I don't have much of bitcoin to sell it below $100,000 - and will probably do this one year after.
Still have some doubts.. Maybe $200,000 will be a better point?
Please give an advice, your opinion is important!!

PS. It's not a joke. Please be realistic while estimating..

If it's strong enough to get to 100K, I'll likely keep HODLing. I don't have a "number" to cash out at, it will more likely be determined by life events and me being able to use the money I've gained in a better way.

I think you should hold it as it surely has a capacity to reach a very high value it has already proved this by its very fast increasing price as we can see. BTC is a very high potential currency and you would not affort to to lose at this less price try to wait for a year and you will get X5 profit i think.

Why not? I mean this is a considerable price to sell your bitcoins right? Selling bitcoin at that time for me is not regretting and disappointing at all, there are a lot of people who sells their bitcoins and then get disappointed when the price pumps up but at that case, if I sold my bitcoins there, I will not be disappointed at all, that is one of my goals I've set to sell my bitcoins.

100,000 is not my target for selling

I find it funny when people talk about "when will you sell your bitcoin?"

It's a mentality that marginalizes the value of Bitcoin. You sound like you just think Bitcoin is an investment. You sound like you're only in this for what you can grow your fiat wealth to.

If you're really committed to Bitcoin and the idea and the fundamental shift it presents to the world, the freedom of money (as we have freedom of ideas), then there is no "selling your Bitcoin". You are committed to the action of always holding Bitcoin...at least until you need to use it to buy something for your daily life. Maybe it's gas, maybe it's a house.

I don't think we'll see another 10x+ run in 2018. We need greater adoption among people to fuel another run like we've seen in 2017. The best thing for Bitcoin in 2018 is stabilizing its value at $10,000 or so. This demonstrates that Bitcoin is not in a bubble, that it's not a fraud, that it's not to be outlawed, as those in the press, wall street, and government are claiming right now.

If you're thinking about what's the right price to liquidate your Bitcoin for fiat you're missing the point

Depending on how many bitcoins I actually hold by the time it hits such milestone.

Still, since working for bitcoins has become my main source of incomes, I think I'll be playing a lot the hodl-sell game for a while...

I will surely hold some of my bitcoins if they cross 100,000$ but i will try investing more and more in order to have some more profits in the future. Bitcoins can someday sureoy give us a huge profut making our lives financially stable. We all need to wait and HOLD our coins untill that day.

I don't think you should be focused on the price of btc, I suggest you to get focused of the value of your BTC, maybe this can sounds to you the same thing but it's not! Just focused on your value believe me

Each person has a different goal, a lot early adopters wich had hold for the last 7 years had sold their coins at 10k dollars for sure, but knowing the most does wanna to get rich with bitcoin they wont let their opportunity to run away, if they have to wait more 7 years or even 15 year a lot people have faith that bitcoin will be the easy way to get rich. Im tempted to sell a part of mine coins, but i do believe 2020 with bitcoin halving we will reach another milestone, and well my hope is to sell some coins at 50000 dollars.

I don't know to thinking the price bitcoin will reach $100 in next year, but actually i wanna sell my bitcoin if reach $100 in next year. And by the way talking about price bitcoin in the future is common, but it's always interesting to discuss in this forum. And if true bitcoin happen in next year reaching $100 it will make me very rich.

We are the same so I agree to your statement. I also don't have that much number of bitcoin so I am just holding my bitcoins until I needed some money. Also, I don't really sell my bitcoin when a good price strikes, but I sell some when I really needed money.

Selling all of them will be a great regret to me when it happens, I know it will be more bigger this next year so I guess I will be keeping on holding on them for some time until I needed some money.

I don't think waiting until when bitcoin reach $100,000 before selling is ideal for me because I have so many things on scale of preference demanding for financial attention and once I get the money of a monthly basis I solve them one after the other instead of waiting till the value of bitcoin get to $100,000, although all depends on individuals needs in most cases

And I'm not sure that bitcoin will be so well-implemented (esp. in "third-world? countries) that we could buy realty without converting it to fiat within few next years.

Apparently the average investor wants to sell bitcoin at 200k but given recent events and I can't believe I am going to say this but I think I am leaning on a more bullish sell point kind of what McAfee was predicting in the 500k-1million range. I really cannot forsee higher than that and in due time we will know if he was correct or not.

Be realistic? Your $100K estimation isn't realistic. We surely won't have another 10x in a year. CME and Nasdaq will start trading Bitcoin futures by 2018. Fresh, huge sums of money are coming in. As more money got invested in Bitcoin, the volatility will lessen. In 2018, the market will decide if Bitcoin is really worth $10K+ or not. There is a rumour that the current price is inflated because Bitfinex and Tether print tethers that is not backed by real USD, thus using those tethers to pump the price. We'll see.

