I went camping for a few days... and BAM! $11k -> $17k!!!!!!

This is crazy! ;D Are you guys surprised?

Nope, in fact it is growing at a faster rate surpassing all expectations. There were a lot of speculation about Bitcoin reaching the five figure milestone in 2018, but we're already here with an additional $6k as of now and its not even 2018 yet. This clearly tells only one thing, the father of cryptocurrencies i.e Bitcoin is even beating the so called speculators in racing towards a big figure consistently.

BTC is basically flat...and I expect(ed) it to stay that way and trend lower in price because of the fee debacle.

LTC I started watching a couple of days ago when it was at $135...and the next day it went to $300.  Grrr...didn't even have a chance to wire the fiat to the exchange.  I expected a big jump but not that fast...

Yes, so much than I expected. Bitcoin is literally doing strange things this year, and I won't want to get FOMO'd.

I'm not surprised that this can happen more than we think, and even later in 2018 bitcoin prices can soar higher than we thought and that's where investors wait a lot.

Yes, i am really surprised! wasn't expecting bitcoin to go over $10k in 2017, but it did, price atm is $16.5. can we go over $20k by the end of this year? would be awesome to see price going $20k+.  :D

Yes, though the price has surely shocked everyone around especially if almost all of it are non believes rs of crypotcurrence from the start. It is very important that we still watch out for the trends and continue in thriving in bitcoin.

Not really! Crypto growth has suppressed my expectation and growing at an exponential rate since last few months. I never thought that bitcoin would grow to 17K USD level that fast. I expected it would grow to probably $9k to $10k by the end of 2017, but look what it has reached now. I believe the growth has been fueled by the adoption by big corporate companies across the world. Also the government of Japan provided a proper framework for the crypto user and started giving out licenses to the crypto exchanges. This has played a major role behind the growth of crypto prices. Now the expectation has been increased to an insane level and people are expecting as high as 25k USD by the first quarter of 2018. It's too good to be true. If this happens, I would be able to pay off all my debts.

If I'm being honest, I really am not "surprised" as much as I am excited, relieved and feeling determined as ever knowing that we are on path to what has been envisioned since the beginning of bitcoin. I do hope that traders lighten their load on the blockchain, or something could happen within development I suppose, so that Satoshi's original idea of Casual transactions can again take place. We are sort of in a run-away phase right now where people are hyperactive and overly excited. It's best to just hold out hats for now and not count any chickens before they hatch!

I expected bitcoin to explode, then explode again, and again until it's finally got the market-cap, transactions and value that it has the potential to reach. I have no "expected" rate for bitcoin, because it's a volatile creature, all I know is that it comes in spikes and waves. It has the best upward trend I've ever seen, but it's significant movement normally happens within moments and it is certainly powerful. I just stand out of the way and let it do it's thing, i don't want to put any chains on bitcoin by expecting it to do anything; I'm just happy we let it out of it's cage to see what it is capable of.

BTC is growing beyond my expectation,its quite a surprise,doubt the former speculation of $7000,now beyond.

Cryptos on a whole are growing at a expedintial rate to see where we are now is quite mind blowing when you think a couple of years back. Now we see bitcoin growing by almost double a month.

I like being dreaming and hard to imagine but it is real.
If I hold BTC I may already be a millionaire. unfortunately I've sold some of my coins.

No. Because bitcoin is volatile. It is expected to pump and dump specially in this kind of market. But from expected rate, no one knows because bitcoin is just starting yet to be develope.

All crypto world is growing at a faster  and faster rate every month that passes, surpassing all expectations.. I think 2018 will be the year of consacration of BITCOIN, Ethereum and other crypto.... they will finally become mainstream!

the prediction was that the btc can go upto $10k  at the end of the year 2017.but the few months ago nobody expecting that btc will reach the target. but now the btc  is in over $19k . that's just unbelievable. now i can expect btc could go upto 22 to 25K at the end of the year 2017.

To he honest crypto has already spread much faster then I thought it would. Already there seminars her for people to learn about bitcoin and gain financial freedom that is mostly because things are going badly and the job market sucks so there is little money and people need to find ways to make a living and that is where Bitcoin comes in. We can already buy food at one supermarket here with bitcoin so it's really surprised me by how it's caught on.

