I'm watching the bitcoin for a few months now, saw it going up from $2,000 to over $8,000 in just 6 months.

What shook me up this morning is a notification I got by email saying it's over $8,000!! Bitcoin is up by 43% in a single month.

The big question is, will we see $10K soon, perhaps before the end of the year, or what are you guys expecting to see in the next few months?

I've been trading Forex in the past, today mainly US Stocks, but have no clue what to expect from Bitcoin.
Is it still a good time to buy, or should I wait more and see what's going on in the next 6 months? Any thoughts?

I think that it`s quite late for the new investors ,who want to jump in and buy bitcoins.
They might make some profits for sure,but the huge profits will stay for the big whales and early adopters who
bought bitcoin a few years ago and continue to hold.You have experience with forex trading and you have to already know that nobody can predict the market and searching for such advice is pointless.
If you know how to trade,you probably know how to make technical and fundamental analysis,use your skills.

What about trying to wait for the price of the bitcoin goes down again? These days people got scared caused by lost to not to buy the bitcoin.
Some or a lot of people are accumulating the more increase in the future. When some expert already said the same with others about the potential of the bitcoin and it makes to buy at every price of bitcoin makes rational.

According to your own analysis bitcoin reach to $8000 in just six months from $2000. There might comes a question to many people mind that what's the reason behind this success of bitcoin. The only reason I see that the world has come to know the reality and importance of bitcoin and the new idea of a financial system that it gifted to the world. Lots of people who were against bitcoin earlier are finally convinced that it exits with a concrete reason. That's why bitcoin is progressing and will keep on progressing in future.
If you don't buy it today then you will not be able to buy the same quantity of bitcoin in the current price after six months. It's price will be far high from now.

if you search the title of this topic word by word you can find at least a dozen topics asking the same question, maybe even hundreds of them. and if you pay attention to the dates of each of these topics you can see they have been asked from early days when bitcoin price was much lower than $100 and they will probably ask the same question when price is $100,000 too. and the answer is always YES.

Oh! Too bad you have only been watching rather than taking action. You have been into stocks and forex and at least you should have been able to understand all the risks involved. The truth is, if you have been following the news, you should know by now that there is a whole lot coming up for bitcoin in the future which definitely gives it a huge room for growth. So, it is better to be late now than ever when you will have to come back here next year when the price is maybe $20000 to say you have still not gotten in. Catch the flow now until you end up being a laggard.

It's never too late to invest in BTC,the only difference is that this investment is now much more expensive than at the beginning of this year, or years ago.So every new investor asks the same question and has the same fears,it is not easy to invest money in something worth 8000$+ per coin.

The main concern is whether and how much further prices can go up in future and whether the price can goes down.This is always a risk every new investor need to take when it comes to BTC.Not so long ago there was a saying that any buying under 1000$ per BTC is cheap,can we now say that any buying under 10000$ is cheap BTC?

I think seeing 10000$ by the end of the year is too soon IMO, bitcoin is into this continuous bullish trend already and somehow at some point I still expect that there would be dump that is on the same scale as to what happened after Mt. Gox hack. If you don't know about it, you can easily searched what happened after Mt. Gox hack.
I still think that it is a good time to buy, but buying in at this price ranges is not the best. Wait a little for a correction before considering to hodl it.

I am not an expert actually in Bitcoin nor with that forex thing but one thing for sure is that Bitcoin is actually a different beasts though there will always be similarities since we are dealing here in the open market and there are similar forces playing everyday. Bitcoin has a limited supply while we know that in fiat money any central bank can just order to print more. As to your query whether it is still good to buy Bitcoin, my answer to that is a big yes but you need a big money if you want to buy a piece much more if you plan to hoard a basket of Bitcoin into your chosen wallet. The general sentiment of the market is that soon we will wake up and realize that Bitcoin has already surpassed the $10,000 level...this may or may not happen this year but definitely by next year it would be an easy goal for Bitcoin. After getting into so many different type of challenges, Bitcoin is now stronger, better and more confident than ever.

