Title: Airdrops info for newbies
Post by: TheBeardedBaby on December 04, 2017, 12:02:54 AM
Hello, I need more information regarding the Airdrops. I tried to joint one just for to see what exactly is this thing but the requirements were to have a ETH wallet with minimum amount of 0.1ETH. Why is that needed and they can see what I have in my wallet. Maybe it sounds stupid question but that's how we learn. Hope this thread helps to other Newbies like me.

The requirement is there as one method to deter duplicate accounts from signing up to the same airdrop. Imagine someone making 1000's of accounts and requesting the airdrop. By putting an artifical required amount of ETH, this problem is somewhat alleviated. Of course it doesn't do much.. since the scammer can still distribute their ETH over multiple accounts, but it acts as a deterrent and makes the process slightly harder.

Basically, it takes six weeks to reach a Jr.Member. More information can be found at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0 .

Even my friend is junior member and attend airdrops. He gets tokens 1/50 from airdrop. I am waiting for being jr member but I dont believe they send tokens to jr members. And some people steal you information and they apply with your details.

The ICO offering the airdrop must be operating off the Ethereum blockchain, therefore their transactions occur on the Ethereum blockchain and must use the Ethereum wallet.

I'd be careful about these so called airdrops. Most are not actually airdrops. If they ask you to deposit or send Bitcoin, they're a scam or ponzi scheme.

They'll put your address into http://etherscan.io and that will list the balance there.

You got on the wrong track here ! If you want to receive your cryptocoins, whether it be from some airdrop or some other source, you need to give your address to the other person. And with that addresses anyone can view your balance information. The cryptocoins are not entirely anonymous but pseudo-anonymous.
So, you can apply for airdrops because there would be no threat to your funds stored in your Eth wallet. There's no danger associated, except if the airdrop fails to provide coins, etc.
If you are so scared of being scammed if someone saw your eth balance, then you can create a new address for the sole purpose of receiving airdrop plus that 0.1 Eth required to be eligible. Btw, you should always use a new address for each transaction to increase anonymity.

Airdrop requires Jr level members, because the novice is not active, can not hit the airdrop team's propaganda requirements, so want to get an airdrop, or in the forum seriously replies, otherwise, the level does not increase, can not get an airdrop, so this is Necessarily, only your active reach, airdrop is very easy, but the BTT forum takes time, the rules of the forum level can be read well, you know how to replies, and please do not chaos replies easily blocked.

Airdrops are free token giveaways that almost everyone can join for a small part of a token giveaway. Some may require a initial eth balance if they are going to give away tokens that need to be exchange to eth to have its value. When exchanging, a user is required to pay a fee and that is what the inital small amount of eth is.

An airdrop is the free distribution of tokens. Most of the time the developer requires you to do things like join their telegram, like their fb pages, follow their twitter etc and then sign up your eth address. Maybe the purpose of the 0.1 ETH is for transaction fees in exchange sites and that is after you receive their tokens. It will serve as the gas for converting your tokens to money.

Another function is to prevent a ton of spam accounts, as setting up a bunch of different addresses with 0.1 Ethereum would be a minor deterrent to stop people from abusing the airdrop.

For all you newbies, the best airdrop out there right now is DeepOnion. Check my signature to read more, and if you don't qualify, literally just posting on the forum can make you a ton of onions each week. I might sound like a shill but check out the forum and you'll see that there are over 6,000 people who agree with me.

It's to prevent people signing up with multiple addresses but, as has been said, this doesn't stop people from doing so. From my experience getting airdrops can be very much pot luck and it takes a lot of time and perseverance to do so, however, you can make significant amounts from them if you get the right ones.

Those airdrop mostly don't have whitepaper, not public dev member. So all they want to do is get Eth from user and airdrop no value token.

Stay away from airdrops which ask you to have 0.01 ETH and to pay for the gas - most likely they will be shittokens.

Be very careful with many of the advertised airdrops out there if you're really a newbie in the cryptocurrency scene. If they ask for too much personal information or for your private key to any wallet, turn away immediatelly because it's a scam.

Dont get too greedy and dont believe everything you read about these airdrops!

If a certain airdrop tells you to donate or something don't do it. You are doing the airdrops because its free. If a certain project requires you to donate put a 0 value on the form since most of them are optional. There are certain airdrops that requires that you have an amount on your ETH, feel free to leave that airdrop and find other projects where you can participate as there are still many out there. I know most people consider airdrops as a waste of time but there are still others who made an ample amount by just participating on good airdrops so I guess it really depends on a person if he/she wants it or not.

Regarding the newbie rank, you only need to have 30 quality posts for you to rank up to Jr. Member, as far as I know you can do that a day or two. I am not sure though if the forum is still strict when it comes to upgrading the rank as I was able to rank my account after I made my 30 posts but haven't try doing it in a day though. My account existed for a month before I reached the 30 posts since I was busy  ;D

As far as I know you can give your ETH address and make it public as long as you keep your private key as no one would be able to access it because they don't have the private key.

you need to know that airdrop is one way to get free altcoin. but not all the airdrop that we get can be enjoyed the results. because it may be airdrop burning or airdrop which is only to be shared for free before entering the market. maybe you can follow the telegram channel to get information about airdrops.