Isn't it amazing? i can not even believe how fast it is growing.

The problem is that all the altcoins are going up too, not just bitcoin, almost all the other altcoins have increased by more than 50% today, just take a look over the prices, it is amazing.


Even all those altcoins who had less than 10m on their total marketcap have increased today too.

Definitely, it is possible to happened that can reach up to 22k by the end of this year since it range is playing to 19k to 20k. Bitcoin is really unpredictable which most expert didn't expect that could reached that value. Also, some of them trying to define that bitcoin is just like a bubble that can burst anytime, well if I say that kind of bubble has a huge space that will last for 50 years so probably that value is very high enough to have that kind of value. Hopefully bitcoin will last for long so that many people can benefit by having a profit.

I really do not think if the price really can be + $ 16000. Last month, I thought the price would drop after reaching $ 10,000, so I sold some of the btc I had.
yes, many argue bitcoin is a bubble phenomenon, and now the bubble is getting bigger, nobody knows whether it will continue to grow or will it explode soon? just like you, I also hope to get a profit longer.

Eventually very surprising the price value of bitcoin more than the price expectation of everyone of us, my expectation price 15$k bitcoin price for end of the year but today almost rearch 20k usd.

this is more than my expected rate, i wasn't ready, i wasn't holding bitcoins.. next year i'll just save bitcoins and avoid to hold alts coin

Technically I am not suprised, why for price (supposedly) of bitcoin had been distributed to altcoins, but this is not a bad thing either for more competition is a better one. It is hard if it is monopolize by one coin. We have more choices to choose from. We can see that bitcoins price is surging and that maybe because enthusiasts are getting enough of other altcoins or ICOs that are becoming shitcoins in the end. Hopefully price will get to the moon so most of us here will be happy.

Yes the price of bitcoin become unexpected because there are many people who encourage to invest in bitcoin and they are continuously to come and support the community that's why it cause the price to become high and become profitable for everyone.

No, the massive adoption of the crypto currency right now affects its price. Which is very risky since it is really volatile. The massive adoption can also leads to massive change in the industry. If there were also massive number of users who stop using it can also boils down the price all of a sudden

To be honest i did not expect this growth and yes I am very surprised of the price rise. There is so much people now that investing in Bitcoin that the price is really inflated. Back then my prediction for the year end was $8k to $10k and this was when Bitcoin was around $3K to $4k but now we can easily get to $20k.

Yes, everybody is surprise with bitcoin price now. Compared to last year's bitcoin price, its value now is beyond everybody's expectation. I expected that bitcoin price will increase this year but not to extend to reach $17k+. Wow bitcoin is truly unbeatable currency now. Hoping for much better value this coming 2018.

In last few months, crypto currency market is growing like a rocket and no one was expecting that much growth. This growth rate is imaginary and beat all expectations and surprising. Bitcoin grow from approx 3000$ in august 2017 to 19000$ in December 2017.

I feel like it's doing a snowball effect. It was rolling slowly at the start of the year but now that more people have found out about it and have joined in, the snowball has gotten much bigger and is rolling down faster, getting more snow attached to it. Eventually this snowball will be so big that price will be rolling through $100k+ USD value without much resistance.

maybe a little surprised but I think it is natural because when bitcoin is down, the altcoin starts to go up. if bitcoin goes down, the altcoin starts to go down while not all of the altcoin is down. I think this time if bitcoin still goes down, the altcoin will be rise back and will reach the highest price and will make the adjustment of bitcoin price. but I still waiting for bitcoin price to stay at $20k until the end of this year so we can make a lot of money and we can sell the bitcoin.

Cryptocurrencies are exceeding everyones expectations for sure! The growth this last month has seen is insane, no one couldve predicted that much!

It already surpasses my expectations on bitcoin, I was never hoping that it would be that high, but now,  it makes me happy! It is now more than $18,000;D

Nope. Shockingly much faster than I expected. I thought we'd get these sorts of prices in 2019 at the start of this year.

