Title: Do you regret selling your BTCs?
Post by: AICoin_Official on December 08, 2017, 11:54:19 AM
To be honest, as you can see, the current price of BTC is just unbelievable, have you ever owned some BTCs before? If so, are they still in your wallet? You may be deadly regretable if you already sold them out? I guess.

P.S.: I have an price analysis for today as below.

BTC:
BTC price skyrockets though day traders dump their BTCs out of panic, nevertheless, those new traders rushing into the market are still taking those BTCs over at high levels. Here is my advice: For BTC believers, you can just hold on to your BTCs however the price changes. For day traders, pay special attention to the short-term risks. Once price breaks below MA 5, profit booking should be considered. Nothing will just keep increasing in price without dips, we’ll have another chance to buy BTC in sooner or later.

BCH:
BCH got supported just above the line as I circled yesterday. Today, we saw a violent rally of BCH price which seemed fearless when facing BTC’s astonishing gains, indicating that main funds are determined to protect BCH from dropping. Competitive coins against BTC will have another round of bullish trend when BTC price starts a correction.

LTC:
LTC got a short-term and effective support at current price. A good rally of LTC price is expected when BTC price starts a correction. Also, it’s likely for LTC to continues setting a new all-time high, holding on to your positions is the best strategy for now.

ETC:
ETC price action seems relatively weak. Though forks are coming to ETC like what happened to BTC, the overall environment is changed now. Therefore, ETC is still likely to be oscillating and downward in terms of short-term price trend.

Altcoins:
Those altcoins with support from main funds can be our targets. The astonishing surges in BTC price almost lower all altcoins’ prices, including those with positions set by main funds. Altcoins mentioned above are expected to experience a good rally in price and regain their grounds taken by BTCs. Let’s wait and see.

Well part of me is regretting that i sold my bitcoin in the past but still if i didn't sell it that time i won't reach on where i am today. Bitcoin price is still increasing and i think it will reach a higher price till the end of 2017 but as the saying say ''live life with no regrets.''

Im just a small dolphin, OP.

I only sold btc to pay my file cloud service. Regretted it, should have used fiat instead.

I also sold some to buy altcoins, but most of those were eventually sold to buy bitcoin back. So no harm here.

Never shorted it in a fiat exchange, though. Been thinking about it, but its too risky.

I will regret if I sell BITCOIN too early, I better delay the time to sell BITCOIN at the right time, essentially do not be sneaky sell BITCOIN because bitcoin prices in the market volume specified, so sell casual.

It alright we do mistakes not sometimes but everytime even if your not a klutz were not perfect man. And we didnt know that bitcoin has that potential to grow. Well its understandable why people dont trust bitcoin st first cause its not well credited and safe or can be said legit because it is decentralized. Although if you use it and experience using it you might be overwhelmed of the growing value over a short time in a modern world.

Little a bit for sure, who ever say no is lying. Many people are surprised with this bitcoin price, we expected price rise but who thought that we will see so fast rise. I'm a believer and I always was, but I sold many bitcoins before this rise, and I always try to look forward and to not regret for missed opportunities, but there is always but some moments come and I feel a bit disappointed in my decisions, but who knew that it will happen so fast, I thought I will have a lot more time before we pass 1.000$.

Obviously, who doesn't regret selling their bitcoin?

But the thing is nobody would have told you with confidence and bet you all their life savings that bitcoin was going to be this high at this current time. So it could have went both ways and it turned out that the holders have been correct.

The rally could ahve ended on $2k if the august 1st events messed up, but it didn't. These were all unpredictable.

Plus, if you had to sell bitcoins for your personal use or an emergency, there was really nothing to avoid it.

Kinda but not that kind of super solid regret. 50% Nope, Because i have used the money for my family's need and I helped them to the unpaid bills which made me happy and grateful to Bitcoin. 50% Yes, because you missed something-type of regret but not that kind of serious regret, 50% yes Because i missed the opportunity to sell it on higher prices which would give me more cash and help my family more. But hey, it is already done and i don't have fully regret on selling it since that for my personal use and it really helped me a lot, I just didn't sell it for nothing.

So Now, I have learned my lesson and of course other people also to do not hesitate on selling your Bitcoin if it is for your personal use and Decide wisely guys, your hard earned Bitcoin is precious , Bitcoin is volatile but not your decision and needs, Bitcoin's price is unpredictable same as your situation and needs so my advice to other people who are hesitating, Sell it if you need it, do not hesitate. If the only solution for you to have money is on selling Bitcoin, do it.

Why regret when you get loads of money from selling bitcoin and you can still get bitcoin or take back what you loss in terms of profit, only regret when you gain nothing in return but since selling bitcoin give so much money there no regret in this.

I was in on Canarys first batch (2013) of the USB miners and spent 30 BTC for 15 of them and look back at my wallet now shaking my head....

also a few years back I wanted to show my wife that the Bitcoins had value so I paid for our Motel room thru Expedia ...spent .45BTC ...I guess that turned out to be a expensive room..LOL

The last coins I sold was when we hit $5000....so glad I held the rest of what I got. Not sure what I will do with my BCC once Coinbase releases them next month.

Regretting just makes it even worst, you just need to accept the fact and move on and try go earn and gain bitcoin because the possibility that it will still grow is 100% And I think you would end up complaining about the price getting pump up so much and not invest in bitcoin sooner, there is no point in sobbing just go with the flow of bitcoin, And in the past no one knows that the price of bitcoin can surge like this.

I sold alot of bitcoin when it was less expencive.
I can't say that I regret it because I was forced to do to pay daily expenses. Besides I wasn't expecting the price to reach this level.
What I really regret is not selling but not buying when I had the opportunity but I am always optimistic and there still a chance to recuperate.
People who panic at any crisis and start selling at low prices, those should regret.

