.

ltc is absolutely not 100usd. In the long run, Litecoin is not well developed or advertised, so I do not recommend long-term Litecoin because holding Litecoin for a long time may not be as long as holding Bitcoins or Ethereum.

Litecoin is good but if you want make 4x your money, invest TENX. The early adopter already made 4x of money and I could see it hitting $10 by end of this year. Tenx is only few who has actual product on the market.

being one of the old coin i expect the coin to beat some new coin but unfortunately i dont think LTC will be pumping up anytime soon. the price has been going up and down for sometime now. I guess it is not well demanded for like other coin. the price might reach $100 maybe in few month time. everything burn down to speculation. nobody knows ETH will start pumping like that until recently. it might be turn of LTC too one day.

As much as it may have potential for growth in the long run, I so much agree with you on just dumping for bitcoin. Although, this year, we have had some increase too for litecoin but obviously nothing too spectacular. However, I would not just say one should push it aside but looking at your point as being forever in the shadow of bitcoin, that is a point that should not be discarded and I would rather just hold bitcoin instead.

Litecoin have a capacity to growing up but it just a little bit, because if you notice little numbers of people are continuing holding litecoin. Why? Because their price in the market was move only a little bit also plus popularity to all people will be lessen.

It is not quite possible as LTC have have potentiality to hit in the market just like ETH. Quite possible... Litecoin is similar to TOP altcoins, it follows bitcoin's buy waves. Bitcoin is climbing up to  $10k. That means litecoin may hit $100 in a month probably.

Sure litecoin is a stable currency for a very long time and the value does not move at all in either directions and so you wont see it as a profitable coin to invest even in the long run. :D the only movement i saw in the coin was a year back when there was a network upgrade and after that it on a hibernation stage and i do not expect any big changes in its price.

If LTC goes up, it must be hype or someone who is trying to pull the price up and buy it. The reason is that the development schedule of LTC is basically no, and the application is very poor, there is no value at all, I won't buy LTC for any coin

Wow, BTC and ETH are stealing the show, but LTC is doing great too!  I bought long ago when it was 14 USD, and finally the 100 USD mark is so close. And Lightning network is still in progress, so much potential here.

If you wait just a little bit, it can even go down a little further. If you can get in anywhere below $80, then you should be fine and if it goes further lower, then you can just buy more. Litecoin is an alt just like any other coin. BTC going up doesn't specifically mean ltc will go up, I wouldn't be surprised if ltc gets a big dump again.

That still does not change the fact that it is a coin that is being heavily manipulated and there is no way to deny that, of all the forks I will admit that bitcoin cash is the best and the only one that offers something really different from the vision of the core developers but the fact that the miners can so easily manipulate its price to obtain benefits is something that I hate about BCH.

Litecoin just surpassed $100 now and I'm impressed. My Australian friend did have some Litecoins holding for a long while, and he's happy right now. However, he did bought some altcoins using Litecoin such as Electroneum, Sense, Plexcoin, Cardano, Universa and a lot more.

As long there are not much dumpers around, LTC might go up slowly but steadily.

I've never been a fan of litecoin because i've always thought it is just another clone of bitcoin that offers nothing new. But recently, i've strated to see the potential of litecoin as a support coin that will complement bitcoin directly. $100 is a justified fair price for litecoin and I see it could definitely stay well above that price range.

Now it just needs to stabilize at $100, but I think of just holding long term instead of trading it . Would have made more of it if I just held since I first bought . Plus trading takes up a lot of time and constant checking.

Oh I am definitely over the moon with Litecoin. It is by far my biggest altcoin holding (yes, it is only 5 coins but I bought them at $40 so it was a LOT of money for me!) so I have always been happy with the slow and steady growth. Definitely my favourite alt in the portfolio. Was very happy to see them at just over $500. I am keeping these for a long time. If it can become the minor king of alts, and replicate the success of Bitcoin to reach a stable $1000 after three or four years, I will be more than happy.

My next big investment next year will also be in Litecoin, maybe another 5 to add to become 10 LTC :)

Wait a minute, how did this talk about Bitcoin Cash and forking creep into a Litecoin thread? Litecoin is not a fork, yes, it was built in the mould of Bitcoin, and wanted to achieve the same objectives of BCH years earlier, but it has maintained very good relationships with Bitcoin developers. Remember Segwit? Soon Lightning Network and atomic swaps, and it will partially be because of Litecoin's assistance in helping to test and move the tech forwards. Meanwhile, Bitcoin Cash will never have all these techs, just... blocksize upgrades.

LTC is Bitcoins silver, it is always at a 1:10 ratio, so it has a lot of potential to become the little brother again.

As long as he bought when the prices were low I think he did a good business especially electroneum and cardano since cardano has been pumping lately, personally I prefer a simpler portfolio that is why most of my money is in bitcoin, some may think that is risky since I'm not diversified but I'm fine with my strategy since it is way easier to monitor.

LTC is a good one to HODL long term. Should do very well in 2018.

My speculation of one reason LTC might have seen a nice bump... many of those Coinbase transactions from their spike in users should be posting and some to come.  Since you can only buy BTC, ETH, and LTC on Coinbase, I bet a lot of early investors said "what the heck?"

Another aspect is as simple as the alt coins enjoying some love with BTC break off the high.

near the end of the year almost all popular coins rise dramatically,  :o before I have some LTC and sell it at the price of 60 $, now it costs more than 150 $,  :(, do not know if the price will be this high  :o

I dont like at all litecoin and several more coins went up into dollars value, but into bitcoin value looks like the most wont be able to recover anymore, one of them is litecoin, i do remember it to be traded at 0,02btc for each litecoin, nowadays is near 0,01btc and looks like wont stay for a long period since bitcoin billion market is about to give even more exposure to big investors, Chicago might change crypto forever.