It is always a good time to buy because the price will most likely eclipse whatever price you buy it for. No one really knows what to expect, other than for it to increase and increase and increase. It sounds unsustainable, but it has been sustainable for a while now.

You should run far away from Bitcoin, and never buy any ever. Especially not right now. It will never benefit your life to hold or spend it. You should always make sure to listen to what the industry experts have to say about Bitcoin, listen to your friends, family, and co-workers, and try not to think for yourself. Do NOT think for yourself! In fact, just follow the crowd sentiment on this one.

And if you do slip up and get a wild hair to buy some, you should dump it almost immediately after it rises like $5 or $10.

Compared to were bitcoin price will be in future now is still the best time to buy bitcoin and make a great gain in years to come. At $8,000 is still a cheap price compared to $500,000 that mackafee said we would be before 2022. However, buying and holding bitcoin entail a lot of risk and your should know how this nature of risk to reward works before investing into it.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is now.

Just buy some or at least one. Hold it for 5-10 years. Try trading it and you'll get rekt. Don't ask me how I know :-\

Yeah true,  but now since bitcoin is in demand in any part of digital currency, I think it's not bad if you buy and save some numbers of bitcoin in your wallet as investment. As it rised from 500 ish to 1800 ish, I told my friend, don´t buy bitcoins it´s pure gamble. I would say the exact same thing now. Nobody knows. It´s pure gambling. One really bad news and we´ll back to way lower prices. One really good news and we see the moon... Invest money you can afford to lose.

Its never too late to invest in bitcoin there are still a lot of bitcoin to be mined and in the future were bitcoin is almost depleted the value of bitcoin might go up, dont be afraid to invest right now because in a few years bitcoin supply will be limited and will make it more valuable.

We're seeing a frenzy in terms of people buying bitcoin right now and i doubt that this is going to be stopping any time soon. So even if the logical thing to do would be wait for a correction, i think that the emotional responses of traders will be strong enough to make BTC continue to go up to at least $9-10k.

Yes, it is always good to invest Bitcoin and don't invest which you cannot afford because the price of Bitcoin is voltaile because suddenly the price of Bitcoin will drop but don't panic about it. Wait until the price of Bitcoin raises and start withdraw when you make sufficient money with Bitcoin.

It is really unpredictable for us that we tell you exact price of bitcoin. In this year bitcoin really give us a big shock, before the start of 2017 year, if anyone predict that bitcoin would be reached at $8000 in November then we don't believe on it, but now we have been seen from our eyes this thing has been happened. So next one year what bitcoin will have a price, I really can't predict it, but i know we will see bitcoin in a rock price.

Try to hop in when you see some price drops. What that does is create a rebound price because of all the people who want to buy when btc is going low. This protects us from a huge drop as well as gives you the option of getting in at a really good price. I think it would be best to buy soon, especially because I believe that 2018 will be a steady growth for bitcoin, at least at the beginning of the year.

Practically it is yes. Everyday is a shocking experience for us. We cannot predict exactly the price of bitcoin when to fall down or rise again. So it is a better way to invest now, it doesn't matter anyway since your going to invest for a long term goal. But if your trying to invest in a short peroid of time like trading, perhaps you really need to wait till the price will drop but if your willing to take the risk then go for it. But dont invest if you cant afford to lose. You will just regret in the end. Everyday is a challenging part of our life.

This is the mistake everyone makes as everyone are suggesting you to invest just imagine if you had invested at $2k you would have 4 times the return today but instead you simply waited and still you are asking weather you should invest in btc or not.  Don't wait btc is highly volatile anything can happen mostly for the good.

Forex has no connection with btc forex is betting on weather price will increase or decrease while btc is making the investment both of these have no connection.

