Title: Am I the only one this unlucky during my entry into investments and crypto?
Post by: unluckylord on November 21, 2017, 09:36:10 AM
I would like to hear some unlucky stories of people to give myself hope and not just disappointment. Any stories where you got in and lost money and later came back up?

So after a bit of research and all, i start with 1 eth and around that time, the price was 329. I joined binance, i am a noob so i put in just 0.3 eth for learning. I sold 0.1 eth at 331 when that was the highest price for the day, i felt good and bought back a bit cheaper. I did it again, but the price this time kept going up. So I couldnt sell, i had 0.10 more, so i sold it at 334.5 when the highest price that day was like 35.6. I had kept 0.05 eth just for saving, and bought bnb for 0.05 eth. So I needed to buy back 0.2 eth but the price hit 350 that day  and then kept going on. Losing opportunities when price was getting higher felt shitty, but i saw bch fell down to 1155, so i bought it. As soon as I got it, it fell down till 130 or lower lol. I didnt want to sell at lower than what i got it at, so i waited till it got back to 1155, and sold at 1156. The moment I sold, the price spiked and went up to 1180 and quickly to 1999, i remember seeing it at 1300 so i bought it quickly thinking i will still have profit. But when i got done buying at 1199, it went down to 1170 and stayed that way  for the whole day. Earlier today, I managed  to sell it when bch hit 1250, and then i bought back almost the same amount at 1230.  I had a small gain but I was happy and learning. But then, tether had to fuck up shit and everything went down. I panicked. In the end, i ended up converting the bch to eth at a loss, from 0.2 eth worth to 0.18 eth, then sold eth as well thinking it will go down more, would be better to buy at lower. But no in few hours the price slowly started getting back, and I fucked up. I had to buy back at more than what I sold at. I also had invested 0.7 eth into tokens, there was QSP, the price at which it was bought was like 0.00020 eth, and sold it at 0.00021 before it got even lower. I had invested 0.2eth into this to see and just when it came to market, it fucked shit up, i sold the eth from it too. I also had bought cindicator tokens for 0.2 eth, i sold those too, thinking the price is going dowwn I will buy back later, i sold it for 0.18 eth. Basically this shit completely tilted me, and while I learned a lot from this experience, makes me want to just feel so fucking unlucky. Do I still have hope?>

Totally agree! Personally, I'm not all for short term investments, I prefer the longer investments, they are more profitable imo.

It's a lot of people, including the mistakes that many investing veterans make, and can not say that it's a mistake. Should it sell off an altcoin, will it continue to fall? You know, last year, many of the BITTREX exchanges were bears in the bear market, even at half the price of the ICO. It was frightening that individual altcoin was even lower than one tenth the price of the ICO.
I can not laugh because I often make such mistakes.

Yeah, this is not forex. Instead of buying when it is past 1 dollar of your price, wait and you will see that it will increase more. 10 or 20 percent profit is a good level to sell in crypto, but of course it depends on the coin you are trading.
One rule: never bet against bitcoin.

I have 3 tips for you.
1. Do not sell the etherium until it grows to 400, 500 dollars. Sell with a profit of 10 dollars - this is beneficial only for large volumes.
2. Coins that are not so popular, sell at a fall of 20%. Or do not sell at all. Leave them to grow up.
3. Be patient. I bought coins about half a year. I wait when they grow. Patience is important.

Hello,
You are not the only one who did this mistake. I just did this mistake yesterday...
I have to wait for the next pump which may be able to buy it. I have reacted too much with my emotion.
I think, we should be more careful about new coins or coins we are not used to trade. An analyze of the coin is needed before buying it.

I have done the same mistake when I was a newbie albeit on a different coin so you still have hope. You are not fucking unlucky, you just picked up the wrong coin to trade. Always remember to not sell at a loss but not sell on prices that will give you minimal gains. Try to hodl it for more than a day, daytrading is not viable if market is not that volatile in the first place and it carries a lot of risk. Reading a lot about crypto will help you. I am sure that after some months, you'll be gaining a hefty sum of profit if you just hodl coins with potential.