By the way, if BTC goes tp $100,000 I surely won't hold fiat anymore. There must be some problem with the current economic system that made Bitcoin rise to $100K if that will ever happen. Fiat will probably become worthless, why would you sell your precious BTC to worthless fiat by then? My advice would be not selling Bitcoin at all, especially if it goes higher than current ATH. Instead, spare some money to buy more Bitcoin. I personally believe that Bitcoin is the future. I'm currently selling them for two reasons: to get more Bitcoin while the price corrects and occasionally take my profits to make a living.

I agree with you. The is no sense to hold forever. The best strategy is to fix goals to sell at, you can sell a part of your portfolio everytime you reach your goal.

If you need Bitcoin for any important purpose in life, then without any second thought just sell it. Bitcoin is pure money in the form of virtual currency, no doubt Bitcoin posses bright future in the coming days as it values will skyrocket beyond our imaginations but on the closure this money is raised for ones own needs and particular purposes and if you reach such point then simply sell it.
Bitcoin will continue to rise in the coming ears but if you will wait for the highest value then you might need to wait for a very long period.

Bitcoin price has a trend of a factor of 10 every two years. In 2015/2016, price was $1000. In 2017, $10,000. So this is two years if you will count from 2015. Two years from now, probably $100,000. Another two years, $1,000,000. This would be year 2021 when that happens. Question is,  are you patient enough to wait that long? And are you willing to take the risk of holding to reach that point? It's all up to you...

Of course i will.But maybe a part of my bitcoin i am going to sell it to sustain my planned business here in the real world.And the rest of it will be kept and hold until it will reach the maximum bitcoin price.I'm sure it will really happen in due time.

I do not think you have the luxury to think about those prices yet, we just surpassed 10k and you want to sell at 200k? Obviously if we reached those prices I will sell my bitcoin and enjoy the rest of my life but there is a lot of road ahead of us before that day comes.

I only have a couple of dollars in my bitcoin wallet but if the price of bitcoin vs dollar is 100,000 i think that is good selling price you can buy many things if that happens.

Nowadays the price of Bitcoin is continuously increasing,
And soon may reach the $100,000 mark.but speculations
are that it might not happen in a decade or never,
So it is ideals to cash out at 50k to 60k.
But if you have the resources to hold risk it and hold till 100k mark.then don't sell it.let it increase till atleast $300k.

I would love to sell it at 100k but i do not think that someone will be able to buy it because 100k is a very big price and i do not think that a normal person with a normal salary would be able to buy such a expensive coin.

I think it would be better if you can trade them with altcoin or fiat to increase your bitcoin day by day. So you don't need to wait for $100K or $200K, just buy at low and sell them when the price is rising. When you have reach the target, you can hold or sell them at any price that you want.

The decision that you make to sell bitcoin is not easy at all. You sit while having dozens of thoughts whether to sell bitcoin at that price or hold it off until the price goes up. Since the rise and fall of the bitcoin is not predictable, you will be in a bad spot trying to come up with a wise decision.

In my humble opinion, I would not hesitate to sell it at 100k$ since it is so high. I learned to live my life without regrets. So either I make the right decision or not. Regret would cost you falling into depression.

If it does reach $100k this year then I would want to hold it more most likely. Hold it for another year and see how much it grows within a year, that is if you don't need the money too because if you do then that is actually already a good amount to withdraw.

In my opinion no one should sell all their coins ever. But I understand that some people just can't hold all BTC they have forever because I am one of those people. We need some cash for our daily needs and that's why we sell some BTC.

Even if Bitcoin hits $100,000 don't dump everything. Sell the amount equivalent to your needs for the next couple of weeks, a month max, and hold the rest. Who knows, maybe it will be $200,000 a month later.

Sell a quarter of your bitcoins and hold the rest. You may never know, it mat hit $200,000. But if you have all you need and your savings or income is already enough for your daily needs, better hold your coins.. I wish I could have that bitcoin and I'll invest more.

I think that its a bit of both sell and hold at any price to be honest.   There is no point in just holding with no objective.  Obviously, you set your objectives based on your personal circumstance and the performance of Btc in the market.  On the one hand, regardless of the price you don't wanna dump everything because in the end you may lose out.  If the price hits 100K, you could bet it'll hit 1M, therefore, if you have to sell, sell as much as you need and keep the rest. 
Personally, just holding for holding sake, when infact selling a little could change your life seems like an oxymoron to me. 

It depends on the situation. If Bitcoin will continue to increase after reaching that value, then I will still hold it. But if its price decreases eventually after it reaches that value, then I will sell my Bitcoin. I will become a millionaire instantly whichever of the two happens. I’m not expecting that high though because I think Bitcoin reaching that huge value is impossible.

