Title: Women in the cryptocurrency industry
Post by: wiser on December 06, 2017, 04:07:46 AM
Every so often I run into an article that talks about how few women are involved in this industry compared to men. My suspicion is that there are more women involved than anyone realizes; they're just not putting their gender front and center.

What do you all think?

I have to agree with you on that. In a Testosterone fuelled world, the men likes to fight for dominance and to be the pack leader. They tend to brag and force opinion on matters in public and the women just stand back and leave them to fight their battles.

I have seen some strong women in our local Bitcoin meetups, but men just dominate the scene with their aggressive ways. This type of behaviour chase women away from these interactions and we are left with a Testosterone filled room in the end.

You would be amazed to know how many women are loaded with bitcoins, but just do not brag about it like men do. ^smile^

There is no way to measure gender involvement in the cryptocurrency world, except through assumption,I feel women involvement in tge IT space is low that migth be the reason for the assumption.

If you look on the other ICOs on the their team, they have always ( not all but some of the ICOs ) have a woman for advisory/consulting matters, I think Women have the maternal instincts that the Men doesn't have. We should know that some of the Managers specially on IT related businesses is women ( assumption of course and based on my experience also) Some of the sales manager i know is Women. Therefore , I think that there is a lot of Women involved in the cryptocurrency activities and they play a big part when it comes to marketing, management and sales.

Women have more value than men, they have a high level of charm, if they play bitcoin I'm sure the spread will be very fast.

yeah right, theres no way to measure it and they wont know how many percentage of male or female are involved into crypto unless someone can do a global survey about cryptocurrency . though i actually know and seen some female or women that is a member on this foum , not only here but also on some crypto related forum like mystellar.org and some on social media groups like facebook and twitter. female can always do on what male can do and the main reason while they are doing it is because they also want to earn income online to be able to support their kids of families and the fact that most housewives are always leave at home.

In this industry, I don't think that women are more than than men. And maybe you're right that some women here are just hiding their true identity through their username which is possible. But still, my suspicion is that maybe half of this community are women and then half are men. And I don't really believe some people saying why are there few women on bitcoin, because I think, men's and women's population here are almost equal.

In general, it is quite problematic to understand how many women and men in percentage terms. But I can say for sure that there are women in this sphere, and they absolutely do not lag behind men.

Women in our time are no stupider men in matters of business. So I'm sure there are a lot of them here, but not all of them focus on the gender to which they belong, as not everyone treats women equally in finance, economics and business.

I am sure that there are many women join into crypto currency but they don't want to show to the public. but like others said, in the ico project, there are women join and they show their capability for the project and I think the other is fine with them. besides that, usually, women can handle for communication with the investor or new people which want to join with their project.

I think its hard to assume that there are more men in the cryptocurrency industry than woman. Because of the anonymity in the forum, everyone here is referred to as a HE. not unless someone takes a real survey here to determine the rate. but come to think of it. I think that there are hundreds or thousands of farm accounts in this forum that is why it will still be not accurate. I am a women, and I am referred to as a dude here which is sometimes funny i guess.
Also, i think women are more enthusiastic when it come to learning stuffs like this. It's just my opinion though.

We cannot determined the volume of women in this cryptocurrency industry. Yes there are only few be seen because of the anonymous we couldnt count. However, most of women are into use of online because of wanted to earn money.

Well, if you wanna be a White Knight you can say that there are a lot of women involved with cryptocurrency...or that there is no way to know how many women are there because o anonimity.
There is nothing new that when it comes to any domain that is as technical as crypto..that men form the overwhelming majority.
Just take a look at teams of ICO's...most of the projects are 100% men, and rarely you can see women in them....and when you do see a women is often in charge with social media crap...
I must know...i translated 100+ projects and there is no doubt in what i am saying.

Even the public figures of the domain are men...from owners of asic manufacture, owners of mining farms (even home miners), spokepersons, forums, youtube channels.... you dont have to be a genius to see what is right in front of you.

One thing is sure tho, there will come a time in the future where people will say that men and women contributed equally to the development of crypto world...and of course sissy bitches men will just nod their head and agree, and that will become the norm.

Women in the cryptocurrency industry is quiet comfort quantity available you no need to assume this it is the fact we have to accept. Why in this forum they not mention the gender unnecessary issues will be raised by some one it will harass them and it will waste your time in responding to them. There is no in big quantity due to the work pressure and the family pressure they might not get time to post in bitcoin forum. It is very difficult task for them but women has the potential to handle all alone that also we have to agree.

I found most of the ICO project contains with the women staff too for support executive or investors. I do not think as you said here people seeing gender basis to make money.

