Don't forget the resistance, many investors put their sell orders at 10,000 or 9,900. The rise has been so quick these last few months that I am expecting a correction (even below 8,000 is possible).

What we need to know also is if Segwit2x will be planned again soon?

Bitcoin needs to evolve, soon or later. This is my opinion.

I won't say with confidence that the $10K mark has been reached unless we reach that level and manage to stay there for some time. People are very likely to dump and cash out once we hit $10K , so I think it will be some time unless we are past the $10K mark for good.

Your view is seems like you are a trader. I see that many people try to get the bitcoin value to be bumped more in the chart. When will be the time we find the 10k in the chart we might again get the price correction and it may touched to 7k or even low in the price chart.

I am really confuse about this bull run. We found last time bitcoin value down to 6k on hard fork time but again we see the bitcoin price is now as 9.6k USD. What is the reason for the price bump we are seeing now?

I can only concur with you. The two coming years will be indeed golden, for the simple reason that there will be much more people coming, a wider acceptance, and I hope, let God grant us that, finally a technological upgrade to finally get out of the network saturation problems.

Exactly. People are getting a little to pumped for this milestone in my opinion. I'm not sure if they're forgetting about the correction or if they're choosing to ignore it so that they get others more hyped so that they can pull out at 10,000 without much worry. Right when we hit 10,000 and people start selling their btc, I believe there will probably be a strong amount of disagreement with bitcoin and how it operates.

Exactly! Unless it hit over $10k and remain it in there for some time and even exceed this amount, nobody could rejoice yet. Because $10k can be just be a one day event or even less. So let us just hope for the best. Everybody is anticipating.

Don't get your hopes up, huge resistance will play a part whether we get above 10k. I'd say we'll have a good pullback before we get above it.

It's OK that we won't have technological problems... What I expect and a bit afraid of is that people will come without any technological knowledge or crypto experience.... They will download the infected wallets from facebook, they will lose their private key, they will take a backup photo of their seed and store it on their phone, etc... they will just don't understand the whole thing, and this can make hard time for bitcoin in the beginning... After when people will have the knowledge, there will be less problem, but education is what we (I mean those people) need...

I really hope there is another fork on its way. After the fork, I will spend all my money for bitcoins, then hope there is no fork for 1 year on 2018.
My thought, $10k are stable prices, increasing very slowly because, once bitcoin prices reach the high value, people always selling it on high volume, once bitcoin prices reach the low value, people always buying it on high volume.

Who would have thought in 2010 that bitcoin was going to reach this price. This is quite a milestone for a coin many people would think to not survive in 2017.  Now here we are in 2017 and bitcoin is still going strong. I predict 2020, 1 bitcoin equals 500K!

Sure.$10,000 has not yet been reached and now,the price of one bitcoin is $9,643.I think that many of the investors would sell their bitcoins because its a very big ROI already.If the price takes some more days to reach $10,000,i would think that due to the upcoming festivals this month end and the year end celebration,selling of bitcoins may become a little bit more.Earlier,we already saw such happenings when the chinese sold more bitcoins during their chinese new year celebration.So,i think that such an ATH would last for only few days.

Volumes will not be a problem once institutional investors carry their customer's funds into futures, the main entry barrier is still access to bitcoin directly. We may see a massive jump in prices, but it will be harder to enter the market for people without experience.

That's what everyone seems to think. When everyone expects the same thing it doesn't happen. E.g. when everyone thinks they can buy the same dip, the dip never comes.

We already dumped $500 off of $9800, and price V-bottomed. Looks like new ATHs incoming over the next day! I'm longing the shit out of these dips!

When you have seen the Bitcoin value going from $1000 to ~$9000 within 10 months and losing $1500 in 24 hours you're immune to the roller coasters lol. I wouldn't mind seeing a $1000 correction; like we say "fingers in the nose for bitcoin" I won't be upset at all (ok a little I admit)

Its a great news that bitcoin already reach $10,000 and most of the bitcoin holders already sell and trade their bitcoin. For me, it is not a good idea. Bitcoin will still have the capability to increase its price in the future. It is better to still hold your bitcoin and continue earning it so that you will have a larger amount of money in the future. I will sell and trade all of my bitcoin if its price reaches the amount of $100,000.