I sometimes do, especially when the price gets higher right after. I sometimes convert my BTC to cash in order to purchase useless and impractical things whenever I feel like splurging. There are times when I think about how much I probably could have profit had I not cashed out my BTC but having regrets or thinking about it would lead to nothing. Next time, I should just probably limit my use and stay firm in hodling.

Well in the past I am just spending much of my bitcoin with the things that are not really needed and I am just treating it for some other currency back then, but I was wrong in thinking it for just a currency because after seeing the price of bitcoin right now if I just treated my bitcoin as an asset just like gold and other precious metals I will be a millionaire for sure, And I think regret will always be there and there are a lot of us that have done the same thing in the past.

I've never sold. I have spent which is effectively the same.

I am the proud owner of a (broken) $9000 Samsung Galaxy S3, a $4000 tent, a real shitty $400 laptop sleeve and no doubt much more.

Do I regret it? Nah. Not really. I spent the most when it returned to the $1000 mark. It was time for BTC to pay for a bit of fun. I'll be doing plenty more of it in the future too.

Yep, regret investing 50 BTC  I got from mining back in 2013.  Stupid me lost them all.  They were around  $70 a coin back then.   It seemed incomprehensible at that time that BTC would reach these levels.   I am HODL'ing onto my last coins like Gollum.  ;-) hehehe

by that i mean when i did sell, it was cool because when i did it was usually for a good enough reason, toys i really wanted, vacations, gifts. and years ago it was to promote actual use of btc.

but.

when i look at how many btc i had vs what i hodled.. well.. damn. spent many millions of usd worth of  btc at todays prices.

oh well, no regerts.

I do not. I have sold some BTCs in the past and I sure will still be selling some now and in the future. I am not going to be stupid enough anyway to sell everything but when cash is needed to do somethings and your job totally revolves around the crypto and trading world, you will definitely not want to leave all your earnings in bitcoin. So, I am still cool with myself, knowing I am still gaining a lot from the one I have been saving. Moreover, what is the point of regretting one's decisions in life when we can absolutely not change what has happened. The only best way is to make some amends and get going!

I hugely regret selling some of my BTC in 2016. This 2017 was insane. So much demand and hike in price. I regret my move more because I didn't need my btc at that time and just because of risk of price falling, I took that decision. I still hold many BTC. But that was a regretful move. Now I am holding my BTC for longer until I need money.

@ op, yes.
Basically....
I'm bad at saving money. But if I was halfway decent at saving money, it'd take me about 1,190 years to save up to what I've potentially had in BTC if I held up to this date.

Even if I had a better job and saved more, it'd still be like 250+ years worth of savings.

so yeah...  :'(

It's not that bad of a feeling though.
I'm sure a portion of those people from Satoshi dice who would gamble 250+ BTC nonstop feel pretty bad now. But they were probably already multi millionaires, so meh.

That's basically how I look at it too.

$25,000 back massager,
$425,000 worth of books,
200 incense sticks for $2,550
$55,000 high velocity floor fan,...
etc... etc

absolutely disgusting

 :D

I've found old forgotten login details from over the years and have found small BTC's worth on em. Pretty sure I've recovered most everything at this point.
---- however I do have ~5 old dead laptops I think I should rip apart and SATA->USB them and see if there's any BTC to be had there. But, At most, there may be a few thousand $ on them, nothing life changing.

basically, I regret selling my bitcoin too early because the price was in a lower price. but I have some urgent thing that I really need money to that things. I think we don't have to regret this because we still have another time to collect more bitcoin and the price will still increase later. it is better that we prepare our future from now on than we regret what we've done in the past.

That's a wrong decisions that we ever made mate, I myself also regret those btc's I've sold for the past year. Those amounts reached at around 0.1 btc in total but all of them also sold at low price. If I hold that until for eight months maybe I am also wealthy same as your friend. So its recommended to hold bitcoins rather than selling it early.

I truly regret selling my Bitcoins days before the surge. The price increase were not expected at all so there's nothing I can do now. And now, I don't have any BTC at hand. I have some altcoin but I am deciding to hold unto them and wait for the price to increase.

Very nice explanation you got there with respect to some specific coins. Beneficial for traders out there. However, I think you missed ETH?

Everyone is experiencing the same thing. We all do not think that Bitcoin can achieve this level, This is a miracle in my opinion because the price increase is very unusual. In fact, I've seen this as a new economic power, the volume and market share owned by Bitcoin has outgrown other important assets in the world today.

I am disappointed with what I did some time ago, I am not patient and sell Bitcoin at a low price, usually I am affected by the action of panic sell. That's what I think is a difficult thing to avoid. But I believe that I can get much better things, most importantly I have the passion and hard work to be able to improve my life much better.

I guess we all feel regrets because nobody can really tell what will be the tomorrow's  of our coins that we're holding.
And all we can do is to trust and believe with it. Personally, I sold mine because I needed fiat badly and selling it is my last resort.
But after that I hold it as long as I can and now I'm almost sitting with almost 100% profit.

maybe a little bit regrets, but it is ok to me to sell that bitcoin before, because we all people learned from mistakes and we all dont know what will truly happen in future. so that mistakes leads me to not give up and to have not more bitcoin, but enough to afford what i have to loose incase this bitcoin price drop down in future. and i will hodl this bitcoin i have until i reached my price goals.

I try not to look backwards. It's swings and roundabouts - it's hard to predict the price. As long as you sold for more than you purchased your coins for, you are in profit and thus ahead of most of mankind.

Yes, after selling the bitcoin when price increases the mind agonize stating that we could have held it for a short instance too. This is quite the common feeling of human beings, but when we look at the thing for which we used the same amount, it gives us the joy and never lets us regret for the same.