Long term investment (HOLD strategy) has much higher ROI. It's pretty hard to buy and not track something every single day, but you should be consistent in your decision ;)

you're trying to trade and that is usual when you do so. One thing that you have to understand is that you can't predict the market, even if you follow technical indicators you will never be able to predict for sure whether the price will go up or down, it's not possible, because many external factors which can't be influenced by technical indicators are actually moving the prices (regulatory changes etc.) trading has these kind of troubles, that you sell/buy and end up making a loss, so you keep on thinking about what happened and try to justify certain actions, in other words you are getting stressed. That's the life of a trader. If you want to make some profit become a hodler. Which means that you will not sell, only keep on buying and start building stacks, and promise to yourself that you won't sell for the next e.g. five  years.

Thanks everyone, I have taken all your advices and feel hope and better about this. I will become a hodler once I buy back. Hodling life suits me. And especially on low amounts, day trading gets me no where really. I was just doing for experience but it seems like I have got enough now lol.

I actually have had bad experiences too while I tried to invest on btc or altcoins. Few months ago, I started to search for cryptocurrencies and decided to invest on bitcoin but I did want to earn on daily basis so, I watched the trends and it went down at that time :), and I sold it. After that, I tried to get some eth, this time I waited few weeks but nothing changes, and while it was declining, I sold it. Lastly, I bought some ltc and the same thing happened :). The lesson I learned, don't be hurry. There is no guarantee but as mentioned above, I think also that taking your time would be better if you want to earn. But always evaluate the advices, then decide what you want to do.

Market movers are tight with their information and you an't compete so any short term strategy can't work, the game is rigged. On a long term basis you can deduct what the market movers want and you stick with the plan.

Buy low and sell high, everybody says.. but when is it low.. when it is high? When you go into a trade make 2 exit points, one if things go well and the other if they go south. Update them with new price movements.

Be disciplined about it and you'll avoid most disasters.

I agree as well. Start off with long term, then when you have studied/followed a coin that has your interest long enough, you can think about short term or day trading.

Buying some books and getting into the basics would save you money.
However even if you get some knowledge + experience and won't be doing trivial mistakes, it's still not easy to multiply your BTC (by >1 of cource:). I mean it's relatively easy to make some profit in USD on growing market, but making profit in BTC is takes A LOT of skill and sometimes luck.

Dr. Alexander Elder says in his book, that a very good result for the first year of trading is not to give up and not to loose more than 10%. For second year it's good if you get the same you started with. And only third year of daytrading you can hope to make some profit.

So Hodl your coins and it'll save lots of time, nerves and cash. And rather likely than not you'll get some profit.

And a little bonus to support you. Here is the poll about cryptotrading.
https://goo.gl/forms/3XVfqoendEXSVl7E2

You'll find out the results when you complete it.

I did one in one russian telegram channel and got over 150 responses from traders. 65% didn't make any profit. And 70% out of the successful part are trading less than 3 months. So this might be just a luck. Let's find out how things look here on bitcointalk!

Wow you did more trades in a day or couple of days and then I do in the entire month. I think not only in crypto but in stock/futures markets as well patience is the key. The fist thing you need to do is research (at least on what you are buying and why and how long are you planning to keep it). However there are plenty of people who rely on technical analysis alone and have done well. Also second thing you need is an exit plan if the trade doesn't go the way you want it to go (whether you are going to hold it, average it down or cut your losses). I am not a day trader and I can only give you hoddler strategy.

This story is not about you being unlucky, its about you trying to daytrade aggressively (and impatiently) without any experience and expecting to get rich fast and easy. This is not how crypto or any other market works.

With such rather small ethereum amounts I consider would be much better to participate in bounty campaigns. In 1-1.5 monthes you will collect nice crypto portfolio and then will test your luck on it :)

I believe the secret is sticking with the strategy you choose.
If you want to daytrade, then set up some rules for yourself so emotion won't take te upper-hand. Else, hold...