If you scroll more on facebook/twitter a lot of news are now spreading even the price are around $9k what more to expect when it hit that price. Bitcoin is really great, correction will happen and i will surely grab that opportunity to buy more and hold even longer.

that is right, the price is going to increase more. like you said, we are going to reach $10,000 at this end of the month. we still need to reach higher price in the future. bitcoin now become more famous because the price is hit new highest price so people out there is amaze and shock to see this. I am happy because my time to sell almost comes and I see many people wait this time too. and in next year, besides we celebrate the new year, we are going to celebrate the highest price of bitcoin.

While I expect there will indeed be many sell orders set for $10k, I reckon there will be a greater number of holders who have witnessed this recent rally and want to stick around for the journey. Any dip to $8-$9k will find support.

I think 500K is still impossible at year 2020, I guess around 2025 for me. I just really wish I met bitcoin when it's price is not that so much valuable! I hate the way I became late on cryptocurrency world. And now all I can do is wish, and make everything fine so I won't end up late again. You sound right, PoS should replace PoW in BTC. BTC is a very inefficient database that's why cost so much dollars to run per coin.

Well predicting isn't bad since most of us have positive thoughts that bitcoin value will reach $10,000 because as far as I know we reach $9,700 yesterday. Resistance is normal for every currency soon or later. In bitcoin, resistance is always happen but not very dump.
Resistance make fluctuation become real in market. But always bitcoin can go through the resistance.

That's indeed true. Bitcoin's market value is getting more expensive each and everyday and it also means bigger profit to be earned for its users and investors. I am stoll expecting that its market value will be more expensive in the future. My exp3ctation for next year is a value of 16000 USD and i hope it will be able to reach it.

why no mention of one million yen? that happened a couple of days ago and that's a bigger barrier than this. it seemed to happen with little or no argument either. it spent a few hours below and then carried on through.

I never thought that it would increase in value, i mean.. to the point where it reaches 10 k. I must say, im really excited with what's going to happen next but considering that i currently have no bitcoins in my wallet, im quite dissapointed. bitcoin already reached and broke the 10000 dollar mark and is now aiming to have a more expenaive market value before this year and some are saying that there will be dumps or its market value will eventually fall. But I think the best thing todo still is to invest and HOLD rather than selling at this point even if the price is already expensive.

I have been seeing so many threads about Bitcoin reaching $10,000 before the year ends and wow, a month away until the new year starts and Bitcoin finally reached this rate. Yeah this great news for sure but we must not forget that people are always willing to grab bigger profits and thus many of the investors might just start selling their bitcoin.
The reason :
1. Already too high price will start panic reaction.
2. The year end and Christmas is coming so people need huge money to spend.
3. The market is too volatile and may start dropping suddenly if correction happens.

Yes the fun part has already began here and we now can enjoy the profits the way we want. I’m pretty sure that more than 50% of the investors had bought the bitcoin during the hard fork last month when the prices were around 3.5k and 4.5k. With that rate per bitcoin everyone has achieved amusing 50% incriminate on the bitcoin prices and thus related profitability. This is really a surprising thing for the crypto community. If people keep the firm decision upon not selling the coins at this very high points also then I’m sure that bitcoin will have space to rise even more than this.

10k$ is not the last price of Bitcoin :)) It'll keep rising in the future and IMO it'll reach to 15k$ in just the early of next year. Maybe you guy can think that it'll not increase quickly like that but pls take a look at the increasing speed of Bitcoin price :)). The price is no doubt fantastic for us, but also we have to be cautious as I believe there is an upcoming fall to see very soon. But it only concerns the short term investor. Many top investors did predicted this to happen, but not this soon.

The world has actually started to know about bitcoin. From below $1000 in February to $10,000 in November 2017 is a great development bitcoin has make. Some of us that has tried to promote bitcoin on this forum and twitter including facebook has done well as majorities of mainstream financial institutions are becoming aware of bitcoin and blockchain technology in general.

What it is even more scary is that bitcoin has hit this price and it is not mainstream yet, can you imagine the value that bitcoin is going to have when you are able to use it in almost any big store like what happens now with credit cards? The value of bitcoin will be so high at that point that even if you are holding a single bitcoin that could be enough to change your life forever.