Yes, definitely.  If I'd been as tight-fisred as I should've been these past 2.5 years, I would've easily saved more money in crypto than I currently have in stocks, and it would have needed far less of an initial outlay.   I totally regret selling and spending bitcoin right now--and the reason I did both is because I didn't have enough faith in bitcoin.

I figured it'd be years before we hit $16k.

And I never figured Dash would be close to $1000.  These are crazy times we're living in.

To be honest, as you can see, the current price of BTC is just unbelievable, have you ever owned some BTCs before? If so, are they still in your wallet? You may be deadly regretable if you already sold them out? I guess.

If you take a look at the price movement og Bitcoin from the past 11 months up until today you can easily tell that majority of the people who sold their Btc, no matter when, will always regret and Im not exempted. I sold a small portion of my Btc when the price was around 4k. I never thought it could increase instantaneously with a short period of time. I may have regret it but its never too late, Im slowly recovering now.

Well part of me is regretting that i sold my bitcoin in the past but still if i didn't sell it that time i won't reach on where i am today. Bitcoin price is still increasing and i think it will reach a higher price till the end of 2017 but as the saying say ''live life with no regrets.''
Exactly! We are bound to make mistakes in life and how we retrace back to get the best of it is what counts.
Regret will not solve any problem and in as much as we could feel very angry within us and keep imagining what we would have accomplished or where we would have been, it won't still change the present status. If you miss the chance for the past, always remember there is still a future ahead of you.

Who really would not regret something like that, considering the fact that bitcoin has really grown hugely in value than one would have imagined right from the onset. It is a good thing though and stuffs like this gives one more confidence on why we really need to believe more in bitcoin to give us what we really expect. What has happened cannot be taken back; the most important thing is the future.

When btc reaches $5000 I sell some btc i gladly, I think maybe this is the best price but I made a big mistake. I regret to this day I still mourn the regret that I did in the past. Fortunately not too stupid to sell all mine, I still keep 2 btc until now. I will keep it until 2020.

Yes of course. I regret selling and exchanging every bitcoin I earned because prices volality is just starting to get really high. And I know that there will be more urges coming.
At another end, I simply recall my own reasons why I need to sell them. I spend every cent as for my needs in school expenses and tools I need for my own career practices.
I think that what I earn through this forum gives me enough to help me support my allowances. And I think everything is worth it. By that, I have no regrets.

I do not regret because I understand the realities. Those who used to work with bitcoin got the main profit, and we are so on a grain of sand, so it's better to sell now than not to get anything at all. So this is normal.

I never regret on selling my bitcoins as whatever bitcoins I gave that are earned and not invested so whenever I m satisfied with the price I sell my bitcoins as I know that I can earn it back.
still no matter i have earned that bitcoin come from your own work not from your capital , selling bitcoin on low price where you can see higher price , it always be a big regret. it sounds like a BS when you feel nothing to see your 1 bitcoin supposed has $15,000 instead $150.

the point are you should never put the whole money to buy or sell it. save some for certain unexpected moment like ATH or the crash moment.

Absolutely yes, we all regret our bitcoin selling each time we see the current price of the one bitcoin, and also when we think about the potential value of this last. However, in my opinion this point ,that you have focused on, is the weakest point of the bitcoin, since we cannot find a solution that frees us from this negative vibes each time we sell money. The only way helping is to get used to such situations.

Fortunately for me, I started fiat shorting recently. It is a whole lot risky, but with some huge amount, one can be making some pretty good amount of cash daily even though it can be crazily stressful. You do not have to regret anything, what you should do now is to make sure you do everything not to regret the future. We cannot always win every time and life itself has left room for us to make some mistakes and learn from it.

I have been holding my bitcoin for a long time now and despite the fact that some people keep singing rubbish into their own ears not mine concerning bitcoin being a bubble, I just feel they are extremely butthurt, they could not buy when every other person was busy buying and they wish we could drop it back at that value for them. Their wish!

Those who are holding big amount of bitcoin they are lucky that the price was hit 1000% increased this year for me regretting like the other who just gamble their bitcoin for fun and those people sold their bitcoin for living including me are regretting its impossible they are not regretting because if we compare the price last year and today the price is increase too much high its impossible to think if the price is real or not..
Well i am lucky that i experience the history of bitcoin right now i changed my mind over all honestly i save my bitcoin for future purposes that i'm sure bitcoin can increase more in the future investing my money for mining that i hope i can mine enough to make benefits of bitcoin in the future..

If you have sold your bitcoins in the past and if it has helped you in your real life by giving some extra cash in hands then you should not regret about it as no one will be willing to hold their bitcoins forever without selling it and whenever you are in need of money or if you see good price then there is nothing wrong in selling it as it has always helped us and we should keep those things in mind instead of regretting on it as in future you will get many more chances to earn it back.

A little bit, back in 2016 I was sold my bitcoin, at that time price still not high as now  :-\  ,comparing value now it could be 3-5 times.
I bought back some btc in August with price raising fast, I didn't expect in 2017 the price went up like a rocket at all. This could be regret, but i was realize this bitcoin is future investing asset that worth to hold.

I'm still holding most of my bitcoin while it is obvious that I have spent some in some useless things I still have most of it, I do not have a lot of it but every month I'm adding a small amount and when we take into account the future price increases of bitcoin then any bitcoin that you earn today is a bitcoin that is going to become more difficult to earn tomorrow due to the appreciation of the price of bitcoin.

If you're an early adopter and had bitcoins at the beginning of the year or earlier and you've seen the price go up a few thousands  and decided to sell in order to grab the gains, you certainly are regretting that. Now you see the price rocketing to 18K in just a few weeks, you must be eating your heart out.
But no worries, just buy again and hold till at least next year. It's not too late to profit from Bitcoins increasing price.