I dont think so bitcoin will go 100k $. It can go maximun till 30-35k i guess. but then to 100k$ i a huge price, i dont think so definitely. If bitcoin will go 20-25k$ people will sell it. Its an asset for now but not at the price of 100k$. Fingers crossed!

It depends if when I really need the fiat for another investment or an emergency. If not i would probably hold on to it for a while and check the news if anything can affect the price positively or negatively. But it is a good idea to cash it out. Being too greedy wont do good.

It depends how you started investing in bitcoins. I've personally sold half of the bitcoin I have at a price of $100k and I'll resell it if the bitcoin price can hit $200k next year. Cheers!

We must to sell Bitcoin in our needs. Its like investment not gambling.

It is really difficult to decide when it is the perfect time to sell Bitcoin. I would rather wait until it reaches 1 million dollars per 1 BTC than sell it now or for $100.000. Still, it is a huge amount of money. I don't need to rush. I believe that the technology which lays behind the Bitcoin started the revolution of finances. More and more governments started to become interested in the idea of cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency and this is why its value may continue to increase.

This is a hard question. It's like asking for the next lotto numbers. But selling at $100.000 per coin when you have bought below $10.000 should be a nice profit for your retirement. So you don't have to worry if the price rises even to $1.000.000 or higher after you sold. On the other side, waiting longer can be dangerous. If price suddenly crashes down and never recovers you would kick your butt all over the floor.

There is no such thing of a right time to sell bitcoins. But if it can reach that capacity value price I think it can exceed more from that point.
But selling your coins will be depending on circumstances that you are facing, if you have enough in your pocket to spend then hodl your coins more in your wallet. But if not and you have no choice but to sell then maybe cash it out partially. You would not need to sell it all you know. Or if you want try investing to alts that are trusted by the market that is called diversifying.

I will never sell my bitcoin for any amount because i know i can earn more than a hundred dollar through bitcoin just by having trust and patience. I know all bitcoin users also believe in this. And once you sell it, you may lose it forever and it is not easy to have a good bitcoin acount now adays.

So just hold on to that.

Yes $100k is possible for bitcoin but it might need much more time than just a year. If you can hold than I will suggest you to hold your bitcoin for atleast 5 years to sell at higher price but there is also some chance of it going to way below current level ($10k).

So its better you keep close eye on bitcoin price everyday to sell if there will big dumps coming and buy back cheap coins when correction will be over. Don't always have high expectation for bitcoin or any other coins.

Now these sums sound and look unrealistic. But considering how much bitcoin has grown already, it only remains to make x10 and we are rich.

It all depends on your individual circumstances and how soon Bitcoin hits those levels (if at all). I think I would exit at those levels, if we reach them in the next 5-6 years. It would be a nice bonus for me, but I wouldn't be banking on that happening.

With the current value of bitcoin that I have, yes I will gladly sell it for that amount since what I have is far from that value. I will be millionaire already in our country if i wished to sell it. I can start anew once I sell it for that amount.

Since you do not have that much bitcoins in your arsenal and since you are not a investor, waiting for the said valuation is a good proposition to have some good profit. :P do not expect these valuations in an years time because these insane prices are not realistic in my opinion,yes the market is flying high but there will be a time when the market stops growing like we saw in the past.

We don't if that price will reach because that price is very high and the percentage to happen that is less percentage. I will sell my bitcoin depends on the situation if I see my profit is good I will sell it. But if I see the price will increase more I will hold it . 200,000 dollars is not happen for sure. My target price is already reached 10k dollars next target is 15k dollars.

Don`t know what exchange do You use, but for now, the price of 100k is not so unreal as it was a year ago!
From the start of the year the price of bitcoin growth from about $700 to $11000, so don`t see any reasons why it couldn`t be 100K in 2018!
Besides the news that more and more stock exchanges will open futures trades on bitcoin make this more realistic!  

Therefore, I will sold some of my btc so I can enjoy life with a big amount of money. I believe this can really happen but it takes time we just need to accumulate more bitcoin so in the future we can be a millionaire.

That amount is hardly accept my mind to reach it, yes possibly happen but we don't know when. The currently price for me is good too sell the Bitcoin, the price in january is only $1000 and then this month touched $11000 a very fantastic progress is not.

Why sell today if we know that in the next year bitcoin will continue to soar higher, yes no one can tell but people are still believing on this great project and this is the reason why bitcoin are still pumping. Better to hold more bitcoin today so you will not regret in your tomorrow.

Man, I'm trying to unload some bitcoin right now, with the price at almost $11,000 and I can't find any frigging takers!  Could be that people think I'm an asshole and don't like me personally, but I think part of why I can't sell right now is because the price is so damn high.