Why not you still don't trust btc completely let's say you have some money saved from your income which you are planning to invest go all in with btc it's surely not a crazy idea as time progresses the price rise higher and will give you are better return than any investment in the world.

Limited supply comes with a disadvantage as time will progress the speed of btc will reduce and transactions fees will be really high.

Short term we may see some adjustment price wise. We still don't know exactly the extent of damage that Tether hack has had, however it seems unlikely that any major harm is going to be brought with that hack anyways. If the price dips below $8000 then i would definitely start accumulating straight away.

In my opinion we're still only nearing institutional investors. We have only seen a select few companies being actually interested to invest and use bitcoin, let alone mass adoption. We've still got a long way to go.

Sure, we cannot discard the fact that bitcoin will still remain a currency that have been able to set the early adopters up for life. However, one thing I would not agree with it is assuming that bitcoin has reached its peak. So many people thought bitcoin reached its peak when it was $10 - $15 and then we have it here now.

The thing is, bitcoin can increase more than this and of course making some new set of people rich and then whether we like it or not, at some point, there will always be the last people who will come to the show, who may only enjoy it mainly for the usage value rather than it being an asset.

Yea its never been late in case of bitcoin because I read few articles and many pundits saying its time for bitcoin and this can touch over 15000$ in next few months I believe its still good time for buying and investing because its for long term purpose this is going to give very good profit but need to keep eye on charts and just invest which you can afford to invest for some long term

The Tether thing looks as sketchy as anything. It should have caused a correction in the market, but it seems that large groups are buying on every dip.

The real risk with tether is that the people who run it are the same as the people who run bitfinex, and if that exchange goes down it will be a mini MtGox event.

I'm not sure about $10k in the end of the year but we are going into $10k right now, maybe we will reach it next year. In my opinion it's still a good time to invest in bitcoin, i can see the price will stable around $8,000 or even increase again until the end of the year. Waiting for 6 months is too much i think, it's better invest it now.

You have to remember that forex trading and crypto trading is completely different things and market might not react in same way. Bitcoin price is increasing not only because people all over the world are buying bitcoin to make payments but also as they are buying it as store of value. Bitcoin is new digital gold with limited supply but high demand, so even $100k is possible within next few year.

I am fairly sure that it would have gone down more if there was no major event upcoming, which is the potential approval of CME to launch Bitcoin futures this year. Every drop that happens is being seen as a very welcome buying opportunity, and as long as it isn't clear whether or not CME will get an approval or rejection, this will continue.

People are idiots, really. They should have withdrawn everything from Bitfinex completely after the hack, but still, people are delusional enough to keep using it, and even without Tether, Bitfinex will go down - it's just a matter of time, really. People have been warned plenty of times, but they will only listen when they are paying the price for their ignorance, that's for sure.

Yeah neither buy at once nor sell at once and you can do it in installments to get better results in future as right now price is too high so you can buy in small parts and wait for the price to drop and if it does then you can buy some more at lower price and same goes when you sell your bitcoins when you are making profits as its always wise to keep some bitcoins for future to sell it even at higher price.

Buying bitcoin now is not too late. If we see full adoption in the future, the price still has to go up in value because we it has a limited supply. I think this is not a good time to invest in bitcoin because bitcoin prices are still very high. You have to wait for the end of the year because by the end of the year many people will be selling bitcoin for New Year's party so many people will sell their bitcoin or exchange it for real currency so that this can make bitcoin price at the end of the year will go down. so that's when you have to invest.

I agree definitely no, this is not the right time to invest in bitcoin. Because price of this coin now is very expensive and some people now are can't afford to buy a lot of stocks. But there's a way to earned bitcoin without any investment, maybe it's a good choose than investing cash into bitcoin.

What I'm expecting to see in bitcoin for the next months? It will be recognized and it will skyrocket although there are inevitable events that may happen too about banning, regulations and other stuffs that are stopping bitcoin to moon. The same sentiments with the one started the thread and now im convinced that investing in bitcoin is not about the timing but the courage to take the risk. And now im more that ready to take that path than being fearful all the time.

