Some countries governments may go AGAINST Bitcoin considering the loss of taxation, threat to the governance loosing hold on the country.
May be criminal activities using bitcoins can not be detected due to decentralisation and a law and order of the countries can be affected.
Since every technology has pros and cons like that way different countries may face different challenges to make it legal so can go against it.

So if a goverment goes against bitcoin in a specific play and some1 uses it that means he might face the justice right?

Most likely yes! Government will not support bitcoin directly because it is against their centralization policy. Government wants to control every kind of money circulation in their country. However, bitcoin is against that idea of centralization. So this is against the government policy. Bitcoin circulation can't be controlled by any government which is again against their idea. So it is least likely a government will support bitcoin. Not every government is progressive like Japan.

Government will definitely fight Bicoin because of the decentralized  nature of Bitcoin. Anything that the government will not control they will fight against it. Government are losing taxes in all the transaction that involves bitcoin and they do not like it.

Then i guess they wont be able to exchange drugs and money. The only they gonna do it its like ex change based on value. like 1kg cocaine for a car.(example)

I dont think governments really want to go against bitcoin, maybe only if they would want to create their own cryptocurrency so they would have to destroy bitcoin or get it to a low price. But this would be pretty hard for them because it is not easy to create a good cryptocurrency that has more advantages than bitcoin and also it is hard to take down bitcoin.

Governments can apply taxes for persons who use bitcoin and wouldn't have to worry about creating another cryptocurrency and also taking care of bitcoin. By doing this they would get a pretty big profit because thousands of people use bitcoin and they would all pay taxes.

If they would really want of course they can destroy bitcoin becauss governments have all the power and they can do anything. A simple official law from a single big government like China would be enough to take bitcoin price to half of its value. Think if all governments would accept this law. Then bitcoin would have no value.

This is not just possible, but inevitable in countries with autocratic governments. Governments which have total control, with no time for niceties such as freedom of the people, will hate being unable to control Bitcoin. At some point, they will begin a crackdown.

A high percentage to go against it and it is already happening.
Banning them in their countries which i dont know what deeper reasons could there be.

Keeping our privacy is what we aee dealing here and they dont want that. Government ID's and other registration stuffs proves it.
They want to tax you to every income you will get and if they cannot get anything from you then you can go to jail.

Yes most of the country will not accept the legal way. It good helpful for the future growth and it will gather information. But some country accept the bitcoin legal way. So it good opportunity for the future growth. Bitcoin is become a future currency. So bitcoin will helpful to future improvement and investment. people growth is country growth so bitcoin will helpful for the future life change.

Yes, a government may go against bitcoin if they see it bad for them.. Governments usually like to control money circulation in their countries, other reasons may be using bitcoin for crimes because it's much harder to trace than fiat money

So if a goverment goes against bitcoin in a specific play and some1 uses it that means he might face the justice right?

Of course, if your government bans bitcoin you will be punished if you use it.
Anyway, few countries ban bitcoin atm so I don't think you should worry about it unless you're living in one of those countries.

Now that im thinking about that. What about drug lords? Its something against them. If like in 20-30 years Printed money are not existed. And everything is digital. Then i guess they wont be able to exchange drugs and money. The only they gonna do it its like ex change based on value. like 1kg cocaine for a car.(example)

If bitcoin ever replace fiat (printed) money they will be able to exchange it easily using smartphones, so this won't be a problem.

Yes you talk right because bitcoin currency will not any tax give government. All government want to tax all works. If any person  will not given tax so it is illegal.. Then the government wants to take action against those people.

Is there any chance goverments to go against bitcoin if they see its something against them??

There is 50-50% chances according to me because there are many countries which are wiling to accept the bitcoin while there are few of the countries which are against it already. Now why country to country acceptance is important? Because the reason is simple, the global economy of bitcoin is due to all countries investment into bitcoin or blockchain more specifically. If countries starts loosing the blockchain then we will loose the market.

Alos, few government mayn't be able to support the thing as we will need money to be flown form all over the globe for its complete redistribution. If that doesn't happen then supportive government will go against the bitcoin. There won't be another chance and hence unity of each and everyone is very important here.

Is there any chance goverments to go against bitcoin if they see its something against them??

always be careful with governments, you never know the ideas of a political party

" Bangladesh

In a statement the Central Bank of Bangladesh cited concerns over bitcoin’s lack of “a central payment system” which could lead to people being “financially harmed”. It invoked the provisions of the Foreign Currency Control Act of 1947 and the Money Laundering Control Act of 2012. Then, added that trading in bitcoin and other digital currencies could lead to a punishment of up to 12 years in prison. "

" Bolivia

The central bank of Bolivia, El Banco Central de Bolivia said in a statement:

It is illegal to use any currency that is not issued and controlled by a government or an authorized entity.”  "

" China

It is a common misconception that bitcoin and digital currency are totally banned and illegal in China, but China has become the world’s largest bitcoin trading market. The bitcoin ban is strictly on banks, as the central banking authority, The People’s Bank of China is owned 70% by the Chinese government. Banking institutions and employees are banned from engaging in bitcoin business through banking, as well as servicing or doing business with the bitcoin industry. Trading or mining in bitcoin is not illegal for common citizens.  "

" Ecuador

The ban by Ecuador makes the most sense of any ban, as they are building a national electronic cash system, so they feel the need to protect their new currency from something clearly superior. A decentralized currency of finite production that cannot be manipulated by governments or banks might dim the lights on their new program in the eyes of the public, which offers none of those benefits. "

Iceland

As of March 19, 2014 the Central Bank of Iceland issued a statement explaining the legal status of digital currency in Iceland. Purchasing them may violate the Icelandic Foreign Exchange Act, which specifies that Icelandic currency cannot leave the country. A nebulous designation, but it sounds like it is banned, in effect. "

India

Indian BankBTCXIndia was the first bitcoin exchange designed and built in India. While following KYC and AML guidelines, and allowing instant INR (Indian rupee) deposits and withdrawals, BTCXIndia was forced to close by their bank, which no longer services bitcoin businesses. The reasons are unknown, whether it is based on a perceived risk or just a simple ban by management, but the issue is widespread in India.