This is why I miss services like Circle and why I regret that Coinbase closed my account.  I don't have an easy way to convert bitcoin to fiat, which I need right now.  And the only reason I need it is because there are a lot of places that don't accept btc as payment...ugh.  Hopefully all this will change someday.

I will sell some only as always, but probably 75% portion.

I put some investment for long term on bitcoin last couple of months, to be true it's not my target price to close deal, but I'm that crazy just to hold bitcoin that long because if all just hold bitcoin it will not grow,

The bitcoin mark 100000 USD is I think will be achieved after 3 to 5 year period only so it is too early to answer this question logically. Human nature is greedy he need more and more only not and never say enough to anything except food item that also that time only later you need food to eat. Same like that every all time high this question will rise sell or hold and situation and requirement only make us to take decision.

Practicing temper mate, its best to keep selling what you earned and hold what you invest, I've been this way for the past months and I can say
that its very profitable, though I'm always looking for much bigger rewards so if in case that the value went that far I will still hold my initial investment
and just sell portion if I needed some cash.

I didn't set any amount above which i'm going to sell the fragment of bitcoin I have. I rather hold it longer, or use it as a currency to buy directly goods with. If the value increase, the goods I'll be able to buy will be bigger.

i will collect bitcoin for now and when get 3-5 multiply price will sell 50% of total number

so if i buy it for 10,000$ will sell when 30,000$ to 5,000$

The thing is if you sell it at $10k you will have not much to sell at $100k. So, sell responsibly. Like many posters stated in this thread, sell only part of it, never sell all you coins. I know it's tempting when you see that you already have say 500% profit, but be patient, you might witness a bigger rise in the future.

I have no calculation but just prediction, if the price going till 100k i will sell it for sure. No waiting for 200k.

Well, most people will be skeptical about this. But if we assume that bitcoin will grow to such a level, then you will not be alone in this. Most likely you will have to wait for the course to level off. But I personally would have kept the bitcoins even longer.

If i could just see the future what lies ahead of bitcoin and the cryptoworld, i would probably wait for that time when bitcoin reaches 100, 000 USD before i sell my bitcoin. But we just don't know whether it reaches 100,000 USD or more or maybe it will plummet and could hardly come back again.
But i am hoping against hope that there will never be a time for bitcoin for its price to go down completely.

Best strategy is to sell partly since a price will touch 100k, divide your portfolio by equal or increasing parts and sell slowly. That's what they call a distributing. If you have some loans or your portfolio is too huge to keep your life going well with no hodling then you should decrease a portfolio allocation to bitcoin and slowly distribute what's over a limit. If you're ok with hodl then just do your work good and hodl. I'm sure a smart investment will bring a great results to you.

If you believe bitcoin will blow to 100000$ wait for it and sell, or if you think that it will increase it's value to 200000$ then wait for that.
I won't sell them for any price, i will sell only what I need and if I need to buy something and I only when I am low with cash.

I don't think bitcoin will go to 100000 $ in the near future. Even if this is going to happen then i won't be able to keep bitcoin for such a long time. I would sell it somewhere around 30 to 40k.

In terms of bitcoin's volatility, I think reaching $100 000 in the future is not impossible. But i think I will be doing the same as yours, if the price reaches  more than that, we why not hold right, there are a lot of possibilities that might happen. And you might not know, we are talking about this today but next year it is the reality.

When the price reaches $ 100,000, I will sell only a small part to provide a carefree life, the rest I will save. Well, not only bitcoin is hold, but all the currencies of the top 10 by market capitalization.

If $100,000 would happen in the next 5 or 10 years or sooner well it could make a lot of sense to cash out the btc for some fiat and be able to get a house for some friends and family just to show them that it pays to invest in new technologies like bitcoin.

It really depands on you, it is tied to how you are earning your bitcoin, so if you are constantly earning bitcoin and one the price reaches that point and you want to sell do it, but if you just bought bitcoin at some point and you are saving it as an investment than no, because selling bitcoin is one time thing only you can not rebuy your coins again because of how the price is constantly going up, so when selling it you most likely won't get a chance to buy at a low price, this has been an issue for a lot of people since the bitcoin price started reaching high numbers, they say they will sell at a certain point but they don't because they are greedy and there is always more  and the price is going to get higher.

By this mark bitcoin will not come soon, and wait for this moment is unknown how much I also do not want I will think about selling bitcoin when it goes over the mark of 25,000

Really hard to expect Bitcoin will have a price growth of another tenfold and I don't think it is a wise decision to hold and expect that long, its even funny that you are thinking to sell all your Bitcoin at 200,000$. My advice is do not wait for a price point like that in order to take profit as you can take profit right now. The price of Bitcoin is so volatile that even a small time trader can earn hundreds and even thousands of dollars in one day. Setting up a big price point like it is an investment will be a wrong move for you.