Happens all the time man. Best thing to remember don’t invest what you can’t afford to lose. I’ve made bad trades but habe also made good trades. It’s best to hold coins for a while for bigger profit. One thing I’ve learned is NOT to chase the candles. I personally like your approach starting small to learn. Before you know it you’ll be making trades making descent profit. Stick with it and learn from your mistakes.

it seems like you want to get rich quick
but you are just a beginner and a bit of experience.
no need to rush to sell and buy altcoin.
need research and do not easily panic and carried away emotion.

Stop trying to daytrade and just hold your coins. Keep buying a little bit more with what you can afford each month and you'll see your stack grow back in no time! Trading is for experienced people only, and even those constantly end up losing as well.

I'll tell you about my experience in the cryptocurencies , in the beginning I've invest in a kickico and I lost the half of my money I was so angry from this bad decision, then I decide to recuperate the money that I have lost with another investment so I've invest in paypie which is now from the top 100 now my money was doubled and the price is keeping to rise , so don't be upset keep trying don't give up.

Naw man you're not, and if this is the case you should just stop investing into other cryptos and hold your BTC. You will be much better off and live a less stressful like because you will actually make money and you do not have to waste time looking at charts so you can use your time and energy to make more money. This is what it is all about for newbies, or how it should be anways.

Sounds like you want misery to keep you company.  lol

I haven't exactly been unlucky with crypto, because I don't do a lot of trading--I think most coins other than bitcoin are complete garbage and aren't worth owning even for a millisecond.  But I've owned quite a lot of fiat dollars' worth of bitcoin since I started in 2015, and stupidly I ended up selling it or spending it all.  And we all know exactly what happened since 2015--prices have gone through the roof.  Had I held onto all of that bitcoin, I'd have more money than I've probably ever had in my life.  So yeah, I regret doing all of those trades.  But if you trade bitcoin for shitcoins, you get what you deserve.  Buy-and-hold is the only way to go in my opinion.

You were not unlucky, you simply did not know what you were doing, and then keep making the same mistake over and over again, you need to stop and avoid trading for the time being, read a few books about trading and trade with the minimum amounts possible in the exchange, make small trades and see if you get a profit, if you do you may now trade with larger amounts.

The worst mistake when trading is making panic buys and sells because you made a trade 5 minutes ago and now the price is going the wrong way. If you are going to trade, you need to zoom out on the charts to get some perspective, and you need to understand why a price is changing and have a good idea of whether it will continue that way to give you a strong possibility of a good exit point to make a decent return.
I think I made similar mistakes to you when I started. Another thing to mention is if you are trading a coin against bitcoin, then there is not just the movement of the alt to take into account, but also bitcoin movements against fiat too.

If you day trade and sell while you are losing, and do the same thing repeatedly, certainly you will get broke. I also do day trading but that is just for fun. What ever loses i have, that is part of the gamble and learning. Those amount i invested are just small anyway and i got a mindset that whatever i put in in day trading, those are money considered as lost. If you want a sure gain, choose a nice project and invest on it in long term. Surely its price will rise. Go for ICOs, I suggest.

Look, back in 2014 I have put several thousands of $$ in cryptos and everything that could go wrong went wrong. When my investment shrinked to almost zero and I was a bagholder of useless coins I took a pause of a few years from cryptos, but didn't sell. 3 dollars worth of Solarcoin which I then had in a forgotten wallet are now worth 2000$. And other coins as well. Time fixes things in cryptos.

Wow that is a good story to other people who may have coins that have dumped to near nothing, best to just hold it and see what happens, I think in your case you were very lucky that some of those like Solarcoin revived.

Unlucky at the beginning is a process. Hope still exists if you learn and can control emotions while trading
For beginners I suggest to trade top 10 coins, analysis before trading and try to HOLD because it's hard to get rich with daily trade.

Boy, do we all have these moments in the beginning.

I assure you that this is something that everyone will have to go through sooner or later, and it's good that you're learning from these experiences. Heck, you're lucky that you're not even losing your entire portfolio. At one point earlier in my bitcoining career, i invested in some pump and dump coin on yobit and basically lost 95% or more of my investment.