“We have today been informed by our bank that they will no longer serve bitcoin businesses,” the notice stated. “We have investigated the possibility to operate through other banks, but it seems this is a general policy in India as of today.” "

" Russia

Even with the recent legal victory in Ural recently, setting a legal precedent to lift the banning of websites related to bitcoin and other digital currencies, bitcoin is banned in practice, if not officially legal yet. With the Russian ruble rebounding, but still down over 30% from January 2014, banks and the national government aren’t looking kindly on those who are investing in other currencies, digital or not.

Gold purchases are frowned upon in Russia, so proceed with caution.  "

" Sweden

Bitcoin has suffered a small banning in the buying and selling of scrap metal and “waste products”. This sets a bad precedent of government interference for the future, but so far the ban is restricted to this industry by all accounts. "

" Thailand

According to news reports, the Bank of Thailand ruled bitcoin illegal on July 29, 2013. However, it appears “it issued a preliminary ruling that using bitcoins . . . was illegal because of a lack of existing laws” in the case of a currency exchange license application by Bitcoin Co. Ltd.

Bitcoin businesses have been able to conduct business and get licensing, but the ban technically is still there, if not in practice currently. "

" Vietnam

Back in February of 2014, Vietnam banned the virtual currency bitcoin for use by credit institutions, citing its ease of use for criminal purposes and its high risk for investors.

Transaction by bitcoin is highly anonymous so bitcoin can become a tool for crimes like money laundering, drug trafficking, tax evasion, illegal payment ” the central bank said in a statement "

Major of the countries have not banned bitcoin yet. The reason can be that: 1. They are still don't think that bitcoin can be a problem for them (they don't belive that bitcoin have a future). 2. They are still trying to find out how to tax incomes coming from bitcoin, and after they don't have to ban it. This is better for the economy as well, and if they don't find any way to tax bitcoin they still have the possibility to ban it at the end. But I think ban is not the priority because it doesn't generate income for the government.

For the moment bitcoin is not as mainstream as we all want it to be so it has not caught the eye of many governments except a very few that wants to put their dictatorship even to it, like Russia for example who threatened to put to jail persons caught using bitcoins a few months ago. There is a good article which you can read in Investing.com (http://Investing.com) with the title: Bitcoin:The real Trump trade   for every one to read.

In order for the government to go against Bitcoin they will have to ban the whole internet of the country. There are already countries who banned bitcoin other than china, so this is just a normal event on the cryptocurrency world. Also there are some countries already who trusted bitcoin and make it one of their currency, and one of them is Japan, so rest assured, bitcoin will still live and will keeping booming as always and will sooner lead to revolutionary period throughout the world industry. Other factors the government can use to go against BTC is to Ban mining, ICO, Ban exchanges
etc.

There are counties who already banned bitcoin. But that isn't because of bitcoin will do something against them. Different reasons behind those banned and you can search for that by yourself if you really want to know more.

Don't want do go beyond discussion on these as your concern is the chances. Instead I want to say to you that don't mind those as if you will look at the outer picture, bitcoin is still reachable by majority of countries in the world.

Yes, it is highly possible. Some governments have already started to fight with Bitcoin. Unfortunately, some of them decided to ban it. However, these are extreme examples and only poor countries which have problems with inflation prohibit using of Bitcoin. Authorities hate Bitcoin because they can't control it (creating additional bitcoins). I doubt that any big country will ban Bitcoin completely. Even China wants to allow Bitcoin trading again.

I think for bitcoin to work and stuff(other currencys) big countrys or names have to get in the game. Like USA / Japan / China and stuff. Then others gonna follow. They always do.

Maybe it can be possible if you're living in a communist country but if you're not and your in a democratic country, the government will give you freedom with bitcoin to have your independent ways of earning money. I believed that in a country with wide acceptance of bitcoin it will make their economy progressive.

But government has the final decision to ban bitcoin if they want and people can't do anything about it. So Yes, government can go against bitcoin if they want to. But there's always two opposing side, there will be government that will totally put the hammer ban while there are nation which are bitcoin friendly like Japan. We can't blame though those nations that will go against bitcoin, they not just have a narrow mindset, but they don't understand what's the effect of bitcoin to their community. All they know is that bitcoin is being used for illegal activity. Bitcoin has a lot of positive things that can really bring good results to their economy.

Not all governments  are getting hated to bitcoin,  in fact they just push their people to be a part of this largest and fastest growing investment just like in Japan,  Vietnam. Though some countries are keep silent towards on this but I think they are just supporting  this because bitcoin is really a big help for their people in terms of financial. And they realized also that bitcoin  will have a huge potential to help their economy and it will make a big changes in our life as we go through it.