Well maybe i could sell it in emergency cases but as of now i don't want to waste my money in scrappy and mindless expenditures. Money are easily lost if you don't have discipline to spend it. i prefer to hold it for future purposes surely it will rose up twice or triple to its value someday:)  

It's very good to be optimistic about how bitcoin will rise ,and even tho lots of people that are very known in the cryptocurrencies field have speculated that it'll even grow further to break the 100k limit , i don't think it'll be any soon like you mentioned .
And the best thing to do is hold your funds no matter what happens for now .

If this situation happen in less than three year then i will sell a little bit of mine to cover the initial cost of my investment and take a some profit to celebrate it. I keep buying every month so i think by that point i will have quite a sum to sell.

Most people are afraid for waiting too long but for me personally since I've convince myself to keep hold bitcoin, I will stay hold it as long as possible

Yes who don't want to sell at that price.Currently the price is at $10000 and still its a considerable amount to earn profits and price boost upto 10X from now is situation where one is not disappointed or unhappy to sell but its really a matter of one choice that whether he wants to sell or hodl at that time.If one gains some profit on our fiat we like to cash it out then why not at that much price on which we are earning a huge profits on small amount.

I sold some at 100, some at 1,000 and some at 10,000 (and some at intermediate values). I see no reason why I shouldn't sell some at 100,000 too.

i think $100.000 is a great number already, and yeah maybe i will sell my bitcoin when the price hits that number.
Maybe many people choose to hold their bitcoin, still, waiting until the price increases again.
But i will sell half of my bitcoin maybe? cash it and use it for fun. i want to taste my hard work. Having fun and spending the money.

that will be 10 times the current price. with increasing demand for the coin which has lead to current price. I think if the coin go by the way it is then it is possible for the coin to reach $100000 in two or three years to come. coming back to your question, how long you hold your coin depend on you but its very good to set target just like you have done but do you think you can wait for the coin to reach $100000 with current influence by the media and other investors i think 100% ROI is enough if you are not gullible

I don't have Bitcoins by now and I don't know how much I can get when the price reach to a hundred of  thousands of dollars because my only source of income is from signature campaigns and bounties so it depends on my hardworks. This is an advice from me, feel free to accept it or not, or maybe you can modify it to your preference.
If you have bitcoin in some amount, as the price trend is growing right now, it is a good thing to hold it until you have your own target.
How to determine your target? It is simple, determine this factor, as it is different per person and country :
1. Basic daily needs and the price of it.
2. Your life style and hobbies.
3. Your fees from work, and if you want to make a business from the money you get from bitcoin, because some bitcoiners make a business out of their profit from bitcoin.
Based on that 3 terms, for me, ill be happy to sell if i ever get 300k-400k usd. Very happy.

Well, I'm here for long-term holding. I believe that when bitcoin reach that number, there will be no need to sell it for cash. Many people, companies, local shops would be happy to accept it as a payment. So I would rather buy something with bitcoin than to sell it.

I will also sell when that price happens, I won't hesitate to sell, the money that I gained from that is, I can already use it to do business and for the education of my children, that $100k is already a huge money here in my country and is a great help for me so I won't hesitate to withdraw even 80% of what I hold.

I don't think 100K will be enough to sell it all as I have plans of holding for a longer time. If you can wait for 1 more year then there are chances that you can come up with twice or triple of the current value of your coins. It really all depends on you whether to sell at 100 or 200K. Let's say for example that you've been holding your BTCs for at least 3 years now and you think that you've waited and gained enough then you can go and sell them without regrets. But if I were you and I badly needed to sell it, I'm just gonna split it and sell half of it then wait for 2 more years for the other half.

I took all my investment back when BTC hits 8000USD.

Anything can happen when investing Bitcoins, maybe in few months your Btc value will doubled many times, no one knows.
But yes, you should have realistic target in which point to selling it. $100,000 is good limit to selling your asset as long as you have other planning to investing it. Be realistic.

I would sell a bunch at around $95,000, mainly because $100,000 seems to be the figure many people plan to sell at. Its likely to correct pretty sharp if it hits 100k

Like others already mentioned here, if BTC is strong enough to reach the $100,000 mark, then it will definitely reach 200k and probably 1 million too, but there's still a long way to go and a lot of stuff will happen till it reaches that price for sure.
When it comes to HODLing, I'll probably sell some of it, but definitely not all of my precious BTCs.

$100,000 is a a tempting price. I might be selling some BTC at this price to start a business I always want. And hold the rest of my BTC for raining days and savings.