Regret is not the right word for what I feel when I look at the potential profit that I could have if I just held on to my BTC and never sold most of it for alts. Its a weird feeling, but I still stand by my decisions and am confident that my investments in the alts that I bought will be worth it in the end. So no, I dont really regret it.

The only regret is that converting bitcoin in low price because of the needs. We sell bitcoin for important purpose and have to earn more to have an amount on my wallet again for investment. There is no regret because the purpose why earning bitcoin is to have financial support for everything we need. We feel the financial freedom through earning bitcoin.

There I feel sad because when bitcoin prices go up I can not sell bitcoin, because his wallet is empty. Since I sell bitcoin for daily living needs, bitcoin has changed my life for the better.

Personally, I sort of regretting my bitcoin. It I just have the mentally to be strong and hold on it even for a year, I should have been millionaire by today's price. I have stocks that I been holding for more than 2 years, I question myself why I can't really hold bitcoin for at least 6 months?

I guess most of us here regretting as well. But its just part of our journey. I'm making new strategy for next year though, I will get a hardware wallet and put everything on them in small portions if ever there's a opportunity to get it at economical price and just let it there for a long time.

Not only that, the other thing that I regret worth mentioning is that I lost bitcoin before not from scam or Ponzi but I totally lost my wallet and my private key. Way back then when I was still a newbie about crypto and bitcoin.  :(

But now i am happy with the value of my bitcoin since almost all my capital was already withdrawn and my rest investment is my income in my previous investment what even happy i only lost is time.

I did owned few bitcoins before when it was $200 but I did sold most of it at $1,000 since I thought it's profit taking already. Some are still in my wallet but most of them was sold. I'm regretting it in the first place when I'm seeing the price of bitcoin but I realized that there's no going back and nothing to regret since I used it properly and it was placed to a better place now. There's no more regret when I did sold it for a good purpose.

Well it really depends on the individual on what purpose he/she has towards the bitcoins they receive. To give you an example, last June 2017 I accumulated a total of 0.04 bitcoins (which are priced today around ~$690). But the problem is, last June the price of 0.04 bitcoin were around ~$100 and I spent it due to emergency reasons. Yes, I regretted using my bitcoins since if I waited a couple of months, I would have accumulated more dollars but at that time I was in a rough situation wherein I lack the necessary funds to continue my schooling.
Two perspectives, two reasons and two phases which are regrettable but at the same time considerable in my situation.

Of course I regret it because I have never thought that the price will hit as high as last week. I must have so much money now. But it is happened already, no need to regret it too much. There are still many chances to earn decent amount of money from bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

I don't regret using my BTC to buy items (after all BTC is meant to be used) , but it can be quite galling when I look at my purse account order history and it bugs out and says things like I bought a Sonos 1 player and it tells me I paid 3K for it as that's the current value of the bitcoins I spent to buy it.

I do regret selling the ones I sold to take profits along the way.

Exactly, what can you do? Not buy whatever you needed at the time just because of you thinking that bitcoin was going to rise? that's absurd and even if you were a savvy investor, you probably woudl have never predicted that bitcoin would hit $10k a few months back, let alone $17k.

These things are all quite circumstantial and i'd say 9/10 times a rally this size wouldn't have happened in the same scenario.

Anyways, we all have our regrets, but as long as you've profited i don't see much of a problem. At least you didn't make a loss, don't be a greedy shit and tihnk that you can time your exits well every single time, it's just not going to happen.

Don't do that lol , it will only hurt us for sure. Look at how much money you should have right now if you did not sell it all and so on.
Bitcoin always make us in deep regret , forget it and moving onto next one for the better future.
Do another investment and don't look back. Tell yourself that it is enough to feel regret , make a real action.

Let’s wait and see.

i do really regret selling my bitcoin earlier this year. I never have imagined that its market value will be as high as now. If i did not sell it before, i probably have been earning huge profit by now. And that is lesson learned. I am now holding a few amount and would probably be holding it for years because of what happened.

One of the biggest regret of my life was to sell some BTC last year at around $700, now it is even more than $17000. Aside from the success stories of old bitcoiners many of the users also have the same stories like mine. Well "its never too late" so instead of cursing yourself all the time we should move forward because bitcoin is still growing and this time more rapid than before.

Everyone regrets selling their bitcoin who sold either due to fear that bitcoin might crash or due to losing faith in bitcoin that it may never rise again. I think in this forum everyone has their view point and some would say that you should sell your bitcoin before it is too late and some will suggest that wait for the biggest hike in bitcoin. But overall one needs to remember that it’s his own bitcoin and you should think and analyze yourself rather than being a patient of panic selling be mature and analyze the market before selling or buying bitcoin.

Sincerely speaking I have made some sale of my bitcoin in the past and I don't have regrets whatsoever because at the time of selling, I had made up my mind to be prepared for whatever comes next whether its going to be an increase in price or reduction in price that has been my consolation. The only reminder is the way the valuation is done on blockchain that do comparative using the current bitcoin exchange as against what it was as at the time of the transaction which then keep reminding you how much you would have gotten now if you hadn't made the sale.

Yes, I am completely regret by selling the bitcoin. I sell my bitcoin three or four month before when the price of bitcoin was $8000 approx but after my selling the bitcoin in two or three days the price of bitcoin was increase slowly and after that it will increase countinously in every moment and now the time price of bitcoin is reached to $14000 . So by seeing the difference in the price of bitcoin I regrets my self very much .

I have regrets selling my first bitcoin at $1100 and another sell of $1560 but  when I started to read from blogs and articles about what bitcoin was actually made to be I stopped regretting! Bitcoin should be a medium for exchange of goods and services and not the way we are using it now like commodities and security were we would hold it and sell it when the value increase. Holding bitcoin is not bad but treating it like stocks and securities " will undermine it values as currency" I have to start advocating bitcoin as money in my country.