Of course governments are going to go against Bitcoin. It goes against everything the powers that be have built. Sure there are a majority of people that aren't part of what really goes on behind the scenes and they have families so eventually you will see people start to leave the old system and enter the new system which is much safer and built on a universally immutable ledger.

Yes governments can go against bitcoin in fact right now mang of them are in that position they just can't go over because of the increasing demand in bitcoin and tge fact that there are some countries supporting bitcoin. Another thing is that I think government are still looking for the solutions so they can take the control over bitcoin transactions within their area  covered which is up to this time is unresolved but just in case surely government if they can't control bitcoin they may probably banned it

Governments certainly can go against bitcoin and can ban exchanges from accepting fiat currency to but BTC or other altcoins. A lot of countries are coming around to making bitcoin legal though. Depending on what country you are in it varies greatly.

China seems to ban and unban bitcoin a lot, which i think is very comical. They can't exactly ban someone from it if that person is using a VPN and goes around firewalls. It would be really hard for an exchange to operate legally though in many countries, as the burden is very great on licensing.

However, bitcoin is against that idea of centralization. So this is against the government policy. Bitcoin circulation can't be controlled by any government which is again against their idea. So it is least likely a government will support bitcoin. Not every government is progressive like Japan.

Maybe it will happen that druglords or other criminal activities will used bitcoin, because bitcoin did not trace every transaction they have by our government. Being decentralization of bitcoin our government nothing do with people who used or hiding their personalities. But we hope that it won't be happen that they abused bitcoin using criminal activities.

Governments can't do much to stop cryptocurrencies at the moment. In most western countries there would be massive protests and the people would not allow it.

They will not ban it, they will regulate it to make it safe (and taxable ;D)

There's a chance of course,  but most governments probably don't honestly care as long as they can collect whatever taxes they want when bitcoin/altcoins are transferred to fiat.  At the worst,  I feel that they might try to somehow tax bitcoins/altcoins.

Being of a decentralized bitcoin no bodies behind this that you can blame, so maybe there's a point that government trying to against bitcoin but they nothing to do just to accept. Besides bitcoin help people to support their financial problem and also help the economical growth of our country. Lately here our country announced by our local media on august 21,2017  that bitcoin recognized and regulate by our central bank virtual currency exchanges.

There's a chance of course,  but most governments probably don't honestly care as long as they can collect whatever taxes they want when bitcoin/altcoins are transferred to fiat.  At the worst,  I feel that they might try to somehow tax bitcoins/altcoins.

I guess taxes is the answer , thats the common solution i see also.

I think nothing new in this, things like this have happened in the past. For example, countries where Bitcoin is declared illegal, saw Bitcoin as a potential to illegal activities and thought it may harm the economy of the country and declared ban on it. Government are the main power holders of country and if things go against them they will surely take every possible step to eradicate the problem, whether it is for benefit of citizens or not. They first look at their own benefits.

There are some countries in the world that already banned bitcoin in their place. There are also some countries that legalize it. The government has the power whether to ban or to legalize it in their country. But those countries who legalize bitcoin, have a better and more developed economy.

There are countries that consider the crypto currency to be illegal and try to prohibit or restrict its use (Bangladesh, Bolivia, China, Ecuador, Iceland, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Russia, Thailand, Vietnam, etc.)

As the crypto currency is spreading, governments around the world are wondering whether it is worth developing a legal framework to actively introduce digital currency into the economy. But for the time being, some countries have not agreed to give a chance to bitcoin, since they can not apply existing laws to their regulation, which depend on the definition of the concept of crypto currency in each individual country. Others preferred to prohibit bitcoin, and some even tried to create a bill for this purpose. In any case, it will be quite difficult to eradicate the crypto currency, because of its decentralization. So, of course, people have enough time to feel all the benefits of digital money, even if the legal status of bitcoin remains uncertain.

of course. for example, vietnam's central bank announced last month (https://www.coindesk.com/vietnams-central-bank-announces-ban-on-bitcoin-payments/) that cryptocurrencies are not a "lawful means of payment." they also said that the "issuance, supply, use of bitcoin and other similar virtual currency as a means of payment is prohibited."

it sounds like they've made it a criminal offence. i expect to see similar actions taken elsewhere, particularly by smaller and/or more autocratic governments. i heard rumors recently that morocco's government is planning a similar ban.

Honestly, the U.S. government is already going against it.

how so? the CFTC just formally allowed ledgerX to register as a BTC swap execution facility. and fully regulated CME futures markets are expected to open next month.

if the US government were moving against bitcoin, why would they be approving new, regulated markets for bitcoin speculation?

There have been already quite a few governments who decided to ban Bitcoin. The most recent example is China which doesn't allow you to trade Bitcoin there. The rest of the countries are small ones with big economical problems. People from those countries started to invest in Bitcoin because its value is constantly growing unlike their national currency.

Some government act against bitcoin like banned it or something  i think they're just scared because they can see the potential of bitcoin but some government see it's potential and use it instead. I think the government that use and see the potential of bitcoin will gonna have a brighter future than those who goes against it.

Government will definitely fight Bicoin because of the decentralized  nature of Bitcoin. Anything that the government will not control they will fight against it. Government are losing taxes in all the transaction that involves bitcoin and they do not like it.

Well i habe to say i agree with you on this statement to some degree. Governments will always try to control what they don't know or understand. Now i don't know about other countries but in the USA i know the internal revenue service has been taxing people on bitcoin for like 4 years.

