Nope, in fact it is growing at a faster rate surpassing all expectations. There were a lot of speculation about Bitcoin reaching the five figure milestone in 2018, but we're already here with an additional $6k as of now and its not even 2018 yet. This clearly tells only one thing, the father of cryptocurrencies i.e Bitcoin is even beating the so called speculators in racing towards a big figure consistently.

BTC is basically flat...and I expect(ed) it to stay that way and trend lower in price because of the fee debacle.

LTC I started watching a couple of days ago when it was at $135...and the next day it went to $300.  Grrr...didn't even have a chance to wire the fiat to the exchange.  I expected a big jump but not that fast...

Yes, so much than I expected. Bitcoin is literally doing strange things this year, and I won't want to get FOMO'd.

I'm not surprised that this can happen more than we think, and even later in 2018 bitcoin prices can soar higher than we thought and that's where investors wait a lot.

Yes, i am really surprised! wasn't expecting bitcoin to go over $10k in 2017, but it did, price atm is $16.5. can we go over $20k by the end of this year? would be awesome to see price going $20k+.

Yes, though the price has surely shocked everyone around especially if almost all of it are non believes rs of crypotcurrence from the start. It is very important that we still watch out for the trends and continue in thriving in bitcoin.

saw this increase because institutional capital are entering the Bitcoin scene in the form of Bitcoin futures traded on CME

Group. This has sparked some real interest amongst the bigger investors and people who are riding/speculating on this news.

Not really! Crypto growth has suppressed my expectation and growing at an exponential rate since last few months. I never thought that bitcoin would grow to 17K USD level that fast. I expected it would grow to probably $9k to $10k by the end of 2017, but look what it has reached now. I believe the growth has been fueled by the adoption by big corporate companies across the world. Also the government of Japan provided a proper framework for the crypto user and started giving out licenses to the crypto exchanges. This has played a major role behind the growth of crypto prices. Now the expectation has been increased to an insane level and people are expecting as high as 25k USD by the first quarter of 2018. It's too good to be true. If this happens, I would be able to pay off all my debts.

If I'm being honest, I really am not "surprised" as much as I am excited, relieved and feeling determined as ever knowing that we are on path to what has been envisioned since the beginning of bitcoin. I do hope that traders lighten their load on the blockchain, or something could happen within development I suppose, so that Satoshi's original idea of Casual transactions can again take place. We are sort of in a run-away phase right now where people are hyperactive and overly excited. It's best to just hold out hats for now and not count any chickens before they hatch!

I expected bitcoin to explode, then explode again, and again until it's finally got the market-cap, transactions and value that it has the potential to reach. I have no "expected" rate for bitcoin, because it's a volatile creature, all I know is that it comes in spikes and waves. It has the best upward trend I've ever seen, but it's significant movement normally happens within moments and it is certainly powerful. I just stand out of the way and let it do it's thing, i don't want to put any chains on bitcoin by expecting it to do anything; I'm just happy we let it out of it's cage to see what it is capable of.

Cryptos on a whole are growing at a expedintial rate to see where we are now is quite mind blowing when you think a couple of years back. Now we see bitcoin growing by almost double a month.

No. Because bitcoin is volatile. It is expected to pump and dump specially in this kind of market. But from expected rate, no one knows because bitcoin is just starting yet to be develope.

All crypto world is growing at a faster  and faster rate every month that passes, surpassing all expectations.. I think 2018 will be the year of consacration of BITCOIN, Ethereum and other crypto.... they will finally become mainstream!

the prediction was that the btc can go upto $10k  at the end of the year 2017.but the few months ago nobody expecting that btc will reach the target. but now the btc  is in over $19k . that's just unbelievable. now i can expect btc could go upto 22 to 25K at the end of the year 2017.

To he honest crypto has already spread much faster then I thought it would. Already there seminars her for people to learn about bitcoin and gain financial freedom that is mostly because things are going badly and the job market sucks so there is little money and people need to find ways to make a living and that is where Bitcoin comes in. We can already buy food at one supermarket here with bitcoin so it's really surprised me by how it's caught on.

Six more days passed since you posted that thread, and the price has already touched more than twenty thousand dollars.

Isn't it amazing? i can not even believe how fast it is growing.

The problem is that all the altcoins are going up too, not just bitcoin, almost all the other altcoins have increased by more than 50% today, just take a look over the prices, it is amazing.

Even all those altcoins who had less than 10m on their total marketcap have increased today too.