Surely many have been regretful in selling their bitcoins because if they have hold until now, they have surely made a fortune out of it. I have also sold my bitcoins before and I also felt regret after seeing the price and realizing that bitcoin will continue to rise. But instead of feeling sad about it, I just told myself that the money was used for good reasons because it was for my family so there should be no reason for sadness. I am student who likes to be responsible for my school expenses and also helped my family at the same time and I was able to do that with the help of bitcoin. As far as I want to hold, I know that I will need to sell from time to time because I can't just look away when I know that my family needs me especially when it comes to financial matters.

I know that there are members who are also like me, who shares their income with the family since from the start and I would like to say, do not regret about selling because it is for your family anyway. Continue earning bitcoin because there will come a day that you will be able to hold your bitcoin just like the other people.

I might not have started bitcoin but I know friend who has sold bitcoin and now he is regretting it.
But still it's not too late , you just have to hold your coins no matter how many you have since the price is increasing and will increase so hope that it will cross $20000 Mark buy the end of this month.
I don't think many people will have regret on selling bitcoins because most of them but would have sold their Bitcoin when the price was increasing from 5000$ to 15000$ .

No I don’t feel any regret to selling my bitcoin because bitcoin is helping me in selling and it’s a digital currency some time you will buy bitcoin and some time you will sell and both these options are going to help you and it’s also good for bitcoin because when someone is selling bitcoin so definitely he is an investors and he will take a profit when he will sell.

There are also times I think that I should had been a millionaire now in our country if only I hodl also BTC in my wallet before. But anyways regret won't help and only be reason to lose focus so I just moved on.

Everything I do is well thought out. Great benefit is that I only sell in very small quantities, like 5-10% per time. In some cases you end up selling too early, but that doesn't impact me at all since I will then have plenty enough coins left to benefit from a further increase. I don't limit myself by cashing out everything at once, where from that point I would completely depend on the market to go down. This is more often than not is the mistake that people keep making, and for that reason keep losing out on further growth of the market. It's a pretty straight forward and common way of lowering your risk exposure, but people don't seem to understand it as they keep on cashing out everything they have at once.

One of the best posts here. I agree with this 100%.

Only spend btc on things you absolutely need, or other hedge vehicles like PMs. Don't spend it on junk and other depreciating goods that you could just as easily spend your fiat money on. Buy back btc whenever you can. That way you have no regrets.

yes and no (heh)

by that i mean when i did sell, it was cool because when i did it was usually for a good enough reason, toys i really wanted, vacations, gifts. and years ago it was to promote actual use of btc.

but.

when i look at how many btc i had vs what i hodled.. well.. damn. spent many millions of usd worth of  btc at todays prices.

oh well, no regerts.
No at all and I think there is no need to feel regret when you want to sell bitcoin because it’s a very good time to sell it's price is high and still it’s going more high so it's apart of business you will buy bitcoin when its price is low and then for sure you will sell it when its price go high and if you don’t want to take profit right know then you can keep it save for future and can use it after some time so it’s a fact that one day you will sell bitcoins.

To be honest, as you can see, the current price of BTC is just unbelievable, have you ever owned some BTCs before? If so, are they still in your wallet? You may be deadly regretable if you already sold them out? I guess.

P.S.: I have an price analysis for today as below.

I'm pretty sure everyone of us here have our own regrets when it comes to selling off portions of our btc. We know for sure that btc will hit high and we only need to have patience to see the fruits of our labor but never did we imagine that it will all be so fast like this. Back then I've sold some of my coins thinking that I can buy back again anytime since the price is still reasonable and I can afford to buy in some more in place of what I've sold. But honestly, looking at the current price, I'm not sure if I can still acquire a decent amount of btc. So yeah, I have a little bit of regrets but not that I cannot get over with because I've made good profits even if I sold early and I'm still thankful for it because I can't even get that kind of amount if my money is just sleeping in my bank account, right?

No I don't have any regret but thankful instead because of those BTC I earned and managed to sell before are the reasons why me and my family is living comfortable life today if I didn't do regular selling of btc I earned before we might live a life full of financial problems for a year and might not even able to pay bills for my internet and not into bitcoins anymore.

I just regret knowing about it and never bought due to lack of full comprehension of the mechanism behind it, like many people I suppose. I remember when i bought my gaming rig in late 2009, I'm been interested abut mining bitcoins for a while but get bored by technical issues and very little reward so I just forgot the idea. It makes me wanna die every time I think about that.

The price of bitcoin now is very high that it seems very impossible now to afford buying. Well, this is what we all had wished to since the beginning, for bitcoin to have a very high price. For me, bitcoin really had a huge growth for this year and in a very short time, the price keeps rising and rising. I am excited and nervous at the same time of what can happen in 2018. Will there be dump or will the price continue to grow? Anyways, whatever happens I know for sure that many people will be investing in bitcoin next year.

I definitely regtet selling my bitcoin early without knowing that its price will be as this expensive within just a short period of time. I bet that many people here sold their Bitcoin when it reached 5000 uSD and I am also one with them. I thought it will dump after a few days so i took advantage of it but it was totally wrong since its price continuously increase from then.

I sold btc many times and they were really cheap ones. Now I really regret for my trades in the past. I should have held them in my wallet for my better future, but I couldn't do this. Be patient for the success.
Nothing is to fell regret about selling because its apart of business some time you will buy bitcoin and some time you will sell because bitcoin is a digital currency and there are a lot of sources to earn here so buying and selling is also a kind of earning you can earn from here through selling and buying if someone sell bitcoin so he is also going to earn from it and he is not going to stop there after some time he start buying again for next profit.
There will always be a part of you that regrets selling at low prices. Like you said yourself that's business and one of the most important rules in business is to limit your losses. Selling at low price is definetly loosing money but that's okay. We all fell in that trap. I never thought it would reach this price in a short period of time. The last time i sold was at 11k and that's my last time. I'm not selling anytime soon until i see how it goes and what price can bitcoin reach.