Women have a very great role in economy of any country and I’m sure that there are a lot of women’s who are using bitcoins on daily base and in my country there are a lot of house wife’s are using bitcoin too so it’s also a very big achievement for bitcoin that it want to attract any one toward itself and those who join bitcoin then it’s very hard to left bitcoin because bitcoin is full of advantages and with a passage of time more women’s will join bitcoin.

Bingo, plus men are usually bigger risk takers than women and as much as a lot of us feel bitcoin is a safe investment it most certainly is not. Women are on average more risk averse than men.

Usually in a new industry, men occupy the majority. This may be the more aggressive behavior of men. Women spend more time in their lives and their own families. In addition, in the encrypted currency circle, the IT industry is most closely related to it, while men in the IT industry have a very high proportion.

There are not many women in tech industry in general. It is caused by many factors. More and more women start to become interested in technology. It is still very common to see men mocking women who are on engineering studies. I have no idea why would anyone think that women are less intelligent than men. Cryptocurrencies are still a fresh topic so no wonder why there are not many women. Even on Bitcointalk most users are men.

Women also have good analytical, computer skills and often more attentive than men. Only bound that I see is that women aren’t so risky like the guys so that’s why many of them don’t like business including cryptocurrencies.

The world of Cryptocurrency doesn't really sideline the gender but will say it is a matter of personal interest. Ladies are mostly interested in the spendings and having businesses done physically. I do think and believe that most ladies' perception about bitcoin is abstract and this dispels them  off. I just tried relating it to my wife And sister as an illustration but they saw it really clumsy. I have leveraged on their ability to be phone lovers and blog readers which will help them in continuity.

This is not even a deal to have a deal with. Womens is also human so why bothered if women are in this such thing? This is work and there are no requirements or agreement that only mens are allowed to have work to earn bitcoin. We have to respect each other. Also, it might be more women are working on this or even investing and this. Who knows? We do not need to compare ourselves to them for the sake of bitcoin because again I repeat women are also humans and there are no requirements that only men are allowed to work for this. Interesting to read all your opinions.

I agree that there are more women involved in cryptocurrencies than most people think, and that they don't necessarily advertise their gender.

I agree that it shouldn't really matter, though it's interesting.

In my case, I picked a gender neutral handle (not deliberately as I chose my handle for other reasons). I got called "mate" and "he" a lot, and for the most part it wasn't really relevant to try to correct it.

Generally men are more interested in technology, coding, that sort of thing, and in that regard I'm not the exception. However, when it comes to the relational aspect of cryptocurrency, we women have an advantage. We tend to make connections because we're naturally relational and that gives us an edge over those who tend to be more narrowly focused on the technology.

It's also definitely true that cryptocurrencies provide an opportunity for income that is well suited for the stay at home mom. I personally have done all my crypto money making online. I've never gone to any sort of meetup, and I've worked it around my schedule which includes family and work and plenty of home management.

I personally never experienced any sort of discrimination or other kind of mistreatment for being a woman in this space. The only exception to this has been that I've occasionally been sent inappropriate pictures of sexualized women from men who undoubtedly thought I was a man and one who would enjoy such pics. Thankfully, most of the people I've encountered here of either gender are way more professional than that.

One of my favorite coins is DMD Diamond, so I do like to tell folks that Diamonds are a girl's best friend :)

Women are less likely to take risks. This may be a good thing though. Read this journal "Gender Differences in Risk Assessment: Why do Women Take
Fewer Risks than Men?" http://journal.sjdm.org/jdm06016.pdf. If you don't want to, here's the abstract

"Across many real-world domains, men engage in more risky behaviors than do women. To examine some of the
beliefs and preferences that underlie this difference, 657 participants assessed their likelihood of engaging in various
risky activities relating to four different domains (gambling, health, recreation, and social), and reported their perceptions
of (1) probability of negative outcomes, (2) severity of potential negative outcomes, and (3) enjoyment expected from
the risky activities. Women’s greater perceived likelihood of negative outcomes and lesser expectation of enjoyment
partially mediated their lower propensity toward risky choices in gambling, recreation, and health domains. Perceptions
of severity of potential outcomes was a partial mediator in the gambling and health domains. The genders did not differ
in their propensity towards taking social risks. A fifth domain of activities associated with high potential payoffs and
fixed minor costs was also assessed. In contrast to other domains, women reported being more likely to engage in
behaviors in this domain. This gender difference was partially mediated by women’s more optimistic judgments of the
probability of good outcomes and of outcomes being more intensely positive."

It is not actually logical for women to hide their gender while using cryptocurrencies, but that can actually be true. Though we all know that the quantity of men is way more than the quantity of women in this industry, but on the other side, we should know that no place can be without women and there would surely be some women around everything in the world. So there are women in bitcoin users base as well as in this forum. Maybe some of them hide themselves while just a few openly accept their existence.