I do not see why wait until that moment when bitcoin arrives to $100,000 to enjoy the benefits of the exponential increase in the price of bitcoin. There will always be an opportunity to acquire more coins because those are the advantages of an open market. If at this moment there were no more bitcoins in the market, the most correct decision would undoubtedly be to hold them for many more years, but to the extent that you are able to obtain bitcoins relatively often, I think it is valid to enjoy your profits now.

This is a good strategy to do. Waiting to bitcoin increase and reach the goal that you made to cash out some bitcoin. I always do the same, i don't like so much to convert my bitcoin and withdraw them, because i know that i will be the looser in this case, Sometimes i didn't touch my monthly income of btc, and somtimes i just spend around 10 to 20% of it in a month depending on the price.

Percentage gains, look for a ROI that suits your needs and wouldn't advice to "Cash out" you can always withdraw a portion and hodl the rest since you never know it might go even higher and by holding you are increasing the value of bitcoin since there is less being offered. : )

This question is irrelevant. We do not know if Bitcoin will ever be reaching $100,000. IT is impossible to tell. I think we will reach $1,000,000 but there is a big difference between thiking and knowing. All of the difference in the world as a mtter of fact. So with that said, I simply cannot answer this question too clearly because it isn't possible to know for sure if Bitcoin would even reach $100,000 to begin with and the it depends completely on the market at that time and if it makes sense to sell at that point.

It depends on the situation. Actually, it's easy to say than done though if I see that it's still increasing from the time being then I would literally hold on to it and if something came up I won't hesitate to withdraw my coins and use it. Also from time to time, I guess I would cash out some of my coins for my family's leisure, especially to my kids and wife.

I will do, most probably. Selling @ $100,000 per coin will get me around $172,000 (after taxes). And that amount is enough for me to purchase a small decent house, and a good four-wheeler. Or perhaps I will hold 50% of my coins, and wait for another higher target (maybe $250,000 per coin).

I think it's always good to sell your bitcoin in tranches when there's an urgent need. I do Hodl bitcoin but hell I am not going to wait till it is $100,000 or more before I start making use of it. I think 100,000 is quite easy until the next Christmas the trend until now makes it look too genuine target. Bitcoin increased by around 12 times this year and if we go with same expected trend 100000 is achievable but I am surely not going to sell it at this price too will wait for it to reach a million until 2020.

I'll never sell them. Eventually I'll invest them when there's something like a stock market with BTC.

I don't really plan on selling my bitcoin anytime soon, it's just that I don't really have a defined amount of money I'd like to exchange my stash for. If I sold it for $100,000, I would be bummed to see it go for double that amount some time later. Only, and specifically only in an situation where I would be threatened economically and needed to take a huge loan to pay for whatever I may need at that moment, say debts, I would exchange my bitcoins, but only enough to pay off what I need to. But I doubt that, I'm not the person who's ready to burn a hole in their pockets at all.

I don't necessarily have a number in mind...but I usually judge it based on the market and any risk associated with it. For example, I sold earlier this year because it hit an all time high and it was before the fork.

It's a critical decision because the value is very important. However, the person who wants to buy is definitely not crazy, and most likely he is a big investor who is following a well-studied model. But, I will absolutely sell my bitcoins, since this last will take at least 5 years to achieve this value and my goals with the bitcoin are all short-term because I'm still a student. IMO, it will be better to set multiple soft targets such as $25K, $50K and $75K, rather than setting up a single hard target such as $100K. Set up 10 different targets and offload 5% to 8% of your total stash at each of the targets. Then hold the remaining 20% to 50% for the long term. This will redistribute the risk and reduce the probability of damage.

When it reaches 100k I will sell and invest in other growth potential coins. I also think of the possibility of selling only one part.

Forecasts at the end of 2018 are around 55k $. At 100k $ we will wait for a while. I am afraid that the beginning of 2018 may be weak for BTC and may drop below 10k $.

Being realistic it's hard to imagine that Bitcoin price will reach $100,000 by X-Mas 2018. But on the other hand, who could predict today's price one year ago when Bitcoin was below $2,000? As we can see Bitcoin can rise ten times in one year, so in theory $100k by X-Mas 2018 is possible.

I think you are right with your doubts on whether to sell at $100k or wait for $200k because Bitcoin is unpredictable and from $100k, if it will ever reach that point, it may go either way, up or down. I suggest you to sell around 10% of what you have and then wait several months until another selling. I think below $100,000 is a more realistice prediction of how much you are going to sell you bitcoins for. I guess somebody would take it when the right time comes, hopefully this year. Start hodling and after selling, buy some alt coins like etheriums and ripple.

I think all people will go and aim for the high selling price right.. but it takes time to get that big amount of money... $ 100,000 or $ 200,000 in my opinion is not a target, but just a prediction. If you want to sell, find the best price according to your own, because the satisfaction is sometimes endless. How much does it cost when you buy bitcoin, then look for the best benefits at your own pace.