Already this has been taking place in some countries, but majority of the governments show neutral response to the cryptocurrency and bitcoin in specific. Few governments tend to make it an regulated asset, so that it is possible to tax it and government feel benefited like other forms of properties, stocks, gold trade that is taxable.

They might prohibit BTC in some countries in which they is no system to speak of (where the president and officials can do whatever they want with no legislative restrictions) mainly because of the possibility of exchanging their currency and BTC directly, possibly lowering it's value.

The government is the one who set standards and regulates the important aspects of the country. The main duty and responsibility of the government is to provide the people basic ways and means to survive.  The government always makes decision and actions in accordance of the law. Which is their main goal is to provide what is best for their fellowmen. The government is not against in the concept of cryptocurrency in their country. In fact they grab the opportunity to go with the flow of modernization.  Some countries cannot afford to deal with bitcoin ;not just because of they think it’s illegal but they know that their country is not yet capable for that opportunity. Many countries are not yet ready because they are civilized and lack of knowledge about the technology. Through this they cannot easily adopt the concept of electronic banking. The company and the people will suffer at the end, so that the government provide a law to protect the interest of each other.

This is something we should fear of because if more people will be caught doing illegal stuff using bitcoin chances are it can permanently banned all over the world

Maybe some governments are against bitcoin so their way of showing that the government is against it is banning bitcoin in their country. Because they can't control it and can't track the transactions, they believe that bitcoin will be a threat in their country so they are banning it. I think that is their way of showing that they are against bitcoin.

Most Governments (and banks) will be against bitcoin because it SCARES them. Because cryptocurrencies are off limits to them and wont be regulated by them in any means. Going to the fact that bitcoin will soon change the future it is intriguing how the banks are attempting hard to ban bitcoin. Since then bitcoin offers an alternative and easier way compared to banking processes it is then (maybe) the absolute reason why people in the government and banks are very wary of it.
But always put in mind that it is highly unstable and is really a big BUBBLE which may pop out in mid-air anytime. Well, who knows.

This is not just possible, but inevitable in countries with autocratic governments. Governments which have total control, with no time for niceties such as freedom of the people, will hate being unable to control Bitcoin. At some point, they will begin a crackdown.

What about Belarus?. It's a dictatorship, yet they are planning on full legalizing bitcoins by next year.

Just as a dictatorship they are free to change their mind at any time. On a democracy I would weight in such announcements onto further price discovery. Until Belarus has settled on facts they don't count.
Their surroundings might be of interest. Peer pressure upon small countries.

Government is against bitcoin because has alot of potential that government wanted to get but they cant its because government has no hold in bitcoin, specially when it comes to tax, bitcoin has no tax so government cannot get income to it and it is very alarming to the government its because they cant track the transactions in bitcoin  and they also found out that terorrist and druglords uses bitcoin in their illegal transactions and also bitcoin offers less hassle or easier offers rather than banks so the government is really worry on it because the are afraid that alot of people will invest in bitcoin rather than bank because bitcoin keep on increasing.

Some countries consider bitcoin as a big threat. It can economically change the world map soon and some will take advantage of that. It also can represent a threat of national security. Taking advantage of the total security, bitcoin can be a way to fund some criminal activities. It's too bad to see some individuals use such a great thing like bitcoin in such low activities.
I hope governments figure out how to control these type of activities to avoid going against bitcoin which is the wrong decision.

That is very possible once because there are currently some governments that support and also prohibit the use of Bitcoin. Maybe they are still thinking about the impact of using Bitcoin. Personally I feel that the government might be against Bitcoin, they should think about how the economy in the country can be stable. If they are not ready then Bitcoin can disrupt the country, while if they are ready then Bitcoin can increase the level of a country's economy.

The biggest advantage and disadvantage of bitcoin is anonymity,so their country people can easily use bitcoin for illegal activities so some countries decided that they don't want such type of currency for them so they banned it.But bitcoin will help in increase the economy level of their country people so some countries legalized bitcoins.Maybe governments have to make rules for using bitcoin in their country so it will allows the country's people to use bitcoin with some restrictions. And also stops from totally banning the bitcoin.

Bitcoin can also be lucrative for a country so why would they go against it? They can impose taxes on exchanges if they want to to generate revenue for the country.

It was possible that government will go againsts bitcoin well if they see that it will not benefits its people and its country. Government only wants to protect its people and country. So i think its only natural if they go againsts it. But it will be better if they study and have more knowledge about Bitcoin and its functions , benefits and etc.
Most of the governments right now are against bitcoin because they just think that bitcoin is a threat for them since bitcoin is decentralized and anonymous which can triggers the criminals to do more illegal transactions because they will think that they are not traceable which is true because of the feature of bitcoin and that is the reason why governments are still skeptical for making bitcoin as an official digital currency.

Governments haven't anything to cry about when talking about bitcoin at the moment except that criminals use it to lay low and the radars and it may had made an easier way for corruption funding and "under the table" deals . Yet if there's anything that might push governments to go against bitcoin is making it taxable so they can get their share from it yet this is a very difficult task since tracking bitcoin holders is technically impossible because bitcoin's concept was clearly set up to be incompatible with any government .

Earlies bitcoins scope was limited to developed economies. Along with its price its popularity started increasing. Now Bitcoin is becoming more and more popular a in developing countries. Many bitcoin exchanges started their operations in developing countries as well as in African countries. Due to bitcoins decentralised and autonomous nature it is difficult to trace the bitcoin user. Due to this function illegal activists started using bitcoin as a medium of exchange. So governments like China,Japan, Indonesia, Australia have decided to ban and regulate bitcoin in their region. They will allow bitcoins functioning only after some regulations.

