I have a good amount in BTC right now and plan to hold that for a few months. I also have quite a lot in ETH and plan to hold that. I want to invest in XRP ( roughly 5 000 USD ) but it has not been moving much..what are your thoughts..any hard evidence for a good future?

I see little to suggest ripple will make any big price movements, the price seems to fluctuate within about a 30-50% band, from $0.2 to $0.3. If you're interesting in buying it to sell off at high points and rebuy then go for it, if you're looking to hold it for the long term then I don't see any strong evidence to suggest you should

There are many that are interesting, you can look to some of the main currencies such as litecoin or one that's been performing well lately is IOTA and has a lot of hype. A coin I like is Enjin, the games market is huge and with a market cap of only $30m it has great potential to grow.

You're welcome, either way best of luck with your investments. I don't know how much BTC and ETH you hold but one thing I would say is be sure to have some diversity as it really helps to reduce the risk across your portfolio!

My biggest problem with Ripple is that the company owns so much of it and could easily kill the whole project. Not that they would, but it is possible. And with my risk management I am not willing to take that risk, and I would suggest you dont.

lol hope you got some when you posted this... I sold mine on the 13th, way to early! Doubled profits, but could have tripled so far.

Your risk management should be more thorough, then you'd know what happened with remaining coins a bit earlier this month :D

Lol, not anymore. I mean it probably still is a good price but its pretty high. Its been at .20 for forever and this jump is too expensive. I believe it will correct to like .50. Then take some time and go back up to .80-$1. More people will buy since its such at a low price than all the other top 5 coins.

I think yes, because I think it will continue to rise, all other coins has risen a lot but ripple is not among of them. Now buy the news not sell the news.

This will be a period for Alts to grow for at least a month while bitcoin sleeps. The cycle continues. Leave it in ripple for a while and you will not regret it.

i agree with you though. Ripple seems to be a good investment in the short-run.But i wouldnt hold for more than 2weeks if you ask me.

Ask yourself that question what is the benefit with keeping ripple. Ripple company collect good fund with ripple coin for their job but they didn't say anything about profit sharing. İt is just a copy paste coin  like many others.

XRP did a decent jump in spring this year (like most of the other coins). After that we had zounds of good news around XRP, but lots of FUD together with the unsettled market (because of the BTC forks, China acts, etc etc), kept the price of XRP too deep and deeply undervalued.
But the agitation - because of BTC - calms down now. The dust settles finally. BTC got ennobled, took its rise, touches its top, and now... ?
Now the things are happening all together, everything in a single moment, which had been expected to happen months and weeks ago. Everyone, who has invested in XRP for at least some months, woke up at least one morning per week, asking himself: Why does this f*ing coin NOT move???
Now it does.
And it will catch up everything, what is missed since early summer.
And this is a lot...

Its way to pumped atm but there will still be few swing trades on it,also it was a great coin for me to earn on price difference beetween exchanges because of it fast transaction time

Ripple is a very good way to go right now. We see the price going up these days and that will go on. Korean banks are planning to use Ripple, that will push up the price even higher. Next year altcoins will have a bigger share in the cryptocurrency space. But at the moment Ripple is the 3rd best after Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Actually I also monitored Ripple for quite some time and finally decided to jump in. I first wanted to wait until it dipped another time under $.20, but luckily I wasnt patient and did buy at $.23. One of the best decisions for me this year!

Ripple has gotten a very big pump today, at one moment the value was at 0.89$, now it is dropping a little bit.
The pump is apparently due to interest from South Korean investors.

Well, honestly I couldn't understand the ripple pump's reason. I expected it to suffer from the constant low prices but it made almost 2x in terms of its dollar value. This is a good achievement for ripple. The next one could be $1 closely.

ripple is more decentralized than every other token, and is a safer bet than bitcoin or ethereum for example. the 3 largest btc mining pools control 51% of the hash, and the ETH dev's premined an additional 17% of the 72m at launch. there's also no supply hard cap... this could never happen per ripple's protocol. you should learn more before spreading lies / FUD.

As an investor, I would buy and forget as my time-frame is a couple of years. As a trader, I'd buy at the start of another up-move rather than catch the price as it falls.

Really? I didnt read that yet. If its true thats huge news. This definitely explains the pump if true. Makes me even more confident in my investment in Ripple.

Hold the XRP and a waste of time, it is a currency that is very stable and little changes significantly in value, of course if you want to leave your money standing for about 6 months or more it is sure to give you some feedback. She is good at doing daily trades, since she goes back and a half back (from a check in the chart) at an interesting price and soon after she returns to her normal, doing so her gains will be much bigger than letting her simply stop at hold .