That's how we need to be as my case has been similar to your's even I sold my bitcoin at the p4ice of $2000 which I bought around $400 but I sold it as it was the only source of income for me at that point of time and the reason for investment is for a better future and for better future we should survive and selling bitcoin was my survival so I don't regret as I cannot go hungry to bed thinking If I sleep hungry for months I can earn more in return which will eventually be spent on health so I am proud I sold my bitcoin and the decision to invest into it as it acted as a saviour for me.

Yes bitcoin price now is so unbelievable. I did not expect this well I guess no one did. Yes I own a btc. But before the price of bitcoin goes so up high, I sell almost 3/4 of what I have. In that time bitcoin price is just 2000 USD. yes I get a big money by that time but it will much be bigger by now ; not double, not triple but more than. If ever I remember that yes I regret it so much. How I wish I can get back that amount of bitcoin I had. But life does not end up there, i will try to earn it back and unlike before I will hold it.

Not everyone sure would have had the patience and while some really had it, some just had to spend it based on their needs at that particular moment in time. I have spent some of my BTC but I save most of them. The only reason why I may not regret is because I utilized them to fund some other businesses offline but as still as I am much part of the crypto game by still having a lot left, I am sure not regretting anything. I am sacrificing a lot now to reap the benefits of all my investments in the long run.

Well part of me is regretting that i sold my bitcoin in the past but still if i didn't sell it that time i won't reach on where i am today. Bitcoin price is still increasing and i think it will reach a higher price till the end of 2017 but as the saying say ''live life with no regrets.''

On point! I agree because I too believe that experience is the best teacher. We can't blame ourselves for the decisions and moves we did before that may or may not have come out successful. During that time, that's what our gut feeling tells us, and even if it turned out wrong, to a prudent person, he may still get something good out of it by the lessons he have learned. Also, one can't live in fear of failure because it is always around. If you would regret all the moves you make, then you are not fit to be in this market, because the avenue for failure is always big given that the value of the coins may change at any moment.

Everyone must have experienced something similar. We all must admit that we first recognize bitcoin so we are not sure about it. In the beginning bitcoin can be regarded as a joke and also only has a low price value. But imagine what's happening right now, we've all seen a huge change. Bitcoin can be said as a new force in the field of economy in the world today. It's all like a dream because we can become rich after knowing bitcoin.

I don't regret anything because I haven't sold anything. ;D I don't even think I would regret a certain move, even if I did sell at the wrong moment, because every time I have sold in the past, I sold to secure profits.

Realistically, as long as you sell to secure profits there is no need to get upset or sad about your move. In this market selling will likely only result in disappointment since the price goes up non stop, which is why I don't even bother selling.

My coins are safely stored offline and will stay there for much longer, because in current times hodlers are the big gainers here. Selling should only be an option in case of emergency, if not, then just keep hodling firmly.

don't regret anything,ever
whatever you are doing you are doing it to the best of your knowledge at that time
you can't change things, but can learn from mistakes
for that you do not have to regret what you have done but try to analyze why and what
so you do not repeat your mistakes
with bitcoins it is same-you sold your coins and they gained value, happens, next time HODL
on the other hand, imagine how many good decisions you make but do not pay attention to,daily?

In investing or in life in general, with should also have room to learn from our mistakes and be open to accept our failures. It's our failures which make us stronger and better. Investing and trading is very risky, not only with bitcoin or cryptocurrency. We shouldn't let this hinder us or make us scared from trying again. No expert out there never made a mistake before becoming an expert.

I have some regrets myself for selling poorly some of my btc in the past but I've learned to accept it so that in the future, I won't do the same and this will make me have better decisions.

Honestly, everyone who sold their budget  from bitcoin, he will regret it in the future. So this is a bad time to selling for some cryptocurrencies (especially bitcoin), and the price develops at a fast and huge way during this period of time.
In fact, it's time to collecting big budget of bitcoin and everyone can do it in many ways.
For me the best steps are:
1: Collecting a big value of bitcoin (You can achieve this through many jobs. such as: signature campaign, trading, mining...).
2: Holding.
3: Investing all the money.

Theres an easy solution to regret and thats to realise you wont live forever so make the most of each day and maybe more practical is to only sell your BTC to invest into other things.    Dont spend it on junk because then you will regret as much the purchase was not worth it,  this is a shock to the system for most as modern society has become about spend spend spend and with BTC you should consider do I really need to because I might lose out.

The BTC I spent went onto things like a monitor, I was using a chunky old CRT screen for years and because everyone else is on a nice screen I was finding webpages were increasingly hard to read.  You dont realise it but they accommodate the average user setup in their web design and that is not an old CRT.

So I used to be a BTC miner, not tons but enough to buy a nicer widescreen LCD display which is so much finer then the old one and it let me carry on using the internet.  So it was a reasonable investment, in todays money that monitor was about $5,000 maybe.   Thats too bad but I cant regret having to use my funds sometimes and it was fairly essential.

Last year I sold 0.3 btc for a few hundred dollars.   Again to buy computer parts, kinda essential.    The main way I've sold BTC this year ( I held most till the summer) was to buy in some gold, this is a very reasonable hedge and parallel to crypto in not being part of the FIAT or QE system we are all stuck in.

Thats my main recommendation to people who find they sell BTC or feel they have to.   Hold a bit of gold as well because this has been used as a hedge for centuries and it will continue now, major exporting countries are currently buying in larger quantities then they have for decades previously.   I take that as a new paradigm as much as cryptocurrency has been, however right now its not as popular Im sure.