My advice is to hold for the long term. SHort term, cryptos are way too volatile. Select a few cryptos and hold them till at least 3-4x profitss roll in.

Lol stop doing daytrades.

Buy and hold for weeks or months or even years and you ll see more profit.

Totally agree! Personally, I'm not all for short term investments, I prefer the longer investments, they are more profitable imo.

thats the better thing to do.as you see your not that lucky in daytrades and so eager to gain while the reality is your losing.so why not try to do long term investment .because ETH has a god potential and will increase value in a couple of months.just learn how to wait in crypto patience is the key to succeed

This is really helpful! I will keep these in mind! Thanks! :)

You are not unlucky, you are only been tutored and prepared for life in crypto space. If all the stories you have heard of are that of unlimited and easy profit, I'm sure your exoerience has already burst your bubble. You will be alright with time and you will make money!

I address to the author. Before you go and trade on the stock exchange, you need to have either the knowledge to skilfully make a forecast, or insider information to know what will happen next with the crypto currency. In addition to this, you have newbie errors, such as "buying on the rise." Well and the main thing - to panic it is impossible! So, rather "temper"! Here you need a "cold" head!

You are not unlucky but it is just part of your trading journey and I believe many traders who are profitable traders now have experienced something like this one way or another. It's good that you tried trading and experienced it than just looking at the sidelines afraid of taking a position. This is a lesson for you and you should have a strategy and follow it like I will buy at this price and then sold at this price and if it goes down then you should already have a strategy that if it goes down to a certain percentage, will you sell it or hold it? There's a lot to consider before entering a trade. Do not over trade just because you sold at a loss because you will end up with more losses if you are being emotional when trading.

Right, we should have always back-up plans specially there are really unexpected things do happen along the way which would really surprise us and trading field isnt an exception on such thing. Experience of loss will really mold us to be a better trader later on this is why we should not stress out too much ourselves on those things but rather analyze on what would be the better move incase you did meet it again on that kind of situation. Unlucky is common specially when we are just starting and come to think off that not all of us do start on being professional.

Thanks everyone, I have gone through all comment and as many say, yes I got emotional and it bothered me to lose once so I made it a goal to gain back what I lost and it ended up fucking me. While some think that I might have gotten greedy and wanted to be rich quick, I put in a small amount. It wasnt about being rich, but the satisfaction amd thrill of actually gaining a profit, doesnt matter how small it was to me. Since i am just learning. But yes I got greedy towards that satisfying feeling of selling at more than what i bought at. And yed I am donewith day trading for a while, going to put my hopes in crypto and focus better on analyzing and learning charts and things. Thanks again everyone I appreciate it very much for each advice.

The holders do not make money out of people like him, that is a mistake, holders make money of the overall economic growth of bitcoin and not from the speculation, the ones that make money out of the speculation of the price are another traders since trading is a zero sum game.

Sometimes you gotta call it quits and stop daytrading... Or atleast try it with a smaller portion of your portfolio, so in case it doesn't go well it doesn't ruin your investment plans for the future (that's what i usually do, mostly just for fun).

Investment in cryptos needs good timing and of course giving your trust on it what you did is just trading without setting a good tactic you must study the market and hold your cryptos for a little long because in crypto investment the best way to earn is by holding it for a long period and not sell them anytime you wish. Look how bitcoin appreciate today surely those who hold bitcoin for quite sometime now are a having a good income.

Seconded. Those amount of loses arent too much to stress out your mind since its not really big at all and you are taking up learnings with those amounts compared into some newbies that do normally lose all their entire bankroll because they do mistakenly make a bad move on making entries on buying cryptos. Mistakes are common but we should make a learning from it once we do face it dont just limit yourself to learn up even more.

The secret is to HOLD....kill fear completely and HOLD!!!

Agreed. Emotional/panic trading is the worst thing you can do. The market tends to go up and down in weekly or bi-weekly cycles. Try to buy/sell based on these patterns, but monitor news sites and your trading platform daily so that you can stay ahead of the curve.

