yes and no (heh)

by that i mean when i did sell, it was cool because when i did it was usually for a good enough reason, toys i really wanted, vacations, gifts. and years ago it was to promote actual use of btc.

but.

when i look at how many btc i had vs what i hodled.. well.. damn. spent many millions of usd worth of  btc at todays prices.

oh well, no regerts.

I havent tried selling my btc yet, in fact i wanted to more that’s why i keep on adding it not selling it, that’s why never felt any regret yet, my goal is to have manu bitcoins as much as i can and sell on the right period or on my very target highness...so for now my choice is always buying and holding and no selling to avoid regrets

Obviously, who doesn't regret selling their bitcoin?

But the thing is nobody would have told you with confidence and bet you all their life savings that bitcoin was going to be this high at this current time. So it could have went both ways and it turned out that the holders have been correct.

The rally could ahve ended on $2k if the august 1st events messed up, but it didn't. These were all unpredictable.

Plus, if you had to sell bitcoins for your personal use or an emergency, there was really nothing to avoid it.
I do not. I have sold some BTCs in the past and I sure will still be selling some now and in the future. I am not going to be stupid enough anyway to sell everything but when cash is needed to do somethings and your job totally revolves around the crypto and trading world, you will definitely not want to leave all your earnings in bitcoin. So, I am still cool with myself, knowing I am still gaining a lot from the one I have been saving. Moreover, what is the point of regretting one's decisions in life when we can absolutely not change what has happened. The only best way is to make some amends and get going!

I hugely regret selling some of my BTC in 2016. This 2017 was insane. So much demand and hike in price. I regret my move more because I didn't need my btc at that time and just because of risk of price falling, I took that decision. I still hold many BTC. But that was a regretful move. Now I am holding my BTC for longer until I need money.

I am looking at one of my $17k graphics cards(bought for about 1BTC each back in 2014)right now...and yah..there is some regret I didnt hodl longer. Even worse..I can see the front fender of my truck sitting out in the driveway...bought that for 30BTC...not quiet a 150mio pizza...but it does sting. On the positive side..I tell all my friends that I drive a half a million dollar ride.

@ op, yes.
Basically....
I'm bad at saving money. But if I was halfway decent at saving money, it'd take me about 1,190 years to save up to what I've potentially had in BTC if I held up to this date.

Even if I had a better job and saved more, it'd still be like 250+ years worth of savings.

so yeah...  Cry

It's not that bad of a feeling though.
I'm sure a portion of those people from Satoshi dice who would gamble 250+ BTC nonstop feel pretty bad now. But they were probably already multi millionaires, so meh.

That's basically how I look at it too.

$25,000 back massager,
$425,000 worth of books,
200 incense sticks for $2,550
$55,000 high velocity floor fan,...
etc... etc

absolutely disgusting

 Cheesy

I've found old forgotten login details from over the years and have found small BTC's worth on em. Pretty sure I've recovered most everything at this point.
---- however I do have ~5 old dead laptops I think I should rip apart and SATA->USB them and see if there's any BTC to be had there. But, At most, there may be a few thousand $ on them, nothing life changing.

basically, I regret selling my bitcoin too early because the price was in a lower price. but I have some urgent thing that I really need money to that things. I think we don't have to regret this because we still have another time to collect more bitcoin and the price will still increase later. it is better that we prepare our future from now on than we regret what we've done in the past.

if all of people can predict the price of bitcoin will be so high such as now then i'm pretty sure most of them already being millionaire but nobody thought bitcoin even will surpassing $10k however regarding OP questions that honestly yes i was regretted my decission why i have not much patience to holding my bitcoin since last year because i wasn't expect bitcoin price will so high but now i believe that bitcoin price still rise up and possibly at 2018 we will see new all time high

I have sold most of my bitcoin under $1k last year and now regretting, I don't want to buy back bitcoin right now because it is already at peak price and just waiting for some correction.