Yes it reached this price and as we all know it even jumped over $11,300! However, there is a kind of a rollback of BTC. Suppose, it will stay at its price close to $10,5K and go up again. This decrease is a srort-term phenomenon.

What do you mean coming down? Bitcoin price going down this Christmas season? You sure about that? Did you check the history of bitcoin? Last year, bitcoin was in a massive bull run culminating in Christmas and New Years Eve. That's why when 2017 opens bitcoin has somewhat gaining attention from some investors and media alike. But media has putting bitcoin in the bad limelight then. The picture bitcoin as used by criminals, ponzi scheme and HYIP.

But look at the sudden U-turn by media attention now, then now look at bitcoin as a form investment and even some financial institutions are also riding in the popularity of bitcoin by offering futures like CME and NASDAQ. So I don't think that bitcoin price will go down, on the contrary it can even go further above the $10K values that we are seeing right now.

I'd actually rather have the price fall a little bit, so that the media attention decreases. Whenever bitcoin makes a push, the media starts talking about whether it's a bubble and whatnot. What I'm fearing is that by continuously talking about it they are going to make this bubble a self fulfilling prophecy.

I guess the price was really deserved for bitcoin. nowadays, so many people are chasing bitcoins. even many politicians are starting to notice bitcoin. even they are investing in large quantities. and I think it will grow.

What my worry about this sudden rise is if it will also experience a sudden fall. I mean, like the reply above states, just last week, it's only in the 6-7k mark, but now, seemingly all of a sudden, it's in the 10k mark and soaring. I fear that as the prices continue to go up, more and more people would hoard their coins that would affect the market negatively, especially the altcoin market, which is the main driving force for ICOs.

Yeah, a lot of traders have been waiting for the day bitcoin reaches $10,000 and now they are waiting for the ext target of around $13,000 - $15,000 by the end of this year. And we're about to find that out in a couple of weeks until the year ends.

This are great news. We all hoped that Bitcoin will reach 10.000$ at the beginning of 2018 and look at it now. It reached that price before december. The price keeps growing but it think at the end of the year it will start to fall for a various reasons: people are panicated that the price increased so much and they sell their bitcoin because they already made big profits and they are afraid of the price going down. The second reason is that people sell their bitcoin to spend money on Christmas to buy gift or go to vacations. Many persons sell their bitcoins at the end of the year to calculate their profit on the whole 2017.

I'm shock too , didn't expect it will suprass the 10k though , it happens to fast , 7k then suddenly almost 10k. But we can't sure that the price will be stable or to stay , bitcoin is a decentralized coin , so either goes up and down. But it's good to know though , and obviously congrats to all.

It could be in the end of this year Bitcoin value will increase to $20k considering a few days ago it has passed $11k in november. Bitcoin holder must be get rich quick in this year.

Even if it will surpass the $10k , we can't be confidence or , asure thought that it will stay the same . Bitcoin is still unstable , maybe in few days it will decrease or increase. If you see the price of the bitcoin today it's not 10,000 dollars because the price is already 11,000 dollars and still continue to increase so if you have extra money right now . It's good to invest right now so you can make more profit once bitcoin increase again. I hope the price of bitcoin will not decrease I want to see the price increase only . 2017 gave bitcoin it's break. It had no popularity or demand a few years back and now it's dominating all financial markets and is bringing competition  investments like gold, due to the bettering rate of return. Bitcoin will continue increasing and stability will increase as more people invest into it.

The bitcoin is almost $10k , and still increasing right know , but we can't assure that it will stay the same price or value of it , the enthusiasts congrats too , the investors and others businessman. Because the price is really unstable, the price went down after it reached $10K but we shouldn't be worried about this. It's normal for the price to go up and down, so the price dip that occurred was not so alarming. If you feel satisfied with that kind of value, then I advice for you to sell quickly. The price changes so fast and it's going to be hard to tell when the price would that amount again.

The price drop that bitcoin has witnessed is nothing compared to its price and the amount of of growth that it had, so many poeple thought that 10k was an impossible and a crazy number to reach and a 1000% profit in a year is somthing that exisits only in the fantasy of investors, bitcoin right now is the most exspensive thing and the most profitable investment there is, i am pretty sure that in the future we will look back to this day and say we made it, and i am sure that some time 10k will be nothing in the eyes of the bitcoin users.