By Christmas of 2018, Bitcoin will be at least $50,000. That is going to happen with almost 100 percent certainty. And I think it will not be very hard to imagine given that the previous all time high of Bitcoin is already on the $20,000 level. Let us just give a little more time for it to recover. The bounce back took quite a considerable amount of time. I was not even expecting this. All I thought was that the correction will not fall down below $10,000. First of all Bitcoin at 100k$ !!!!!! It will take a long long time. But I'm not saying that it is impossible. If the value reach to 100k$ then I would rather prefer to sell than holding it. That price is much much higher than any practical prediction made for the year. However, I am more interested in using Bitcoin as a payment system so I won't care while using it for my regular purchases irrespective of the current price in the market. Well for me if I urgently needs the money I will sell my bitcoin on that price.  Besides that amount here in my country can already gives me a comfortable life to live with.  But if I think that bitcoin can goes up more than that then I will just keep it.  But that is if I have that bitcoin.

The end of 2018 is still quite long, maybe the price you are targeting about $100k will be realized. But looking at the current price condition which has percentage below 10% i doubt if the year-end price will reach $100k.

Divide your Bitcoin holdings to 4-5 equal parts and keep different targets for each of them. For example, you can sell 20% of your coins if the exchange rates cross $25,000 per coin. You can dump another 20% at $50,000 per coin and so on.

I think this depends on your need for money. If bitcoin die in fact reach 100k what's stopping it going to 1million at that point. If it gets to 100k that means it's making inroads into the traditional stock markets and metal markets. At that point I'd probably hold to be honest. Getting to 100k is the hard part

I don't think now it will again touch that high price because the main reason is that in the last of the year 2017 increase in price was the only reason of greediness by many people or getting free forked coin but in these days no new fork will go and also not high price coin they will get , so a type of useless thing for them to buy more and more bitcoin is looking for them .

I will sell if the price exceeds bitcoin from $100,000 and it is dependent requirement if there is no urgent need I would not sell a bitcoin because bitcoin value is very unusual or very high so if could keep if it can be saved for sale for sale depending on the needs can be above or below $100,000.

It is difficult to answer, because the price is not so big. I guess part of it is better to sell at a price of $ 100,000, and the remaining bitcoin to keep longer. The market is very unpredictable, so is difficult to plan for such a long time.

I just prefer to watch prices rise (and fall). And when the price is so high, I think intuition will tell me what to do.

It is not that simple! I think the same questions arose when bitcoin cost $ 1. "will you sell bitcoin if it will cost $ 1000." The matter is that to such cost bitcoin will be approached long enough, therefore there will be no such resonance in your head and such cost will seem to you normal and usual.

You can not set your goal to come unrealistic target, $100k per bitcoin will take at least 5 years and meantime lots of things will change in the crypto world. However, I believe if you set a target $50k and sell your coin will be better and actually can happen within next 12 to 18 months. and that would be my personal target:)

I won't wait for my intuition to tell me what to do. I have set my own limit and target price before selling few of whole bitcoin. Here's my price targets:

• $25,000
• $50,000
• $100,000

• $250,000
• $500,000
• $700,000
• $1,000,000

There will be remaining few on me after selling at those prices and I'm gonna take my vacation yet I'm not pulling myself out of crypto.

I only plan to sell my bitcoins when I badly need funds or an unexpected emergencies occurs and I have no money. Other than those situations I plan to keep on holding to my bitcoin as long as I want. Holding for me is like saving it for future plans.

in my opinion the price of bitcoin can potentially for more than the price of it because if you look at the total supply of existing price bitcoin bitcoin is supposed to be more than that because everything definitely enthusiasts and people who have a bitcoin.

Expert said bitcoin price in 2018 only $25k and you said bitcoin price will reach $100k in end this year, thats very ambitious target but anything can happen in market. But I think its more realistic bitcoin price will going to $25k end this year because highest bitcoin price last year at $19k. Hope your guess right and I am happy to because i have a lot gain

if bitcoin reach such value and i got them on a much lower one, i guess i would hodl on to my bitcoin a little longer unless its value is beginning to decrease. if value starts to decrease, i would probably reinvest some of my profit to other coins provided that i have reached around 80% of my goal profit.

Everything will depend on time for which the bitcoin will reach such cost. If it is the short period - I will unambiguously sell that.

Hi ther junoon! I am with you in the thinking of bitcoin to reach at 100k mark. However, I think seven months is not enough to gather that traction. I am not opposing for the sky rocketed price but I think that can't be achieved in this year. I have read an article lately that says if the bitcoin is a bubble, this year is just like 1994 in the dot com bubble. That leaves us less than six years before it burst. Rather than selling it based on the price, i will rather sell based on the year.