I myself could only wish i have extra money to invest on this alternate coins. Ripple is climbing on the charts just a little shy above from Bitcoin's market value which is a good indicator that Ripple will go on a price hike in a matter of time now.

Ripple is good choice anyway if you can set limit order for buying and selling to gain profit.

Wow the pump is strong with this one. Can't believe something so mainstream and popular actually gained more than 200% already. This is the kind of pump that scares me. I got out at 15k  sats per XRP and i'm happy with my profits. Curious as to what people will say next about Ripple when this massive bubble pops.

That is really crazy damn thing that cap of Ripple is much more than Ethereum cap (93kkk vs 70kkk). Ripple is pumped now by good news from Japan and Korea.
But i think that it is overbought now.

Ripple was sustaining it's growth when most of the altcoins was down for last 2 weeks. However, the price of ripple have moved drastically and this is not the best time to buy I guess. Wait for a while and buy if the price comes down below $2.

i swear, the majority of people surprised by the recent xrp activity is baffling... do people not think logically? look at ripple's/xrp use case and what they're achieving. they're acting in compliance with financial regulations, and as a company are completely transparent. adoption by new comers is what will elevate crypto, and guess what, new comers and those on the sidelines still associate btc with crime and fraud. so again, why are you surprised by xrp's rise? people, media, and banks have finally caught on - who/what do you think they'll trust more? don't be a hater because you missed the boat, or live in an idealistic/impractical world of no banks or government.

I believe yes, while XRP are still in top 10 in the market it make sense to hold it for now specially now because XRP are in top two, well of course you will still need to check or update the market for the price.

If you have money i think it's fine to invest with xrp even with its $1.94 price right now.  It is still  okay to invest now because of its sustained growth.

Coin Ripple is a strong project from the bankers. this coin has big ambitions. 01.01.18 capitalization is 86 $760 188 799, this is the second coin by market capitalization. And I think a good indicator for long-term investment

Yes. It is still a good idea to invest here. But there are still a lot of coins that are way better than Ripple. If you have that amount of money find something that has a smaller value that has a good future and will become profitable.

Anyone who got in at ripple yesterday at 70 cents is someone I am very very envious off. I was thinking to get some since I missed the damned wagon last time around but only took a small amount at $1. Was right to think it would go even lower but was not able to be quick enough to get in on the action. XRP is still a good way to go right now for sure, I do not see myself as a holder at all, but good value right now for a token the company will surely want to keep above a dollar, if not to push for two at some point.

No, it's not a god idea to go with ripple now. There are more solid projects and their tokens out there. Ripple is centralized and the supply is totally under control of the speculator owners. Don't invest in it.

I hope you did not buying then when ripple was at the over bought area? The right time to invest in ripple is now because it's price is very cheap now and you can get many quantity through that. If you have been a seasonal trader you will agree with me that the right time to buy any assets is when the price is cheap and the right time to sell them is when the price is very high. However many new investors are doing the opposite and the same people are saying FUD all over the internet. Every coin is in dip,so any coin can get you profits however I would like to share a few thoughts about ripple.i feel it is somewhat of a ploy by big business to control crypto currency.they have the ripple,you have the bitcoin,they want the bitcoin in order to make money and control the market.but they don’t want to pay market value for bitcoin,so how perfect is that.you trade your bitcoin to them for xrp and eventually xrp stabilizes at a low value and boom.they now have all the bitcoin and you have ripple which is not worth much.sure you can buy stuff with it eventually,but who wins.just have a thought about what’s happening to crypto and the world financial situation

Honestly, this huge drop in the market is very essential to buy different currencies. On the other hand, for me, this is the best chance to buy Ripple because their price in complete weakness ( $ 0.90 ) and it is necessary to buy a big amount of this currency because after this crisis , there will be a big jump in their value. As well, it is very expected that Ripple will progress in a fast way in next 1-2 years and may the price will be more huger ( between $ 100 and  $ 300) .

Now is good way to buy ripple after massive dump last week it will probably going up starting today to june and we probably will see another all time high. Who ever buyin on its peak at december just hold it. You are not losing money if you dont sell it. Dont panic...crypto market is always like this and it will goes up again.

Ripple now is one of the good investment, as I read some news articles that big banks are supporting this coin.

I tend to agree, strictly from a returns perspective, I believe XRP will easily 2-3x from here at some point this year.  Constantly announcing new partnerships with banks and financial institutions around the world.