Amen! I am hoping your prediction happens and even more! But look how much Bitcoin is valued now. It is a whooping $11,700! I am hopeful it will reach $15,000+ before the year ends! It will thereafter be the best Christmas gift ever! Although, on the contrary, I have plans of buying more Bitcoins and that would mean I would need a lot of money to buy more of it. As of the moment, I do not see its value declining. I am awaiting for the time of its decline (but not too much, of course) so I would get higher chances of purchasing more Bitcoins.

i'm a person with have bad predictions regarding bitcoin price that's why several years ago $10000 looks impossible for me even to surpassing $2000 i was very doubt about that but the current situations has change my mind that after $10k then possible to reach more than $15000 at 2018

As a bitcoin veteran member in this forum, I do not very trust bitcoin at this very moment. The price of bitcoin may very high, but it is not as stable as it used to be in the future. In 2016, bitcoin can only x2.5 of its price, but right now, the price of bitcoin has almost increased more than 12 times in this year. People are hype with bitcoin and most of them do not know truly what bitcoin is and what the blockchain is

Raising and Falling, the natural rule of World. Bitcoin will be higher in the begining of next year and will calmed down and be more steady. From my point of view, raising is not the same mean with good thing, may be it is a announcement for something in coming. I think people who have power in bitcoin world and bitcoin community should do things to control bitcoin's price in the good way.

Most people could not imagine that Bitcoin would come to $ 10,000, indeed Bitcoin has incredibly unexpectedly increased. Demand and supply balance are very uneven. There was a great resistance at the level of $ 10,000, but the resistance was hung, now the new resistance point is 12,000 dollars.

This is in human nature that when first target is achieved they desired for more to come and sometime this desire lead traders to the waiting situation because many people are waiting to sell at 10k and if the numbers of sellers get increased as compared the holders than that will take more time to achieve the 13k dollars milestone so set the aim and then work according to the strategy excess of greed is not good.

Bitcoin has not done yet! Not done in the sense of making those speculations by others that bitcoin will never reach 10,000 USD before this month ends. But bitcoin went too early and reach 10,000 USD and even reaches to 11,855 USD almost hitting the 12K mark. Now that's WOW! It really has a potential to reach 14,000 USD before this month ends and hopefuly, my speculations will not be broken.

Waiting for 3 years is not a lot, we do not know how much time we are going to wait for bitcoin to reach 100k but while it may seem it is going to take us forever to reach that price, we must understand that bitcoin has not been adopted yet by the general public and if that comes to happen we may not need to wait for as long as we may think, I think it is possible we see that price in a decade.

Off course the price of bitcoin reaches to $10,000 and the credit of this miracles goes to the people who invest their money and trust on bitcoin because if they don’t favor bitcoin do not invest money then this will be impossible for bitcoin to reaches to that level.

Yes bitcoin cross the limits I mean bitcoin reaches to $10,000 but now just near to cross $12,000 which means that price of bitcoin is flowing and getting growing and support from these people who love to invest in bitcoin. Due to this increase in the price of bitcoin, BTC become the top digital currency in the world and more people are now wishing to invest in bitcoin.

Me too I really thought that after the $10,000 price there will be a slight correction and accumulation but did not happened. We simply break the $11,000 price right away. I guess the news that Bitcoin will be listed next year in wall street is one of the factor why price keeps rising.

Yes it’s true, many have accept bitcoin and slowly it becomes an easy transaction tool for all of us. Bitcoin will be a very good digital money for transactions because there is no big tax in sending process.
blockchain technology will be very useful for all of us in the future.

Now the bitcoin price falls to 13000 and it is possible to fall it more to come to the 10000 soon may be the users and investors shifted to other markets and most of them according to my knowledge interested in Ethereum so because of these all the price comes down and the bitcoin supple high demand less price falls not a good sign for the future.

if bitcoin can reach $ 10,000 it will be a bliss for bitcoin holders. don’t think about the price $ 10,000- $ 25,000, the fact that now bitcoin reaches up to $ 9600 surely make bitcoin holders happy. Bitcoin’s price will continue to increase if many new altcoins support bitcoin.