I think that there are a lot of women in the cryptocurrency and are not just telling it publicly. Although it is a fact that men tend to be interested in this type of things more than women, I also think it depends on their culture and age. Millenials have no problem in exploring and engaging in new technology such as this

Yes some of them maybe hide their true gender and didn't want to know their true identity. In bitcoin their is no gender requirements that needed in order to start on which is everyone can be able to use it and benefited in bitcoin depending on their strategies to earn more bitcoin.

Here in bitcoin world, we must have peace. We need to avoid Gender and Racial discriminations. All i know is that Bitcoin is for those who are interested and willing to work with it.

Women might not have great logics, but they have great intuition. That's exactly what they contribute to every industry they are involved in. Women are great managers, since they feel other people better, they feel what might happen next. That's why they can be good at managing bitcoins as well.

Never the less, I think what ever gender a investor, trader or user of the cryptocurrency it will not affect the way people appreciate and use it. The best part is that we could see that there are more and more people are grasping the power of the crypt currency and the blockchain technology. Anyway, I’m hoping to see more woman be successful as man in this era.  ;)

there are many woman in every ICO. you can see them in team

yes i see on some ico's that their team does compose of some women this is one of the reason and evidence that women can also do what men can do and infact women can also do better and they can do some amazing things than men cant simply do. i also know some female members here in the forum not only here but also on some crypto site like pd. i guess the main reason why they are here is because their boyfriends and husbands taught them on how cryptocurrency works and how it can changed their lives due to its growing demand lately that is what causes for the price to surge unexpectedly. overall it doesnt matter if your women or men or what is your gender as long as you are eager to learn about cryptocurrency then your always welcome here.

We should not discriminate people though gender identity. As long as we work in a good way. And for me, all of us has starvation and we must earn to in order for us to fulfill our necessity and wants. Gender nowadays is not a big deal anymore.

crypto currency is not considering gender while working but crypto world is for everyone whatever they are like male , female , small , younger. everyone have a right to work with crypto and can earn profit there is no such issue in crypto that can differentiate anything between gender, everyone have gain this opportunity if they want to work and i think all type of people with a great percentage are working with crypto.

Yeah. I know it's considered highly politically incorrect these days to differentiate gender influences in business, but the science of physiology, chemistry and psychology cannot be ignored. This risk has been recognised for many years, with even insurance policies now tailored towards the lower risk behvaiours associated with women (they pay less than men for health and life covers, for example).

This year's Nobel Prize for Economics was also awarded to the recognition of human propensity for risk taking in markets as the key reason for why market predictions and analysis (often based on rational models derived from AI).

Combining these two acknowledgments, it would make some sense to involve women in higher decision-making levels, not simply delegate them to communication roles (which, incidentally, they happen to be good at?).

I agree with you completely in this case. Gender, race, religion etc do not matter when it comes to the crypto world since anonymity is what bitcoin and the crypto world mainly stands for and there is no place for such biased stuff in this field if you ask me. I observe some people discriminating on the basis of ranking level in bitcointalk, gender, religion etc sometimes and I feel such people are simply pathetic and I simply ignore such people. On a happy note, it is good to see more and more women getting involved with the crypto world these days.

Many women just joined and played in cryptocurrency world, but I think they just don't show their gender or not show-off to public.
Look at ICO core team, there are many women working together, especially in influence/advice.
And women are very good in economy, but we can't see people whether as women or men. all is the same in cryptocurrency.
The one who can earn max profit or minimize loss percentage is great or in the top.

I think it's wrong when people are separated by gender. I have seen many women who are hundreds of times smarter than men and Vice versa. A person should be judged by his abilities. This applies not only to crypto-currencies. Some women show in politics the best results. For example, Margaret Thatcher or Angela Merkel.

Most of crytocurrency industry dominant of men is involved here. But then again I believe that no matter what gender preference do you have as long as you are willing to enter the bitcoin world then you will be part of this industry. And I think why women is few in this industry is that because they are busy taking good care of there children.

I found this interesting. I'm one of those women who are more adventurous and I do tend to take more risks, although not so much on the subjects mentioned. I don't gamble on purpose, for example. But I guess I'm more risk-tolerant when it comes to finances, and for that reason was willing to take a risk on cryptos. I will say, though, that the way I went about it was that I found ways to earn cryptos and then I traded those for other cryptos, etc. I actually put very little of my own fiat money into it (except for one period when I tried out mining but I quit when the electric bills got too high compared to what I was earning).