First of all you need to join telegram airdrop signal channels.

https://t.me/Earnfreeandbehappy

Then you have to be at least Jr. member in bitcointalk.org forum. Because a lot of airdrops qualified jr.member and up rank.
Then if your twitter followers more you can get more coins.
Airdrop is valuable chance to recieve coin free of charge

To be able to avoid duplicate entries, imagine if one person signed-up  for the airdrop three times then he will get three times the worth of the tokens, if you were that person would you mind putting 0.1 to your three eth addresses? No. By doing this, airdroppers can regulate the people per signup.

They use that requirements in airdrop to avoid spammer who are only making money into it. Because some people are making many eth wallet and joining an airdrop to have multiple free money. Is it the only req? if an airdrop is requiring your private key, then its more likely a scam, avoid it.

There are other ways to earn coins aside from airdrops but you need to use your skills. In this forum aside from airdrops you can do bounty campaigns but it'll require you atleast a Jr rank and follow the instructions because if you fail to do so, you won't be able to earn a stake or a coin for that week. I think you already know this though. Another thing is finding some task that you can do and then be paid by BTC. Yes it is possible, I just forgot the website where you can do freelance jobs in exchange of btc. I know someone who also do Telegram campaigns and forum campaigns in exchange of btc and being paid everyweek.

The recent network congestion was caused by cryptokitties, not the erc20 tokens.

It is needed for the exchange fees. Trading platforms does this often but the majority of using miners is all of the altcoins. Dont sell it quickly or else youll regret it if they have the ICO ends thats where you sell your money. Almost all altcoins if theyre ICO ends they began to decrease and be lazy about it so its the right time.

Then you just have to avoid joining airdrops with that requirement. There are actually many different airdrops with or without requirements, so if you are just a newbie, choose airdrops that has no requirement (eth balance, donations, balance token etc) since its obvious that you cannot have such.

that I know, airdrop is a project that gives free token on selected accounts. it aims to make their projects successful people are known and make many people want to invest in the project.
as for if they require us to donate, it aims so that we can better support their project. and if they want a balance in our wallet, I think they are more concerned about it so we can invest in the future in the project with the balance in our wallet.

If airdrop have requirements minimal amount i will leave that. because airdrop is free just do little job and put Ethereum address and coin will to landing wallet. imagine if 1000 people join with requirements 0.1 ETH, its means 100 ETH?? you kidding??

Airdrops needed to have a 0.1eth in the account to be involved in a large number of accounts to avoid cheating, but now Airdrops are mostly a scam.

the fact is that every airdrop has its rule though there are many rules that consistently run through almost all airdrops. Per my experience,  they do require that because they claim they would use that to search for spammers (who will create multiple of new accounts just to get multiple of the tokens and later combine them). Sometimes, some projects do give back in proportion to the amount of ether you already have and so that could also be a factor. But be always careful with your ETH account because some airdrops are scams and they will steal your tokens if you make a mistake and they get to your account

For Airdrops you can search in bounties section of this forum but one thing should be taken care of for airdrops. Airdrop is a free distribution of coins and in case any one asking few ETH or bitcoins for the distribution is a sign of scam and you should be careful on that. Other than that it is free and you can get free coins which might be useless for the time being but maybe of good value in future.

airdrop is just a way for anyone to receive free tokens from ICO projects, i can say these tokens sometimes is useless because not all ICOs can success, so their tokens have no value at all, like a trash token, so i dont put too much hope on airdrops.

Other than that it is free and you can get free coins which might be useless for the time being but maybe of good value in future.

I have not used ETH yet and "gas" obviously sounds like a fee. Can I get a wallet and receive tokens starting with Zero, yes or no?

Hello, I need more information regarding the Airdrops. I tried to joint one just for to see what exactly is this thing but the requirements were to have a ETH wallet with minimum amount of 0.1ETH. Why is that needed and they can see what I have in my wallet. Maybe it sounds stupid question but that's how we learn. Hope this thread helps to other Newbies like me.

Yes some airdrops are scam and asking for donation and we need to be aware of it. But some airdrops require some high position like Jr.Member

It's depend on the rules of the airdrop but usually we only need to fill a form to join a airdrop like your eth wallet and usually there is no rules about the minimum aount of 0.1 eth in your wallet. I think that rules needed to prevent cheater/multi account to join the airdrop. It's depend on the dev/manager though.

I would suggest staying away from airdrops atm. It is just a hassle for some people and it does not guarantee you will get money upon accomplishing their requirements.

It's a pity, but almost all bounties don't available to newbies(
that's not true. many bounty accept newbies for social media campaign but not for signature campaign. I think they joined airdrops just for earn money with easy step not like social bounty which we should do every day for several weeks / months.

If you have to pay for airdrop then it is not airdrop, it is selloff.
If you find such stay away from it.
I personally don't use airdrops, unless they are bitcoin forked shitcoins.

All ethereum wallets show all transactions of an address publicly. Although the viewer won't be able to see who owns that wallet. Airdrops do not require eth amount in wallets. You will only need them if they require some donation before giving you free money and id you want to convert your tokens into btc or eth.