At first when bitcoin was released, when it was only used by a couple of people bitcoin did not prove to be a problem for goverments so thye ddin't pay attention to it, a few years later it started gaining more popularity and had its price going up, they just ignored it because econnemist thought that it is just a buble and soon it will drop down, but now with so many people using it and earning thaousands of dollars from its rise, they are faced with tow options either they accept it as a payment method or ban it and piss of a lot of people, either way they are unable to controll it or prevent the users from trading with it because bitcoin is uncontrolled by any one and it provieds complete discreat for the ones who use it, so the point is it does not matter wether goverments ban it or not people are still going to use it, accepting it will make it more popular, and banning it will not affect its users very much.

Can governments or international government organizations implement their own centralized crypto currencies and ban the mining or ownership of open decentralized ones like Bitcoin and Litecoin? Answer to this question is crystal clear and straight forward. Yes, they can. But the unanswered part of the question is, how effectively they can destroy Bitcoin.

China has already banned cryptocoin trading and the cryptos market only grew after that. So there is not a goverment large enough to stop crypto's.

Cryptocoins will always have places to take hold and grow even if let's say EU, USA, Russia and already China banned crypto's.

There will always be places in the World who value FREEDOM and FREE MARKETS.

Those entities holding the most power right now, EU, USA, Russia will eventually ban all crypto's and try to destroy them throum QUANTUM COMPUTING.

Lets make it specific, as Bitcoin became a tool for such things that the people affects badly or the entire country affects badly it is possible that the Government will stand against bitcoin, but lets be realistic ain't no such thing reason for the Government to go against bitcoin or to banned bitcoin because bitcoin isn't as bad as we think nor dangerous but rather it helps a lot of people especially the technology literate, and for some reason bitcoin is a quiet a good part time job.

Perhaps transferring a sentiment of uncertainty would cause large investors and organizations in a country to deviate from legitimizing bitcoin through investments but that doesn't have much if any impact on functionality for citizens in the country, and more so elsewhere. So governments are kind of also afraid of missing out.

Most countries in the world do not accept bitcoin. Due to the bitcoin's security, governments are worried about the use of bitcoin for malicious purposes and the government can not levy taxes from bitcoin transactions.
That's the problem since its decentralized government fear about the involvement of being use in an illegal act and there's also possibilities that bitcoin or any other crypto will be use too in some money laundering that will harmed government so they are against it.

Different countries have separate ideas about bitcoin.Japan has legalized bitcoin while other south east asian countries like vietnam, south korea have taken actions against bitcoin.Russia is also taking a stand against bitcoin since its president putin termed bitcoin as a pyramid scheme.Even in bangladesh, imprisonment is given for persons using bitcoin. But in future, they could not totally avoid bitcoin and they would have to regulate bitcoin and no other option would be there for them.

Since China banned ICO's and closed down some of its crypto currency exchanges, the question of "Ultimate Ban of Bitcoin" is there in the mind of most of the crypto investors.

No, they cant ban the bitcoin as bitcoin is decentralized. Even if they stop the mining farms or they stop bitcoins being used in certain places legally, they cant stop the bitcoin overall worldwide. People will and can still use it.
The idea of creating a digital currency is a good one but then than will just be considered as an altcoin and each country's government might have to put in extra effort to make their currency more valuable and might have to use govt. funds to artificial pump it.

the government may be heading to block Bitcoin given the loss of tax regulations, a threat to governmental negligence against the country. bitcoin can not be detected because decentralization and state laws and regulations can be affected.
Because every technology has its pros and cons, different countries may face the challenge of making it legal so they can deal with it.

Now that im thinking about that. What about drug lords? Its something against them. If like in 20-30 years Printed money are not existed. And everything is digital. Then i guess they wont be able to exchange drugs and money. The only they gonna do it its like ex change based on value. like 1kg cocaine for a car.(example)
its far from reality physical money wont be gone thats for sure even
how far bitcoin goes, and going back to what have you said that drugs exchanging
Its not about just the physical exchange that matter.because criminal element is
More updated than the glvernment element they have more resources so its not
Impossible for them to transact even without the presence of physical money.

And even if government do action against bitcoin.but as long as
Internet is present bitcoin or crypto will still go.

Other factors the government can use to go against BTC is to Ban mining, ICO, Ban exchanges
etc.

So if a goverment goes against bitcoin in a specific play and some1 uses it that means he might face the justice right?
the government against bitcoin I think it is too much for a country that has a democratic system of government in some countries that has banned bitcoin but only in communist countries alone because the communist state strictly regulates its nation's economy so many policies are killing people's economic creativity. It is true there is news that bitcoin is used for crime, but we can see also that many people benefit from bitcoin so that all this technological advancement depends on the user not the technology.

Taxes are the most important part that lead to the development and governments are not that much against bitcoin they just have some of concerns on it and as they will understand about these than there will be nothing to contradict as anonymity is concern and tax collection is bit difficult to in bitcoin but if the region completely will accept bitcoin then these concerns will be clarified easily to give ease to people.