There is no need to fell regret in selling bitcoin and I never feel regret when I’m selling bitcoin because when I sell bitcoin so I get profit from it because I’m investor here so I always buy bitcoin when its price is low and then I sell bitcoin when its price go high so it’s a rules of business some time you will sell and some time you will buy bitcoin and I’m sure every will do same as I’m doing so selling bitcoin is a very good source of income.

An early adopter probably does not care since he probably has thousands of coins, and he got them for a relatively cheap price, however regular people like us with small holdings need to hold for as long as possible so we capture most of the bull market when we cash out, it is not easy since it is very tempting to sell at the current prices but I'm not going to sell until bitcoin reaches 100k.

Partly. It's very difficult to do something right when money is involved. If you secure profits, which is a good thing, you likely get disappointed when the price keeps going up. If you choose to not sell at all, and the price is going down, you will again be disappointed, so whatever you do, it's almost impossible to not at least for a tiny bit regret your action. In order to find a balance, you should only sell smaller batches per time, which will allow you to even after a higher increase still benefit. I cashed out a small batch of my profits around $16k, where we now hover around $18.5k, which for me is still great considering that I have enough coins in my 'pocket'. :)

True,  looking at the current bitcoin price it is really tempting to see that it is that high.  But just like what you said, I need to continue holding since I haven't been that long in earning bitcoin. I am just selling the amount that I needed to be able to support my needs and school.  This way,  I will still be able to save money and have the opportunity to gain profit while earning.

I've felt sorry, but I do not regret it now. I used to have a job paying me with Bitcoin, at that time I was very happy and able to collect Bitcoin with a very large number. But I did not dare to invest because I was afraid that Bitcoin would fall or crash. I'm afraid that Bitcoin's price will go down and I will not want to invest. But now I'm sure because I've known Bitcoin for years. Since the price touched $ 4000 I have no doubt and more spirit to search and collect Bitcoin as much as possible. Regretting is useless, we can only learn from experience.

There are two things I regret the most...

1) Not buying/mining BTC the first time I heard about it. (I'm a tech guy and usually I'm informed about this stuff. And I also try all the "schemes" I found out to earn some)

2) Should invest much more when I started in cryptocurrency. I start with a few bucks and could invest much more at the start. (Some friends of mine did it and the multipliers.... OMG)

4 years ago, I am unemployed so I sold most of bitcoin for the period $ 200-500 per bitcoin (about 2 bitcoins per week) for personal spending, pay rent house fees. I don't regret because I need to live at that time. I just dream that If I got a work at that times, I became rich with over 1 million dollars  ;D
Most times we just have to accept things the way they come. Sure, if you had a job, things would have been different, and who knows, it may not have been.

Remember that human needs are insatiable and even with your salary, you could have wanted to live well, or at least have some other things to spend on which you could not since you were limited, but I feel your pains bro, and no matter what, it is the future that counts anyway and nothing is unchangeable as long as you try your best towards achieving them.

yes and no (heh)

by that i mean when i did sell, it was cool because when i did it was usually for a good enough reason, toys i really wanted, vacations, gifts. and years ago it was to promote actual use of btc.

but.

when i look at how many btc i had vs what i hodled.. well.. damn. spent many millions of usd worth of  btc at todays prices.

oh well, no regerts.
Totally depend on what you spend them on anyway. There are just sometimes that you have to just spend them on something you need, and in that case, there is no point regretting such decision when it was totally beyond your control.

Although, I have seen a lot of people who have spent their BTC on wants rather than necessities and those are where things can go sour for them, but why regret really when you cannot change things and the best bet is to make some amends.

For an average bitcoiner, it's really normal if we see lots of them do sells because of various reasons, like you said based on our decision. There are times that people needs money, needs profit, scared of price decrease that's why they are ignoring the principle of long term holding. It's not wrong after all because that is their coins after all and only they are the one who can do whatever they want to their precious coins.

I sometimes dump too but not that much since I have a spare. Selling is part of the cycle so just enjoy the game as long as everyone knows what they do.

I have experienced earning bitcoin through investing and have already sold some of them. I don't regret selling them at that time since I have calculated and make sure that I will still have profit. Trying to earn cryptos is really challenging and I was hoping that by joining and reading on this forum I will be able to understand more things about earning.

Well, looking at the fact that some people could have spent it on junks, that could have been worthy of some regrets.

No shame in felling regrets, I have as well and I do hope I did not make some decisions I made in the past. Those regrets have at least driven me to want to do more now as long as there is still breath in me to change the situation of things later on in the future.

Nevertheless, sometimes, we do always wish we can change back the hands of time, but since we cannot, we just have to move forward and re-fix the future to our best.
Buying and selling is a part of business some time you will buy and some time you will sell because bitcoin is a very good currency to buy and sell and if you want to sell bitcoin so it also give you a profit because bitcoin is always trying to give us profit so no need to worry about selling because it’s good to sell bitcoin and when you get your profit then you can buy bitcoin again because bitcoin change its price fast from low to high.

Well part of me is regretting that i sold my bitcoin in the past but still if i didn't sell it that time i won't reach on where i am today. Bitcoin price is still increasing and i think it will reach a higher price till the end of 2017 but as the saying say ''live life with no regrets.''
Living without regrets is almost impossible everyone has something they regret as long as you used your money in something you needed and you are comfortable with what you did that is fine, but there are many people that gamble their bitcoins away and must be regretting doing something like that.

actually, I am regret selling my bitcoin but I don't have any choice because I still want to continue my life. but for now, I learn to save my bitcoin so I don't have to feel regret for what I do in the future. I think we can still buy and selling our bitcoin to make a profit and we could still save the bitcoin to prepare our life in the future. and I think if we have some urgent things, we have our bitcoin that could be sold in anytime without thinking about the price, right?