With that said, since the beginning of the year I have been on the lookout for ways to move some of my crypto wealth into vehicles that are more stable and less risk prone. For example, I started a sa770 (https://www.770account.com/) life insurance policy with cash proceeds from the crypto side. I wanted to take at least some of what I'd earned in crypto and turn it into something that has a track record of pretty much always being profitable. I also cashed out some cryptos at the beginning of the year and paid off consumer debt. After I did that, it was like this huge relief for my husband and me. And now if everything I own in crypto were to suddenly go down to zero, at least I have the debts paid off. So in that sense, I'm not as risk averse as it would at first seem.

My theory is that there are approaches and techniques that are peculiar to women that work really well in this space. Actually, crypto is one place where women should absolutely not try to act like men. I think we do far better being ourselves because we see things and make connections that don't come naturally to men. If anything, this industry in some ways is biased towards women. It's just that so far relatively few women have figured this out :) But more are coming on board every day.

Buy the lack of women in this business doesn't mean that they are not that capable of doing this kind of stuffs. They can actually there are no boundaries in this thing. The thing is women tend to not to trust thus bitcoins because they are much more emotional that us so that i think affect the reasons why women are much fewer than men when it comes to cryptos but i am looking forward that more women will be involved next year in this thing.

That's right to some extent, because there are women who wish to take risk and earn through the same. Here all that required is the interest to learn, without which however hard we explain it could never been understood. Right now men might be found high, soon we can see more women users than Men!!

There are probably fewer women traders but it's no secret (proven by research) that women are far superior to men when it comes to success in trading  ;)

Day trading - 40% success rate for women with only 4-10% success rate for men.  90% of men lose money trading.

That's interesting that statistically women do better with day trading than men. Since trading is a bit easier in the cryptospace women could do fantastic in that regard. I know I've made a few good trades that I'm still proud of, though I don't day trade.

With that said, both men and women can easily make the mistake of believing that cryptocurrencies is little more than a trading, speculating game. It's actually a lot more than that. There is a lot of innovation and plenty of opportunities for work and collaboration on some very interesting projects. Many of these projects pay generous bounties. That's a less risky way to accumulate cryptocurrencies, in my opinion. Of course, you can also trade the coins you earn for ones you like better.

Technology should be used by each gender so that it evolve faster and reaches to everyone. Women forms an important part of the ecosystem, Bitcoin helps to sustain anonymity of gender, hence we are unaware of the percentage of men to women. But I strongly believe that they also plays an important role, for example many ICO's generally have men under their development team but you will usually find few girls also their. And it clearly indicates that the opposite gender is also working with us in this industry.

There are some men who think women have nothing to contribute here, but I'm sure they are in the minority. I personally have not encountered a single problem with entering this space. Gender doesn't matter. Of course woman has all rights to use bitcoins at least they're human and containing a brain to use bitcoins . But I am wonder why woman are not putting there gender. Anyways i just dig more about it and found woman are more involve with bitcoin as compare to men and we are not aware of it as bitcoins is anonymous and we don't know who is behind the transactions, male or female.

This is the reality that bitcoin work ( cryptocurrency work ) is not limited to few people but it is spreading in this world fastly and without restrictions , if we can see toward the women involvement in cryptocurrency field then we will find that they are in lesser number but still they are doing better job without saying big.
In my friend circle about 10-20 women ( girls at age 20+ ) are working in bitcoin to make trading and investment and also gambling ( seems shocking ) , but when I asked them then they told that they are making fun of Thier earnings .
So we can say that we should not get shock in any way that womens are involved in this field And with this we should encourage them to use bitcoin and altcoins much and also we should teach them about it.

Surely not only men who are already connected with a crypto currency. There are already many women who are already connected with it.
Yeah.. indeed on women not looks too prominent or more visible showing themselves.
And in general crypto currency is more synonymous with a men or more interested by men. So for women..it's not too looks that was connected with a crypto currency than men if looks in general. Anyhow the woman is more identical to the homework or taking care of her husband/sons when seen in general. ;D and I think the woman that was close to the crypto currency.. it can be said as a career women.

I also noticed that the total amount of women that are involve in bitcoina re fewer than men way too few. But bitcoins do not any discrimination in that because our identity in this business especially in this forum are fully secured so no one knows if you are a women or not but the numbers never lie. For me the reason behind this phenomena is because women tend to be much more emotional than men so for me they are kinda scared to explore new thing especially when taking a lot of risk that involves money.

More like women are just under represented in the IT industry in general, and that is why we also see few women investing in crypto. They basically just don't have the interest in it, though that may be due to societal pressures of being interested in similar things as other women.

There might be women in this industry but I think the ratio will be 97:3 for male and female here, as everyone knows women are not much into investment and stuff all over the world. The lack of female presence in tech is a self reinforced embargo brought on by groupthink.