Most likely yes! The government will not support bitcoin directly because it is against their centralized policy. The government wants to control every kind of money circulation in their country.
a government isnt inherently centralized in their policies, unless the government is authoritarian. taking a democratic government as an example (the us government in this case, as that is the one i'm most familiar with), idealistically, the government should be making its policies to serve the interests of the constituents, not itself or its legislators. however, the congressmen / women of the us government are corrupt pretty often (usually the republicans) and make policies and cast votes that tend to favor either themselves or their donors that essentially control them.

The government is likely to oppose bit coin.Bit coin can easily be sent easily without anyone knowing the highest amount. But the identity of the sender and the identity of the receiver is hidden. This can easily cover the amount of black money. Can be used for illegal acts.Bit coin value is very high, so if the bit coin comes into use it will decrease the value of many countries.
and that's something unique to bitcoin how? exactly, its not. i can hand someone a suitcase full of bills and no one else would know. and in this instance, it would be even more anonymous than bitcoin, because there isnt a public ledger anyone can search to find the sender and recipient. the money can just as easily used for illegal purposes.

The Australian government is very open to Block-chain technology and has supported Australian ICO - Power Ledger. The Australian Taxation Organization (ATO) has the following to say about Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies.

Transacting with bitcoin

Transacting with bitcoin is akin to a barter arrangement, with similar tax consequences. Our view is that bitcoin is neither money nor a foreign currency, and the supply of bitcoin is not a financial supply for goods and services tax (GST) purposes. Bitcoin is, however, an asset for capital gains tax (CGT) purposes.

You need to keep the following records for bitcoin transactions:

the date of the transactions
the amount in Australian dollars (which can be taken from a reputable online exchange)
what the transaction was for
who the other party was (even if it’s just their bitcoin address).
Using bitcoin for personal transactions

Generally, there will be no income tax or GST implications if you are not in business or carrying on an enterprise and you simply pay for goods or services in bitcoin (for example, acquiring personal goods or services on the internet using bitcoin).

Where you use bitcoin to purchase goods or services for personal use or consumption, any capital gain or loss from disposal of the bitcoin will be disregarded (as a personal use asset) provided the cost of the bitcoin is $10,000 or less.

Using bitcoin for business transactions

If you receive bitcoin for goods or services you provide as part of your business, you will need to record the value in Australian dollars as part of your ordinary income. This is the same process as receiving non-cash consideration under a barter transaction. The value in Australian dollars will be the fair market value which can be obtained from a reputable bitcoin exchange, for example.

When receiving bitcoin in return for goods and services, a business may be charged GST on that bitcoin. If the supply of the goods and services was a taxable supply, the business will be able to claim input tax credits on the GST charged on the bitcoin they received as payment.

I think the Australian will be a leader in the Block-chain technology and cryptocurrencies :)

so what if it is? cash is used in illegal trades, so are gold, silver, guns, whatever, you name it. as long as it has value to the buyer / seller, it can and will be used. not to mention, with these physical items, these are even more untraceable than bitcoin, with the blockchain readily available to show each and every transaction that has ever taken place. and i dont think bitcoin is big enough to impact the economy of a country to that extent at this point. and if it ism the country's economy shouldn't be 'good' enough to support wide bitcoin usage, but im no expert, just a good gut feeling.

I believe as cryptocurrencies grow in adoption and usability, we’ll see more black markets adopt cryptocurrencies as the standard medium of payment, and it will be a great concern by the government. Bitcoin will be the only threat the economy of the country when tax evasion or money laundering happens.

The only way that will happen is for the government to embrace bitcoin and drive out some economic policy that could regulates it activities.

Government will not fully oppose bitcoin and also it won't announce the usage officially. To make bitcoin usage official, it may take some more days. But it will not go against bitcoin. A lots of issues occured regarding bitcoin tagging it as a fraud and with other issues, it is clear that it was individual person's point of view and not the decision of the government. Though few countries are against bitcoin, Most of them have started accepting it officially.

of course, because with the bitcoin, the government is clearly at a disadvantage, because the income of the state comes from the tax on the assets of the people's wealth, and if the people themselves change their assets into bitcoins, the state tax automatically decreases. then it is likely that the government will fight bitcoin

In some countries, bitcoin has been banned. I do not think this will be beneficial to the government. The importance of bitcoin to people in many countries is really needed. It helps to prevent unemployment today. There are also some benefits to bitcoins. People have stable income, the country can grow

Does the government fight bitcoins or does it prohibit bitcoins from operating in the territory?
In my opinion, bitcoin does not affect the government, it is only difficult to control with bitcoin income, bitcoin to help the economy of the country stronger.
Bitcoins are very difficult to control in terms of income and taxes are up there in so many countries banned bitcoins 8) 8) 8)

I think there is no reason that any government can be against bitcoin because bitcoin is not that kind of currency which will make any problem for any government because bitcoin is playing always with positive mind because bitcoin want to change world and its intention is to end poverty from world so I don’t think so that anyone can banned or stop bitcoin and some countries have already make bitcoin legal in their countries.

Just read a news coming from one of the biggest tb network here in my country, after bitcoin hit $10k mark, there was an announcement came from the Security and exchange commision and central bank that people should be careful with investing with cryptocurrencies.  Because it is not registered or the government has no say with it.  If its price goes down reall hard or it is gone then people who invest with it will no longer get their money as it is not regulated by the government.  So maybe there would be a chance that our government will step up.

Although there is nothing that can stop a government or central bank from banning Bitcoin (& a few have already done so), most would not go that far for two reasons:
- The Streisand effect
- A ban on Bitcoin is difficult to enforce.

