Title: DannyHamilton's Escrow Service
Post by: DannyHamilton on July 11, 2013, 03:34:00 PM
RESERVED FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS

As of January 2015, I no longer have the time available to give escrow the attention necessary to provide a quality service.  As such, I am no longer available to handle escrow.

I have been asked numerous times to hold escrow for a variety of altcoin initial offerings. Please do not contact me with such requests. Below is my standard response to any request to escrow an altcoin initial offering. If you send me such a request, you will simply receive the following in response:

Quote
If your altcoin will be successful, then you will earn value from the coins you own.  If your altcoin will not be successful, then you shouldn't be receiving payment from others for it. Either way there is no reason to be receiving bitcoins.

Regardless, I don't escrow any altcoin initial offerings.  Given the likely number of participants, and the frequency and duration of transactions, I don't have enough time available to offer a quality escrow service on such an effort.

I refuse to provide low quality escrow service, so instead I choose to avoid holding escrow at all for any event where I feel unable to provide a high quality service.

It doesn't matter how much of the "bitcoin take" you are willing to share, and it doesn't matter how much of your pre-mined coins you are willing to share, your initial offering does not interest me.

Just successfully escrowed 9.5 btc through Danny. He is extremely professional and covers all bases. The transaction went as smooth as possible.
I would recommend danny as a safeguard for any trade with some heft to it.

Another escrow held by Danny. 3.58 btc

The buyer sent me the gdmp code before I had loaded the escrow address so there was a little confusion, but all is well that ends well.

Dannyhamilton is a great and trustworthy friend of mine. Have done business with him twice so far,and hes a true star! Just did an escrow transaction for me with 3 coins, and also traded about 20 coins with him. I have full trust in him from now on when dealing with him for trades, that I dont even really need to use an escrow service when trading coins with him. +! Keep it up brotha!

Also Danny, I just received the refund check from your moneypack.

I'll be cashing it tomorrow, so if you don't hear otherwise by tomorrow night everything's good and you can toss the receipt.

For the record I sent first on this trade and recieved a fully loaded moneypack.
I hit a limit with greendot and they have mailed me a check.

Smooth trade regardless.

Anyone who's used this service care to vouch for the provider? I'll be needing an escrow real soon
and I've read far too many posts on John's thread regarding him being absent and not keeping his escrow service
users updated and I don't want to have to wait too long for a transaction to complete. Thanks in advance!

I'm around now.  I'm sorry I missed your call. I'm not sure why it didn't work for you, I've had other people contact me that way successfully in the past.

If you're still looking for this escrow, send me a PM with the details.

No party. No sleep.  Just didn't receive the call for some unknown reason.

Wanted to vouch for Danny. Did a $1000 transaction w/ another user, and Danny was spot on. He was extremely professional, communicated the entire time - asked good questions that I didn't think of during the transaction. Danny covered all the bases, and went above and beyond as well.

I highly recommend using Danny's Escrow service, and I plan on using him for the foreseeable future.

Thanks Danny!

I am not sure how to add 'Trust' to your profile, but please let me know how I can, you deserve it.

To add positive or negative trust for someone:

Click the "Trust" link under their name on the left side of the post (or near the bottom of their profile page).

Enter the amount of BTC (or equivalent value) that they could have taken if they were not trustworthy in the text box labeled "Risked BTC". It is okay to put 0 here if you are just making a general comment about whether you trust the person or not, and not commenting about a specific transaction.

If the person acted in an untrustworthy manner, then mark the "This This rating is negative" checkbox.

Optionally: If there is a URL with discussion about the transaction (or just general discussion about the reason the person is or isn't trustworthy), you can paste a link in the text box labeled "Reference link"

Type a short description about why you are leaving feedback in the text box labeled "Comments".

Click the "Submit" button.

RESERVED FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS

Due to a variety of high priority obligations, I will not have enough time available to give escrow the proper attention is deserves until January 10.

Rather than provide an inferior and frustrating experience, I've chosen to suspend my escrow activities until that date.

Any currently pending escrow agreements will continue to be handled as promptly as I can, but I will not be initiating any new escrow agreements until after January 10.

Why?  Are you getting a license to act as an escrow agent on Jan 10?  Or are you just going to pretend you are an escrow agent and continue to operate illegally?

I provide escrow free of charge as a community service for members.

If someone chooses to send me a gratuity then I graciously accept it, but it is not a requirement.

Perhaps the word escrow means something different in your language than it does in mine.

Merriam-Webster says:

Escrow (noun) - a deed, a bond, money, or a piece of property held in trust by a third party to be turned over to the grantee only upon fulfillment of a condition

So long as bitcoin is considered to be either "money" or "a piece of property" by all parties involved in the arrangement, it seems that I'm using the term properly.  Is there a "right" way to "hold in trust" and "turn over to the grantee only upon fulfillment of a condition" that is done differently than how I do it?

Hi, I want to use your service for buying a skype gift card, how can we do it?

Find someone that is selling a skype gift card.

Negotiate with them the cost in bitcoins for the card.

Contact me with the userID of the person that you are buying from and the details of the transaction.

I'll send both of you an escrow agreement that will include a bitcoin address.

After you both confirm that I've correctly stated the terms of the exchange in the escrow agreement, then you send the negotiated amount of bitcoins to the bitcoin address from the agreement.

Once the escrow address has received the number of confirmations stated in the agreement, the seller provides you with the skype gift card.

You notify me when the gift card is redeemed.

I then release the bitcoins from the escrow address to the seller.

If there is any disagreement about whether or not you have received a valid skype gift card, then I'll open a public discussion in the "Scam Accusations" sub-forum.  You will both publically present any evidence you have in support of what you each claim has happened.  I facilitate the conflict resolution to the best of my ability and will release the bitcoins in as fair a way as I possibly can within the constraints of the escrow agreement.