It's the same as working class people believing working class people don't play tennis...so they don't play tennis either.

If they don't show up in tech roles I couldn't care less just as if I wouldn't care if all tech roles were inhabited by women.

There's nothing stopping anyone doing anything other than societal norms.

Also, women can be very savvy investors because they make connections that don't come as naturally to men.

Granted, arguendo.  If, as you posit, women have a superior ability to “make connections that don’t come as naturally to men”, then would you also allow the possibility that men have abilities “peculiar to men”?  Such may be the cause of men’s overwhelming predominance in mathematics, science, engineering, and a hundred other fields of endeavour.  Otherwise stated, the fields themselves may be “biased towards [men]”.

Actually in developed nations, men might still be earning most of the money, but women definitely decide how to spend it running their households and so forth.

Wait—did you just say that men earn most of the money, and women spend most of it?

Fields in the business and economy are also integrated so that gender doesn't really an issue unless to some that are sexist.

Everyone can use computer and have internet access to that’s up to them now whether they find some time off their house jobs and office work and give it to bitcoin. Good for them too.

It might be true but as long as both the genders are equally contributing to the growth of bitcoin or any cryptocurrencies in general there should not be much of a problem. Mostly males are dominating tech fields but there has been a growth in the number of women in this industry.

now women are active in every work sector.they have more ability to handle any kind of work.

So, what you believe that they will be highly active here also. There might be women in this industry but I think the ratio will be 97:3 for male and female here, as everyone knows women are not much into investment and stuff all over the world. Basically men decide the distribution of funds, leaving that women are goal oriented and already busy in their life and much more factors. Considering all these things one can easily there might be few women here but men outnumber them with a great difference.

Interesting. The ratio probably is 97:3 for male and female here.

The questions is: if women actively involve in the crypto world, will they get the support they need? Many talk about it but few gives tangible help.

maybe women are lesser involved in cryptocurrency is it because women are having lots of responsibilities like doing the household chores and taking care of the kids rather than men that after their working hours they can have relax for a while....but let's not under estimate women today because now they are more competitive..
It is good feature of cryptocurrency/bitcoin that it is not banned for someone and everyone can easily join and earn money through bitcoin. It is reality that in our society women have a lot responsibilities and they have less time in their lives to participate in other extra activities but in the field of bitcoin women are found in enough quantity.

Women get appreciation of people and different societies being a bitcoiner. Shortly, I will say that cryptocurrency bitcoin is shield for women in society which is a good virtual activity for women earning.

As far as I know, there are no surveys  that was conducted to gather this kind of information pertaining to demographics. That said, everything would be plainly assumptions. Cryptocurrency does not depend on whether the user is male or female, but it is true that you say if it is currently dominated by men. If women can be more open minded and use their logic (mostly concerned with feeling) to learn about cryptocurrency, I'm sure they can also be successful. In this industry, both women and men have been simultaneously engaging themselves to a lot of activities. I don't think that there's a legit way to  calculate the number of involvement of each gender.

Regardless of gender, every industry can be empowered and successful if its people are collaborating and uniting. Today, gender inequality and other issues should be put to an end and let every one of us be equal.

^smile^
Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are completely different form of investment where it requires a person to read and work hard in order to study the ecosystem. There are so many risk involved with cryptocurrency investment while women are not good at handling risk. There are way to many ups and downs in the cryptocurrency industry that a lot of women cannot handle. I think some games are only made for men to play that is the reality.

Women are 35% more likely to live in poverty than men.

Two‐thirds of minimum wage earners are women. One in seven women lives below the poverty line. More than
half of all children below the poverty line live in families headed by women.

Women-owned businesses only account for 4% of all dollars lent to small businesses each year.

Female CEOs get only 3% of all venture capital.

https://kairoscenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Poverty-Fact-sheet-Jan-2017.pdf
https://www.fundera.com/blog/the-state-of-online-small-business-lending-q2-2016
https://www.inc.com/magazine/201611/kimberly-weisul/new-face-of-funding.html

If there is any place where women could ever hope for equal funding opportunity, it would be in the crypto world.

Please help and support these women. Please don't block their bitcointalk topics, reddit accounts, copycat their projects, hack their websites, hack their emails, leave bad comments, or do other things to block their projects. Please guide and support them instead. Above all, please help promote and fund their projects.

Women lead projects may not sound as grand as men lead projects, but are often more practical, and could be great for long term investments. Women's projects quite often focus on people, especially those who need help most, children, seniors and communities. The money invested in women lead projects may spread wide, last a long time, and generate abundant returns in time.

Society today has progressed and evolved in the comparative to the last century. A man was always in the charge and women were discriminated and there didn't have any rights. That could be also seen in the standard stock market where you couldn't see one woman that was bidding on the desired stock.

