I have been using poloniex long ago. Poloniex have less fee structure and of course they are more supportive than bitttex with their customers.
Additionally, i like to use changelly.com for my most coins whenever i need to exchange them in rush.

The most used and most trusted exchange I use is Bittrex!
I also use Poloniex for coins I have that are not listed on
Bittrex and GDAX for trades that are going eventually to FIAT.

All of your mention above are very good exchange that most people use.
Why do you need more exchange? I think trade on that exchange only is good.
But as you wish, i can add binance and novaexchange.

Nice try sneaking two of the worst exchanges.

Avoid Cryptopia and CCEX like the plague. You're better off using the bigger exchanges.

Oh Polo, good ol days but stopped using it because of withdrawal issue, luckily for me it only takes about 3 months++. I member that.

So far never had a problem using Trex, but some user getting their account lock because something-something US policy about their's "friendly" Country.

About cryptopia you must check the tab for coin info if you want to withdraw, coz some coin WILL have 0 Connection NODES eventually they will come back to normal though. Have pending withdraw for ETC coin and it's take me a few good hours for them to add active node.

For me :

1. Trex
2. Cryptopia
3. Poloniex

I think I had read somewhere on twitter, if you have T3++. you will have better service on polo like having a skype with support? Is this true

Funny to see some names here listed as trusted. Everything is trusted until they suddenly pull a surprise on you:
1. Unprocessed withdrawals.
2. Unanswered support messages.
3. Account locks.
4. Extra verificaton required.

Seems only small traders with insignificant volumes have nothing happening to them, but woe if you make profits and wish to cash out.

Centralized exchanges, let's make them a bad memory and start moving to decentralized exchanges!

Come on, Waves!

poloniex is the only one I've been using

honestly i probably use it too much and keep too many of my coins in it, i know eventually its gonna burn me having coins in the exchange just because i like to be able to see the various coin USD worth i have in 1 app on my phone lol

Why bitrex is not in your list. Bitfinex is mostly you can in the forum itself.
Bitrex and polenix are best exchange sites in the market which can be used widely and even many coins listed in coinmaketcap also will direct to reach the bitrex site only.
Since these kind usage range, I would like to go for bitrex only as the bestie one in the trusted exchanges.
For fiat exchanges I use to go with the localbitcoins.com always.

We share the same view with regard to Bittrex and Poloniex. These are my top two trusted cryptocurrency exchanges. However, Poloniex had gone several problems which I considered big deal, yet I still consider it as a good platform. Following Bittrex and Poloniex are Cryptopia and HitBTC. I particularly like Cryptopia. I like the way it appears and its friendly navigational features. I am also using BitFinex although it comes last in my top 5.

Now a days we are facing some challenges with the Bittrex by disabling the account without any further notification. Etherdelta is complicated in the beginning but now the transaction are being done very fastly and you will understand it once you become familiar about it.

If talking trading volume, I prefer bittrex and poloniex. But now some new altc are very difficult to be listed into popular exchange, so I like to trade in livecoin, hitbtc, liqui and etherdelta. What concerns me now is the more expensive withdrawal fee.

I think there are many people complaining about the Bittrex and Cryptopia exchanges. Two month back many people complained about Bittrex that they disabling the people account without any problem. Through Cryptopia people are getting fake emails like Cryptopia account being accessed by the people with the other IP.

Bitfinex - love their lending , site is ok, but number of trading currencies is very small
Bittrex - good one
Poloniex - they have everything but site is working very bad, transactions are constantly stuck
Binance - Site is pretty good, selection of coins is decent. May be my next poloniex, but they have to implement lending
And waiting fro motherfucking NVO

After bitrex. You can find the polenix, finance, ether Dela andcso on. Choose the right exchange which you like or the exchange contains the more number of coins in the market.
When you check in the coinmarketcap site you may find most of the token coin added to the bitrex only first so check the coin in that site and go for trading.

What happened in etherdelta is really intriguing to think it's decentralized yet it get hacked, good thing nothing happens in my coins.
However, I still use ED as my main platform as I mostly trade using eth. My list also consist of coinexchange, bittrex and hitbtc.