Bought CTR tokens for 0.00550 ETH.
Sold today for            0.00089 ETH
84% lose in ETH.
Gladly ETH went up from 300 to 450 USD. So my total lose is a bit lower
75% lose in USD

Invested ~1k USD, and got back only 250USD

Wow where would someone with crypto beginning telling plenty of stories of how they lost money.
Sellings coins at its low and suddenly price spikes. Ive bought hardware for mining and a few weeks spike of price in the coin i liquidated. By double or triple fold. Lose money there.
Trading coins, thinking that the new coins  you traded for was going to make you money, but the coins that you traded ends up going up in price.  Or how about just liquidating some coins to make ends meet, or to spend. But after a few days or week you see the coin you liquidated start spiking in price.
This is very common in cryto. Get used to it and be satisfied with your sell price.

Wow, your approach seems pretty stressful.
There's already a whole bunch of good advice but maybe I can offer some insight.

I would advise that you change your mentality from lucky/unlucky.
It's not gambling or something like the lottery, through careful research and knowledge of crypto economics, you can make some really good informed decisions that will give you returns on your investment.

This is the great wall that most people are not willing to climb.
But I can tell you from personal experience that it is well worth it.  It makes investment much more rewarding personally and also financially as well.

The other advice I can give you is that you approached day trading totally wrong.
Trading in one coin by attempting to buy low and sell high is never going to work because in the long run the value steadily increases.
You need to make smart purchases of altcoins when they are low, sell when they pump, then use the btc or eth you earned to trade in a different coin when it is low.
Through this, you can increase your capital, cause in the end it is basically more btc everyone is after.

Also, 1 eth is not nearly enough to make any kinds of good returns.
Look at your finances, and decide how much a month you can put into crypto and build your portfolio up.
You will never see huge gains unless you put more in.

Good luck!

I think you are consistently  buying at the top, you need to have a better trading strategy than this, investing or trading require discipline and one of the things I found out is that some people over do it and get burnt long run

I agree, day trading is one of those things that can leave a lot of money but only 1 in 100 gets those results, maybe my bitcoin is not going to multiply overnight with that strategy but I'm not going to lose it either, by just following that conservative strategy I have been able to get some bitcoin, not a lot, but at least I have not lost my bitcoin and my profits come mostly from the crazy rally bitcoin is having in the last months.

Lol stop doing daytrades.

Buy and hold for weeks or months or even years and you ll see more profit.
yes i completly agree. investing for a weeks and for a month is the best way to invest. doing trading for a day will make you lose money and even so you gain some its not going to be good cause you would lose some causr what in your mind is gain and cut lose

I've made some mistakes along the way and have seen others make some big mistakes as well. I would follow what others are saying and stay away from day trading unless you are very well versed in it. You'll stress yourself out to the max constantly trying to trade. Holding is your best bet for most. Do some research and find projects you feel will succeed and stick with them long term.

You start small and build up. Your investment should be relative to the risk your taking.

I think you are trading in a hurry, trading will be more profitable if we want to be patient and wait. and try to do some research into coins before investing.

Actually i made a mistake too. I bought ETC in recent days in the price of $28.5. But now its a massive dump and falled down to $22. Almost 50% of my funds are lost. But i keep holding the coins, maybe next week it will pump up again.

Don't do daytrading until you get a feel of the coin, of markets in general and have firm control on your emotion. Swing trading is way safer in crypto.

Yes, of course. The easiest way to get some money is do some research, watch YouTube Videos from some cryptoguys, if you found interesting coins, do your own research an then invest for longterm. For me the easiest way to make a great profit.

That's why cryptocurrency consider as risky investment and it's bad for short term trading.
IMO, bitcoin show a good profit if you invest it for a long term as you can see bitcoin growth over past 7 years, it's grow exponentially !

