Im a new individual here and in crypto coin market in general looking for a shot at greatness.
Not sure if i posted this where i should have but all crypto prices are going down massively for the past 2 days. What is going on?

In any case, I'm still asking the same question but I still don't get why all the crypto market went down.

It is expected. It has been a huge bull run for the past few days and corrections are a norm and it depicts good health. Worry less as a newbie and do not panic sell at any point. It will pass and we will start testing new ATHs very soon. Remember, Rome was not built in a day.

Its normal because all coins are depend from bitcoin, so bitcoin price gone down in short time also altcoins same. In short time they ll increase all..

All altcoins + bitcoin price might get huge correction for next few days before making floor at $9k for another bull run. Corrections like this is best time to buy some cheap coins for quick profit.

This is just normal with its bullrun this past few days/weeks a correction is most likely to occur and corrections is completely normal as it shows good health the fall of price is probably cause buy the whales to make profit or cause a panic sell for newbies.  Just dont panic continue to hold your bitcoins and continue to HODL bitcoin you will experience new all time hughs after a few weeks.

I saw many people expecting and even calling (on twitter) this trend to happen. It is just regular day in crypto markets. When there is profit, there will be people short selling. That is it.

This kind of growth is not sustainable long term and naturally some of that money was going to come out of the market. Take a look at what coins have lost a lot of value the last few weeks and see if their are good fundamentals to back them up. If so take a dip into whatever coin fits the above profile because when the next bull run hits you will make a tidy profit for yourself!

Bitcoin is always the top most crypto currency in the crypto market when the value of bitcoins increases there is a chance for alt coins to go down due to more demand for bitcoins and new entrants are entering the bitcoin community as this network has the capability to be a trillion dollar market so most of the investors will be looking on to invest more on the highest or the top most crypto currencies which can help them to earn more profits by increasing  ten times the value when they invested as bitcoin market always surges with a huge leap like if you see the crypto market of 2017 in the beginning of this year the value of bitcoins was around $1000 and it has reached upto $11000 but now there is a slight dip like in normal stock and share market, within no time there are chances for the bitcoins to increase the value soon. when there is a slight dip in bitcoins then the value of altcoins increases as people start to invest in altcoins too.

But damn that greed, we are never satisfied, if few weeks ago someone said to me what situation will be today, i would had signed right away. But no, we want more.

I personally think the holidays coming up are playing a part in it. I think alts will start to rise again but not sure when. I did notice earlier NEO has been in a steady decline so I’m thinking of picking some up for the next pump.

I do not see that all the prices are going down. Altcoins are stabilized, and most of them are even slowly rising. The recent fall was a short period, and alts survived and even became stronger! DASH and ETH will soon rise sufficiently.

Not all coins are going down. Do your homework and diversify. We are at the early stages of this market. It will go to the trillions of dollars.

With the rising price of bitcoins, all the alts are getting rekt. Money is going from alts to bitcoins. People who have been holding alts for a long time now are also getting spectacle and selling alts at a loss and moving money into bitcoin. Not all are going down, there are some who have grown exponentially in the past few days too. But mostly this happens when bitcoin price takes a hike, some times all alts suffer and their values go down and then very slowly the correction process occurs.

No, I think not at all altcoin falls down. Some of them are still rising. In my opinion, in next few days, there will be a reducing wave of altcoin price. Many investors will sell altcoin to get Bitcoin. They wanna receive free tokens after the forks.

If the prices of each of the coins are still going down, you should stop worrying. Worrying about something is never helping. What is happening in the market is actually just normal. The reason why their prices are going down is people are selling that certain coin. Whenever the supply of that coin increases, the price of it decreases because there will be a competition. Sellers will lower the price they had set when they see people selling that coin with the same value they had set in order to sell it immediately.

During the last month all cryptos grew rapidly. If to compare, this is only small decrease.

I can feel this too. With this recent continuous bitcoin price increase. Altcoins will have its turn next year. This is a good time to accumulate good altcoins.

Correct and agree with your point. Bitcoin is expected to bounce back in a week or two, Bitcoin wouldn't bounce back where it was but more than that (Approx $20,000). Bitcoin is the mother of all crytocurrencies and the trend on this whether upward or down may impact other Altcoins but not all.

Just to keep you updated that Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold is in a positive trend. (44.06% and 23.65% upwards respectively) These Altcoins are part of Bitcoin.

IMHO it is rather small correction, which when you look on the big picture is still part of the up trend.

I believe that there is still more significant correction just ahead of us. Current uptrend is with no precedent and even tough I am happy with all the gains, I also believe that we got too much in too short period of time. The whole market cap went up like crazy. Consequently, we have unsustainable situation where "everybody wins".

So don't worry about current small correction. I think future holds much more thrilling roller coaster just ahead of us.

All right, this is Christmas and the end of the year. This happens every year. This need not be feared, soon the prices will rise again 8) There is no cause for concern.

It's normal what goes up must comes down.. that's trading and a part of a big project they will release their special fundamentals and to give the best benefit of a blockchain. sometimes it goes down because bitcoin is going down and it's a chain reaction consider alts as well.

There is no constant upsurge, there is a rise which means there is a decline, it is normal, there is no need to worry at all, now in the bull market, taking the currency of the good hands, will make the biggest gains.

I think that is just normal. Because value of cryptocurrencies fluctuate it is normal for their price to go down. But generally, it will go up because it does every year.