I think the government do not will against bitcoin, though they do not legalize bitcoin but they will not forbid people to use bitcoin. The government will only urge to always be careful to transact with bitcoin, because the government will not be responsible if something unexpected happens.
I have pretty same opinion regarding government’s attitude about bitcoin and other digital currencies. No government wants to lose control over its public and wealth.

Indeed, all governments are running on centralized policies and even banks but bitcoin is antagonist to them which is the basic reason governments fear bitcoin. Bitcoin is therefore public currency not another service for corrupt people to nail innocent people.

That would be a milestone to the bitcoin community being supported by developed countries.  But actually I think bitcoin is already supported by those countries.  Not just declaring that it is legal but knowing bitcoin and allowing it to their government then it means that it is already accepted.

Many countries which allowed bitcoin as a legal currency now deciding to ban or regulate bitcoins. Bitcoin is a decentralised peer to peer exchange currency. So it is difficult for the government to keep control over its transactions. All bitcoin transactions get recorded in a public ledger called blockchain so no one can break or trace it, as a result government cannot impose tax on it. Indonesia recently put a complete ban on bitcoin by giving reason that bitcoin is creating a threat to their fiat currency. Australia is banning/ regulating bitcoin because, bitcoin is getting used in drug trafficking and terrorist activities.

You should rather hope that the under developed countries should adopt Bitcoin, because they stand to gain the most. A lot of

the third world countries have a huge problem with unemployment and technologies like Bitcoin bring a lot of opportunities

and informal job opportunities. Cross border micro payments will also help to alleviate poverty in these countries. The problem

is most of these governments are being ruled by dictators and communist regimes.  >:(

I think many governments are afraid because bitcoin csn cause a lot of changes and defer from the norm. At present, cryptocurrency market poses a threat to the taxed income of some countries because crypto is something that is quite sensitive to regulate due to its charscteristics. That is why many countries nowadays are gunning to regulate or tax crypto use for their advantage.

I do suspect they will struggle to deal with the reality however I don't think they have enough power (I may be naive here) to simply destroy the network by grabbing bitcoins and selling them to crash the market. We all know two thirds of bitcoins are being held and not moved therefore since only one third of the bitcoins are out there is that enough to crash the market? I am no good at math and would actually like to know the answer because then maybe I would actually fear them a little bit for what they could do. Although that is what they could do, I highly doubt they will do it big difference.

Bitcoin is not easy to control even US, country has most modern technology still can't control Bitcoin totally so I think there are no country can do it. Although bitcoins are becoming more and more popular in the world, most countries do not accept bitcoins in exchange. Yeah I agree, the main thing is decentralization and that’s why the governments can do nothing against bitcoin and its trading, and the reason is that bitcoin investment is individual and with no government organization. It is an online investment and all is about the people and not the government.

I am happy that bitcoin is decentralized because if the government involves in bitcoin then may the investment ratio will decrease.

For me, yes the government is against to bitcoin if bitcoin’s capability is disobeying their jurisdiction. Bitcoin’s ability is so fascinating you can’t detect who is the person behind of it,  what are they doing on that, what they are buying and many more. Bitkoyn has such characteristics that over time, states can go against it and limit its circulation. The last sharp rise in the cost of bitcoins to $ 20,000 and then its similar sharp drop in price by 40 percent has shocked many states. High volatility bitkojona and last display of it as a financial bubble has frightened many. Come to think of it, there is definitely a chance that the government could do that. As for the reason om why they'd do that, I could not think of any yet. Still, that doesn't guarantee that they might dp that in the future because we all know that the governments all over the world are kind of secretive and we can't actually predict when will it happen.

The government's action against bitcoin is one of the government's efforts to maintain the country's currency exchange rate, this is done because they fear that bitcoin is used as a medium of exchange, then the country's currency exchange rate will weaken and even an economic crisis can occur the government has a mindset like that, but if the government can make regulations that regulate the tax on each bitcoin transaction or other crypto currency then it is not impossible that the country will go forward because it gets a lot of tax from each transaction.

In my opinion. The government will fight bitcoin, if the government feels bitcoin will have a negative impact on the economy of their country. And if that bitcoin benefits one country, then bitcoin will be legalized in that country.

Probably, the government will go against bitcoin due to the reason of taxes. Aside taxes from the people, the government will find a way to how to earn taxes from digital money. For now, maybe the government is eyeing for what bitcoin can do for there people and the economy.

Any form of currency that isn't issued by the 'status quo' its an enemy, Therefor, will be vilified, sabotaged or right out banned. Lots of people think that turn in off the internet is the only option  but here is a simpler one; They can just prohibit banks from sending or receiving money that interacts with cryptocurrencies. A bit of draconian measure but quite an option.

Technology has a pros and cons.  The government may love it or go against it. There are chances that the government will go against bitcoin because of the following reasons: (1) It can be an investment place for money laundering or corruptions of public officials (2) earnings gain from bitcoin investment do not have tax (3) government cannot control the bitcoin currency and its market value.  On the other hand,  The government will love it because of the chance of additional income it gives to its people.

Bitcoin is a decentralized currency. Any goverments can not control it. Goverments always want to control on money circulation. If they do not control money circulation they will lose tax. So i think goverments are not ready to like bitcoin for now.

Yeah you are right, the government can not control bitcoin or against it because we all know the people is behind bitcoin. Think of it, people having taxed from the goods that they have buy and the money is came from bitcoin. Bitcoin is helping people for earning digital money.