I wanted to start my post with "I did the same". but i think that 90% of us did the same at the point they entered this world. The fact is that the changes in prices in cryptoworld is very dynamic and for a user  with no experience this is very dangerous. Thats why before you start trading you should learn for a month or two. I`ve learned this from stock markets where if you want to have a chance you should learn for at least 6 months by reading and reading.
For start the safest way is to be a holder and follow some basic rules like never invest what you cand loose , dont sell at a loss, never move youre entire portofolio, dont do any panic sales, dont buy when it`s on top, learn how to spot a correction (thats the best time to buy).

Welcome to the world of day trading, I would suggest you hold onto ETH and maybe only invest 5-10% into new alt coins. Either way, hold onto those as well for profit. selling quickly rarely pays off in a big profit, you will just make a small short term one.

I have also worse stories of other coins which I dumped for nothing and now would be worth millions... and I know other friends with similar stories.

Well, you got something out of this experience...a whole lot of learning! And one of those learings should be DON'T  DAY TRADE DUDE! What you need to see is a TREND..This will help you decide in your trading. A trend is unlikely to be seen in just a day. You need a few days or weeks to see a solid trend. And you need to be patient when trading. It's like watching a tv series...waiting for the climax or peak!

When I first got into crypto I also thought, yeah easy money I will just day trade a bit and multiply my money as everyone in the discord channel I was in back then was talking about. I lost half of the investment in no time and called it a day. Eversince I stick with holding and occasional trades. I only trade when I know exactly what I want to do and why. This worked out quite fine and Im happy with the outcome.

No it happens to many people. People can;t just expect to trade well right awawy. It takes practice and it is better to start slow and make smaller profits that are more of a sure thing. Maybe you will get lucky and coins you own will sky rocket. You couldinvesst the money in a casino and spend the profit on trading or invest in a POS coin and use those profits to buy more coins.

The secret is to HOLD....kill fear completely and HOLD!!!

This really is all one needs to know.

Literally less than 24 hours ago there were people shouting they were all out of XEM because it was doing nothing while other alts were going up.

It has since more than doubled in the time it takes to clean your bedroom.

Provided you keep the faith in the right project and stay put you will always end up better off than self proclaimed know it alls discovering a coin a week ago and declaring it dead when it doesn't instantly deliver for them.

just buy promising projects and hold
promising are big like iota, ada, etc, eth, btc, ... this ones will go up for sure in the future

day trading is for people with big money, so they can make daily profit of few thousands $ and keep the same amount of BTC

Experts of trading and the world of crypto recommend all guys who just start dealing with altcoins begin their business with alts that are in the top-10. It will save them from a fail and let earning.
Additionally it will give them more faith into crypto.

A lot of people have experiences with day trading which is obvious Op is doing but the best is that just take it that winning is not always every time and sometimes when the market looks bad, it's a preparation for something big is about to happen and in some other scenario, its an indication to exit the market. I have my own share too but at the end the lessons as well as the cumulative gain, might outshine the losses if done the right way.

Day trading is for everyone but there is not a doubt in my mind that those that are able to get the biggest amount of capital to trade are the ones that gets the most benefits out of day trading since they can make enough with their daily earnings to pay for their expenses without having to use their capital to do so.

Like in any investment losing money is not something that we should find surprising after all the price goes up and down, the only thing we need to worry is to not make the mistake of buying when the price is too high and then sell when the panic sets in.

To my mind, all people who make short-time investments and try to play on the market, make these mistakes. To my mind, the crypto market isn't Forex. The main thing here is the patience. You should change the strategy and make middle or long time investments and you'll see the good profit.

Don't do daily trade if you can't read the trend or understand technical analysis because it's hard to do. Just buy and hold for 6-1 year as the value will go up. If you insist on trading daily at least read investopedia while you are at it to slowly build your knowledge and experience about trading.

I do not think this is about luck this is about lacking patience, we need to hold that is the easiest strategy and it does not need any fancy skills, the only thing you need to do is to trust bitcoin is going to remain here for a long time and you will make a lot of money by just following that belief.