Poloniex is being scratched off the list:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2687216.0

And Bittrex is hanging on the rails by a thread.

Any non U.S.-based exchanges to be recommended? I guess Cryptopia is pretty good.

Since I am something of a globe-trotter these days, I need an exchange that won't get fussy and hold my coins simply because they don't like my IP address. Thanks.

I'm doing ok with the stock exchanges Poloniex and Bittrex. I do not pay attention to isolated cases. Problems of a different nature exist on all exchanges.

"Isolated cases"? Did you read the comments in the thread link I posted? There's over ONE HUNDRED different users complaining about having the EXACT same problem with Polo. They are about to exit scam. No doubt in my mind.

Despite all disadvantages and verification's trouble Bittrex is still my favorite, I guess I just got used to it. next good ones are binance and kucoin - but that are just on my opinion. Six months ago in the first place would be Poloniiex, but now unfortunately it is more dead than alive  :(. low trading volumes , but i like their user-friendly interface.

Depend on your purpose:
- For trash coin: Cryptopia, Yo-bit
- General trading: Binance, Bittrex, Poloniex (in descending order). Binance over Bittrex for its low fee and friendliness (easy to verify)
- Decentralized exchange: I don't see any good one yet. Expecting some good projects like Kyber Network, EOSfinex or Neon Exchange.

Also  etherdelta. I don't like etherdelta because it is very slow and difficult to process. Also i am using coinexchange and okex.

Yobit: The worst
Binance: Great exchange but a low diversion of alt coins.
Cryptopia: Good and trustable exchange to buy cheap coins (for example: hodl coins for 2019). Some of the coins can be really promising.
Kucoin: Needs more coins but trustable.

- Decentralized exchange: I don't see any good one yet. Expecting some good projects like Kyber Network, EOSfinex or Neon Exchange.
I like your selection since you are seeing the differences between those exchange, for me I use polo, bittrex and binance as they have good volumes
and the coin really moves so fast, the only thing I don't like with trex is the fee while inside polo the verification to upgrade is taking so long, which why
I mostly use binance as everything that lacks between those two exchange has been improved by this exchange, looking forward that they will continue
to serve like this and more success to come for them.

For me the most reliable exchanges are Bittrex, Binance and Kukoin. Even though Bittrex has complaints I still trust this exchange. And if I can trade on this exchange for fiat, then I will respect Bitrex even more)) This will be a great opportunity to buy crypto without intermediaries.

GDAX for the ability to buy without fees. (And because it's US-based, Coinbase is mostly legit (at least, they're actually regulated and whatnot), easy to use, etc.)

If GDAX closes the post-only limit trades, I'll consider other exchanges.

etherdelta now can not reach
I have to remove etherdelta on my list and I've seen OP removing bittrex and poloniex on his list. I haven't used poloniex for a while but with bittrex, I'm having some problems with it.

Here goes my list,
1. Binance
2. Kucoin

These two are the only reliable exchange IMHO although there are exchanges that are underrated that I haven't mentioned.

I don’t trust any of them. Coins in and out as quickly as poss.
We shouldn't trust any of them but when it comes to trading we have to let our coins transfer to their platform.

Yobit: The worst
Worst in support but when I've used them last time, no problems but I didn't include it to my list since there are too many existing problems that are reported by other users.

The way they handled themselves was very professional and encouraging. They are massive, in the top 3 last time I checked, and I haven't had any problems with them thusfar.

When we consider about trust we have to consider about charges too. When we transfer coins from any exchanges they charge a fee. Some time ETH value is 8$.This is too much. When we use Etherdelata it use more less than that.