Today the rules have changed and this online crypto market is allowing the woman to invest in desired coins without even revealing their identity. Women are taking control slowly and we are not aware of it yet. We have all equal rights and I am glad that this market is influencing the gentle gender.

Women succeeds as Men does. Men and women has equal rights    in society and in the eyes of God. And we shouldn't let anyone deprived nor questions what women can do and give. There are women empowered and now successful leaders and businesswoman in different line of fields. As to this, i believe that there are succesful women traders and investors in cryptoworld and can compete and better than the guys out there.everyone can and do better in this cryptoworld and gender has nothing to do with this😊.

I think there are more women than people think, but as a woman, I do feel like the space is still very male dominated. This is a huge generalisation, but I would bet that women are just quietly getting on with things and learning, whereas men seem to be all about "wenMoon/WenLambo/Scam/Shitcoin" etc!  :P

I agree with your statement that the world of cryptocurrency is no longer inhabited by men, many of the women who are involved in it, they prefer to keep silent and focus because so far the women are famous for their thoroughness and to be more resilient chose to continue to deepen cryptocurrency rather than publicize it for involvement

Women in the cryptocurrency industry is not that big like the number of the male in the cryptocurrency industry and i think the reason is the lack of awareness of the female from this opportunity since they are not so exposed in the internet because they are so busy putting their time in taking care and doing some girly stuff instead of finding some opportunity.

I do know some girls who are still active in earning in crypto, some maybe were afraid on putting too much effort since they are afraid of scam and they are not that determined too much, and others got easily give up when they lose for example in an investment. Men were too thrilled on challenges that the market gives due to its volatility.

join wish to secure financial future, in that way we are all the same.
Who will succeed, who have more chances is not si important. We are giving our best and
we are hoping or the best. This can be a job like any other, sex does of play important role
when you are on internet. You can introduce yourself  as you wish, you can stay anonymous,
girls can do that same as boys. Blockchain is open for everyone, girls that like internet are

The market of crypto-currency combines many different people. They work hand in hand, despite social status, race, religion and way of life. Everyone is happy here for every new member. And all this is due to the fact that women were admitted to the helm. Since they are able to seek and unite talents from different subcultures, with different concepts and concepts of life. In the bitcoin market, everyone can show their abilities and talents.

This is big truth that lots of females are involved in this field to make earnings , but here reality is that there are not showing own self as a woman .
Here I can see the direct example in my friend circle that about 9 womens are working at part time and they are only house wife but still working much for earnings and also making lots of profit in Thailand field .
Well here we can se that in the practical life women's are working for the practical job like mens are doing , so here we can expect the same for crypto currency work .
So no doubts that womens are involved in this field in many numbers and working for better earnings and also taking the advantages of the use of cryptourrency .

Usually in a new industry, men occupy the majority. This may be the more aggressive behavior of men. Women spend more time in their lives and their own families. In addition, in the encrypted currency circle, the IT industry is most closely related to it, while men in the IT industry have a very high proportion.

I Agree with you. I would also say that maybe because it is the nature of men to provide for the family,  I think that is one of the reasons why mean are aggressive on lookong for an extra income.something to find a way to provide for a family .pkus the fact that men are really into technology, they are very good in thay compare to women.

Women and men definitely have different and complementary skills, so both are important for the industry to really thrive. I think in general, men would be better at trading because they can more easily take their emotions out of it. Women are way better at networking and making connections, which is absolutely vital in a new industry. I think to succeed you really need to have a lot of self knowledge about your skills, strengths and weaknesses, and then figure out a way to maximize on your strengths while improving the weaknesses.

The people who say ultimately it doesn't matter if you are a man or woman in this industry are correct. You can make it here with no prejudice because of the anonymity. For example, can anyone know just by my handle "wiser" what gender I am?

But I do find it interesting to study the differences because biologicaly and otherwise, men and women are different and bring very different skills and talents to this industry, all of which are valuable in moving the industry forward.

By numbers, currently, there are definitely more males in the crypto space than females..
Any crypto meetup/event/chat I've been a part of, the females are heavily outnumbered by the males, but I definitely think this will start to even out over time. The entire IT space as a whole is more male dominated than female so I think its only natural we'd see this reflect in the crypto space, especially in these early days (ie pre-mass adoption).

IMO, the whole issue is insignificant.. Its like saying there are mostly 25-40 year olds in the crypto  space..
Who cares? Its just something for the media to blab on about because 'gender equality' is their flavour of the month topic..

I do agree with OP that there are certainly more females in the space than is talked about, and there are certainly females doing big things in crypto.
Take Dr. Gemma Green for example, one of the founders of Power Ledger, one of the most successful projects of 2017 and Australia's biggest ICO to date.