I even sold my bitcoins when it was still at 200$ how much I will sell when it is at $100,000. My point is that I am earning bitcoins and I am not selling all of them. I will sell half of it and half of my earnings I will hold in btc form. I will keep holding those saved bitcoins until it reach a good value except if emergency occurs and I am forced to sell my bitcoins.

Right. At 100k, it's not a bad thing to sell. I won't mind selling at that rate since by the time it grows to that value, my profits would be quite handsome already. Though i wouldn't sell everything since i believe btc can go well beyond that in a few more years

Exactly! that is what I'll do too, it depends on my needs, if that time I do have much money and don't need much money then no reason to withdraw my bitcoin until it will up to a million dollar, there is no impossible with those amount, so be ready and be wise in making decisions.

Definitely I will take out some gains. The straggy if you're not a HODLER is to sell when it hits a particular milestones and Rebuy when it drops. That's what I do.  So if bitcoin hits $100000 I'm selling then wait for the correction and come into the market with 70% of the profit

After how many years it will touch this $100000. It will depend on the time the price happens to touch such heights.  If it touches in one two years definitely I will sell but after 15-20 years I will think about my action after taking into consideration the market conditions.  If there is bull run i.e. rising market; then definitely will take a decision of not selling but if the market is stagnant or there are fears of price downfall then I may sell.

I think it's a very high value. Maybe I will sell it when 20k-30k. That's enough to sell the bitcoin I have. It will be too long until it costs 100k. But there's no harm in expecting a bitcoin increase to that price. so hopefully bitcoin reaches that price and keeps everyone who put it into a new rich man.

Many have already posted on this thread, but I do want to voice my opinion on this subject. It really depends on the market and sentiment at the time Bitcoin hits that price. I would preferably hold out for $250k, but it likely would never hit that. To be safe, I say if Bitcoin were to hit $100,000, that is the price I would sell at. I don't have enough Bitcoin to make me a millionaire, but at that price, I would be able to buy a nice house for me and my family. I want to accumulate some more Bitcoin in the meantime, but $100k could very well be my price.

If what you understand by selling is changing Bitcoin into Fiat, I will probably never sell. Why would I do it? I don't need fiat money. I need goods, food, clothes, I don't need worthless government money. I'd rather have my Bitcoins :)

it may be very difficult to achieve what is predicted to be 100K, because with the current seituation many issues developing in social media about the negative it will at least affect that development. and at a price of up to 100K will probably be difficult to achieve until the year when will happen.

Bitcoin already did it before.
For exemple, in january of 2017 bitcoin was $900~$1000 and december was $19000, it was like 2000%.

Well, it seems you failed at your prediction bitcoin never reached 100000, however that does not mean that is not going to reach it in the future personally my price is 50000 when bitcoin reaches that price I'm going to sell, however it will also depend on when that happens if that happens in this year or in the next year then it is possible that I decide to hold a little bit longer and see if I can get a better price but if that takes 5 or 10 years then I'll sell immediately.

Smart guys will fix profits and re-buy. And why wait for something? And generally in bitcoin keep money, and earn on altcoins.

Reaching up into that point is really quite too far from now to be possible to happen because of the current situation Bitcoin really into right now, we can still never tell if it is quite possible to happen although we are just open for possibilities that maybe Bitcoin can reach up that point mark in price. Bitcoin will not immediately instantly touch that price. there will be a lot of drama going on in the market when heading there. at which point buying is always cheaper and selling at a more reasonable price is highly recommended. in addition to the anticipation of inactive assets and can also make more profit. so essentially active in the market is very important.

I think it is too early to discuss the development of such events, because there are two options:
1) If the price will come gradually to such a mark, the cost of $ 100,000 will not scare anyone and people will not rush to sell their bitcoins

Well $100,000 is a big amount, and if i have 3 bitcoin that means it will be $300,000 so if the price of bitcoin will reach $100k i will sell my bitcoin immediatley and i will give the 30% of my money to my parents and the 70% of my money is i will invest to an altcoins that has a lower price.

Probably. But definitely, I will never sell below $20,000. That's the price of each bitcoins when I bought my very first bitcoin. If we reach that kind of pricing, every investor now would have been pretty damn rich and would even consider selling their bitcoins for houses or cars.

That is for sure, you cant expect bull to take control that much. We will surely have ups and down. But I am sure that $50k is achieveable this year.

I think you can sell it on $200,000 then buy again and hold it until the value will pump high if the value reached $400,000 you can sell it again and buy again in $400,000 if the price reached $600,000 you can sell it again so gain profit.

If that value will come, I would definitely sell my bitcoin at least half of it then I would just remain the other half of it and will just  buy again when the price of it comes low. Hundred dollars is already a huge amount of money for me, so I'll keep it as a big profit.