There are alot of coins wearing a red cloak today but certainly not all of the altcoin market is going down. Two of my altcoin picks Centra and EOS are both performing well today despite the drop in everything else.

That's right. The market has become really one sided favoring only bitcoin since it has surged in price point ever since early November. I think it's simply due to the law of supply and demand. Right now, the demand that bitcoin commands really prompts a lot of people to shift their focus on it and only invest and trade using it, which continuously helping pump its value. In relation, many are also convinced that they should hold on their bitcoins due to the belief that the surge would continue on in their favor, where they would dispose their bitcoins off the first second the price surge halts. Unfortunately, that affects altcoins negatively because not so many people want to use it right now, and the less transactions happening with the use of altcoins, the lesser its value becomes.

The market has grown a lot in the last couple month, supported not only by the BTC price rise but also by the appearance of new ICOs almost everyday.

However, the trend appears to be changing. In my view that was expected, all this hysteria was bound to collapse anytime soon. Prices will stabilize soon, and the good altcoins will take their proper place in the global crypto market.

I think that it's due to the Bitcoin Cash announcement. Lots of people are selling other coins to get some Bitcoin Cash. I also think that the seasonal and price corrective suggestions are somewhat true as well.

Bitcoin has very clever creators in cash. Every time the BTC becomes cheaper, the creators of BCC say that bitcoin is smart and create panic in the market.

Exactly all crypto prices are going down from last few days. But now all coins are pumping. I think all are going to rock now. All coins are boom.

Whenever market dropped down, many people raise question that why market is dropping but no one ask any question when market rise quickly. Ups and Downs always happen in trading and it is normal market behavior, whenever it reaches its resistance level, it dropped sharply and whenever it reaches its support, it rise sharply most of the time.

Yes, i think there is no need to worry because the value volatility of crypto currency is normal it will fluctuate in unpredictable manner and that is the effect of buying and selling of all the people who are engage in crypto business, and as for me fluctuation only tells that crypto is still alive and keep on ticking so there is no need to be panic.

Yes, you're right. The volatility law is: after the low period always coming a high period. So if nowadays nothing changes that means that in future the price is going to start jumping up and down. I bet a proficient traders know it and they're going to go active on the market soon.

There's no need to worry for that, If the value of crypto prices in the market will not decrease then there will be no time for us to invest, The market is volatile and because of that, Coins are very profitable depending on the time we buy and sell.

An experienced trader knows that every time BTC rises/plummets most altcoins will move accordingly in the opposite direction. At least, this was true until the end of 2017.

Presently, BTC pairing is not what it used to be and a number of altcoins are rising simultaneously with BTC.

Crypto prices fluctuate a lot but one must distinguish between BTC/alt pairing and USD/alt pairing.

When BTC rises, a number of alts lose in the BTC pairing but gain in the USD pairing.

one of the first thing I noticed it was that when bitcoin goes down , all the market follows it but when it goes up , alts keep going down and after some time rising to a new high , exactly like bitcoin so I think it's kinda normal but when bitcoin is down is better to buy the alts or getting into ICO's like VESTARIN per exemple.

Better still, keep part of the capital in bitcoin and at the time when bitcoin goes up, and the whole market down, you need to buy altcoins at a low price. Then, when the bitcoin price stabilizes and the market stabilizes, you can immediately get a good profit.

If prices are going down at this point, that does not mean the situation will keep going this way. It can only be a matter of time. This happens with all coins given that their price is influenced by the demand among people.

I think this is normal, because all coins depend on BTC. The fall in prices is probably the reason that market makers make a profit or cause panic in the market.  :o

The rising price of the crypto coin is very reasonable, even in seconds the price can change. There are so many factors that influence it. For example the most wanted coin which are being hunted by many people will rise drastically. It's vice versa. So do not be surprised if the crypto coins change quickly.

Correction in digital currency prices is not a bad thing. Healthy dips provide investors with an opportunity to buy assets at a discount and bring the asset price in line with it’s perceived fair value.

Market ups and down is just a regular market phenomenon...so no need to panic about it. Recent market crash is due to A FUD created in South Korea regarding BITCOIN and Crypto BAN. So don't get too excited with soar nor get worried about such crash because it is just a regular market movement. What matters is that how you gain profit in such market conditions.

I really don't like that everything goes up for ~9 hours/day, retraces all the way back over the next 15 hours.
It's been happening since Tuesday and not something I've noticed in the past 6 months.

Normally, every time bitcoin goes up altcoin price goes down but there are occasions where bitcoin goes up and altcoins goes up to like what happend last first quarter of the year 2017. Just look at the bright side of it, you can buy altcoin when it is going down.

Crypto currencies goes down when the bitcoin marks down. But sometimes when bitcoin goes down, there are some other crypto currencies goes up and most of the time when bitcoin goes up its value, the other crypto currencies taking their place to have a high value. There's a good side for this though, you can buy coins at a lower price, so many can purchase coins now, then wait for its price to go up again. If it's true what you're saying, then I suppose those whales have been massively buying up altcoins when they were dumping back in December (remember, for every seller there is a buyer). Some of those altcoins have been pumped up hundreds of times. Which means whales are getting richer and richer.

I think it's more or less stabilizing now and should be fine at the end of the month, but It's the chinese new year that's worrying me.

From the beggining of this year the market volume reduce which reflect to bitcoin price falling down and most altcoin going down also this is normal because of btc pair that create big explosion to thw whole market from $20k to $7k and bit increase after g20 meeting.