By considering that I can list according to my choice
1.Etherdelta
2.Binance
3.Kucoin
4.Bitterex
5.Hitbtc
6.Bit-z
7.Cryptopia

This is my selection. It can be differen from each other. :D :D

I'm looking mainly for altcoin exchanges. I can really only name 3 or 4, but please feel free to add to the list:

- Poloniex (updated 1/7/18: please read https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2687216)
- Bittrex (multiple complaints in the same thread above)
- cryptopia.nz

Poloniex and Bittrex are having a trouble now, though they were really one of those good exchanges even before. I've been using yobit and binance, I think these are the top exchanges so far. I didn't try other site but I'm quite satisfied with yobit and binance.

I use only Bit-Z exchange.
Here are 3 reasons for it:
1 - It is safe and you can use 2step verification that excludes fraud.
2 - You can watch for your orders and know how much money all coins cost. (total)
3 - Very fast transactions between the wallets.

If you want to trade directly from altcoin to altcoin, try either shapeshift.io or changely.com They don’t have every coin out there, but it’s a good place to check if you don’t want to make the intermediate trade as you described.

There are lots of crypto exchanges around the internet but these are my most used and trusted crypto exchange website since i got here:

1. Etherdelta (https://etherdelta.com/);
2. HitBTC (https://hitbtc.com/); and
3. YoBit (https://yobit.net/en/).

Those exchange you've mentioned are not good in the sight of many members here, because on etherdelta it has been issues for several times in terms of hacking or fishing site, while hitbtc is charging a big percentage for every transaction then yobit is the place of zombies coins where a dead coin for a couple of months all of a sudden be awaken and alive. Much better to hear kucoin or binance and bittrex are most trusted platform exchange so far.

I also like WAVES, but the fees aren't really that low (it varies depending on the current price of WAVES), and their charge to withdraw coins from their gateway is way too high. It's also slightly buggy, but I do approve of the idea of DEXs in general. I have yet to see one that works as well as it should though.

Really? A lot of people on this forum have passionate hatred for Bitstamp. Never used them so I don't know what that's all about.

I would have to say today's best exchange is Binance. Low fees, reliable, huge volume makes for high liquidity. I'm pretty sure they're the #1 exchange by volume already.

I still recommend steering clear of Poloniex. They continue to have a reputation of shutting down withdrawals from wallets for coins that are currently undergoing a price surge, only to re-open them when the price plummets back down to earth. They are basically short-selling your coins.

Don't trust Poloniex, especially now that they're owned by a Wall Street firm.

Its not a stock exchange. Cryptocurrencies aren't stocks, though traders treat them as such, and pretend they adhere to the same psychological principles that govern the tea-leaf reading art of Technical Analysis.

From 2017 onwards, I am seeing binance growth is predominant than any other exchange. I see the Bitrex alone rule the trading market completely in the hand of them. Now Binance become the trading site leader.
Bitrex do not allow people sign up all the time to start trading and they need to id verification need to done.
Binance do not ask any thing to that while you starting into the trading site.

I agree, I think Binance is pretty much my #1 go-to now.

I've never once had an issue with them.

Their site is very well designed, professional, speedy deposit/withdraw transactions.

The only thing that leaves a bit to be desired are their withdraw fees.

I'm certain most exchanges make the majority of their profits with these fees.

There are many exhange sites but only few of them are trusted

Like

HitBTC - They have few problems but trusted.
Binance - Fastest growing exchange site, have some issues in past but they are minor.
CryptoPia - Never faced any issue.
LiveCoin - They have several issues but still they never scammed any money.
Bittrex - Almost everyone knows about this, they have some big issues regarding funds.

You can find more Exchange sites here: https://cryptocreed.com/list-of-altcoin-bitcoin-exchanges-sites/ (https://cryptocreed.com/list-of-altcoin-bitcoin-exchanges-sites/)

My first exchange i used was Bit-z and i was amazed by the simple interface and also Kucoin. Both of them have app which is great. I already traded in Hitbtc and it was the fastest in terms of transfer and withdrawal of my tokens and eth compared to Bit-z and Kucoin. Hitbtc also have the lowest withdrawal fee. But in Hitbtc you can't trade all your tokens if not divisible by 100 which i don't like.

I updated the OP to reflect the results of the comments.

