you will see them on your PSU, usually there are a buch of them, like 4-6 pcs and it connects one way only Title: Re: Can you please help me in correcting my understanding Post by: cryptocoinfarmer on December 04, 2017, 02:19:59 PM Nr 3 connects to the same PSU with the SATA connector.
I recommend not to use this wire that came with the riser but connect directly from your PSU. Could you write down your model of your PSU? Then I could make a schematic how to connect all the wires. Title: Re: Can you please help me in correcting my understanding Post by: wacko on December 05, 2017, 01:14:51 AM The riser pictured is supposed to be powered with a 4-pin molex connector. It's just they already included a molex=>sata adapter as well. Which is not recommended to use unless you 100% sure that your particular card draws very little power via the pci-e slot. Otherwise just disconnect that adapter from the riser and connect the riser to the PSU directly with a molex cable.

Then read this link: https://www.reddit.com/r/EtherMining/wiki/hardware/risers (https://www.reddit.com/r/EtherMining/wiki/hardware/risers) Now repeat after me "Do not use any included harnesses that converts to SATA" Your local fire department thanks you Title: Re: Can you please help me in correcting my understanding Post by: rizabbasi on December 05, 2017, 04:00:39 AM Nr 3 connects to the same PSU with the SATA connector. I have Corsair HX1200i. Would really appreciate if you could make a schematic diagram. Risers/GPUs is a big grey area for me and I am full of doubts, fear about that. Great help indeed :) Understood that ver007 mustn't be used. Can you please advise which type of cable should I use in place of cable #3? Title: Re: Can you please help me in correcting my understanding Post by: wacko on December 05, 2017, 05:12:12 AM Can you please advise which type of cable should I use in place of cable #3?[/b][/color] #3 is just a molex=>sata adapter (it's obviously detachable). Your riser needs a molex (4-pin) connector, so just use one of the molex cables straight from your PSU. |