Dude, if you’re just starting, there’s really no reason to quit. You’re not unlucky. Trading is more of a skill than luck. And you may have not yet gained those skills for you to gain as to your expectation. If you quit, then you won’t be able to get those skills. Failures are part of learning. And learning from our failures will make us better with what we are doing. So keep on trading! Just keep in mind to invest only what you can afford to lose.

May the skills be with you!!!

I agree, people concentrate too much on the fluctuations that happen in the short term instead of just looking at things from a long term perspective and this is what makes them lose money since they are always making mistakes by taking rushed decisions.

The best path for newcomer is to have a deal with stable, well-known currencies. My advice is to keep such currencies as Ripple, Ethereum. These are the best ones. Also it is good to buy Waves, Dash and maybe NEO.

never buy and sell on the same day, the coin price will not change that fast, the right thing is, buy altcoin on the price that is falling, and hold it until the price has made you profit, you can decide yourself want to how high the price of coin the new ride you sell, because we do not know when the coin will fall again

That is the safest path but it is not the path that gives the most profits and most people joining cryptocurrencies for the first time do so in an attempt to make as much money in the shortest time possible an that is why they take bad decisions and invest in the wrong coins at the wrong time.

You are not unlucky you just don't know the proper trading of entry and exit. You should not blame the coins, you are the one responsible for clicking the transaction. The important aspect of trading is knowing the resistance and support line. You already know the fundamentals of coins by researching the next step should be the technical analysis of the coins. One helpful tool also is the Fibonacci retracement here's one example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LznyjkxqrDc. There are lot's of tutorial in Youtube look by yourself.

This was painful to read because I did the same thing when I was new. Overtrading when the real game is to hold.

Think about it. That $329 the OP spent on 1ETH is $1100 or more today just for holding on to it for a couple of months.

Its crazy to bother day trading, just accumulate.

I think you need to go back to basic and learn again the trading analysis before start trade again, everyone ever make a mistake in trading, and this could the lesson for you to learn more, stop stressing yourself with daytrade and don't buy the coin because it's cheap, buy it because it has potential

Lol stop doing daytrades.

Buy and hold for weeks or months or even years and you ll see more profit.

Totally agree! Personally, I'm not all for short term investments, I prefer the longer investments, they are more profitable imo.

Short is also profitable. I can take your point because short trade is more dangerous and risk.
For newbie is not recommended to do day trade because it needs skill and mentality. Not greedy and patient waiting moment is the key.

You're not the only one. My friends, who started 3 years ago, have made good progress. And I've spent a lot of time since October and still no profit. Every day I am pleased that there is no fast money in this world.

May be he want to earn daily profits, well everybody does. But you have a point as it goes well for me too, holding a little while and earning decently.

As much as everyone wants to have invested as early as possible, it's still never too late to get into crypto.

You just have to think about the long term, easier said than done, I know but yeah...

Its always seems like that, when you join the space and you did not take the rigth step,in terms of your approach to issues,
But with consistency, you will earn real big.

Let's be honest. It really i a bit of gambling. skills help, just like in gambling, but you need some luck too.

I came in chose my coins and holded them, despite the crashes. recently like many my assets have halved. For now i see no problem. Too many people will come in and raise the prices again.

Nevertheless shortterm trading works too, but has more risk and historically its gains are likely less than holding a good coin. But that could change in the future. This is a market which is changing rapidly.

Yeah no one is that unlucky, someone trading with no knowledge will probably do a better job, it seems he has the principles backwards and that is why he always invest at the wrong time and when that happens that should be an alarm that he is not doing things right and it is time to study trading from the beginning once again.

Nope you're not friend. I first got into BTC when it was 4000 and when it hit 6k I thought it was unnreal so sold it at what I thought was 'the peak'. Saw it then boom up to 10k, so FOMOd in and bought it there. Have been hodling it since even after it reaches 19k, and now its back down to 8k at the time of writing so I'm technically down again.

You're damned if you HODL, damned if you don't. If I hodled at 4000, and sold at 19,000, I'd have done well. But of course I didn't. I think your story is a common one amongst many of us traders in crypto that try to time the highs and lows. Better to just stick to the long term vision.