Top Altcoin Exchanges

- Binance
- Bittrex
- cryptopia.nz
- YoBit

Top BTC Exchanges

- Coinbase
- Bitfinex

Top DEXs

- WAVES
- Etherdelta

The withdraw fees on KuCoin are way too high, otherwise they'd be on the list as well.

I would reccomend Localcoinswap for sure 8).Localcoinswap is a P2P cryptocurrency exchange, featuring a completely decentralized peer-to-peer trading structure. There are no centralized bank accounts, no verification requirements, and no restrictions on trade. Furthermore, LocalCoinSwap distributes 100% of the sites profits to holders of Cryptoshares on a 1-to-1 basis, through a blockchain-based decentralized dividend application. Cryptoshare holders can even vote on important decisions in the running of the exchange. The following currencies have been successfully implemented into the platform and the list will keep growing in the future:ETH - BTC - LTC - DASH - BCH - ETC - Monero - Ripple - EOS - Tronix - Tether - VeChain - Binance - PowerLedger - Decision Token - Golem - Walton - Skrumble - Havven – Nomin. You can find out more here- localcoinswap.com

Using KONIOS, u can connect to other cryptoholder localy and exchange with them easy and without risk  . if u are interested in it, u can join its ICO.

Sometimes it is more dependent upon the coin I am trading. But most of the time I prefer Binance, KuCoin and IDEX. I used to trade a lot on Bittrex before. But their update, their UI became terrible and also they have lost quite a volume in past some months maybe because of their tight KYC. I prefer using high volume exchanges as they spend a lot on security and in case of some vulnerability or breach, they can compensate the users.

I really don't like yobit, it doesn't work well, it has a lot of bugs and sometimes it crash and the page freeze for some seconds.
I have used cryptopia sometimes and I have never had problem with it, it is very useful because it has a lot of small altcoins that will not never reach big exchange.
For the big exchange, I often use bittrex and also with this I have never had problem, and the support of this exchange solved me a problem with a 2fa in just a week.

There are a wide variety of exchanges to choose from, here are five great exchanges

Binance
Bittrex
Coinbase
Bitstamp
Kucoin

Now this goes for everyone. Please be advised that whenever you make a deposit/withdrawal, only deposit/withdraw the smallest amount just to see if your money will transfer. Once it does then you can go ahead and go all in that same day. Please note that there are thousands of transactions made daily successfully and if you do fear you will be the unlucky one to get a glitch then use the advise by making a small transaction first.

This also goes for if you have already deposited, made some good profit and want to withdraw. Only withdraw with small money then do the rest or larger if everything transferred well. You don’t have to do this if you feel confident but if not this is a great way to stay safe.

Good advice right there. Well, with so many exchanges, you have variety of choices to choose from and maybe some exchanges are not ready yet for large volumes and there may be some glitches so it is better if you go to exchanges that were existing for sometime. As for me, my go-to exchange are:

1. Binance
2. Bittrex
3. Kucoin
4. HitBtc
5. Etherdelta/Forkdelta
6. IDEX

1 Huobi. Advantages: Website easy to use, update many pairs of trade altcoin, token, fast transaction speed.
Disadvantages: High transaction fees. Sellers and buyers are required to pay a fee.
2 binance. High reliability, good customer service, over 100 different types of altcoins and tokens, Multilingual support, 1.4 million transactions per second, Supported by a professional team in the financial and crypto markets, transactions and withdrawals at low cost.
Disadvantages: Some users are delayed when withdrawing from Binance. Because this is a new platform, it is difficult to assess its long-term viability. Currently only China's phone number is supported by two-factor authentication. Binance collects and stores some user data, such as IP addresses.
3 bittrex. Advantages: High level of security, Easy to use, Integration of some features automatically.
Disadvantages: The process of verification is difficult and time-consuming, Slow response to issues related to customer service.

I personally am more comfortable using binance exchanges, because in my opinion binance has several advantages and is also widely used by my friends. and none of the bad news about security that I got from some friends who used binance. so I think binance is safe enough for me to use for exchange.