We cannot really say yet as Litecoin has not really had a major push like that and it has not been able to break that brick resistance for a while now. However, I feel there may be chances for it to get to $100 based on some activities later on, but right now, we just have to assume and be full with some expectations but I would not really give it much hope.

Today LTC was pleased with the rapid growth of 78% at the moment per day, at this rate, and$ 400 is not the limit to the end of the year, where will be the correction.

I fear one BTC drop then definitely all the altcoin will going loose as well.

Its worth $290+ already. In such a short period of time, I'm not sure if this isn't going to dip soon. the current deep rise in price of LTC is a great indication that the price of coin are being influence by some group of dev and not by demand and supply. it means any coin can pump up if dev want this to happen. it is funny how some token increase up to 400% of initial value. this is to me laughable. just check coinmarketcap for top gainers and losers. i hope to see what will happen in the next 24 hours. LTC is currently $300 plus which might pump again in few minutes

Litecoin now is hyped, but I think you are overreacting if you assume that this coin touch the $1,000 immediately. In my sight it was a long long road before this altcoin reach $1,000, also I think they need to take how many years before it happen.

However I never leave the possibility that this coin get that amount in the future, because this coin is potentially strong all they needs is guidance from the developers.

In the past Litecoin gained more popularity, because it is the one that got the functional platform similar to bitcoin. This gave it more potential as well an unique altcoin among the entire list of altcoins. The growth has been taking place little by little and now the same has got to the moon with a sudden push. Hope the growth will sustain and continue reaching at least $500 with the ongoing growth.

We talked about 100 USD 10 days ago and now it's 315 USD. That's pretty surprising rise. Just when you think you know the market, it surprise you again. I didn't expect that fast rise but there is definitely some pump going around in whole market. We can see higher before it blows up completely.

Ltc is $285 at the moment. The fast upward movement is surprising and unexpected. But i think it will never be as high as eth though its platform is good and functionality wise  ltc is dependable. I foresight for ltc is it would reach $1000  but not so soon.

This drop today looks like a simple correction. Of course we could've profited from that. But for most of us holding will be a better strategy for the long run.

I will admit that I was one of the people that thought that was too high of a price for litecoin and now litecoin is above 300 dollars but in my defense and in the defense of many, the crypto market is moving in a way that is completely unpredictable, bitcoin went up many thousands of dollars in just a few days and many other coins are having  unpredictable movements as well.

When Ltc was $ 100, I would have made the purchase if I could find the necessary capital. But then there was no param. At this point, I do not know what the price has gone, but it seems to be getting bigger.

Every time you think you know the world of crypto and that nothing is ever going to surprise you again, and then you see this crazy month not only for bitcoin but for alts as well, it is incredible that a coin can triple its price in a matter of days, anyone that invested in litecoin at that point and did so with a huge a mount of money is probably celebrating the success of his investments.

Well, if you do not have the money then there is nothing to do except getting that money through your job, I know that it may seem difficult to raise enough money to invest in crypto, especially if you have lots of responsibilities like a family that depends on you economically, but if you want to improve your future you need to make the effort and invest as much money as you can.

A person is able to use different strategies when dumping his coins, maybe he did not dump all his coins in a single go and instead it has been a process that took him months or even a full year, that way the chances the market is going to be adversely affected get lower, and he still gets a very high price for his coins so to me that is the best strategy he could have hoped to use.

Litecoin had a beautiful run up from 100$ to 370$, there was a lot of fomo when the price was increasing.
Now we are undergoing a healthy correction, To the bag holders that bought into the fomo I would simply just keep holding.

Well, Lee keeps posting that he is still supporting the coin, and somebody posted that he donated millions of dollars for the development of LTC. He also said he was blocking anyone saying that he stopped supporting LTC :)

What does it mean? It performed a 120x growth in 2017. When people read your message, they can think that litecoin couldn't perform well past year. But it was already amazing in 2017.

I have to sum up a few things:


- Litecoins got some surprises for 2018 coming

- Charlie selling his coins is not a bad thing

- Holiday season is a valid argument, the price will rise after this

- The rise of LTC 2017 was exorbitant, so there must be a correction

The accumulation on $LTC is brutal once this thing shoots up, it is going to go high fast!
The 3D analysis shows that it is probably finishing a bullish rectangle pattern, which is basically a period of accumulation. Ichimoku signs are strong, Chikou clearing everything, Bullish TK cross and a Kumo bounce for the price with a nice hidden bullish divergence.

I think the second guy either does not know anything about crypto or he meant 1000 USD. It is more likely that he read the title, which is very old by the way and assumed we were hoping for a 100 USD :)

The 68 USD price of Litecoin (LTC) is already a thing of the past. This was just a few months ago and yet it is already a much smaller value as compared to where LTC has achieved in terms of value right now. Litecoin is already valued at more than $200 as of the moment. That is around 300 percent growth from that point. Such a huge growth already. And we know that it is not the highest peak of Litecoin. It used to reach even as high as $350. So there is still a bigger growth to it in the coming days.

I love LTC longterm and short term. The recent dip was because they cancelled the release of the lite pay credit card due to the discovery of bug. I think this is a positive. At this time more than ever we need solid projects with real working products to keep confidence in the industry. Hype and potential can only get us so far and I feel litecoin are doing a great job of bringing the world into contact with crypto.