Yes there are as a matter of fact there are a government that banned bitcoins because they are against it. And that government js of course the Chinese governmenti do not know the exact reasons why do they banned bitcoins but of course the main reason of it is they do not want it and in order to stop it they need to banned it to prevent their prime but look what happen after that, the bitcoins still rises even if the chinese are not there it means that even if the government tries to ban it, it depends to the poeple if that would be destroyed.

Although bitcoin is a good advance thing but it also has some disadvantage and other issues due to which it is declared as illegal in some counties. Bitcoin is world first Decentralized digital currency that means it doesn't under control of government and it is one kind of digital money so people who earn bitcoin doesn't pay tax to the government. So its effects more or less a country economy. Many illegal money transaction done by bitcoin and these transaction can't be trace because of bitcoin policy. Due this many other criminal activities done. So above these makes government disinterested at bitcoin and go against it.

Yeah, I think it is possible that government going to against bitcoin, because bitcoin does not give any advantage for them, no income tax and more money laundry, if the government don't have any solutions to those matters then the best option they got is to go against bitcoin and the easiest way is ban bitcoin, if the government see the whole picture then bitcoin could be something useful on the future

Yes. They can go against it if they want to or if the situation arises and they need to take action.
Bitcoin is like an enemy to a country. It disturbs their economic balance and the more people who use it, the more likely it will go out of control in government perspectives. Also, there's a thing about its security being anonymous, leading to more and more people doing illegal transactions easily with the use of this digital currency. Other countries solution was to make the use of bitcoin illegal or restricted. This is their way of taking control the overall happenings in their country.

But I have heard that many countries are starting to accept and embrace bitcoin.
Anyways, I am just glad that our country is still not taking actions involving cryptocurrencies.

Let me inform that every country has got their own vision, own regulations and own challenges to make BTC legal, There are so many factors to be considered before legalizing the coin and bring on the usage in the economy as well. Pros and cons will also be seen and negotiated well before taking any big decision and proceeding to make it legal. Presently , because of its decentralized nature, many are scared to even go with it . But i see BTC is  such a thing which can change the economy of a country if legalized.

This issue is becoming more real as there are some limitations that one government can do to implement againts the use of bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. There are unfortunately some news out there that says cryptocurrencies increased the online criminality rate. The government found it with great concern that it can banned establishments in the country to stop accepting bitcoin.

That is true. Buying from an exchange, while leaving personal information that can be traced back to you, means that you just borrow BTC instead of owning them.

Same is true for gold of course.

Government filth has never hesitated to steal from people to finance their evil, lazy asses. It has been like this for millenia...

the government may be heading to block Bitcoin given the loss of tax regulations, a threat to governmental negligence against the country. bitcoin can not be detected because decentralization and state laws and regulations can be affected.
Because every technology has its pros and cons, different countries may face the challenge of making it legal so they can deal with it.
There are many reason, but I think the reason is simple. People that are making investment and making trade in bitcoin are free of the government while other people are paying their tax to government which are making trade in fait money and making investment in fait money.

The government's fight against Bitcoin I find it easy to understand. As the government feared that Bitcoin would become popular in its own country, it would have a profound effect on the national finances, which would directly threaten the development of banks. Since Bitcoin rates are unstable, if it spreads, it will be very dangerous for the currency in that country, the currency in that country will be weaker than Bitcoin, seriously affecting the currency. of the country.

Of course. The government controls the country therefore it also controls its activities like the cryptocurrency scene. But, of course, it is going to take a lot of effort from them specially if they are fending of this huge tidal wave of potential. We can never tell how they are gonna do it, but the government always finds a way to do so.

I do heard some rumors that our government are against bitcoin mostly the central bank of the philippines since bitcoin has a big threat to our local banks since most of the people save their money on bitcoins instead of putting it into the bank that only gives you little amount of growth unlike if they put it on bitcoin their saved money will grow in no time which is not controllable . We all know that bitcoin always rise and pump so the interest of banks are not enough versus the growth you can get in bitcoin . Other reason are bitcoin doesn't have tax which i also heard that our bureau of internal revenue are planning to put tax onto it , some medias reporting that bitcoin is a scam , fraud and laundering investments they are misleading people with different information that we as a bitcoin only knows the truth about the bitcoin

Yes they could be against bitcoin since they cannot control it, they could use their power or authority to discourage people from using it. In my country, there are already a lot of news about bitcoin, even the central bank of my country said that btc is not for investment but only for minimum transactions. They are not too direct about it but I do know governments are already watching for btc because it might really pose a threat for them

The reason why governments doesn't like blockchain is all about tax issues.

They were never going to lie down and take what is happening. Well, many governments will able to go against Bitcoin because Bitcoin is anonymous. You can easily transfer and transport a big value of money anonymously in just a second and some clicks. It may also cause money laundering. Bitcoin is not controlled by any government so that, Other government may also against bitcoin. And last, Bitcoin is a currency and building transactions without any taxation that is going to happen. It means, Bitcoin is avoiding to have tax in government.

Of course there is, there were already countries who banned bitcoin because they cannot control the number of users plus they doesn't know who the owner is. In the case of our country, there is a possibility also because the tendency is that people will not save their money on banks instead they keep in their own crypto wallet.

Of course some countries can go against this because there is no tax fees among it and considering the fact that many transactions going on here in the cryptocurrency are untraceable and very private it help them avoid being monitored by the government and will go against the anti money laundering act of the central bank because may never know the source of income of the person.