I can still remember one of my friend to whom I have sold 1 bitcoin at around $700 1 year back, now he is sitting at $15000+ worth of bitcoin because he have never sold those bitcoin  Angry

That's a wrong decisions that we ever made mate, I myself also regret those btc's I've sold for the past year. Those amounts reached at around 0.1 btc in total but all of them also sold at low price. If I hold that until for eight months maybe I am also wealthy same as your friend. So its recommended to hold bitcoins rather than selling it early.

I feel the same I regret when I sold my hodling of btc before when the price is not as high today. I though price of btc will not increase or it will fall down. This is why I regret those hope of profit I earned if I juts continue to hold until these days. Anyway, I have to move forward and will start a new in btc.

To be honest, as you can see, the current price of BTC is just unbelievable, have you ever owned some BTCs before? If so, are they still in your wallet? You may be deadly regretable if you already sold them out? I guess.

P.S.: I have an price analysis for today as below.

BTC:
BTC price skyrockets though day traders dump their BTCs out of panic, nevertheless, those new traders rushing into the market are still taking those BTCs over at high levels. Here is my advice: For BTC believers, you can just hold on to your BTCs however the price changes. For day traders, pay special attention to the short-term risks. Once price breaks below MA 5, profit booking should be considered. Nothing will just keep increasing in price without dips, we’ll have another chance to buy BTC in sooner or later.

BCH:
BCH got supported just above the line as I circled yesterday. Today, we saw a violent rally of BCH price which seemed fearless when facing BTC’s astonishing gains, indicating that main funds are determined to protect BCH from dropping. Competitive coins against BTC will have another round of bullish trend when BTC price starts a correction.

LTC:
LTC got a short-term and effective support at current price. A good rally of LTC price is expected when BTC price starts a correction. Also, it’s likely for LTC to continues setting a new all-time high, holding on to your positions is the best strategy for now.

ETC:
ETC price action seems relatively weak. Though forks are coming to ETC like what happened to BTC, the overall environment is changed now. Therefore, ETC is still likely to be oscillating and downward in terms of short-term price trend.

Altcoins:
Those altcoins with support from main funds can be our targets. The astonishing surges in BTC price almost lower all altcoins’ prices, including those with positions set by main funds. Altcoins mentioned above are expected to experience a good rally in price and regain their grounds taken by BTCs. Let’s wait and see.

Original by Kuang Ren, translated and posted by AICoin Jami.

I truly regret selling my Bitcoins days before the surge. The price increase were not expected at all so there's nothing I can do now. And now, I don't have any BTC at hand. I have some altcoin but I am deciding to hold unto them and wait for the price to increase.

Very nice explanation you got there with respect to some specific coins. Beneficial for traders out there. However, I think you missed ETH?

Everyone is experiencing the same thing. We all do not think that Bitcoin can achieve this level, This is a miracle in my opinion because the price increase is very unusual. In fact, I've seen this as a new economic power, the volume and market share owned by Bitcoin has outgrown other important assets in the world today.

I am disappointed with what I did some time ago, I am not patient and sell Bitcoin at a low price, usually I am affected by the action of panic sell. That's what I think is a difficult thing to avoid. But I believe that I can get much better things, most importantly I have the passion and hard work to be able to improve my life much better.

I guess we all feel regrets because nobody can really tell what will be the tomorrow's  of our coins that we're holding.
And all we can do is to trust and believe with it. Personally, I sold mine because I needed fiat badly and selling it is my last resort.
But after that I hold it as long as I can and now I'm almost sitting with almost 100% profit.

maybe a little bit regrets, but it is ok to me to sell that bitcoin before, because we all people learned from mistakes and we all dont know what will truly happen in future. so that mistakes leads me to not give up and to have not more bitcoin, but enough to afford what i have to loose incase this bitcoin price drop down in future. and i will hodl this bitcoin i have until i reached my price goals.

Sometimes when btc reached my expected amount i go convert but after converting, a sudden rise of btc makes me regret selling mine, having the thought that i should have waited for a bit longer.

I try not to look backwards. It's swings and roundabouts - it's hard to predict the price. As long as you sold for more than you purchased your coins for, you are in profit and thus ahead of most of mankind.