Definitely! Most of the investor today are joining because of FOMO or fear of missing out. They want to hop on the hype train while it is still within reach. Anytime is good time to invest but for maximum profit invest when there are dips.

Yes and now looking at the growth in the price of bitcoins achieving price of $10k doesn't seems to be very difficult and that price is predicted in this year itself so if you invest even at $8k price and if it achieves $10k in next month then also you will be making net profit of $2k which is too good to believe and that also in a quick session.

i think its too soon for bitcoin to reach $10,000 in this year because for reaching $8,000 its the best that bitcoin do in this year and this is the best time for bitcoin. maybe in next month the price is increase but we can hope that the price can reach $10,000.

We can still but some bitcoin even if its not whole 1 btc, we can buy some of it if we can't afford the price of it, because I am sure that bitcoin will totally burst again next year. It is really fast for bitcoin to increase its price that's why it is hard for us now to buy the whole 1 btc but if we can buy some of it for maybe at least 0.5 btc is enough for us to buy for the firs timer or maybe 0.3 btc.

Yes we have an choice to buy bitcoins in small parts so you can buy it depending on your budget as whatever investment you make in bitcoins will yield you best results in long term so without looking at price we should continue to invest in bitcoins regularly as it will definitely give you best results in future.

If you bought BTC at $8k then you would have already made a cool $300 per bitcoin you bought. I mean i personally think that $10k is just in sight and we'll hit it December or January next year, meaning that you'll make $2k per coin if that is true.

It really comes down to this. Whether bitcoin hits $10k or not.

Right now we have got highest chances of reaching $10000 at the earliest. Now price shows minor fluctuations which at times might lead to a price fall and the momentum will suddenly support for a growth that majority of the users predicted. Along with this most other altcoins too were expected to grow.

It may take some time for bitcoin to reach to that price but that is not impossible to achieve and some day we will see bitcoin going above that price but no one knows when exactly it will happen but right now things are looking good and lets hope that we will get this good news very soon and bitcoin will become unstoppable once it goes beyond the price of $10k.

This question was asked when it was 2k, then at 5k and so on, there is no fix time to enter the market. Buy at every dip and every opportunity you get, don't wait for a fix time buy small and keep buying till you feel you won't be able to buy anymore. If you had already purchased it, you would have got Bitcoin gold also and now silver is coming plus segwit2x can come anytime. So yes purchase at dips and small quantities.

No one's forcing anyone to always buy 1btc, you can always buy fractions of it like 0.1 or so. Also, by many speculations on forum and by some experts, bitcoin is to hit the 10+ in the next year and $20k+  at 2020-2022 and that's a 100% rise from the todays price. It may be difficult for someone to invest $8k but surely 1-2k would be good for a 100% profit in 2 years. I don't know but the price is still relatively "low" for what's it speculated to be in a 5+ years.

You can invest now as much as you can because it’s a very good and right time to invest because the price of bitcoin is going very high and we can get a very good profit from it so need to change a life and we must take fully profit from it so always invest here because bitcoin is very safe and sound for investment and I’m one of the investor here from two years and I change my life now I’m very happy in my life just because of bitcoin.

It is never a bad time to buy bitcoin, the price is very high that is true and maybe a correction is coming but if you are able to hold for the long term then you are going to get great profits, I have only held for about two years and my profits are incredible and my plan is to hold for at least 5 years.

Op, Bitcoin went above $8,000 to almost above  $11,700 but later decline below  $9,200 as at yesterday and that was a good opportunity to buy at the lower price as a result of the decline in the value of Bitcoin. Although there are so many who sold at lost as a result of the panic as to whether the decline trends will continue. All the same, will say that it is a good time to buy Bitcoin and not later because you may not see any further decline in the value of Bitcoin.