From the consumer side of things, I (female) am the person in my house/family who is the crypto junkie and I'm the most successful trader/investor within my immediate circle so far (yes, most of the others are males).

Some of the comments here are right in saying, us females probably just aren't as vocal about it.

PS:

I don't think that there is more woman here in the crypto world because woman are fragile in making decisions. We all know that woman will choose focus on their make up that the bitcoin and that is a possible reality.

Dumbest comment I've read all week!  ::)
You think there are less women in crypto because we are 'fragile in making decisions'..?
Haha! I nearly choked on my coffee from laughing so hard at your stupidity..

.... now I better go and focus on my makeup ::) :P

We cannot determined the volume of women in this cryptocurrency industry. Yes there are only few be seen because of the anonymous we couldnt count. However, most of women are into use of online because of wanted to earn money.

Agree with you, the only reason why we are here in this crypto world wether a men or a women is that we wanted to earn. We want to earn to sustain what we need in life. Women right now do have different views of life as compared before. Women of today are not just engage in some household chores but also we can do things that men able to do. Nahh I disagree, you can do these campaigns in the comfort of your home. Women are too flexible for you to say that they're just for house and children. I have to say that I know a lot of woman who can multitask lots of stuffs. Doing houseworks, taking care of their children, but is doing business at the same time. So why not do it in crypto right? Women have more value than men, they have a high level of charm, if they play bitcoin I'm sure the spread will be very fast.

I think their nothing wrong with that if women involved in crytocurrency. What men can do,women can do too.About bitcoin if men can earn bitcoin why not women, girls are more patient in terms of waiting to achieved  their dreams and more passionate in what they do. Specialy they can multitask everything good in time management.

Probably this is true, cause women were often left inside the house to take care of their children and household chores, Bitcoin will serve as leisure activity for them to make their day less boring. I think this is possible cause women were fast learning as well as multi-tasker, they were able to do things differently with each other at the same time.

The difference is women have a tough task as mother and wife and some other things that are natural. Probably still not in accordance with modern principles but this applies in various countries.
women have no freedom to have a career and conduct economic activities such as crypto trading. requires education so that women have equal rights in all things.

I think that we should not discuss such issues as cryptocurrency, men, women and fewer girls. In fact, this is already a type of sex discrimination. Everyone is a unique individual and I am also a girl. I may not understand enough in this industry to encrypt money, but I Still very hard to learn.

What kind of world do you live in if you think openly discussing something like this is some sort of discrimination.

“The bitcoin industry has been punished for the lack of women,”
I think topic is nice, but article you choose to show us is not so good in my
opinion. I did not get gold invitation to join in the Bitcoin club, I saw what it is
and I decided to join. I was free to choose, and that this the privilege for all of
us humans, for man's and woman's. Bitcoin does not suffer cause someone
did not join.
All humanity will be on Blockchain, woman's will suffer cause they did not
recognize Bitcoin potential on the time. They can blame man's for that but
truth is that girls like to spend time on social networks more, they could
choose to spent time learning about Bitcoin like we do.

Why people think women contribute very less towards the cryptocurrency industry :
  • Women can't handle technical knowledge.
  • Unlike men, women aren't very good with investments.
  • Women are supposed to be housewives.
  • Women aren't as capable as men are.
  • Women who are supposed gold diggers and like to spend time on fashion related stuff/shopping.
Any feminists here? I certainly do think women are capable of doing much more and they should be actively participating in crypto community atleast now if they haven't already. There are quite a few women in this forum, from a camgirl to a DT member.

Women are not just for household chores and plain housewives, nowadays, woman needs to be more practical and do multi-tasking. We can earn even we're at home doing those chores and taking care of our family. I, as woman can do what man can do or more than that. In the cryptocurrency industry there are not different between men and women, all the gender is the same in the cryptocurrency industry. Who is the best in analyze the cryptocurency will be the best don’t care who are they, men or women. If the women have knowledge and could control their cryptocurency it will be they can make more benefit than the men. There are not discrimination between men and women in the cryptocurency system, who is the best will get much profit.