The same supply/production and a hugely increased amount of attention ends up with these types of moves I suppose. And it still has a long, long way to go. I'd suggest everyone sticks around for a few more years.

What exactly should be an expected rate has always been a mystery . The crypto world due to its high volatility has never worked according to our expectations .
It was never expected and speculated a year ago wheb bitcoin ws at $750 that in the coming year in a single momth it would raise by multiple folds to attain the approximate value of $20000.

Yes surprised a lot when I see it grow in from of my eyes. I mean I was like I want more money to invest into bitcoin at that movement so that I can earn huge huge profits on it! However I really missed the opportunity to do that but yeah the speed of growth is unexpected for me. I really thought that bitcoin will make such giant moves very slowly and over the course of next 5 years. But as we can see it has already covered up the 5 years in 5 months this year.

Now that is for sure uncertainty of the crypto currency and no one can really expect what is going to happen with the bacon in year 2018.

There are some of my holding altcoins in my  wallet in different exchange platform are increasing their value but not that as big for now need to wait more to earn big, So I need to be patience while waiting.  :)

No, I'm not surprised with this because I think bitcoin can increase more than this. I expected more than this. Now, bitcoin is the biggest digital currency in this world. So many people used them. Yeah I hope bitcoin can increase more and more again.

I really did not expect bitcoin will grow this fast, I was kind of disappointed to myself because 2 weeks ago, I cash in most of my bitcoin, in anticipation of a correction, but the opposite happens and the price jumps from 11k to 17k in just a week.

I have the same response and thoughts as well, It was speculated earlier of a high probability
of bitcoin's value to maybe reach $20000 by the year 2018. It's grandeur from other existing
coins in the market and it's exceedingly continuous popularity and growth established it's opulence
in the world of finance and cryptocurrency. As of the moment it's worth is floating somewhere in
between $17k and $19k. At the rate BTC is in, that prediction and expectation might be a reality
earlier than expected.

Everyday bitcoin price is increasing and reaching its high peaks although at some moment it decreasing for a while then continuously rising up again even higher that’s why it is really hard to predict what amount will it be. I am expecting for the price of bitcoin to increase but it is really surprising about the increasing rate of bitcoin price because it almost 100% increased from previous month for just less than a month.

Not a surprised for because I've always monitor the trend of bitcoin every time, but All I can say is totally amazing. Though most of us aren't expected that bitcoin increase that fast. But of what happen to bitcoin right now it simply shows that the adoption of the community with crypto is getting stronger and they are keep supporting this for it will become fully established.

Majority are not surprised but confused of how it grows faster unexpectedly.. Bitcoin in always gives you chill whenever it reached the highest possible predictions by some individuals that you have replied of over exaggerations of this price but in the end you’re the one who speculated wrongly.. I’ve learned that most that think exaggeratedly are the winners..

Sometimes I wish this were 2016 and that I had gone into cryptocurrency before that year. I lag a bit having come into crypto awareness this year. Everything seems to be growing at a pace faster than I can imagine. Not even the forex trading market which is in trillions in marketcap has experienced this fast pace of 2017. Crypto has surpassed expectations.

Users predicted the price to reach certain value, but bitcoin has outlawed them growing bigger and bigger. Expect similar growth to continue making way for new ath at certain time interval. Along with the growth in price the user base to is growing big.

Well i don't personally think this is worded correctly or asked i should say. I dont think anyone in here could say lets say 5 years ago they sat down and said " hey i bey you bitcoin will appreciate a minimum of 50% a month ". I dont  think anyone expects that kind of growth from any stock or futures contracts no matter how how risk they are. Now if it continues to be natural sustained growth at this rate  then i am all happy for bitcoin.

For over a year, expectations seems nothing now but just a guide because bitcoin most of the time do the opposite. We’ve learned it from experience and we should now look on the reality how bitcoin moves unpredictable. And today what I only expecting is not knowing what happen next to bitcoin.

nioe! I actually didn't expect that bitcoin will grow like these! if I would I will be a millionare today! I think no one expected the rapid growth of bitcoin theae year. Its price just sky rocketed, I just hope that it will stay on the top and will not go down as fast as it goea up!

