Celsius is a new global P2P financial platform that will seamlessly connects holders of crypto-assets with borrowers. It will allow crypto-holders to earn interest on their assets in the form of coins, or get a cash loan against their crypto.

As the project allows users to earn interest on their holdings, that sounds pretty good. I would prefer it for long-term investments as it won't be fruitful for flipping. However, i'm not sure if they will be able to deliver what they are promising currently and such profits may seem quite suspicious suggesting maybe even attempts of some financial schemes.

You are right, we have to monitor this project further, hopefully this suspicion is not really real, hopefully this project can provide interest according to info.

Cryptocurrency lending projects are easier to gain traction compared to projects in industries where the use of cryptocurrency is not prevalent yet. Celsius Network also makes it easy to become a borrower. With the strong team in place, i believe it has a good chance to succeed.

The company has been registered in UK operating out of the United States. So, I don't think there is any problem with this address.

Why do you need desktop app? The mobile application work pretty well for me. Except that I don’t have certain functions.

Ia already have lots of apps for banks and other stuff, I prefer to visit Celsius once a week on desktop to follow my progress than have an app to use once a week!

And I avoid transferring crypto from wallets to Celsius or vice versa using my phone, I feel safer doing that on computer and can't without a desktop version.

I am using Celsius for a bit more than 4 months now and so far I am convinced. They have a real product, payments are on time and they created an environment that allows their native token to thrive.
Yes, CEL would tank if a major problem surfaces and yes you don’t own your private keys. But I would only count the latter as a disadvantage.
I made multiple deposits in different currencies and also multiple withdrawals and never had any issue.
CEL gained nicely in value, can’t complain.

but considering the number of users for this app, are all happy with their service? but yeah, it is better to try their app to check it for myself. and since it is crypto wallet, better not to put handful of money because  you have no idea how long they will survive in the market. this is actually the predicament of most wallet users, there's always the possibility that the wallet will go offline anytime and not come back. most crypto wallet apps have very short lifespan, so i think that is one big consideration when someone is installing a crypto wallet.

I was reading the blog on how to HODL your BTC with Celsius and earn, very worth reading so I am sure anybody can start earning weekly rewards held by crypto to their Celsius Wallet. Marking rewards relies upon what you stake and on what platform. Staking is useless if project just creates new coins and don't have a locked supply. Only invest in projects with limited supply. Look at Celsius, best organization out there.

Also just confirming you cannot sell CEL on the app (you can only buy it right)? To sell it you need to go on an exchange that offers it (such as liquid).

Yes, you can withdraw it at any moment (exception: if you change withdraw address or you using HODL mode) and then your interest payments will be recalculated. And yes, you are right about CEL token.