Womens role in a far distant past is to bear young and care for them and for more than a centuries women was dominated by man, but time has changed. I was depressed, so now in 2018 - and huge air drops were in the past years.I was in a good mood when I found out that now it is possible to receive 20,000 Marinecoins daily, simply by posting a message (until the total fund of several billion has run dry). The coins have wide plans. The developer tries to make this fair distribution as transparent and honest as possible. Therefore, he hopes that the coin will find a broad community. The coin has its own story. It was developed in 2013, was released in 2014. About a year later the project went into oblivion, as the coin was traded on bankrupt exchanges, and the miners, because of the disadvantage, ceased to support it.In this regard, the project is being revived with more advanced technologies, and already more without miners - dev-less.Although now the developer does not say much about the project, being afraid of theft of ideas, but it is already clear about some future technologies, namely: proof of promotion, self sustaining, machine to machine, artificial intelligence. Of course, all this - and perhaps much else in the future - will give the coin a special value in the world of crypto-currency.If you are interested in a coin, and you are confident in its technologies and the right to your future - you can at this time buy additional points on their home exchange, buying about 1 satosh about 2 coins.Have time to participate in the distribution of the coin, which a few years ago was the only crypto currency that surpassed the capitalization of bitcoin for several months.

It doesn't really matter if there are more men than women or vice versa in the industry of cryptocurrency. The end goal here, which is to make it mainstream, doesn't involve genders. For once, men and women can agree in unison that cryptocurrency has been the best thing that ever had since sex.

I have seen many women join the crypto market. That means that the popularity of the crypto market on opportunities and risks is being taken into account by the global community because of its potential and strength in terms of profitability. We can expect more and more women to be aware of the opportunity to invest in this market. That will create a richer and more diverse market.

Why does gender always have to be an issue with everything. Honestly, the cryptocurrency industry couldn't careless if you're a woman or a man. The point of all this is to make cryptocurrency well known all across the globe and any man or woman could do it. Even without showing their faces, they can do it.

I know a lot of women who deal with crypto-currencies, and do it perfectly! sometimes some men underestimate our capabilities, we always very responsibly approach the solution of various problems.

I have been doing this since 2014, and I do not care whether the market is falling or growing, for me the global implementation of blockchane  into our everyday life!
That's what's important!

There are already a lot of woman who's into cryptocurrency nowadays. Yes, there's more men that women but I guess it's because men are most likely to face the risks involved in cryptocurrency even without much background about it, while womens tend to study it first but sometimes they maybe scared to take the risk or just do some other alternative ways to earn other that bitcoin with a lower risk.

I Am one of those women in cryptocurrency and I know there are lots of women here . Men I think they are born to be the provider of the family and good in technology so that is maybe the reason why there are lots of men than women in thia cyrpto world.

It's 20th World. Now women and men are not compared. Although women are not evaluated in some poor countries.
Quote
“The bitcoin industry has been punished for the lack of women,” says Perianne Boring
Some quota has been done for women. If someone does not mean that law, then it is punished. Female interest in cryptocurrency however, is gradually growing. So women walk in all walks of life.

It is well known the little involvement of women in this type of activities related to finance and digital technology, but it is enough to see the teams of developers of many of the new cryptocurrencies that are emerging to realize that there are already several women fully integrated into this sector, although it is clear that the vast majority are still men.

Gender doesn't matter as long as they are capable in doing this business. What matters is you have the resources to invest and then earned.  All are equally and can be a part of anything.

I can say that I am happy that the women is now also offered opportunities with the help of bitcoin. This is an excellent alternative to the subscription campaign.Taking the opportunity, I can advise a great air drop. You can receive 20,000 Marinecoins daily, simply by writing a post about Marinecoin. The coin is unique in history, surpassing the capitalization of bitcoins! The project is reborn. Now the coin is already traded on the stock exchange (true at home, but this is only the beginning). Now happens fair distribution (with proof of promotion), with the aim of expand the community. The coin will have many technologies and extensions ahead ( dev-less, self sustaining, machine to machine, artificial intelligence). Therefore, I believe that it will gain value in the future.More details can be found after the end of the distribution.

Women nowadays are very versatile. You can give them a certain work and they surely will give you a good outcome. The guy-dominated fields we once new before are now having women accompanying them. Just like in the movie "Hidden Figures" where women in NASA don't do the things which they are completely capable of. And here in the crypto world, there is a place for everyone, especially women. And yes, they just prefer  not to put their gender front and center, like here in this forum.

In addition, there are also notable women in the crypto industry, namely (1) Elizabeth Stark (Lightning Labs), (2) Meltem Demirors (DCG), (3) Galia Benartzi (Bancor), (4) Rhian Lewis (London Women in Bitcoin), and (5) Elizabeth McCauley (Bitcoin Foundation).

There is no advantages if you are a man or a woman as we are all investors in these industry that aims to be successful. Cryptocurrency is basically investment, and women represent a small minority of the investment population. Because women are more risk averse. They often view themselves as financially responsible for both themselves and their families, and see risk as not just personal loss - but loss to potential future benefit of children that would not be recoverable. Men tend not to see risk in this fashion, focusing on potential personal gain and viewing loss as generally recoverable.