I knew that Bitcoin was going to rise but not so quickly, especially during the October period, when it got pumped up from 4k-10k. That was an incredible month. It has slowed down recently due to it's price, but i will be prepared for next year, if it keeps growing at this rate.

Yes crypto currencies are growing st very high rate. 4-5 months back when i csme to know about bitcoin it's value was around to 4k usd but now today it reaches to 19000 usd which is very surprising. Even other bitcoin experts are saying that in the beginning of 2018 bitcoin will continue to grow with this speed and reach upto 21000 usd at the end of feb.

There is need for a separation from the price growing and the penetration growing. When it comes to the price, then its growing beyond my expectation. If anybody would have told me that the price of bitcoin would be anything near what we have it now, I would disagree but here we are that price has surpasses even the most believer in bitcoin.

On the other hand, the penetration of bitcoin to me is still below expectation because the increase we see in price is not still commensurate with the data of people coming into bitcoin that could be said led to the increase in price. There is no big company that have adopted bitcoin in the last few months to the best of my understanding, there is no country that have adopted bitcoin to be a legal tender in the last few months, rather we have seen a lot of regulations happening, Steem stopping the use of bitcoin, countries considering an outright ban and a whole lot of negative news around.

Bitcoin is unpredictable which we didn't know if it will go up or down. I would say yes, I expect that it will grow as much as $20,000 but I didn't expect for just short period of time that it grows rapidly. I believed that the value of bitcoin has the ability to surge above $100,000 in the near future so it is better to invest now on bitcoin rather than regretting when the value skyrocket or when the prices of bitcoins reach the highest peak as this bitcoin network is a good investment and multi million dollar market.

Yes, she is not growing worse! I'm always pretty this currency. My money does not stop working.

Last year my eye was on forhead about Bitcoin price as it was very high but current market price is below half. I hope it will cross all previous recor of rate and new system will come to save investors.

It's already grown far beyond my wildest imagination - in terms of market capitalization, and especially individual value of Bitcoin. Not just that, it was not a long time ago that I realized that it's just a start.

In terms of technology, I consider it to be a little bit slower then I thought. This big discrepancy is the worst problem actually. We have a speculative balloon that could explode and destroy otherwise beautiful technology. Technology has to catch up soon.

No one can really expect how fast crypto will grow. I like to compare this to the dot-com boom.  ;D

Almost all crypto prices in the world are rising rapidly. And the amount that is expected every month is also being met. I think in 2018 will be the brightest year of Bitcoin and other crypto. I think what I expect from Bitcoin will be met.

If you see the prices today, it is now back below $11000. :) That $11000 to $17000 was due to manipulation and that is the reason price dropped after the big whales withdraw their holdings at huge profit. There is only one advantage of this, now that it almost touched $20000 mark, that much is almost guaranteed. If you invest at current levels, you will get double in few months.

Absolutely agree bitcoin touched prices 20 of thousands of dollars and now there is a clear understanding of growth potential price. Therefore all who buys bitcoin at a price below 20 of thousands of dollars be sure to be in a plus. I think you need to wait until about mid-may months and we will see the growth of prices of all cryptocurrency.

I am not sure how you could come to a conclusion that it was manipulated and so is the reason the price was moving higher to $17K,in my option that  is how the market works ,to be frank i was really surprised to see the rally last year as i never expected this kind of change in the price in a very short period of time and one sad thing is that i had to control my urge to gamble more. ;)

Who would have thought that from sudden pump we are now again striving to recover going 20K$. This was really expected, afterall bitcoin ia not just about pumping. The last few months crypto currency market is developing like a rocket and no one can expect big growth. This growth rate is imaginary and surpasses all expectations surprisingly. Bitcoin also grew about $ 5,000 in August 2017 to $ 22,000 in December 2017. 8)

     Actually crypto growing are more than my expectation because it's growth are very unexpected.But at this time bitcoin drops many times and i set my expectation when it grows before end of this year 2018. I think positive and i hope it will grow more than last year 2017.

No, because I still don't have enough idea when it will be rise up again. I still don't know the signs of increase of the price of bitcoin.
I can't justify my belief or prediction in bitcoin because it always doesn't happen so I just gather news in the internet.