It seems to me that I do not need to despair too much about the fact that Bitcoin has missed its price. Over the past year Bitcoin has always had great instability, Therefore, after this fall, there will be good growth. You need to take advantage of these minimum price points.

Before I'm regretting that I sold my bitcoins but I'm already good with it since I can those things that I purchased with my bitcoins, there's no more regret with it. When someone gets out they feel it was the right thing to do. They will "market" their idea... why you will ask ..

Well the answer is simple... they don't want you to stay in the game because you might make more money then they did.
Also they will be butt-hurt if it goes to 100k....

Follow your gut feeling .... Bitcoin isn't over yet

I never fell regret when ever I sell my bitcoin because I always sell by bitcoin when its price become high because I’m doing investment here and I buy bitcoin when its price is low and then I sell it out when its price go high so t give me profit and when I take my profit the I also use my bitcoins because you can use bitcoin for your daily expanse and then when its price go low again I buy bitcoin so buying and selling is a part of business.

Yes I really regret it, not only my BTC but my Litecoins which was trading in 70 usd some years ago is now around 300 usd range. I want to hold all my shit coins from today and belive,5 years time, I will retire.
Shitcoins are not going to make you rich, in fact they are going to make you poorer as their value reaches zero, what you need to do is to find promising projects that are in their first stages, invest a good amount of money and then hold for a few years if you do that you will be able to improve your life in a significant way and if you are lucky you could become rich.

I never regret on selling my bitcoins as whatever bitcoins I gave that are earned and not invested so whenever I m satisfied with the price I sell my bitcoins as I know that I can earn it back.
I also do not feel sorry for selling not selling origin I also see the price developments and if I think the price is suitable or profitable I will sell it although it is likely to rise again the price, because I need a fee for daily needs and that's the reason I'm in bitcoin . so I will not hold back a long time if the price is right I will sell it and I do not feel sorry.

Well its understandable why people dont trust bitcoin st first cause its not well credited and safe or can be said legit because it is decentralized. Although if you use it and experience using it you might be overwhelmed of the growing value over a short time in a modern world.
yes , I regret so much by selling my bitcoin because I sell my bitcoin four months before when the price of bitcoin was approx $7000 but after four the months the price of bitcoin is $14000 and it's nearly the double price when I sell my bitcoin and this price is countinously increasing day by day so I regret my self so much because I lost so much of money by seeing my bitcoin so early.

Those who sold earlier are having regret of not selling it at that time.

Yes I regret selling my bitcoins as I am that kind of person who spends all the bitcoins they have in their wallet at the weekend holiday, if they have any. I always think of investing my bitcoins somewhere but at the end of the month I am left with nothing to invest, but I am looking for a solution to this problem.
I sold a great chunk of my bitcoins at about $6k per bitcoin and now that is the time of my life that I regret the most.

if you sold your coins at a profit there is nothing to worry,i do not understand why people are crying out loud for their actions as if someone forced you to sell. I have gambled a lot of coins and sold some coins at much lower prices and that is the way it is and you have to deal with it as long as you sold your coins at a profit and i do not regret any of my actions.

Well, who wouldn't regret selling their bitcoin? I know I personally am pissed a little, though I think there is a broader picture to it than just selling/ buying and hodling bitcoins.

For most of us when we sold bitcoin, it was needed to be converted into Fiat at the time of sale for every-day spending. At least this is how it happened with me, but can differ from person to person.

Bottom-line, there is nothing you can do to change your actions in the past. Continue with your life and move on. If you still feel like BTC will go up in the future, then why not buy?

Obviously, who doesn't regret selling their bitcoin?

But the thing is nobody would have told you with confidence and bet you all their life savings that bitcoin was going to be this high at this current time. So it could have went both ways and it turned out that the holders have been correct.

The rally could ahve ended on $2k if the august 1st events messed up, but it didn't. These were all unpredictable.

Plus, if you had to sell bitcoins for your personal use or an emergency, there was really nothing to avoid it.
Yeah it was impossible to predict that things will go this way, it was not long ago that bitcoin was still cheap, some people have expected the price to go down for  long time and yet we are at 15k, that price would have seemed impossible just a year ago, if you had asked me how long it would take to reach that price at the beginning of the year I would have said at least 5 to 10 years and yet we reached that price in only a year.

Yes I did. Just last week or two I sold my Bitcoins because it was really going low for that time compared to the past several months. It was christmas season and I was afraid that it was the time where it continues to go down and so, I am guilty with doing panic selling. I sold my Bitcoins and the day after doing so, it was going back again. With that I greatly regret my decision but will still find time to trade again and buy Bitcoins when I feel that the opportunity again. Besides I already gained money from that selling.

I invest a lot in bitcoin in the hope of changing life to be more comfortable. I do not regret selling bitcoin with a low amount. I just feel the price is right I will sell. Because I do not like risking if the bitcoin suddenly falls I'll lose a lot of money that's how I invest.
Regret is for those who don’t have sense to take right decisions but I am in crypto for two years and I have a lot of experience to deal with the lower prices and I always sold my coin when it seems good for me otherwise holding is my old habit and presently I am still holding my coins prices are low and I know selling at this time will give me a bit low profit that’s why I am waiting for pump to happen and fascinate me well.

Well there is nothing wrong with selling if you get profits, but the biggest issue is that some people just cashed out with no reason at all, and that is a mistake, when I finally sell my bitcoin is going to be because I'm ready to grab my profits and never look back, I have a plan I know what I'm going to do with the money that I get out of bitcoin and I know what I'm going to do after, so I will have no regrets.
